And after that, Rain and Crew simply cracked up through the whole number.  It just couldn’t be helped.  They missed their cues.  Went the wrong way.  Bumped each other.  They could barely hold it together.

This unique Hip Song performance was doomed from the start and is made of Awesome.  You don’t see ’em like this.  Love it!  ROFLMAO!

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon in a new drama.

•July 28, 2010 • 6 Comments

Well, well, well!  You go, Joonie. 🙂

This looks like a role that he can really sink his teeth into, a great next step in the showcasing of his talents.  Young Raizo in Ninja Assassin was very intense, and Joon’s gun-toting character in the “Y” MV was seriously scary; going the comedic route now will show whether or not our Boy can stretch.  And who better to play a pretty boy idol?  I mean, really.

We are looking forward to this, and wish Joon the best!

— Stephe ^@@^

Allkpop 7/27/2010 — It’s always great to hear an idol star taking a step into the acting world. MBLAQ’s Lee Joon has jumped onto the bandwagon and will be acting for the second time through the upcoming MBC drama called Stay-at-Home Mom Kim Kwang Ja’s Third Gathering.

And believe it or not, Lee Joon will be playing the role as a pretty idol star! The role seems to fit him perfectly.

The role of Kim Kwang Ja will be played out by actress Yang Mi Kyung. The drama’s plot will be a series of events that unfold from a 40 year old woman’s unending obsession with a 20 year old pretty boy idol.

A drama representative revealed on the 27th:

“Three years after the drama Que Sera Sera, Kim Yoon Chul PD has prepared for a new mini-series. MBLAQ’s Lee Joon has been selected as the pretty boy star to act alongside Yang Mi Kyung. Yang Mi Kyung’s husband will be played out by Kim Kab Soo

“Funny events will start to spill while Yang Mi Kyung carries out activities as a member of Lee Joon’s fanclub”

After acting in the Hollywood film Ninja Assassin as Rain’s younger self, this upcoming drama will be Lee Joon’s first official acting masterpiece.

Official filming activities for the drama will commence next month.

Lee Jung-Jin and cast on the set of Runaway.

•July 27, 2010 • 3 Comments

Dramabeans 7/27/2010 —  Now it’s Lee Jung-jin‘s turn to claim the spotlight in Runaway — although, I dunno, it’s awfully hard to compete with ridiculous “controversies” like falsified-height scandals.

The hilarious thing about this whole Rain-lied-about-his-height-or-was-it-really-the-camera-angle? non-issue is that you just know that everyone is now going to be watching this drama for scenes to compare the two actors. Secret identities? High-speed chases? Stolen fortunes? International action and intrigue? Forget all that — we want to know the exact height differential between Lee Jung-jin and Rain! Because it MATTERS!…somehow.

Anyway, on to the point: Lee Jung-jin in character as a detective named Do-soo. Along with a subordinate played by Yoon Jin-seo, Do-soo chases Rain and Lee Na-young on an extended pursuit that takes them through a number of Asian countries….

[ *ETA 7.27: A Japanese source tells us that Rain is at the airport in Shanghai here. ^@@^ ]

He’s at an airport, and we would love to be able to tell you which airport, but in this case (as happens quite often) the source didn’t bother to say.  As if we wouldn’t want to know or something.  Go figure.

From the looks of it, this might be our man heading from Japan to Hong Kong for more Runaway filming, or even arriving in Hong Kong.  Surely it wasn’t any time before that, seeing as that Ji-Woo shirt and MCM bag were nowhere to be seen until Rain hit Japanese shores… but we’re just guessing.  Though the shot is from behind, it’s a wonderful pic of him and should definitely be posted anyway.

(It’s come to our attention that a controversy involving pictures of Rain at his Elle photo shoot in Shanghai and at the airport, by a professional photographer, has occurred, and that the photographer’s pictures have been voluntarily removed by some of our sister sites, per request.  To our knowledge, neither this picture nor any others on Cloud USA are involved.  If that isn’t the case, please let us know.  Thanks.)  — Stephe ^@@^

Not that we care or anything…but WHY IS THIS NEWS?

•July 26, 2010 • 8 Comments

Seriously, people!

So what if Lee Jung-Jin is 1 or 2 centimeters taller or shorter than Rain?  Why on earth is this news?  And how in the world did this item manage to become a hot newsflash through the entire Rain blogosphere not just once but TWICE.  OMG.

Who cares how tall Rain is compared to anybody?  Would we love him less if he was three inches shorter?  Is that what we’re saying?  Would Lee Jung-Jin’s fans love him more if he was taller than Rain?

Well, just so you’ll know for sure—it’s not true.  Lee Jung-Jin is not taller than Rain.  Rain’s official website says that Rain stands 185 centimeters tall, while multiple sources all over the Internet put Jung-Jin’s height at anywhere between 182-184 centimeters—which just happens to be a centimeter or two shorter than Rain.  A centimeter folks.  Do you know how SMALL an amount that is anyway?  Sheesh.

The shot that was heard around the world started with this photo, which shows Lee Jung-Jin and Rain standing side by side and where, because of the camera angle, the street slope, Lee Jung-Jin’s spiked hair and wedged sneakers, versus Rain’s loafers, Rain looks shorter.  Sigh.

But again I ask: who the heck cares?  If I’m ever given the chance to stand between Rain and Jung-Jin the last thing I’m going to be doing as I stand there (with an arm wrapped around each of them, of course) is ponder over which one is just a smidgen taller.  Good grief.

So we’ve got a slow Rain news day?  So what?  Rather than wonder whether or not Rain is getting fat in between takes on his drama set (on the same DAY, mind you), why don’t we try relaxing with our families, or laughing with our friends, or playing with our pets instead?  Sound good?  I think so.

— Terri :-} (who stands 5′ 2″ (157.48 centimeters) tall and who thinks Rain and Lee Jung Jin are both the perfect size–thank you very much.)

P.S.  I’m much more interested in what the heck that is on Rain’s pants legs there.  Ew.  Is that some kind of fashion statement or the result of a rather messy action scene?  Hmmm.

Wish coming true.

RAINY DAY Season 2, episode 25.

•July 24, 2010 • 6 Comments

Asia broadcast 7/24.  Continuation from last week, Rain’s journey to and through his MTV Movie Award evening, with more footage that we haven’t seen up until now.  Notice how he nonchalantly made his way down that Red Carpet… what a star. 🙂 And once he got to his seat, remember he talked about being incredibly nervous, and being almost in a dream state.  He was so excited, but he looked so calm!

(This episode pretty much answers my question from last time—all of the car footage last week was Ji-Hoon riding TO Gibson’s Amphitheater, with future things spliced in for the viewer.  Interesting… seeing as he mentioned Ms. Scarlett before even seeing her that day.  *sly look*)

And then he caught the audience and the world off guard by winning.  They were like, wha? wow! There were cheers and applause from supporters, and then all-out shrieks of delight as he ascended the MTV stage and everyone got a really good look at his hawtness.  You could feel the women throughout the place gaping with their mouths open and wondering who the hell is that? Tell me who he is, like right now! I want that. The entire audience, suddenly sensing they had just witnessed something special, applauded our man as he left and made mental note to Google Ninja Assassin… Google Rain…

(*NOTE: We can bet you there were a lot more people in the MTV Movie Award audience who already knew and liked Rain and Ninja Assassin.  He only seems to be an unknown here.)

Poor baby blanked out at the podium!  And we would have too.  You’re sitting there not expecting to win but all of a sudden you have the statuette in your hand, and you’re shoved in front of a room full of Americans, with countless American viewers and the whole of Korea and the rest of the world watching and waiting for you to say something wonderfully profound.  In English.  OMG.  *blank*  *deer in headlights* And he did the right thing—kept it short and got the heck off the stage ASAP without embarrassing himself.  Thanking everyone properly later is always an option.

Well done, Ji-Hoon.  Well done!  This is one episode we’ll be really happy to get the translation for.  Enjoy, fans.  — Stephe ^@@^

Remember » this fan cam in our previous post “His girl” from July 21?

There is an audio going around of Rain’s conversation with the Love Saitama audience before he actually begins to sing “My Girl” here, where he says out loud—well… read the translation for yourself…!

(English translation by rain bird @Rain-eu.)

② Talk + My Girl

Is it interesting? (audience: Yeah!)

Thank you very much [for exaggerating] (audience: laughing)

Whenever I have a performance, that has always loomed large in my mind because I have to show you something new.  Anyway, thanks to your love I received, I seem to prepare well, even if I spend exhausting days preparing for the concert.

After Japan concert and the drama shooting, I plan to hold concerts in Asian countries including Korea, China and so on.  After that, I plan a concert tour of the United States.

Thank you for all your support.

You know what I’m going to sing next time?  I have to choose one fan and invite her onstage.  But I have difficulty choosing whom to be my girl at times like this.  At first, I’ll focus my camera on the audiences.

Now I’ve found two fans I want to invite.  Please welcome a mother and her daughter.

Ah, are you Koreans?  Now I know that you are Chinese.  Please come and sit down.

-After the song-

I think that little girl doesn’t know who I am, but her mother seems to know me.  When I gave that girl my song, her eyes seemed to be full of doubt, “who is this guy?”

No, it was OK.

It is impossible for everybody to know me.

But I’ve just decided to achieve my new goal which is to survive for a long time as an entertainer until that little girl is in her 20s.

Unfortunately the audio I’m talking about (along with other audios of Rain speaking throughout Love Saitama, recorded by a fan) is in a format that isn’t supported by WordPress, or we would have posted it for you here by now.  However, we’ll keep on the lookout in case someone presents them in a different medium, and hopefully bring it to you then.

The important things to note here are 1) Ji-Hoon is wanting/planning/going to tour the States again.  There’s no telling what time frame we’re talking about.  He’s going to have to work around obstacles and obligations that he already has.  Regardless, we should be patient and of good cheer because when the man says something he usually does it.  Right?  We recall him mentioning a possible US show back on one of the ZEPP stages, too.  And 2) we’re going to have Ji-Hoon entertaining us for quite some time, future-wise.  How old was the little girl, around five?  If so, it’ll be 15 years before she’s at least 20.

If you think Rain is hot now, oh just wait until he gets in his 30s and 40s.  As a matured entertainer, with the talents he has at repackaging himself, he’s going to be even more irresistible.  Devastatingly so.

You can quote us on that.  — Stephe ^@@^

K-stars serving their country, part 2.

•July 24, 2010 • 2 Comments

[Cloud USA] To hopefully ease ourselves and our sister Clouds and Rain fans past any fear of our Ji-Hoon’s upcoming stint in the ROK military, we give you this, the second offering in our K-stars Serving Their Country series.  (The K-drama “Lucifer” was one of the first shows I ever watched, and I still remember how utterly chilling Joo Ji-Hoon was in it.  Wow.)

Dramabeans 7/21/2010 — LEE JUN-KI AND JOO JI-HOON IN ARMY MUSICAL

Lee Jun-ki and Joo Ji-hoon, who entered military service in May and February, respectively, are starring in a musical production as part of the army’s entertainment unit.

The musical, entitled Life’s Voyage, honors the 60-year anniversary of the Korean War, and also stars Kim Da-hyun, Yoon Gong-joo, Son Hyun-jung, and Moon Jong-won.

The play has been in production since June, and Lee Jun-ki, as the youngest member of the team, reportedly sang the loudest and worked the hardest at rehearsals.

Joo Ji-hoon said, “It would be nice to share this show with a lot of people. A lot of soldiers are putting their sweat and hard work into this production, so I think you can keep your expectations up.”

Lee Jun-ki stated, “I’m happy to be able to participate in a meaningful piece. The show will give us the chance to share a new perspective on 6/25 with many people, and I hope that it will leave a lasting impression of gratitude and comfort to the veterans of that war.”

Life’s Voyage will run August 21-29 at the National Theater.

Allkpop 7/23/2010 —RAIN’S DRAMA FUGITIVE HEADED TO HONG KONG, THAILAND, AND OTHER COUNTRIES.

Last month we reported that Rain would star in a new KBS drama titled Fugitive and filming for the drama began on June 16th.

Now more information about the filming and progress of the drama have been revealed. The cast of Fugitive has been filming in Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka in Japan for the past few weeks. Still shots as the cast members cool off from the hot summer heat from the Osaka filming have been released.

In addition there’s word that once filming wraps up in Osaka, the cast of Fugitive will head to Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

With all these potential filming sites, many are making comparisons with the 2009 popular KBS drama IRIS, where filming locations included various locations in Europe, Japan and China.

This highly anticipated drama will air towards the end of this year and will be about the events that unfold after the sudden reappearance of an astronomical amount of money that was lost after the Korean War.
