Around 8:00 am, Rain rode the tricycle. His heel was still pink (remember! the little accident happened yesterday). He didn’t wear socks until now. Today’s scene, Rain rode on the tricycle and Lee chased after him. He rode it so well.

There once was a time, they took pictures together, few guys stood up, Rain squatted on the floor… He pursed his lip (so cute!)

Fans bought some KFC egg tarts and 2 boxes of coffee and 1 box of Korean beverage for film crew and Rain. He said, “Thank you” to fans and ate happily. The weather was still hot, during the break, he sat on the staircase and breeze with paper hand fan.

Around noon time, Rain went for lunch. Before that, he waved to Fans, He was eating at Yoshinoya. Not sure if any schedule in the afternoon.

Today, he had little accident again. He rode the tricycle, probably rode too fast and needed to brake suddenly and the tricycle almost flipped over. His assistant and film crew immediately ran to him and took a look. He’s alright! Also, there’s a running scene, he fell down and hurt his stomach. It seemed hurt. He sat aside and kept rubbing his stomach in pain.

Well, all I can say is THANK HEAVENS for pictures. You see, here in the States, a tricycle is a teeny tiny little thing that’s made for toddlers up to the age of five or so. I could not picture how such a thing would fit into Do Man Ja. What this account is really referencing is more like an adult-sized Trike. 😀

Oh dear, he took a tumble, but he’s a tough guy. I’m sure he’s okay.

The crew left the hotel at 5.10 am. Lee Jung Jin left after 6 am.

Our prince left at 6.30 am like that: White shirt, blue trousers, flip flops. The trousers were very slim. So handsome.

Our prince wore a suit to shoot a running scene. With such weather in Beijing he would get tanned. One fan became one of the “actors” being pushed by our prince.

I saw Rain by chance today. He looked so smart. His face was very small. His body extremely fit. This was the first time I saw a star in real life. Later I saw Rain being chased by someone in black along the lake. He wore a dark blue suit and had to run about 100m. The weather was so hot that one would sweat even just sitting there, not to mention wearing a suit running…. It’s really hard. So this might be the shooting of Runaway in China?

The shooting finished. Our prince had changed. Our princed asked all Clouds to gather together. He waved to the Clouds. He smiled brightly. Our prince probably wanted to see how many Clouds were there. No idea yet where our prince would be going afterwards.

Today was very hot. Looked like it might rain. Our prince sweated a lot in the morning shooting, but he was still very, very handsome! His shoes might not fit too well, he limped as he walked, but he’s still very handsome! Clouds organized themselves together and greeted our prince. We shouted “Santogi” to our prince. Our prince waved to us. He smiled so brightly!

Received message from front line Clouds as follows: Our prince ran a lot during the shooting. For one scene he ran over 7 or 8 times. It’s all running scene. His back was totally wet, and his suit stuck to his body. Must be difficult under such hot weather. The shoes probably hurt his feet. During some free time our prince compared his height with Lee Jung Jin. They stood facing each other to compare, then back to back… hahaha, he wanted to prove to Clouds! He wore white shirt, blue trousers, silver white shoes, so smart and so handome.

Our prince was back to the hotel.

Our prince is resting now. He was shooting a running scene before and ran 7 or 8 times already He was all wet. He’s walking outside now carrying a white towel, ready for the next shooting. He broke the skin of his foot during shooting, but it’s been treated now. He was so lovely today. When he ran he even stuck his tongue out!

I just got back. A brief recap:
It was very hot today. Our prince was wearing the white shirt outside, but had to tuck it inside his trousers when shooting begun. So he faced back to the others, and his assistant used some clothes to block [our view ^@@^]. But we could still clearly see his back and his zipping movement. He was very lovely.

Also, our prince had to run three times towards us. He was so used to it that he couldn’t stop. He was so close to me and one other cloud. She said she didn’t see his face, but I did. I also instinctively moved a step backward, as I was afraid of danger. It’s really funny to see that he couldn’t stop.

Today during shooting I called him. He was two steps away from me. He turned his head, smiled, waved, watched me for 30 seconds! My heart jumped.

The funniest part today is when our prince pulled Lee Jung Ji from where he was sitting to compare their height. Lee was sitting close to the monitor, our prince pulled him up from the chair (they were joking, they seemed to be very close). He compared his height with Lee and looked at Lee from the corner of his eyes. His expression was so cute. He was indeed taller than Lee!

If we had been fortunate enough to see this in Atlanta (Rain’s tour was halted before it got to Phillips Arena, due to other people’s greed and stupidity), we would have never been the same. Wow. When Han Ji-Eun threw up on Lee Young-Jae’s arm on the plane, I knew I was hooked. Haha! That fan declaring he was taking a dump while trapped in that bathroom stall at the amusement park had me in stitches. By the time Han Ji-Eun jerked his fool head around and put a band-aid on his injured cheek, I knew I never wanted the show to end. What were some of your favorite Full House moments?

Our last encounter with this lovely piece of MTV goodness (it was the bane of our existence, I recall) was during the live 2010 MTV Movie Awards when Rain topped the board and stayed somewhere on it for quite a while (at the expense of our Twitters, which we burned out in the process). As we understand it, this is to cover summer music in general, what Tweeters are talking about at the moment.

Rain Reality.

Remember early in the year, when Rain shot all of those Nikon D5000 commercial spots and had his photography exhibition in Seoul? I’m just noticing that the CF I loved the best is the first thing that welcomes you to » Nikon Imaging: Korea online. (It’s a good idea to have pop-ups enabled for this site.) And that’s always a treat, isn’t it? Being greeted by Rain when you come upon a website? 😀

He is also sprinkled generously throughout the site, though » comedian Yu Se-Yoon’s Nikon campaign has recently started.

This » new Nikon event from a previous post was what prompted me to go and spend a little time over there. The site may be 99% Hangeul, but images of our Ji-Hoon translate well in any language. Wouldn’t you agree?

Where has all the Rain calendar wallpaper gone?

[ *ETA 8/2: Lotte Japan and SK Telesys now have August wallpaper available. Yippee! ^@@^ ]

Early in the year, we all practically tortured ourselves monthly by grappling with the decision of what Rain wallpaper to put up. There were so many to choose from, and it was a glorious time indeed. So… what happened? We didn’t even know that official Rain calendar wallpaper was an endangered species before it went the way of the dinosaur—completely extinct.

Do the Powers That Be think it’s just not important to us, or something? 😦

As of this writing: At » SK Telesys, there is no August wallpaper, though there IS a hot looking screensaver for the new SK-W900 Aura campaign.

Rain’s August wallpaper by Lotte Duty Free, on the English, Korean, and Chinese sites say JULY (only his… the other K-celebs are correct), which pretty much makes it unusable.

Lotte’s Japanese site still has the July wallpaper up, but they may release some for August in the next few days. Maybe.

J.Tune Creative left the building months ago. Nature Republic… no. None.

Oh, how we long for the days of old.

Asia broadcast 7/31. Now we get into the Back To The Basic farewell staging where Rain says goodbye before hitting the ZEPP trail, behind the scenes, and it looks so exciting!

Rain is wearing that hot black casual fitted-jeans look that we all swooned over. (I know this is supposed to be a professional write-up, but my heavens, his pants are TIGHT. *blinking* Okay, I need to get a grip. Er… okay, that was the wrong thing to say. Let me just continue.)

Other comeback groups enter and exit the studio’s performing area like clockwork. MBLAQ, in stage makeup, awaits their turn in a prep room, never taking their eyes from the live monitor.

The studio crowd is loud and lively. As they should be, as Rain busts out Love Song.

And then it’s outside the building for Rain’s farewell mini-fanmeet. (Unfortunately, all I could pick up with my almost-nonexistent Korean skills was “Yes.” “Okay.” “I like…” “Oh, really…” and “Thanks.”) This was pretty cute, and it looked like he and the fans had a blast. They barely got into the gift-giving, and that gigantic otter didn’t yet make an appearance, so perhaps that means the mini-fanmeet will continue in next week’s episode.

Incidentally, parts of this new entertainment spot were released in an earlier, longer MBC clip back around May 7 called Section TV’s Invitation to Rain’s Life, where an interviewer started in the gym with Rain and dancers Hongshi and SooBong, and ended up with Rain and the interviewer at the restaurant. The video and translation were pretty darned hilarious and cracked us up!

[Cloud USA] Yesterday (July 29), Asian source Money Today’s Star News quoted actor Lee Jung-Jin, Rain’s cast member in upcoming drama Do Man Ja (Runaway), as responding in a recent interview:

Q : Do you have a love of learning?

Lee Jung-Jin: When I joined the Runaway team after finishing post-sychronizing lines from my movie ‘The Fixer’, Rain told me, “You’ve never post-sychronized lines from a movie in English? If you do that, it drives you crazy.”

Q : When you chase three hares at once, there should be what you gain and what you lose. (Lee is currently doing drama, movie, and TV show at once)

Lee: Actually, it is not. I can see the reason why Rain is called as a world star through the Runaway shooting. I’ve learned quite a lot from him. [on how to balance and juggle things successfully ^@@^]

Q: You’ve recently become the talk of the town.

Lee: They insist that Rain is using his footpads to look taller, or I stand 6 feet 3 inches, but I do nothing but smile because both can’t be true.

[Cloud USA] MTV USA has a nice Spotted write-up on Rain’s presence at European luxury brand MCM’s mini-salon opening in Shanghai yesterday, July 28.

As you recall, the last time we saw Rain in Spotted! was back in December 2009, when they captured him on stage at Legend of Rainism Las Vegas.

They are watching our man. Really watching our man, now. And we are so pleased, you cannot imagine. Ji-Hoon so deserves this kind of exposure in the States. He has so much to offer the American public and so much more to offer us here, if only he’s given the chance.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that’s why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

The fact that high-level fashion outlet MCM opened a store in Shanghai, China is a big deal in and of itself, but the organizers of the grand opening knew exactly how to turn the who thing into a gigantic event. Most grand openings will try to get a big list of stars to walk up, but MCM only really needed one: South Korean pop star/actor/model/independent industry Rain. The star made his way to the brand new store on Wednesday (July 28), where he attracted huge throngs of rabid, devoted fans. For those not in the know, Rain’s star power and influence stretches all across the world, combining the sort of fervor reserved for the likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Eminem. He’s huge, and he continues to make inroads into new places (including the United States, where his film “Ninja Assassin” and the single “Hip Song” have both raised his profile profoundly).

He wasn’t the only star smiling for the cameras, as 50 Cent attended the premiere of the new movie “Twelve” (which stars Chace Crawford and 50 himself) and the Strokes prepared for their big Lollapalooza set next weekend with a show in Australia. About 1 PM, Rain stayed outside the hotel entrance about 5 minutes. Sseems he have very good mood, kept waving to Fans!
He wore grey shoes, grey checkered short, grey tee, cap and scarf! So handsome.
In Shanghai airport, Rain didn’t take VIP exit, therefore Fans could follow him until the security check point— so happy!
Also, Rain has signed for Fans inside the car. Rain was on first class. In the security check point, Rain didn’t have chance to wave and say good bye to Fans, but everybody have already satisfied because he didn’t take VIP exit.

Rain arrived Beijing safely. He didn’t take VIP exit.
He waved to Fans inside the car. Beijing was raining but not too heavy.
Around 7 PM, he checked in at hotel. Hotel manager welcomed him at lobby and sent him to hotel room in person.
He still wore grey tees, checkered short and flip flops.
Fans said he should get ready to go out for dinner.

I was able to obtain an invitation for the MCM party at last minute. I therefore had an opportunity to attend an event with our prince not as a fan, but as a guest.

I arrived the place on time at 6.00 pm. (fans were always early) and I was the first guest. The place was quite small, and I understood the organizer had invited over 100 guests. It was therefore getting quite crowded by 6.30 pm. The manager told me our prince would appear any time, and showed me to the entrance. We both stood there to wait for his arrival. There were many fans waiting outside.

The familiar van appeared. Loud cheers could be heard and our prince got down the car. He wore white shirt with black vest and trousers, and had his sun glasses on. As he entered he hugged the MCM chair woman and greeted the other guests/hosts. He then went inside a fenced off area to “change”. When he came out he was wearing a black suit, without the sunglasses. Our prince looked very neat and handsome. He had very nice skin. As the place was small I was able to follow him quite easily, even though he was surrounded by bodyguards, with Mr. Kim in overall charge. But I kept my distance, as all I wanted was to take a good look at our prince, to see if he was happy and healthy.

He took a tour of the shop, smiled and listened attentively when his hosts introduced the products to him. Then he retreated back to the fenced off area and stayed there for quite a while. I saw him sniffed a couple of times – not sure if our prince had totally recovered from his flu. When he seemed not sure or disagreed with something, he frowned and gave a very unique mouth gesture. He sat down in a relaxed manner on a sofa chair, his long legs stretched out, enjoying some conversation with his assistant and his host. A couple of times he looked out. I was standing right in front of the “room” and our eyes met. I felt slightly scared and guilty that our prince might be annoyed by my watching him, and involuntarily I turned my face away…

Then our prince came out again to sign on one red and one white bag (the same type of backpack that he carried recently when he went to Japan). I was standing right behind Mr. Kim, and he kindly gestured me to move forward so that I could take some pictures. That was really kind of him and as a result I could show here some relatively clearer photos of our prince. For the rest of the time I had to move with the crowd and fight for space to take pictures (and you could see the quality of those….). But for most of the half hour or so I simply forgot to take any pictures. I was standing so close to our prince I was totally absorbed in watching him – his smooth hair, he broad shoulders, his attractive back, his lovely smiles, his gentle movements. He had a halo on him which made everything/everyone besides him lustreless.

After the signing our prince went inside the fenced off “room” again. Some guests went inside to have pictures taken with him. Some bags (the same type which he signed) were brought inside too for him to sign – the price of these signed bags would cost twice as much, as this would be for some kind of charity.

Our prince came out again. He walked towards the store room next to the cashier counter, and before we knew what happened, he disappeared inside the storeroom. (When he opened the door I could see lots of hand bags on the shelves.) A camera man hired by the organizer whispered to me that our prince was ready to leave, and we thought he wanted to change inside the store room. (The fenced off room had glasses and fans could see through so I guessed our prince couldn’t change properly there).

It was funny to me that all attention was paid to a store room at that moment. We waited for about five minutes. There was a signal given from inside. Our prince’s assistant opened the door and our prince came out. It seemed to me he hadn’t changed. He was still wearing a suit. May be he had changed to another suit? I was not sure, because people crowded around him immediately as he came out. This remained a mystery to me.

Our prince said goodbye to the hosts and left. Loud cheers from the fans outside could be heard as he got on his van.

I had a chance to talk to the MCM chairwoman, and I thanked her from the bottom of my heart in inviting our prince to Shanghai for this event!

Allkpop 7/29/2010 — Lee Na Young and Korean American actor / model Daniel Henney joined the cast of the upcoming blockbuster KBS drama Fugitive last month. The whole cast has been busy filming for the past few weeks and still photos of both Lee Na Young and Daniel Henney were released.

The photos were taken on set when filming was taking place in Yokohoma, Japan. Lee Na Young looks a bit like an SNSD / Girls’ Generation member with the “Marine Girl” concept from Genie while Daniel looks slick with sunglasses and a stretch poplin shirt. Daniel will play the role of a big business tycoon and form a love triangle with Rain for the affection of Lee Na Young.

The cast of Fugitive will head to Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines. This highly anticipated drama will air towards the end of this year and will be about the events that unfold after the sudden reappearance of an astronomical amount of money that was lost after the Korean War.

Angelina Jolie compliments S. Korea and Rain.

[Cloud USA] What we find interesting here, in addition to Jolie complimenting Rain, are her comments about how much care and support South Korea continues to give to North Korean refugees—a very impressive thing. It is true that all we ever hear about are the scary and very real hostilities between the two countries; it isn’t often that we run across items of goodwill, such as this.

We can’t help being concerned about the situation on the Korean peninsula. After all, anything that affects it also affects Rain, his colleagues, and all of the Korean people in a major way.

The Korea Times 7/28/2010 — Angelina Jolie, the goodwill ambassador for a U.N. refugee agency, expressed concerns about North Korean defectors, Wednesday during a visit to Seoul, and hopes to help improve their situation.

The screen beauty, on a tour to promote her new spy film “Salt,” said she discussed the matter earlier in the day with South Korean representatives of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). “They spoke a lot about the concerns about people being persecuted when they are sent back to North Korea,’’ said Jolie. “I’m very concerned about the people. I know all of you are as well, and you have been doing a great deal to help them… I’m just in solidarity with all of you.’’

She was impressed by the support for North Korean refugees here…. “I learned today they give citizenship when they cross into South Korea. I think that’s extraordinary. People don’t know that.’’

About 20,000 North Koreans have settled in the South since the Korean War ended in 1953….

Being a mother is a big part of her life, and she always chooses film projects in consideration of the length and location of the shooting. Save for Pitt and the twins, the rest of her children accompanied her on the trip. She said she wants to share as much of her working experience as possible with her family. She added that her kids are a fan of K-pop star Rain, who played the lead in the Hollywood film NINJA ASSASSIN. “Their mother thinks he’s very cool too,’’ she said.
