When I ran across this performance, I wondered why I hadn’t known or posted about it. A look at the date told me why right away. I had just finished chemotherapy, was recovering from a mastectomy, and about to go into radiation. I was all about cancer treatments at the time.
The KCON 2022 Festival was held in Boulevard City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the very first KCON in that country. The show lasted over two nights (9/30 and 10/1), with Rain joining the artists appearing on Night 1. Clips of all the artists’ performances are on the KCON official YouTube channel.
I’m so glad this came up randomly on our YouTube homepage. This has to go on the list of one of Rain’s BEST performances to date. He truly killed it.

Whenever you see Rain, his sense of humor is never far behind. 🤣🤣
His way of counting down the days to the start of ticket sales to the general public for his upcoming Still Raining concert tour stops in Seoul (Saturday, June 8 at 6 PM and Sunday, June 9 at 5 PM, at Olympic Stadium’s Olympic Hall) was pretty unique, ha ha. From April 25 at 8 PM KST on, sales are on like gangbusters at Interpark‘s online Korean and International links.
If his Still Raining concert stops here in Atlantic City and Las Vegas last November are any indication (and they ARE, trust), the shows on his home turf are going to blow the roof off the place.

Late night talk/music show The Seasons (which filled the slot left by Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook) is in a new 5th season with charismatic singer/rapper Zico at its helm — YES! (Previous seasons’ hosts were Jay Park, Choi Jung Hoon, AKMU, and Lee Hyo Ri.) As we understand it, the show has always showcased musicians and guests interested in music through in-depth interviews and live performances. Exactly our cup of tea.

Rain, The Hungry and the Hairyhyung/buddy Ro HongChul, NOROO Paint, and friend Hyunmin Kim have all been having a wonderfully relaxing time over in Milan, Italy these days, sometimes together, sometimes apart. And it’s been wonderful to see, the exploring of such a beautiful city, the soaking up of the incredible arts, Hong Chul Wonderland, and all that’s come with it.
It’s always a pleasure to see our workaholic Rain relaxing, yeah? (He had presence of mind to also give us links to Interpark ticketing for his upcoming Still Raining Seoul concert in June.) We wonder though… will any of this make it into the possible second season of The Hungry and the Hairy, on Netflix?

April 15. Rain’s The Hungry and the Hairy co-star and buddy Ro HungChul and several other folks made note of Rain in Milan for the Hong Chul WONDERLAND exhibition (with NOROO and artist Okuda San Miguel) and at other artistic places during Milan Design Week. If there’s one thing Rain always tries to do, it’s support his friends when it comes to their projects, right? ^@@^

On 4/14, Rain promised to make an important announcement on Monday the 15th. He kept his word, and dropped the news on his personal Instagram AND on Instagram Live about the next stop on his continuing Still Raining concert tour that began last November in the U.S.!
The next city where it will still be Raining is Seoul, Rain’s home turf. On his Instagram Live, he shared the dates — June 8 (Saturday) at 6 PM KST and June 9 (Sunday) at 5 PM KST — and the where, Olympic Hall music venue in Seoul Olympic Park (a.k.a. Jamsil Olympic Park). It’s been 9 years since his last Korean concert, so the domestic Clouds and fans must be over the moon and we don’t blame them. If we run across an English translation of all he was saying in Korean, we’ll be sure to post it here.
As far as we know, the tentative list of cities he plans to bring the tour to still stands, but nothing is chiseled in stone quite yet (except for Seoul). So, please stay tuned.

In a previous Instagram post, Rain promised to make an announcement today (4/15). Not only did he keep his word, it was about the continuation/extension of his Still Raining concert tour that began here in the States last November. Directly from Rain’s personal IG:“Hey everyone, this is RAIN. I’m thrilled to announce my solo concert in Korea. Get ready for an unforgettable experience because I’ll be pouring my heart and soul into every aspect of the show, from vocals to choreography and my visuals(?). I’m booking a hospital appointment after the show Can’t wait to see you all there!”
To repeat, as we understand it, the new concerts will be this upcoming June on the 8th (Saturday) and 9th (Sunday) at Olympic Stadium. More information, pre-sale tickets, and public ticket sales to come, so please stay tuned!

A cool thing — the 1MILLION Dance Studio in Seoul released a YouTube video of their 6-woman choreography team 1MILLION and some of their students getting down to “Bang Bang”… and surprise guest Rain getting down with them as well!
An even cooler thing — Rain’s crazy-popular YouTube channel Season B Season (시즌비시즌, now in its 4th season, I think?) dropped Episode 20, where our dancing king and 2 members of 1MILLION pranked their colleagues and 100 students by sneaking a disguised Rain into a choreo class.
To celebrate the grand opening of their Venetian Macau flagship store, sports brand K-SWISS invited Rain to help cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony and to special guest appear on their RE-BORN fashion show catwalk. Needless to say, he was cool and fabulous.
The videos remind us of when he enhanced the runway at his own clothing line fashion show back in 2009, also in Macau! Remember?
The K-SWISS audience and fashion models were going nuts because Rain was there. I could swear one of the models waved furiously at him while they were both on the runway! So cute.
YES!! A teaser has just come down from the Powers That Be that Rain and his brand new TV drama Red Swan will be coming to Disney Plus. From genius surgeon (in 2022’s Ghost Doctor) to skillful bodyguard with a secret! A little birdie tells us it should be in the second half of 2024. The IMDb page says it’s one season and 10 episodes, but time will tell on that.
Watching Ghost Doctor a second time is going to be every bit as satisfying as the first broadcast on Channel tvN overseas, woo hoo! We absolutely love Uee’s performance as Rain’s love interest. She was really convincing and made a good doctor herself. The entire cast was a delight, I must say. It does not have the usual, overused K-drama conflicts, and we were on the edges of our seats.
Let’s thank Netflix by watching the heck out of this 2022 medical supernatural melodrama. Let’s gooooooo 📺 ^@@^

The 사랑의열매 (Fruit of Love) Social Welfare Community Chest of Korea is a South Korean nonprofit organization launched in 1998 and is the only government-sanctioned charity in that country. It is South Korea’s largest welfare institution and supports various welfare organizations. This past September, Rain and the lovely Chuu (formerly of girl group Loona) became spokespersons for Fruit of Love and filmed the charity’s year-around advertisement. ^@@^

18 YEARS WITH RAIN.
As our plane from Atlanta to Las Vegas came in for a landing at McCarran International Airport, I was still in complete disbelief. Despite the 4-hour+ flight that Terri and I had just endured, I couldn’t quite believe I was now in the same city as Rain.
After becoming a diehard Rain fan way back in the summer of 2006, I dreamed of seeing those Magic Feet perform in person. But when setting up our Rain promotional site much later (after Ninja Assassin was released in theaters) I put that expectation completely on the back-burner.
You see, when we Besties co-founded Cloud USA in January 2010 (because we couldn’t find a U.S. fan club to belong to except one that was impossible to get in), we did so with the clear understanding that Rain belonged to Korea. We knew the odds were we would never see him with our own eyes, ever. Besides, making sure English speakers had his news, schedules, albums and goods was the paramount mission — it wasn’t about us. With full-time jobs, sick family members to take care of, household expenses that took up our money and home obligations galore, we accepted all of that and went about our business instead of fretting over it.
Terri and I have lived vicariously through all the wonderful domestic and global Clouds and fans who’ve shared their fan cams and fan accounts through the years, and what a glorious time it’s been!
The wheels of our plane touched down. I was jolted back to the reality Terri and I had made happen together with opportunity and lots of luck. I was in Las Vegas for the very first time in my life, and Rain was here too.
Power couple goals: The CF also showcases Kim Tae Hee! The title of RAIN Company’s blog post is something to the effect of: [Rain] Today’s Healthy Life! One experience is worth more than a thousand words!
We could not have done it without all of you, and our beloved staff, through the years. 🏠 We’re so grateful for the love and support Rain fans and Cloud sisters have always shown. Most importantly though, thank you for showing Rain the love he deserves! Happy Sunday, fam! 😘❤️
