MTV’s Summer Music Tweet Tracker…

… is now up and active.

Our last encounter with this lovely piece of MTV goodness (it was the bane of our existence, I recall) was during the live 2010 MTV Movie Awards when Rain topped the board and stayed somewhere on it for quite a while (at the expense of our Twitters, which we burned out in the process).  As we understand it, this is to cover summer music in general, what Tweeters are talking about at the moment.

Whether there is any type of time limit or cut-off period isn’t clear, and more than likely there isn’t.  So, as you go about your summer days, don’t forget to always #Rain at the end of every Tweet.  » OR you can Tweet directly on the Tracker itself, HERE.  Okay?  Good show.

(Thanks to Jax for the tip!)  Let’s get our man up on the board.

  1. I wasn’t gonna talk about this but it is relevant to this at one time MTV never played black music and MJ broke that barrier (RIP)and they very slowly started playing our music then it was yo MTV raps some may know this anyway RAIN brings the fire with him I mean he has the followers and clout its just MTV is very slow to recognize what the people really want and by the way after our music was getting to some air time they opened a second MTV2 for rock, heavy metal etc. So even though this is bullsh** that’s the way it is maybe some day our nations will all come together because after all music is the international language and I for one can’t wait to see our Korean brothers and sisters music and other countries as well so until then we have to use our voices to open their slow closed minds RAIN and MBLAQ forever!!!!! MY LOVE ALL!!

  2. Well, this goes right along with what I’ve been saying for a long time: Real Clouds #Rain.

Read my original article about this subject on our projects page here: called “Real Clouds #Rain (Or what the heck does Justin Bieber have to do with Rain, other than the same hairdo?)”

  3. I have not been able to determine that this tracker is picking up on #Rain or any sort of the form of Rain. I can sit there and watch other names go by and they don’t even have # attached to it and they track. I think that it is because MTV has not put his name there to be picked up. Could be wrong. Don’t know….I have joined with some others in trying to find out from MTV. So far we have gotten no answers. Playing it safe by adding #Rain to tweets though ^ ^ If we find out anything someone will let you know.

I’m also going to try watching it in the stripped setting. For all I know Rain may have been one of those unidentifiable scraps in the cloud setting :p

    • Thanks, glen. This is information we definitely need so that we know how to proceed…
