So, as a friend and fan and I were watching Rain videos from his recent Seoul Cultural Award appearance, we noticed that though he was really happy to win the award, he seemed most interested in one of his youngest fans, a little girl who presented him with his congratulatory flowers. That’s when he got the biggest smile on his face, and in turn she seemed most taken with him as well!

Rain seemed to grab her and run!

Rain DID have a special smile for the little boy as well. Too cute!

Rain has admitted on several interviews that he really wants daughters when the time comes for him to marry and add to his family. I’m thinking he wishes that was sooner rather than later, as the pictures from his recent interview from China show him enjoying their company, he was interviewed concerning his Korea-China Youth Environment Protection ambassadorship.

Here he is surrounded by some of his youngest fans! Awwww, look at that smile! He comes alive!

Rain loves his fans of all ages, and this fan is no exception.

Rain babies, can’t wait to see what this gorgeous man is like as a daddy!

[*ETA 3/2: The name of this song was mistranslated by the original translator. It is “Treasure” and NOT “True Love.” We thank Kongsao for the tip and Scorpiola for the following information:

“The name of his song is “珍愛” in Chinese, that means “Cherish” or “Treasure”, they both written the same in Chinese (saw they put “Treasure” in English news, so it should be called “Treasure” I think), but it definitely does NOT mean “True Love” as someone spreading every where. The lyrics of it is about cherish the environment, nothing about ‘True Love’, except loving the environment, loving the Earth.

“珍愛” means “Treasure” or “Cherish”, and ‘True Love’ in Chinese is written like “真愛”. They are totally 2 different characters with 2 different meanings even their pronounciations are similar.” — Scorpiola]

Yes, this is the promotional tune that Rain has recorded in connection with his Chinese-Korean green ambassadorship. It sounds wonderfully patriotic and full of good will, like something Olympic, yes? And his voice in Chinese is as gorgeous here as it is in every other language.

As we understand it, he has also recorded a Korean version.

Movie “The Red Muffler – 2011” is thing of the issue [the talk of the town ^@@^] with its powerful lead and supporting cast.

This movie is an air action blockbuster about the Korean Air Force pilots and their risky missions to resolve the volatile situations at the Korean Peninsula. The megaphone is in the hands of director Kim Dong-weon and this will be the first time in Korea for pilots to be the subject matter and first time for air battle scenes.

Rain had previously selected this project to be his last before he serves in the army, after the drama “The Fugitive Plan B” at the end of last year. His partner to lead with him is rising star of Chungmuro, Sin Se-kyeong.

Not only Rain and Sin Se-kyeong but Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Sung-soo, Lee Ha-na and other veteran actors are in the line up. In addition, Jeong Seok-won who is well known for being an actor from the Marine Corps and Lee Jong-suk who played Sun in “Secret Garden” and rose to stardom right away.

Oh Dal-soo, who hit it off really well with Kim Myeong-min in movie “Detective K” is also eagerly looking through the conditions of being on board.

A person in the movie said, “The actors are currently working hard in action schools. The movie will start shooting sometime in mid-March”.

It is expected that this movie will present air action scenes and brilliant speed like never seen before in the country with the help of professional air shooting team, that shot movies like “Inception”, “Con Air”, “Dark Knight”, “Maha 2.6” and “Stealth”.

As you all know, of course, the 7th Korean Cloud executive board’s 8th Cloud Recruitment period for fans who wish to join Rain’s official Fan Club is in full swing, with the difference being that this year, English-speaking fans the world over are able to join their Asian fan sisters in becoming official Clouds. That this is actually happening is quite an historical moment in JiHoon’s career. I hope he is as astounded and as pleased by it as we are. In any case, as we have always pointed out, to join up or not to join up is a personal decision on every individual’s part—no harm, no foul. Whether you are a Cloud or a fan, you are welcome at Cloud USA.

That said, we do hope that many of you will join us in going “Green Cloud.” JiHoon is poised to truly make the U.S. one of his “stomping grounds”, and the truth of it is no one knows how far off or how soon that might start to happen. You don’t want to miss out on any really special stuff that might come down the pike. Just sayin’.

Just letting you know.  I didn’t want any of you to get worried if you are getting a “Problem Loading Page” error, or any other type of error when you try to visit our website. (The media blog is not affected.)

Apparently, some people are able to access the site right now and some aren’t.  We’re not sure why.

According to our web-host’s tech support, they are doing some site maintenance and working very hard to get the site back up and running. There’s currently no estimated time of resolution, but as soon as it’s back up, I’ll let you all know in the comments on this post, okay?

Again, just like last month… we realized that both of JiHoon’s Cosmopolitan/CosmoMen photo shoots in the spring of 2010 happened before we began offering calendar wallpaper in August. And as those pictures rank among our favorite things that Rain did last year, we just had to revisit them. They’re just too gorgeous to ignore.

As always, Japanese Cloud calendar wallpaper doesn’t usually come available to fans outside of the official J.Tune-sanctioned club until later in the month… and so when it does, we’ll be sure to add it here for you.

The 2nd annual Korea Seoul Culture Art Grand Prize Awards ceremony was held in Olympic Sport Stadium on February 28th, at 7:00 pm.

The pictures show Rain posing for photographers and stating his feelings about having received the award during the ceremony.

Artists who had been most active in the entertainment and culture worlds in 2010, were selected as the winners of the awards, and Rain was selected as one of the winners of the awards, [particularly] in the category of “World Star Grand Prize.”

Actually, I wanted to be kissed from these kids rather than receive the award. Like I’ve said several times in the past, I really want to have such a girl [daughter ^@@^] if I get married.

Anyway, I wonder how I dare to deserve this award I’ve never heard of. I’d like to thank you all for this wonderful award.

Dare I say, I’ll continue to do it to the best of my ability as a singer and actor to do such a great work that would fit with the image of the name of the award.

This recent interview, televised yesterday as we understand it, seems to concern JiHoon’s humble beginnings and hardships and how they’ve made him the Rain we know today (thanks for that tip, RedCloud). It also seems to convey just how much the Chinese respect him.

[Cloud USA Instructions] The 8th Cloud Membership Drive Has Begun!

Hello, Lovely Clouds!

You know what time it is?  It’s finally time for The Cloud’s 8th Cloud Membership Drive.  Are you ready?  We sure are!

Below you will find the complete instructions for:

  1. Making your membership fees payment for the 8th Cloud Membership Drive of The Cloud, Rain’s official fan club.
  2. Registering for membership in The Cloud fan club using their official ‘membership registration form’

Special thanks to Cloud Rose Hoong for creating an official payment and application guide for this process.  We have borrowed heavily from her guide for this post.  Her guide was extensive, detailed, and a HUGE help to us as we maneuvered our way through the PayPal payment and Cloud registration systems.   Because of her efforts, our own membership fees were transferred and our application was processed without a hitch!  So, thank you, Rose!  :-} ^@@^

We also want to send our heartfelt thanks to Heidi Li, who is serving The Cloud as their ‘overseas membership supporter.’  She is working very hard behind the scenes to make sure that all of our overseas membership applications are handled with the utmost care.  Thank you, Heidi! :-} ^@@^

One of the most important things you need to know is that BEFORE you can apply to become an official member of The Cloud fan club, you must already be a registered user of The Cloud fansite HERE.  You can find instructions on how to register as a user on The Cloud fansite HERE.

So now, without further ado, here’s how to become an official member of The 8th Cloud.

The 8th Cloud Membership Drive

Application Period: 2/21/2011 – 3/20/2011 Korean Standard Time (KST)

Effective Date: The date your membership application is approved by The Cloud.  At that time, your status will be upgraded from a ‘fansite user’ (gray cloud) to a ‘regular fan club member’ (green cloud).  Regular members will have access to the ‘Cloud-Filled Room’ on the fansite (구름가득한방)

Rain about town: The Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant in Malaysia.

Looks like Rain and Crew stopped in and ate at one of the Daorae restaurants, during the Rain’s Coming world tour stop at Kuala Lumpur. And nearly everything I’ve read up to this point says that Daorae very well may be one of the BEST eating places when it comes to Korean food in Malaysia. If I ever find myself in that country, I should definitely drop in.

If I’m lucky, I’ll land in the one where JiHoon’s picture displays him larger than life.

[fan cams] Revisiting 2009: Rain pours his heart out…

… at the Lotte Family Concert that spring of 2010, in the midst of his SixToFive photo shoots and other activities. In a few short months he would visit the SixToFive stores for book signings, be hit with Michael Jackson’s death on his birthday, go to the Alps for an ELLE magazine shoot and O’live TV special, begin his Legend of Rainism tour, promote Ninja Assassin‘s premiere across the world, and see to MBLAQ’s first debut.

As always, a busy beaver.

And a Bonus: As we recall, this is also where JiHoon did one of the most subtly sensuous “Love Story” performances ever, and so we’re posting it again. The whole thing is s-w-e-e-t, but minute markers 1:29 and 1:52 are The Stuff. Just sayin’.
