Because one mention is never enough, is it? (Just call me greedy, on JiHoon’s behalf, and I’ll answer.) I’m still smiling over how his Style Hustler article stats (tweets, facebook mentions, comments, etc.) blew everyone else’s on the WHOLE STYLE BLOG out of the water. Thumbs up.

[ORIGINAL POST]
It occurred to us the other day that, seeing as we began providing calendar wallpaper in August 2010, we completely missed doing one that was Back To The Basic in nature. The “Love Song” and “Hip Song” comeback stages were long over, and we were all into Rain phones and Fugitive and JiWoo by that time. Poor JiHoon probably figured we skipped B2TB because we didn’t like it… and nothing could be further from the truth! We loved his long- and short-haired Glam and European epicene beauty, oh yes we did. And we adored the blue eyes he picked for a few of the shots. Woah….
And so, for this month, we decided to take our hats off to JiHoon’s utterly striking B2TB creativity.
*Please note: Calendar wallpaper from the Japanese Cloud (J.Tune Camp Rain Japan) will be posted here as soon as it comes available. And oh, it is going to be so worth the wait this month! The preview of it that we’ve seen is a handsome shot of our retro-fitted Rain on his ADIEU stage. ♥
Have a terrific February, everybody!

The Lunar New Year (also called the Chinese New Year, and Seollal in S. Korea) comes this week, on February 3. Happy Year of the Rabbit to Rain and to all our Asian sisters and friends! Santockki! Everyone in S.Korea became one year older on the Solar New Year, January 1, rather than on their actual birth date as the rest of us do internationally. For anyone who needs it, here is some good reading for you on those subjects: » Just how old is Jung JiHoon? by Stephe. » What’s my age again? at 10Magazine. » Watch out for flying stones! Pyongyang, Stone Battles, and the Lunar New Year at 10Magazine.
And last but certainly NOT least: JiHoon shot a new commercial spot in S.Korea a couple of days ago, and his handsomeness and style in the thing is going to blow your socks OFF. (Let’s just say he makes a plain white shirt look like it cost a million bucks.) Oh, and he will be spending this Lunar holiday with his family, rather than traveling for work as usual. (And you’ve got to wonder what other little tidbits will suddenly come our way… JiHoon’s always got something unexpected up his sleeve and usually kills two or three birds with one stone. He’s good like that.) Thumbs up!
…for all Hawai’ian Clouds, and for Cloud USAers who are able to make it to Moanalua High School in Honolulu, Oahu for all the fun! Please see the invitation below for Hearts with Bi 2011, from Geri, head of the Hawai’ian Cloud. We hope some of you can make it.
Do enjoy this special report about the making of I’m A Cyborg, But That’s OK, starring Rain and Im SuJeong, with French subtitles. Perhaps our French sisters will give us a hand with the dialogue? 🙂
And if not, no worries. The visuals alone are worth watching, and if you’ve seen the movie, what’s going on should be simple to guess anyway, right?
Rain and SuJeong were most excellent in this movie. It will always be one of our favorites, because of the brilliance of it and the characters. (Dang! She slapped him in so many takes, he had to put ice to his face. Good job, girl! ROFL!) And if watching this only makes you want to have another go at Stephe’s #1 Rated Korean Kiss Ev-Vah, that’s over at the bottom of our Bi Amazed page.
Have fun with all this Cyborg goodness!

Rain’s fan club organizes its own society for its regular support of Africa’s children Source: Sports Hankook English translation: rain bird @rain-eu. Released: 1/31/2011
Singer and actor Rain’s fans have decided to do a good deed regularly.
Benamoo, one of his fan clubs, has made a concerted effort to help Africa’s children.
This fan club is regularly to contribute to the child poverty action group under Rain’s name, organizing its own society in support of Africa’s children.
Benamoo which has given to those who need whenever some social issues are addressed, has decided to regularly do something valuable and meaningful with the coming of the new year. The members’ supporter ID card will be issued, and they’ll do worthwhile things under Rain’s name.
Rain’s fans from 12 countries around the world donated twelve million KRW to Good Neighbors in celebration of the first broadcast of KBS 2TV drama ‘The Fugitive Plan B’ starring Rain late last year.
I mean, what a treat. Not only did JiHoon pull out, dust off, and give the Japanese fans what I call their signature song, “FreeWay” (his second Japanese career release), he also re-staged his first Japanese career release “Sad Tango” back to its original state (with a commando twist), after doing it Spanish tango encore style for a good while.
On the surface, the ZEPP tour was a fun, intimate date between JiHoon and his fans. But underneath the waters, it was (and said) so much more. When you read between the lines, it gives a LOT of insight into what is most important to Rain…
This was a pretty special performance during the 2010 Rain Loves ZEPP Japan tour, last summer, for several reasons. Firstly, few of us had ever seen “FreeWay” performed on stage at all—just the original music video. Secondly, “FreeWay” (Rain’s second Japanese single, released June 2006… the first was “Sad Tango” in January 2006) was only released in Japanese, and to Japanese fans, as far as I know, which made it their signature song and pretty much endeared him to them forever. Which shows a lot of thought on his part when it came to the ZEPP tour… he didn’t fail to include their special song in their tour, regardless of how long it had been since he’d last performed it.
Thirdly, Rain and Crew looked like they had a blast with it. Hongshi looked good—REALLY good, flashing that smile of his. You get a nice little bit of KyuSang and YongDeock, yeah. Such cuties! SungTak gets a quick moment of his handsome mug in the clip too, as do the Women behind the Man. And JiHoon himself was dancing up and laughing up a storm.
Do enjoy revisiting a ride on the Osaka freeway, all…!

Lee Joon, of the popular idol group MBLAQ, has been selected as one of the four hosts of a new SBS program tentatively being called Star Meeting.
Filming for “Star Meeting” began on January 20, and the show is set to begin airing on February 2. During a telephone interview with Money Today’s Star News, Lee Ji Won PD said that the show would feature two “corners” during which the star subjects would meet, go on a date and then meet each others’ families.
Two of the show’s first star subjects are IU and Kim Tae Woo. Tae Woo and IU (who had chosen Tae Woo as her “original ideal type”) met in the Hongdae section of Seoul and shared a meal together. The show’s other three hosts are actor/singer/musician Tak Jae Hoon, comedian Lee Soo Geun and comedienne Shin Bong Sun.

It’s been good seeing the Boys back on the scene these past days, and I tell you, there is something about this particular performance of “Stay”, on the January 29 broadcast of Music Core, that makes me grin like a mofo.
Maybe it’s how well they all control their voices throughout the song, regardless of what they are doing (which ain’t easy for anyone except Rain). Maybe it’s how well they pull off the sparkle fingers/dazzle fingers/jazz hands/spirit fingers/whatever you like calling it, especially after their earlier concerns about being able to do so (Rain hyung looks good doing that, but us…? Ehh… not so sure). Maybe it’s a fresh new charisma I’m picking up here—all five of them seem to be exuding this I am so hot I can’t stand my damn self vibe. Even Mir and Thunder, while they’re rapping, are like I am the sh!+. Trust. 🙂
Maybe it’s because the top of Joonie’s outfit strongly reminds me of Rain hyung‘s original sexy Mandarin-style “Bad Guy” shirts, which suited young Rain so perfectly at the time, because of the way it drapes to the side.
More than likely, it’s all of the above rolled up into one big ball of wax. Thanks, MBLAQ, for a fine performance. Keep pushing it. Keep getting the job done.

Stephe has been super duper busy for the past few days, and it hasn’t slowed down for her yet. It will be a few more hours before she will be able to get back to her computer. So, I thought I would help her out by posting this week’s Rainy Day episode.
I know her running commentary is always to die for, and I know I can’t possibly match her wit and grace. But I wanted to try anyway, because she’s a little overwhelmed these days. So…here goes nuthin’…
Presenting Rain’s Rainy Day, Season 2, Episode 51: Asian Broadcast 1/29.
Awwww…the Zepping in Osaka continues as we’re treated to a soft and sexy performance of one of my favorite songs, September 12. So sweet. Just like Rain. :-} He put his hand over his heart at 52 seconds in and I was melting…exactly like he knew I would, darn him! Ha ha. I loved everything about this performance. So sincere, so special. So Rain.
Next we revisit Sangdoo, Let’s Go to School with the sweet Because I Know (or You Know). I LOVE it when he steps down off the main stage. Watch that crowd go WILD! Heh heh. But that ain’t all, folks. It’s like he suddenly decides: Heck, I need to get closer. So, he starts waving to and shaking hands with as many of his Clouds as he can…all the while performing the song flawlessly. Amazing.
And then the song ends and he’s ducking behind the scrim, where the now infamous “silhouetted costume change” takes place. *Chuckle* Just look at him. He banters with his Clouds as he slowly pulls off his shirt and then s-l-i-d-e-s those pants lower…and then even l-o-w-e-r. LOL. What a tease! Little did we know back then that Rain would top this moment with a “backstage-change-cam” at his Adieu Concert. Heavenly days ahead! :-}
After the final moments of the costume change, Part 2 begins with Sad Tango in high-military fashion. It’s a cool look for some of my favorite choreography. Unfortunately, much of the cool dancing is edited out, but that’s okay, because it isn’t long before we move right into a hothotHOT performance of Touch Ya.
Oh, oh, oh! Baby, you got my permission. To touch me, that is. Anytime. No need to sing about it. (Yeah, I said it. So there.) You know? When I saw this, I thought this was one of the hottest performances of this song I’d ever seen. And I think I was right…at least until I saw his performance of Touch Ya on his Adieu Concert stage. What do you ladies think?
Still, this has got to be a very close second. When he snatches those sunglasses off of his face, I’m a goner. Gah. And then I’m grinning from ear to ear with his: “All my FELLAS! Come ON! UH UH! All my FELLAS! HEY! HEY!” *Chuckle.* Go, Baby, GO! (By the way, can anyone tell me what he’s saying at the very end there? I can’t hear it clearly enough and it’s driving me friggin’ crazy…)
And finally, we have Don’t Stop, which is spectacular…well, except for the weird disembodied faces and hands thingy going on around Rain. I know some of you will feel differently about that, and that’s cool. To each his own. But I gotta tell you, it doesn’t do much for me. Why? Well, mostly because this song is sexy as hell, and the lyrics, some of which I have provided in directly translated English below…
“Touch my body; my heart feeling like it’s going to explode
I can’t leave you anymore, so just
Watch me lose it; I’m at a loss for words at the way you move
I crumble at your touch, yeah.”
…have nothing to do with dancing men in black, or disembodied glowing faces and hands (although I gotta admit those hands were doing some really nice things right there…yes, they were…). Yeah, I KNOW the men dancing and creeping around in black are doing something incredibly difficult. I KNOW it takes a lot of talent to be creeping and glowing and dancing all at the same time. It really does. I’m TOTALLY aware of that. But it still sort of freaks me out anyway, okay? I can’t help it. I just can’t.
And yet, what does that really matter at the end of such a spectacular Rainy Day? Let me answer that question for you. It doesn’t. Not one bit. Because frankly, Rain’s hot. REALLY hot. In fact, he’s hotter than a noon sun on an August afternoon in Georgia. And, like I said, that’s REALLY hot. So, after awhile, I forgot all about the creeping, glowing, disembodied faces and hands, because I was focusing on Rain. You see? Ha ha. :-}
And with that, the episode ends until next week. At least we HOPE there’s an episode 52. There was an episode 52 last season. So, we’re being optimistic over here in Cloud USA land and praying like hell for one more Rainy Day.
Come on, MNet. Just one more. That’s all we ask.
Pretty, pretty please?
Terri :-}

Part 1/2:
Here is proof positive that Rain is one of the BEST entertainers walking the earth for the past eight years. Not to mention, he is doing all of that dancing while singing into a LIVE mic. Every bit of fame he has garnered… he earned the hard way.
And this has got to be one of the best (if not THE best) live performance compilations I’ve ever seen. Excellent. Have fun, all…!
Thanks for sharing your work with Rain fans everywhere, DareDB.

Please enjoy this breathtaking performance of “Not A Single Day” (Harudo) and “Familiar Face”, from early in the LoR tour.
Oh my heavens, Rain’s stage presence is just… Wow. And his voice. Oh, his voice. He pours his WHOLE self into these songs so much that every time I see this, it just gets better. He isn’t just singing… he’s living in the moment and swearing that every single word is true.
And even if you don’t understand S.Korean, you believe him.

Waaaay back in “Blast from the past” history here, we brought you some broadcast footage from this utterly COOL performance at the MBC’s Songs Festival during the 2008 Christmas/New Year holidays. (Unfortunately, a lot of that—Rain’s Trampoline Dance, Rainism, the dance battle/passing the torch between JYP and Rain—has been scrubbed by YouTube.)
Up to this point, I’ve only seen just that… the MBC TV footage. I had no idea that THERE WERE FAN CAMS of it. My eyes are bugging out right now.

… but THIS does, in place of it. Name change alert! (I can’t bring up the SixToFive/RAINBOX or the J.Tune Creative Ltd. website links either, sooo… will we be seeing more “draftworks” popping up, or is this merely transitional?)
Introducing DRAFTWORKS, everybody. The new website link isn’t working yet, at least not for me at the time of this posting. Things are obviously very much still “in the works”, so let’s just watch for a while, and see how this all ends up panning out. Should be interesting…

Do bear in mind, however, that as of this posting we have not seen any confirmation of this show from either J.Tune or the Man himself.

*flails* Well this story actually begins on Sat 23rd Jan at 1am!! (so technically it was sunday lol) This is the time when I heard that Rain was going to make a public appearance in London at the MCM store. I managed to find the official Facebook page which confirmed this information, so then OMG I totally freaked out! I mean the whole can’t breathe light-headed OMG I AM GOING TO MEET RAIN FEELING!
After hearing this news I ’ran’ to Terri to shout at her if it was true and we deduced it was seeing as he does work for MCM, so then I freaked out more. I booked train tickets then sorted out my CloudUSA Press pass and started to get everything ready for Tues, so throughout Saturday and Monday all I did was spazz for Tuesday haha.
Everything I took, CloudUSA press pass, CloudUSA business cards and my Rain’s world album! which common I couldn’t not take (double negative GO ME!) – you know, just in case he would sign people’s stuff.
[Cloud USA] Well, all…! Stephe here. What an amazing day January 25th turned out to be for Rain fans who descended on Sloane Street in Knightsbridge, London, to attend the MCM Boutique London RAIN Event.
One of those fans was our Cloud USA forum moderator and new Cloudburst London Fog group leader, a dynamic young lady that many of you know as the Purplezest‘ed One. Katie, our U.K. Connection and Queen of GIFs, did a fantastic job as our on-the-scene correspondent, and we knew that she would. She completely tired herself out though, like a champ, and will get her fan account/report to me for posting sometime later today.
In the meantime, I wanted to submit a pre-report for those of you who have been eagerly waiting for Cloud USA coverage. So here we go!
One of the first things Katie said to us was how much Rain was smiling throughout the event. He was smiling even more while outside talking to fans and signing autographs. He seemed really comfortable with the crowd (went right up and down shaking hands, and even signed autographs when he was leaving). He was thirty minutes late (I did notice that myself), but stayed extra minutes to make up for it, so he was there the whole hour, as promised. She got to the boutique early and bought her item, an MCM Apple iPhone case, right at the beginning, and so that meant… for a little while, only she and some MCM personnel were down in the autograph area with Rain.
*pausing while everyone goes Ooooooooo!* 😀
It was rather odd, in her opinion, that when she did get down to the signing area, the MCM staff were simply staring at him. She was thinking to herself, Ehh… talk to the guy! Did she have the guts to talk to him herself? You know Katie. Yes. Yes, she did.
Katie: “I’m from Cloud USA.” *points to her ID*
Rain: *looks down at it* “Ahhhhhh… yes.” *smiles at her*
*pausing while everyone spazzes for a minute* 😀
He also asked her her name, which she told him, of course. She also told him that she hoped he enjoyed London. He smiled again, with a “Yes” and a nod. That, as we understand it, is where he got down to the business of signing her item. I’ll let her expound on further conversation, and shaking his hand twice and such a bit more in her fan account.
No photos were allowed taken down there, but there was really no need anyway with MCM’s professional photographer on hand. The photog took video of the folks waiting outside as well as still shots as fans went down to see Rain. When Katie receives her professionally taken photos (they will be sent to the fans by email), of course she’ll let you know on the forum and we’ll let you know here.
(Should I tell you how she said Rain’s lips in person are to DIE for? Sure, why not?) Rain’s lips are to DIE for, everybody. Pictures do not do those lips justice, according to your Woman on the Street. Oh, and psssst… he signed her Rain’s World album too. Ha!
I have to tell you all that when Katie » sent us these pics and videos while chatting with us after she’d gotten home last night (and Terri and I had gotten in from our local writers’ group meeting), she HAD to have heard us having fits over them, all the way to England, because they were so darned pretty.
We knew she would hit it out of the park (this is one hardworking gal here, folks). Please join us in congratulating Katie on a job well done. We are grateful, and so happy that she got to see and experience Rain in the flesh. She really deserved that.
And congrats to Rain on such a pleasant turnout. You were so gracious to your U.K. fans, JiHoon… but then again, we expected no less of you. You’re a gracious kind of guy, and we love that.
