Who’s got K-Pop’s hottest summer body?
After MTV K readers eagerly crowned their Top Sexiest Female and Male Idols, we thought we’d be done drooling over the idol hotties for a while.
We thought wrong.
With beach season fast approaching, why not celebrate with some delicious eye candy? MTV K’s latest Top Ten poll features the hottest summer bodies of the K-Pop idol world, and we need YOU to decide who’s got the ultimate beach body!
If all were fair in love and K-pop, then this would be Korea’s Top 100 Summer Bodies (and include drop-dead gorgeous celebs like actors Lee Minho and Baek Sung Hyun)! …But it’s not, so instead, we’ve narrowed it down to the hottest idol group members!
In no particular order, here are the candidates for the Top Ten Summer Bodies in K-Pop! Now it’s up to you to vote for the idol you think has the best summer body!

Back in ’09, MTV Iggy reviewed what was to be Rain‘s breakthrough Hollywood film, Ninja Assassin: “Rain went from an adorable bubblegum pop-star to a chiseled leading man who can squeeze grapes in the ridges of his new six-pack.” Can’t say it any better than this! How will his fans survive during the two year drought after he begins his military sentence this summer?!

Please enjoy this, part of Rain’s performance at the Mid-Autumn Festival in China (Beijing, I believe?), way back on September 25, 2007. It was a little rough, as most live performances are when it comes to sound, timing, etc., but I certainly enjoyed watching it—he was adorable and the audience was crazy about him. At the time, Speed Racer had wrapped and he was waiting on the movie’s premiere, and he had a concert stop in his world tour coming up right there in China in October.
(Believe it or not, there were some fans on KPop blogs out there who complained because they considered him chubby and fat in this performance. Even though he was still the same size as his character, professional race car driver Taejo Togokhan. O_o?? If you think Rain is overweight here, you’ve either fallen and slammed your head on some concrete, or you’ve been smoking crystal meth. Get some help.)

{*Edited to Add 6/17: As we understand it, Rain covered and was featured in Men’s Uno for the first time in 2004. So that makes three times that we know of.^@@^}
What a delight to find that Men’s Uno HK has a Facebook presence where you can get Rain’s June 2011 cover in all its magnificent glory! We look forward to seeing and hearing more about his feature story inside the magazine from fans who have purchased it, in the days to come.
The really nice thing is that MCM’d Rain having the June cover means he might be Men’s Uno HK‘s Facebook profile pic for the whole month (as well as the » profile pic in the header of their official Weibo blog). How about that for a treat?
To our knowledge, the last time Rain rode the Men’s Uno Hong Kong, Men’s Uno China, and Men’s Uno Taiwan trains was back in June 2009. Here we are, two years later almost to the day. And just like then, his beauty is breathtaking.

Rain to Become Free Agent Before Military Service Begins
On May 31, a representative from Rain’s camp reported that “Rain’s contract with JYP Entertainment” would end in October. According to all of the news reports floating around, Rain doesn’t appear to have yet made plans to renew his contract with JYPE. On the other hand, he hasn’t said he wouldn’t either. The point may be moot anyway, as he is set to start his military service by the end of 2011.
JYP Entertainment became Rain’s talent management agency by default, way back in February, when J. Tune Entertainment, Rain’s former agency, merged with JYP Entertainment. As no new contract was signed at that time, Rain’s old contract with J. Tune Entertainment remained in force. Thus, when his contract expires at the end of October, Rain will effectively become a free agent.
What that means for Rain no one knows. It may be that he will choose not to sign with anyone else until after his military service is complete. After all, he will be gone for almost two years. Then again, he may decide to go ahead and bite the bullet and sign up with another agency who will keep the irons in the fire and hot for him while he is gone. Either way, we don’t think Rain will have any problems finding work when he returns, do you?
Rain recently wowed a sold-out house at the Semperopera venue in Dresden, Germany, when he performed a joint mini-concert with world renowned prodigy cellist Jan Vogler, during the Dresden Music Festival. He is currently busy shooting the feature film, Flight: Close to the Sun and working on a new album, which was previously set to be released in April, but was postponed for reasons unknown. Rain fans are hopeful that the album will drop before his military service begins. Time will tell.

A behind-the-scenes glimpse of how Rain maintained a professional demeanour throughout the filming of a Lotte Duty-Free Shop commercial
By: W / 92hyewon @TwitLonger, 6/1/11

English translation: rain bird @rain-eu.
— ^@@^
The mood of the set was great because of Rain.
Rain who was alleged to have come back just now after finishing his work abroad, looked awfully tired.
However, he masterfully depicted the characters in the ads, making some comical gestures before shooting but participating in the shooting with eager attention when the shooting actually started, which was absolutely admirable.
So, throughout the filming of the commercial, the atmosphere was vibrant and full of energy with Rain getting into mischief as if his curiosity was aroused when asked to change his pose, or grooving to the sounds of the jukebox.
Also, he displayed his great attraction to the fullest in the shooting as everything he wore suits his well because of his well-proportioned figure.
By the middle of the shooting, the director loudly asked us to give a warm round of applause for Rain in case he would be mentally and physically exhausted, “Let’s have some applause for Rain working hard!”
World star Rain speaking so loudly as to reverberate through the studio, “Thanks for a job well done!” after finishing the shoot, deserved people’s love, I thought.

If you live in Hong Kong, you may come across one of the ten MCM trams. They are traveling through the city to announce the opening of our new flagship store in the Entertainment Building. We celebrated the opening in two parts… First, we invited selected just over 250 VIPs, press members, celebrities and socialites to a ribbon cutting ceremony and we followed it up with a wild party for 800 of our closest friends.
Models were there to showcase the collection to the media while they were waiting for the ceremony to start. The venue was filled with press and fans from 5pm. In total over 300 people witnessed the opening of our new flagship, it was quite the event!
Guests to the ribbon cutting included Michael Michalsky, MCM Advisory Creative Director, Sammi Cheung, Hong Kong Pop Star, Rain, Korean Superstar, Angela Ho, Entertainment building land lord, Werner Lauk, General Counsel of Germany in Hong Kong.

MBLAQ’s G.O. to release solo digital single this month
Boy band MBLAQ’s member G.O. is set to release a solo single this month, making it the first project the singer will take on alone.
An official at J. Tune Camp told 10Asia over the phone today that G.O., the main vocalist of MBLAQ, will release his first solo single in digital format.
The single will be composed of a single track — an R&B ballad tune both written and composed by the singer himself.
The official added, however, that no plans have been made for G.O. to promote the song through means such as televised shows or events.
G.O., 23, originally debuted through group TYKEYS in 2007 but two years later, he joined MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) composed of other members Seung-ho, Lee Joon, Chun-dung and Mir which debuted in 2009 with their single album “JUST BLAQ.”
His group then released their second single “Y” in May 2009, their first full-length album “BLAQ Style” in January this year and its 3D edition a month later.
The group, then advanced into Japan and saw their Japanese debut single “Your Luv” released in early May, place No. 2 on the country’s prestigious Oricon weekly chart after selling over 40,000 copies of their debut album which made them the first Asian artist to achieve the feat in just a week into their official debut.
The boys, having returned to Korea recently, are now working on their third single album.

Dear Lotte Duty Free:
That’s a major bee in your bonnet you got there.
Yes, after being on “May calendar hiatus” or whatever it was, both Rain and Big Bang are back in your Star Calendar wallpaper this month, along with all the new folks that came on board last month. And yes, Rain’s pictures are fresh and quite purrrrrdy. I actually thought that maybe you were turning over a new leaf as far as Rain was concerned. You almost had me.
Until I noticed that Rain’s June wallpaper has 31 days.
Just a simple mistake, right? So then… why do the other nine stars all have 30, the correct amount of days for June? ALL of them? Except for him? Seriously?
*laughing hysterically*

This is a very belated account of the Dresden Music Festival. As I did not follow our prince around and did not approach him for signature or anything, I could not provide much detail about our prince’s whereabouts and what he did. I am trying to share with you something about our prince from a different angle.
I met up with my friends and we waited for our prince at Dresden airport to welcome his arrival. The airport was small and quiet, we could see our prince clearly when he came out. He wore a blue (or black) jacket with large words on the front side, tight fitting rolled up jeans and the same gladiator sandals which he wore when he was filming Ninja Assassin. He looked chic, neat and elegant even after a long haul flight. He had his hat and sunglasses on and his face did not show any expression, but he shook hands with a few fans before he walked out and got into the car.
I had no idea beforehand that we would be staying at the same hotel as our prince (there was a more up market hotel nearby). Still, we decided not to follow him but our prince proved to be very approachable and conspicuous throughout his stay in Dresden.
The next day when we walked back after lunch, we saw our prince sitting at a table with his dancers and staff outside the hotel café. There were quite a number of fans further away at various tables but our prince seemed relaxed. He didn’t have his sunglasses on. We saw him signing for two European friends. My German friend also had a photo and a pen but was hesitant to walk up to our prince. I encouraged her on and she came back afterwards trembling and almost in tears.
This was what happened. She asked if our prince could sign for her. He replied “sure”, took the photo and signed, and then offered his hand to her for a hand shake. Despite her nervousness and excitement my friend had not failed to notice that our prince was wearing pierced jeans which revealed his nice leg as he sat, and he had big and warm hand. Later on when we looked at the signed photo we noticed our prince finger print on the edge of the photo. A signature with a finger print – imagining our prince eating like a child with his finger brought the super star prince so close to us, and the finger print was as treasured as the signature itself.
After about two hours when we went out of our hotel again we were quite surprised to see that our prince was still there. But he had changed to another table and had his sunglasses on. My friend took the opportunity to give him a hamper of gifts prepared in advance. It contained local goodies and our prince was surprised but pleased as he accepted it with grateful thanks.
The hot and sunny weather changed quite suddenly at about 6 pm when we arrived at the opera building. Dark clouds covered the sky with strong gusts of winds, and guessed what? It rained. We were not able to set up our banner and table for the donation project, and we might run out of time, but I explained confidently to a reporter who came to visit us that RAIN always brought rain when he held a concert. It was a good omen and the night would promise to be a huge success. I guessed he must have thought I was nuts… But promptly the rain stopped, and we had our first success with the donation project.
I was really surprised by the large number of European fans coming to the concert because of our prince. Young men and women, many of them students, gathered outside the concert hall. Some girls dressed up specially for the evening. They were well prepared too. They had banners like “I am a bad, bad girl”, congratulation words in Korean, and even a Korean flag. They gathered voluntarily to take a group photo and chanted “Jung Jihoon, Jung Jihoon”.

Well, those MCM sneakers and Jan’s cello case were “the stuff.” Plain and simple! I’m pretty sure that years from now, this collaboration will still be one of my absolute favorite projects from Rain. I’m so glad that he took part in it, and I have a newfound respect for Jan as well. 🙂

MCM Worldwide Blog 5/31/2011 —
Rain & Jan Vogler – ‘East-Meets-West’
The festival’s motto this year is “East Meets West.” This theme was optimally met during the evening hosted by MCM. The well-known cellist and artistic director Jan Vogler began the evening by playing Bach. Afterwards the sold-out Semper Opera morphed into a stadium: when Rain appeared on stage, the venerable opera house rocked with the pop sounds of the Korean star and reverberated with the screams of his fans, who had journeyed to Dresden from the four corners of the world to experience their idol live on stage.
Rain is Asia’s best-known star and has won first place in Time Magazine’s “People to Watch” list on several occasions. Taking the opera house by storm in his German debut, Rain impressively demonstrated his talents. A video installation introduced his act by showing the interplay between him and Vogler with footage of their first meeting. This was followed by collaborative pieces featuring Rain and Vogler in a dynamic stage show that united the best of the Orient and the Occident.
Additional attention was attracted by the MCM cello case which was made expressly for Jan Vogler and the MCM sneakers which Rain and his background dancers wore during their performance.

Hot Dude Of The Day: Rain Travels Around The World With Dapper MCM Accessories
So Rain is basically a pop singer GOD in Korea (and in our office, too). He’s kiiiinndd of like our Justin Timberlake. He sings, he dances, he acts, he even cares about FASHUN just like JT (his clothing line is called Six to Five. Obvi you can’t read anything on the site unless you know Korean, but STILL.) So we’re WELL AWARE of his hotness and his, um, ability to seduce us.
Luckily, Rain’s fans (who call themselves Clouds! AWWWW.) posted his latest campaign with German accessories house MCM, which OOZES of luxury travel. We can just imagine him rocking all of the next looks in different cities around the globe.
In his first ensemble, he’s totally Manhattan-ready with huge TRUNKS full of outfits for his weeklong stay in a Soho hotel. (What? The guy needs OPTIONS.) His studded leather vest makes him downtown cool, but it’s not too heavy for his summery long-sleeved white tee and cuffed khakis outfit. He finished his look with some comfy burgundy sneakers, which is perfect because, um, hello, you walk EVERYWHERE in NYC, and he’s being totally practical AND cute. The only bling is his amazing platinum watch and the sheen from his perfectly combed hair. With a vest that intricate, it’s best to keep it simple!
Next, Rain is off to Brazil in his smooth buttery-beige leather jacket, white tee, khakis, and printed high-top sneakers. This outfit screams South American adventure. He could go from off-roading in Jeep through the uncharted mountainous terrain and then directly to the poshest nightclub in the city and never bat an EYE at the possibility of switching up his outfit. We’re in to the all-around accessibility of this ensemble. Oh, and Rain’s all-around hotness.
Rounding up his tour around the globe, he lands in Italy. Of course this means he has to bust out ALL the high-end shiz he’s been holding back in these other cities. He’s got literally every type of luggage in existence (even including a leather DOG, apparently) and arrives ONLY in a black three-piece suit with a mauve tie and matching pocket square. In fact, he’s so EXHAUSTED from carrying all of his designer clothes into the hotel lobby, he takes a breather among all of his luggage (because he refused to sit on their nappy non-designer couch, obvi) before he heads up to his penthouse. Even though he’s sweating, no one can tell and his hair still looks flawless.

“The Best” tour successfully completed. Originally, I didn’t want to write Dresden fans account because it’s not updated news anymore. However, many sweet memories kept flowing in my mind. Just wanted to share with someone. I arrived Dresden on the 17th around 2pm. Vogler was on the same flight with me though. I didn’t know until I saw him at baggage claim section. He looked younger than the picture…haha. I was not sure if he was Vogler until I saw his exclusive MCM cello case. I walked towards him and tried to introduce myself.
“Are you Vogler?”
“Yes, I am.”
“I am Rain’s New York fan, I come for your and Rain’s concert on the 19th.”
Vogler said “Oh! From New York. I just came back from New York too. You only come for his concert, you are a real fan.”
I said “I am so curious about the concert. How can classical and pop music perform together?”
Vogler said “Rain and I will have our own parts. Then perform together. The bridge will be very amazing.”
I said “I can’t wait to see the concert. Is there any press conference before concert?”
Vogler said “I don’t think so. By the way, I don’t think Rain arrived Dresden yet.”
I said “Really! I heard that Rain has already arrived Dresden.”
He said “I don’t think so.”
His baggage came out and I was still waiting for my bag. After he left, I suddenly remembered that I should ask for autograph and photo. How stupid I am?
The connected flight of my Holland friend was delayed 2 hours. I had no choice and got to wait for her in airport. Dresden airport is very small, the ground floor is arrival and the second floor is departure. I went up and down and thinking about the day when Rain left Dresden.
About 7pm, I and my friend checked in hotel. At the lobby, I saw Rain’s manager. Oh! Did Rain stay in this hotel too? Did he arrive yet? However, Holland friend said he just sent message on twitter few hours ago. It looked like he was still in Seoul.
Dresden was a beautiful and quiet city. Our hotel was located near Semperoper and most of the tourists attraction. The hotel lobby is very small and there is only one glass elevator. How nice? I believed that it gives me more chances to see Rain.
Next day, we had more accurate information about Rain’s arrival time. Japanese fans said someone saw him in Frankfurt airport. My German friend arrived 4 hours before Rain’s flight. So, I told her waiting for us at airport. Holland friend and I took taxi airport. There were about 15 Japanese fans waiting for Rain; his flight was estimated to arrive at 9:25pm. Time flies, more fans including few German Cloud had arrived at airport. All these Asian faces alerted other Dresden citizen, they asked fans who we were waiting for…movie star something. Fans told them that we were waiting for a Korean superstar, Rain, who would perform with German famous cellist tomorrow.
Finally, we saw dancers and staffs appeared in baggage claim area. 15 minutes later, our prince finally appeared. He wore black hot, dark color jacket, grey color tees, black slim pants and roman style scandals. He wore sunglasses too. I didn’t stay near the first row. Per my experience, fans would jump to him when he arrived. I rather stepped back a little bit in order to see him clearly. Also, I tried to record the video. Not sure how I could walk backwardly…haha…but I did it very well this time. I faced to Rain (very closed), and held my camera walking backward. He occasionally turned his face to me. This fancam was one of the best video I had ever taken.
The best was nobody screaming although about 5-6 Japanese fans couldn’t wait to ask for handshakes from Ji Hoon while he exited from customs. Otherwise, all fans were following him to him. Nobody blocked my view.
I and my two friends (German and Holland) took taxi back to hotel. We were not in a hurry though because we realized that Rain stayed in our hotel. (Later, per my German friend said Rain originally should stay in other hotel, but he decided to stay with his dancers and staffs in same hotel). After an hour, our prince probably took a shower and changed clothes. He wore orange color long sleeves sweat shirt and black three quarter length pants. “Orange” color – wow…he probably wanted to make sure we wouldn’t lose him in the evening. Fans were waiting for him in front of hotel. Only 2 Japanese fans tried to follow him but he turned back and gave them signal “Please don’t follow.” OK! We understood. He needed some private time to have dinner with his staff and dancers. My eyes (what a wonderful eyes, my friend said) followed his shadow till he sat down on the outdoor table about 200 meters from us. Most of restaurants serve outdoor tables in Dresden. I and other fans decided to have our café and waited for him outside our hotel. Rain had about 2 hours dinner. Between the time, I joined other 2 fans sitting somewhere about 5 tables from his. He drank 2 glasses of beer and chatted happily with his dancers. They even took pictures to each other. About midnight, Rain went back to hotel, then we also returned to our hotel room.
My hotel room was on the 4th floor and Rain was on the 5th. The 6th floor was restaurant for breakfast. Around 9am, I got ready to have my breakfast with my Holland friend. I pressed the button and waited for the elevator. I didn’t stand in front the elevator door, instead I was on the side. Suddenly, I looked up…Oh! Rain was inside the elevator. Rain wore blue suit. He was ready to go out (later, I realized that he had a photo section with Vogler). The elevator stopped on our floor, elevator door opened. One Korean fans stood in front of the door, she bowed and said “good morning” to Rain. He nodded his head. What a nice morning…I got a feeling it would be a lucky day.

• NEWLY ADDED: A Classic Meets Pop event sub-page, under our IN CONCERT section under PAGES in our media blog sidebar, to your right. →
If anything deserves to be over there, it’s Rain and Vogler’s unique collaboration. Don’t you agree?
So please enjoy it.
Until next time…! 🙂

[tweet][article] Rain’s libelers indicted: What goes around, comes around, partner.
•June 1, 2011 • 11 Comments— Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^
God don’t like Ugly. *two finger-snaps in a Z* Internet newspaper “S”… as if we have no idea who that is, right? Y-e-a-h.
Far be it from us to enjoy anyone’s misfortune. But we are delighted to see JiHoon standing up for himself and burning folks who lie about him, » and the courts backing him up.
If the Man does indeed do something unscrupulous, then by all means go for it. » But no human being should ever try to destroy another human being’s life with a lie.
And you know this deeply affected Rain because he has never made a public statement, to our knowledge, that smacked of blatant retribution. All he has ever said, in those situations, is “If you wait, the truth will out.”
This is a good day indeed.

Seoul District Public Prosecutors’ Office indicts ‘Lee’ and two reporters on charges of spreading false reports about Rain
South Korean authorities have indicted ‘Lee’ (55), a businessman who works on clothes, ‘Kim’ (35) and ‘Yu’ (39) who work as investigative reporters for internet newspaper ‘S’ and news agency ‘N’, respectively, on charges of spreading false reports about Rain.
In March of last year, ‘Lee’ filed a complaint against Rain claiming that Rain embezzled company funds, and he even released the related information to the two reporters to let the papers soon get hold of the story. So, Rain sued the three for libel over the remarks last October.
Before this, the court ruled Rain not guilty at the end of December last year.

Tweets abounded as Rain had this to say when he tweeted the Kuki News article:
“사필귀정 , 인과응보” 남에게 해를 끼치면 분명히 다시 돌아오게 되어있습니다
‘Justice will prevail’, ‘What goes around comes around’. If you do anything that would harm others, you will definitely earn punishment.
