A good interview always gives a fan insight into what makes Jung JiHoon tick, right? Well, here is what had the Man ticking in 2007, during his Speed Racer era, after his gorgeous photo shoot for Louis Vuitton.

We hope you enjoy Rain’s circa 2007 interview in Thai fashion magazine Praew.

Have a great evening, everyone!

– Do you know that your fans are all waiting for your future plans?

Rain: First of all, I would like to say thank you to all my fans and I am glad to hear that they’re still keeping up about me. I have to say that lately especially after I announced that I’d like to try something else this may be make many people shocked… but don’t worry, I’m still here. After my world tour concert in Thailand, my contract with JYPE was over. I was just opening a management company named Rainy Entertainment and plan to have encore concert in Japan and China. And also I just agreed to be in Hollywood movie, ‘Speed Racer’ with the two Wachowski brothers (Andy and Larry Wachowski) who’re the famous directors of ‘The Matrix’… I think I may have to stay in Berlin for a while for filming.

– How do you feel working with the Wachowski brothers?

Rain: I like “The Matrix” very much. I’m glad and excited to work with such a talented director like them. This movie was created from a Japanese cartoon and my character is a talented newbie Japanese racer who’s trying to save his family business. In this movie I have to drive very fast and I think that I’ll not use the stunt. Even this is not the lead character but they trusted me to work with them so I’ll have to put all effort in it. When I saw the crew preparing the set and everything, I felt very proud that I was working with them and plus this is my first Hollywood movie so there are things that I need to learn… I hope to learn more about new acting techniques from great actors and actresses as much as I can like John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci.

– You’ve got challenging work with more challenging characters, is there any character that you like and why?

Rain: I still have very little experience in acting but every time I read the different scripts I think that I have got into that character. Like “I’m a Cyborg, But that’s OK”, I had to spend many days to study the character of the psychopath in the hospital. I think they are sincere and innocent more than normal people. And acting like them is very difficult. I need to concentrate a lot because the character’s emotions are complicated.

– Do you have any idol or any one who you were dreaming of being like?

Rain: Hmmm… let’s say… if my life is the road, I’ve been on the road that no one’s ever been on before. So, I think I don’t have any idol because I have already created my own road. The Road for Rain or Jung Ji Hoon, and I believe that it will lead the way to others too.

– If you have a chance to start your new life again, any kind of work or life would you like to have?

Rain: Even if I’ve got a chance to start my new life again I hope to have my life like this. The life of being actor and singer… I think there’s no such life that can be happier than this.

– If you have a chance to go for a trip but you can have only three things with you, what would you like to bring?

Rain: It really depends on how long… I’d rather take an mp3 player, photo of the person I love, and cup noodle with me (laugh).

– Your trips are mostly about work, if you can arrange the schedule by yourself, where would you like to go?

Rain: I would go to somewhere I can be free and travel with the person I want to. Even if I don’t have anything special to do, however, it would be very wonderful if I can spend time freely with someone I love.

– How’s your trip to Valencia for LV [Louis Vuitton] photo shoot?

Rain: This was my first time to Valencia… the country is charming. Ah yes… this is my first time sailing and it’s not that easy to understand (learn) this kind of sport, but I think I’ve improved after they’ve taught me, and maybe because I like water sports like swimming, surfing or water skiing, so that’s helping me a lot.

– What do you think about LV Fall-Winter Men Collection that you were just doing the photo shoot?

Rain: I like LV and I decided to do this photo shoot because I like the brand. The brand has a long history, valuable and antique. This collection is LV Fall-Winter for men, the style will look simple but trendy… this is what I’m searching for.

– Many people think that you have a great sense of fashion, does fashion inspire you and your daily life?

Rain: Everyday there will be stories and people surrounding, they inspired me in dancing, singing and my daily life and of course, these include fashion and my lifestyle. I believed that fashion is one of many important things to create people’s character. So, I choose the fashion that suits me and my character. Frankly, I feel really good that many people think I have a great sense of fashion (laugh).

– Last question, you were chosen to be one of the world’s top 100 influential people, has this made your daily life change? If yes, how?

Rain: I want to say thank you for the honor that Times & People Magazine gave me. From now on, I know that every word I say, every move I make will get attention from the West. So my daily life and my responsibilities for work will be more important than before… it’s like many people are hearing me. So this is also my responsibility to make it even better and I hope that I’ll succeed.

RAINY DAY Season 3, episode 18: A louder, harder, grittier Hip Song.

Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^

Asia broadcast 7/30.

We left off last week in the middle of rehearsal for Rain’s BEST Macao concert stop on his Asia tour, and it is there where we pick back up again. Which is just fine with us!

Let me say right off the bat that I dig the totally rocked out way the live band plays “Hip Song”. They add something that gives it such a fresh new flavor. Makes me want to plant one foot forward and do a little head-banging. Awesome. They seem to be pretty attuned to Rain and his vision of how things should go as well, without a bunch of hiccups. He talks, they deliver.

I also dig the way he adjusted his own delivery of the “Hip Song” lyrics to match up with the band’s version. He went louder. Harder. Grittier. And from the fan cams we’ve already seen from BEST Macao, it worked. Beautifully! The rocked out version of this song is something that I hope we continue to hear for a long time to come.

Watch JiHoon go from instrument to instrument, laying down the invisible track that he’s played in his own head. He’s almost like the conductor of an orchestra in the middle of an epiphany.

Oh wow. That was cool—the guitar player coming down and joining Rain at the “Love Story” steam shower. WOW. Not only does the guy play some smokin’ mean strings, he’s good looking to boot!

Well there you go—proof positive that you can’t have guys and lasers in the same place at the same time without a “let’s see what happens when I do this” session. LOL! Rain: Look at my green lasers. I got green lasers. Look at them. Hyung 1: But I can stand on it, though. Hyung 2: Big deal. I can put my arm though it. Hyung 3: I can stop it with my hand! Hyung 4: Huh. Watch this. (stops the beam with his crotch) Rain: Look at my green lasers. I got green lasers. Look at them. 🙂

Will we get more rehearsal next episode, or get into the concert itself, or receive something totally unexpected from the RAINY DAY gods instead? We shall see, fans. Cheers, until next week! 😀

[CloudUSA Article] Building Rain’s Storm

•July 30, 2011 • 17 Comments

~Cloud Cover by Terri :-}, Managing Editor

Hello, lovely Clouds. Terri here.

I was just wondering…is everybody out there doing your part to spread the news about Rain? I mean, I know I personally tell everybody who will listen to me chatter about him. But I was just wondering, do you do that too?

I’ve stopped driving my family crazy with him, mainly because they’ve long gotten over the shock, and whenever I mention him now, their response is either to pat me on the head and say, “That’s nice, dear,” or to ignore me altogether. :-} However, if the opportunity arises elsewhere, I’m pretty quick to tell people as much about Rain as they can stand. But I’m not sure everybody is doing that. So, I just wanted to ask.

There were two main reasons that Stephe and I created Cloud USA:

  • Because we wanted to create a place where Rain fans could come together not just as Clouds, but as family.
  • Because we wanted to make sure everyone in the USA knew about him.

Think about what it was like before you discovered Cloud USA (or one of the other English-speaking Rain fan sites you frequent)? Think about how alone you felt, how much you wanted to share your love for this incredibly talented artist, but didn’t know where to go, didn’t know who to talk to about it. How did that make you feel?

Now stop and think about how many people in your neighborhood still don’t know his name.

If you’d like to help Cloud USA build a humongous fan base here in the United States for Rain (or elsewhere, if you’re abroad), then do whatever you can to help make that happen. Talk to your family and friends about Rain. Share his work with as many people as possible—wherever you are.

Leading a Cloudburst is a great way to start the rumblings of a Rainstorm in your own backyard. Check out the Cloudburst category on our forum: CLOUD USA’s Cloudbursts. If you don’t see a Cloudburst in your area listed, then please don’t wait for someone else to step up to the plate. Instead, start one yourself. (Send me a message to Terri @ Terri@cloudusa.org to find out how.)

If you don’t get much (or any) response from Cloud USA members who live in your area via your Cloudburst thread, then you may need to find another way to let the people in your community know you exist and when and where your meetings will be happening. Try putting an advertisement for your Cloudburst meetings in the local community newspaper, or on a community bulletin board, or in whatever free media outlet is available to you.

One of the simplest approaches to advertising your meetings once you find a good advertising outlet is to choose a good venue, schedule regular meetings, provide contact information for the club, and then write up a listing you can either leave in place or submit every month for publishing. Then, be at that time and place whenever a meeting is scheduled. Even if you are the only one that attends at first, if your listing stays in place long enough, you might be pleasantly surprised at how many people will eventually show up and become members.

I remember the first writer’s group meeting I ever went to. There was a flyer in the library about it. It was right down the street from my house. I was so nervous about going (because I was a beginning writer) that I didn’t even have the courage to call the number. Instead, I showed up at the door, asking, “Is this the writer’s group?” There were four people in the room. A few years later, there were fifty. Stephe and I are still members of a branch of that writer’s group today. :-}

Don’t worry if your Cloudburst is really small at first. If you have two people who want to get together on a regular basis to gush about Rain, then you’re still a Cloudburst. If your numbers stay small, tell more people. Actively search online for people in your area who love K-Pop. Invite them to your meetings.

Don’t be shy about telling the people at the venue you are visiting who you are and why you are there. Share your excitement, your knowledge about Rain with whoever will listen to you. You never know. You might meet someone along the way that will want to join up…and then they might invite someone and then they might invite someone…well, you get my drift.

Your meetings don’t have to be costly either. Heck, you could meet at a McDonald’s and order a small drink, if you like—as long as you’re having a blast meeting face-to-face and talking about Rain, that’s what matters.

The most important thing is that you find some way to spread the news of this incredible artist, so that in a few years, when he returns from his military service and starts actively working again, there will be even more Clouds around to back him up and to welcome him home.

Sound like a plan?

FYI, Atlanta’s next Cloudburst meeting will be happening sometime soon.  So be on the lookout for our report–better yet, come and join us if you can!

Terri :-}

Rain denies going to military in October

J.Tune Entertainment has denied that singer-actor Rain will be entering the military in October.

A report earlier in the day said that Rain, real name Jung Ji-hoon, will serve in the military in three months time but an official at J.Tune told 10Asia over the phone that a date has not been set.

“It is true that he plans to enter the military this year but nothing has been set on the exact time of his military entrance. He hasn’t even received a draft notice,” the official added.

Rain was supposed to enter the military last year but was deferred to this year after he requested for a postponement, initially to study for his master’s degree and then for career reasons.

Since then, he had starred in TV series “Fugitive: Plan B” and has been filming his movie “Take Off: Closer to the Sun” (translated title) which is a remake of 1964 pic “Red Muffler.”

“Rain is currently preparing for his nationwide tour and is in the process of wrapping up filming of his movie…

Terri really, really loves this one from the Blue Dragon Awards in December 2003, where Rain surprised the audience, charmed the ladies (even though some guy was reading a book LOL), and generally showed out with his bad self. [article] Rain in the Brunei Times: Rain-ing his way into globalisation pie.

Ms. Jaafar writes:

Now, Rain is according to TIME Magazine the face of pop globalism. His story teaches us that life is indeed hard, but we should never quit in the face of adversity, instead we should strive harder. But more importantly Rain’s journey from Sinchon to the world stage also proves that things no longer move simply in a single direction, from the West to the rest of the world instead, there is now a global swirl, no more constrained by borders. That Asians can have a share of the globalisation pie, too. That an Asian guy can be TIME’s most influential person in the world even if he doesn’t have “double eyelids”.

A most excellent way to bring an article about Jung JiHoon and his life journey to a close. Thank you, Ms. Jaafar, for this solid write-up about Rain in your newspaper today.

The Brunei Times 7/29/2011 —  by Juli Suharni Jaafar (& Bandar Seri Begawan)

Rain-ing his way into globalisation pie

JUST for the record I’m not a Rain fan. No matter what my friends say.

I’m merely impressed with the Korean superstar’s rise from the streets of Seoul to the top of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People list, not just once but Jung Ji-hoon was three times a TIME’s man. First on the 2011 TIME 100 list, this marks Rain’s third TIME 100 “victory” having also topped the charts back in 2006 and 2007, and come in second in 2008.

TIME Magazine said in its May 2 issue: “The South Korean pop star turned actor Rain, 28, took the top spot in the TIME 100 reader poll for the third year, trouncing competitors from Barack Obama to Lady Gaga. That’s pretty impressive online power for a guy whose main claim to Western fame is a role in the 2009 film “Ninja Assassin”.

Rain is the first Asian celebrity to achieve the feat and, to underline just how “impressive Rain’s online power” is, let’s consult the world wide web. Online checks show that the only other personalities to have made the list more than three times are Oprah Winfrey (nine) and George Clooney (four).

Very impressive, indeed. So much so that it is too easy to forget his humble beginnings.

Born on June 25, 1982, Rain grew up in Sinchon, a lower-class maze of streets in Seoul, with his mother, father and little sister, Hanna. He caught the dance bug at a school talent show in sixth grade. Having discovered his calling, Rain would soon face a major test. His father’s mill and bakery businesses failed during the 1997 economic crisis. Bankrupt, Mr Jung left for Brazil, leaving Mrs Jung, who was ailing from diabetes, to support the family as a food vendor. It was then that the ragged seams of Rain’s life began to unravel. “The young Ji-hoon was a child in serious poverty. He once starved for five days because there was no food,” Rain told an interview in 2008.

Unable to afford dance classes, Rain began to skip school and sought out older street dancers. “I’ve slept on the streets, and I’ve been through a lot of hardship,” Rain said.

He might have struggled for survival, but the young boy never gave up. Rain’s first real break came in the guise of a boy band called Fan Club, but after releasing only two CDs their record company went under. It was back to square one for Rain.

“I remember going to auditions before my debut, and I was rejected 12 times,” Rain said. “I was told that the reason I was rejected was because my face was too ugly … that I didn’t make it because I didn’t have double eyelids.”

A weaker person might have called it quits, but Rain just worked harder.

After countless failed auditions, Rain met Park Jin-young in 2000, a singer and founder of JYP Entertainment, who was scouting for new talent. It was Rain’s ticket to stardom. Under the tutelage of JYP, Rain was trained to be a singer and dancer and after two years of hard work he was finally ready for his debut.

But, first there was tragedy. Just months before his debut Rain lost his mother. Her death, however, just made him more determined to achieve his dreams.

So, Rain debuted as a back-up dancer and then as a solo act under a new stage name “Bi” but his stardom didn’t come easy. His first single, Napoon Namja (“Bad Guy”), was released at a bad time a month before the 2002 World Cup came to South Korea. Football was just too big a rival for Bad Guy.

Rain, though, is not a quitter. He fought back releasing his second single,”Instead of Saying Goodbye”. It was a good decision not to say goodbye for the new single shot to the top of the charts in less than a month.

With Korea conquered, Rain was ready for Asia. In October 2003 with the release of his second album “How To Avoid The Sun” “Bi” became “Rain” (the English translation of the Hangul character “Bi”). Armed with great music and greater dance moves and backed by a Full House Rain quickly “flooded” Asia. He cemented his place as the No 1 Asian star in 2004 with the release of his third album, “It’s Raining”.

Still not satisfied, Rain went for world domination. He looked to the United States, studying English day and night. By 2006, Rain was already performing to sold out concerts in New York.

“There are just two reasons I work so hard: to never be hungry again, and for my mother,” Rain said. Our motivation may differ, but let’s learn from his story. Rain, after all, falls on everyone.

[vote] DC News in Korea: Is Rain worthy of being recognized as a Hallyu star?

•July 29, 2011 • 6 Comments

Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^

{*ETA 8/2: Looks like the August 2 deadline for this poll was correct. The Hallyu poll is closed, and there is new poll posted now. (Actually, you can still get to it when you click on the link named 해외에서도 인정할만한 최고의 K-POP 한류 스타는? below the blue buttons… but no more votes are being accepted.) When I checked a few minutes ago, before the new poll went up, Rain had ended up 7th out of 25, which ain’t half bad even though in our minds he’s Numero Uno. Thanks for supporting JiHoon, everybody! ^@@^ :D}

That would be a yes.

Major Korean portal DC News Inside is asking KPop fans who they recognize as the bona fide KPop stars fueling the Hallyu Wave across the planet these days. As far as we’re concerned, not only is Rain one of the entertainers fueling it, he’s the mega-icon who lit the fuse in the English-speaking world and got people to sit up and take notice. It is what it is.

So let’s for vote for Rain in DCNews’ KPop Hallyu poll, fans!

You can only vote once a day, and there is no registration—just go to the poll site, choose 비 (5), and submit your vote by clicking the first blue button at the bottom. The blue button in the very middle is to see the current Poll Results. From the looks of the statement at the very bottom of the Poll Results page that pops over after you vote, almost 85,000 people have voted so far, and the ending date of the poll might be August 2. If we get confirmation of that, we’ll let you know here.

So far, SNSD (9), Super Junior (10), JYJ (21), TVXQ (2), and Joong (1) are leading the pack, in that order, so let’s get cracking. Have fun, meet new people, and support JiHoon. Thanks!

I have to agree. The Forced Living Situation between “YoungJae” and “Han JiEun” on Full House was hilarious and as eye-popping as all get-out, and completely insane. LOL! Great stuff!

Meerkat at DF touted Full House, Attic Cat, Personal Taste, My Girl, and Goong (Princess Hours) as their top five Forced Living Situations in KDrama-dom.

What are your favorites?

°

DramaFever’s FeverWatch Blog 6/14/2011 — by meerkat

Let’s Talk Kdrama: Forced Living Situations

Forced Living Situations — What does this mean to you? Does it mean having to live with five other people in a three-bedroom apartment? Having to live with your parents? Having to live in a town that’s too small for your larger-than-life dreams?

Whatever your answer, let me tell you exactly what Forced Living Situations — from hereon F.L.S. — means in the world of Korean dramas.

In Kdrama-Land, Forced Living Situations are when a handsome (conveniently rich) man lives with a pretty (conveniently broke) girl, usually because some ridiculous circumstance involving money and contracts requires them to do so. F.L.S. are key plot devices in bringing said man and woman together in romantic harmony.

We love F.L.S. here at FeverWatch, which is why we are spotlighting it in today’s edition of Let’s Talk Kdrama.

So without further ado, here are our Top 5 F.L.S. Kdramas:

1. Full House

Imagine having to live with the hottest superstar in your country, which is exactly what happens when Han Ji Eun (played by Song Hye Gyo) enters a contractual marriage with A-list actor Lee Young Jae (played by Rain). As a condition of their fake marriage, the two live together in Full House, the home that Ji Eun’s father built. The two strangers begin their F.L.S. begrudgingly, but it is no surprise when these roomies eventually blossom into this:

Sigh. If only all of our F.L.S. could involve living with a handsome, powerful megastar…

[article][no Rain] Awesome KPop moment of the day: Music Bank in the U.S.!

•July 29, 2011 • 2 Comments

— ^@@^

KBS Global 7/28/2011 —

KBS Music Bank World Tour

Since many Hallyu fans can’t come to Korea, KBS’s Music Bank is bringing it to them!

KBS representatives met with press members to discuss the pending series of KBS Music Bank broadcasts planned for abroad countries.

It will all start off in New York, where Music Bank will take place in the US sometime in October. The next stop will be China in November, Vietnam and Europe the following year in 2012. As anyone who’s watched an episode of Music Bank would know, the show is a bunch of the kpop artists, including both fresh-faced rookies as well as old-time favorites, performing on one stage one after another.

The director, Jun Jin-gook talked about how Music Bank China will be held in conjunction to the Chinese Gayo Festival. The festival has been an ongoing event for the past 10 years. In Vietnam, the Music Bank concert comes at the perfect timing of celebrating the 20th diplomatic relation anniversary. KBS has been keeping a close eye on the spread of Hallyu to Euroope as well, so a concert in that region is not out of the question. Director Jun went as far as to reveal that local concert reps from Europe have been visiting KBS in efforts of organizing a concert.

Blast from the past #77: Rain made his comeback with Rainism…

…after the Vol.5 Rainism album (his first solo project) was released in October 2008, after Ninja Assassin filming wrapped and he was ready to conquer his homeland again on the singing stage.

“Rainism” garnered great success for him, as did “Love Story” (the English version of “Love Story”, produced by Roy and Elmo Chong of Double Dragon, went Number 1 around the world), on many of the music shows back during that time.

Enjoy this from SBS’s Inkigayo, which usually airs on Sunday afternoons. You can tell that Rain was more than ready to use his Magic Feet. And he attacked that live mic like a starving man. Wow!

MBLAQ is looking so good, and as pure and as sweet as the driven snow, on this episode of Wide Open Studio Talk live, released by Mnet yesterday. But we all know differently, don’t we? Ain’t no driven snow there. Beneath all of the white that they’re wearing beats the hearts of lions.

Since 2009, SeungHo, G.O, Joon, Mir, and Thunder have climbed hard for their goals, reached for the stars, and fought for what they wanted, be it the perfect choreography, respect among their peers, their big brother’s smile, or—and we’ll bet money on this one—a woman’s love, behind the scenes. (No, they’re not fooling us with that innocent act. 😀 ) Watching them continue to grow and reach their potential together and individually, in the years to come, will be a pleasure.

(When G.O started singing a cappella, I thought I was going to slide out of my chair. ♥)

Remember this from 2005, fans? It will always be one of our all time laughs! Kim TaeWoo hyung and the other members of legendary G.o.d. (Groove Over Dose) kept walking through Rain’s MBC interview spot, claiming to need to use the bathroom. ROFL! Poor thing. “Why are you doing this to me?” LMAO!

And in a totally unbelievable piece of broadcasting (I mean it was Korea, you know), popular host JaeSeok got a tremendous eyeful of cleavage and… you can guess the result. Rain was like, DANG!

From Stephe’s desk: “What can I do? What should I do?”

•July 27, 2011 • 5 Comments

Hey, peeps.

I just came in from a monthly fiction writers’ meeting and having a late supper with Terri at a local restaurant afterwards. With five Rain albums and one mini-album to choose from, I never get bored when it comes to listening to the Man either jamming or talking sweet to me in the car, because of all the variety. And so, on the way home, it happened to be Back To The Basic this time.

I sit here now, at my computer, talking to you all. In a daze.

The emotional way Rain’s voice wraps around the English version of “Love Song” stuns my brain like a blow to the head. The feeling in it is just incredible to listen to.

Yes, I know that this English version was specifically for Asian audiences and the lyrics aren’t what you call our cup of tea in the States. BUT. I’m telling you. It’s a beautiful song, nonetheless, that mesmerizes me when I listen to it. In terms of a good, solid American revamp to the lyrics and the video, I can “hear” this thing on the radio. I can see DJs and listeners all over just falling in some serious love with the Man’s sound.

I’m just musing here. I certainly don’t expect that to happen, mind you. Revamps and videos are expensive as hell and impossible to secure without a proven market waiting for them (for Powers That Be, it’s all about the profit), and it’s not like Rain doesn’t already have plenty of irons in the fire. I’m just sayin’… we’ve already talked about how well an English “One” would go over here, and as far as I’m concerned, an Americanized “Love Song” would be a ballad that would shoot a lot of people straight to the moon and back.

(I dare not guess how many U.S. babies would be born roughly nine months after that release…LOL!) 😉

[Update] Influential Rain series 3: You WILL see a forest for the trees in Mongolia.

•July 26, 2011 • 5 Comments

Written by: Stephe Thornton, Managing Editor ^@@^

This is a Cloud USA original series. All image credits are as given or as tagged. If you share this article, please do so in its entirety and with all credits intact. Thank you!

You may recall this entry from our Influential Rain series 2 article back on July 1, that detailed how Chinese and global Rain fans were motivated to follow Rain’s (a.k.a. Jung JiHoon) lead concerning his environmental campaign promoting afforestation:

Rain fan clubs in China—China RainBar and RainCN—along with other global Rain fans across the planet decided to donate a forest this year. They got together with environmental powerhouse Roots & Shoots in Shanghai and The Million Tree Project in March 2011, and purchased 2000 trees to be planted in Inner Mongolia in Rain’s name, to help rebuild the environment there.

It came to our attention today that The Million Tree Project has delivered its first report on the new Cloud & Rain Forest in inner Mongolia, where the 2000 donated poplars have been planted over a 1.5 hectare area (roughly three acres) by local farmers, their families, and volunteers.

The trees were planted three months ago, and are growing well!

This forest will become an excellent windbreak and add much needed nutrients and stability to the soil, which would otherwise erode and be lost to ravages of the harsh storms in the region. It will also protect the crops belonging to the village nearby from destruction. This is one step among many to curtail the desertification in China, and will go a long way in giving the planet itself new life.

We at Cloud USA are extremely proud of our Asian and global Cloud sisters, more so than mere words could ever explain. We look forward to more reports as time goes on, and watching the Cloud & Rain Forest grow to maturity. Perhaps one day in the future, we’ll be able to help spearhead a fan expedition there, and join hands with many of our world sisters under the cool canopy of this new forest haven.

Amazing job, China RainBar, RainCN, and Rain’s global fans.

Congratulations, Rain! To see your campaign bear fruit is so inspiring. Wear your TIME 100 Most Inspirational People for 2011 title with your head held high.

You are a motivating force. You are worthy.
