RAINY DAY Season 2, episode 24.

Asia broadcast 7/17. And on to Rain’s MTV Movie Awards odyssey, beginning with his airport interview and flight from Korea in early June, and ending in Los Angeles. There is a nice mix of footage we have and have not already seen here. And with all the entertainment news reports over the past two months, we don’t really need a translation for the first video.

Question: In the second video, is this before or after the awards ceremony? Is Rain in the car going to or leaving Gibson? I’m asking this because at one point it seems like he’s talking about Scarlett Johansson and the guests as if he’s already seen them. And footage of his badassery win is thrown in there. It was awfully bright outside, but we are talking Pacific time. And he wouldn’t have the Golden Popcorn statuette in the car because MTV kept it to put his name on it and ship it to him later. I don’t know… I’m just tossing stuff out here. Somebody throw me a bone! 🙂

Rain liquidates J.Tune Entertainment stock?

[ *ETA 8.1: We have reason to believe that this isn’t true and may have been purposely “leaked” to damage Rain’s reputation. ^@@^ ]

This allkpop write-up is only one of many that have been circulating the Internet this past week on this matter. Some of the posts and articles differ on major and minor points and on quoted sources, so all we could do was read them and come to some sort of conclusion in our own minds.

We don’t know why Rain came to this decision or what it means. We do know that this happens everyday in the corporate world, and that Rain never does anything without a LOT of forethought and a darned good reason. The factors behind this will remain unknown until either Rain or J.Tune decides to explain them, so, rather than wasting time speculating…

We will simply trust him and wait for that day.

Allkpop 7/17/2010 — Rain has recently become the source of a hot issue in Korea due to his latest financial decision. The popular artist / actor sold off every single one of his shares of J.Tune Entertainment.

Rain was previously the majority shareholder of J.Tune Entertainment, an entertainment company that he is signed to.

Other shareholders of the company, mainly average working folks who invested small sums (small sums in the big picture but large investments from their perspective), are in anger as Rain’s departure made the share price drop to a new low of about 28 cents. This price is very low compared to $27, the price that the shares were going for when Rain first became the majority shareholder and when many invested into the company…

[Cloud USA] Rain and Stallone: Close, but no cigar.

[ *ETA 7.19: Rain’s agent J.Tune Entertainment explained, “Rain had many offers from Hollywood at the end of 2009, but the schedule for the ‘The Expendables’ filming had not been yet confirmed at that time, so he found that the offer would be hard to accept before his concert and next album schedules.” (quote credit: Sports DongA, 7.19) ]

Money Today’s Star News and several other Asian media reported today that Hollywood actor/director Sylvester Stallone had wanted to feature Rain in his star-studded upcoming action flick The Expendables, but that Rain’s heavy schedule had unfortunately conflicted with the movie’s filming dates (which began back in late March of this year).

The Back To The Basic special album release, Love Song music video shoot, two months of comeback performances, TV and radio show appearances, the 2010 Dream Concert, the LoR Yoyogi concert, ZEPP Japan preparations, the Lotte/MCM Spring-Summer Collection event, KBS1’s Love Request concert, PSY’s concert, the Cartier new timepiece event, preparing to shoot Runaway… yeah, Rain was definitely busy and could not stop.

From the way Stallone was talking in his KBS 2 interview (see below), sounds to me that the “role,” though not a main character, wasn’t completely formed or nailed down yet, which adds a whole other element of excitement because it shows that major Hollywood players are thinking of ways to use Rain in their projects. Just like with Ninja Assassin—if there isn’t a role, think one up for him. Build one around him. Because he’s that good. 😀

Awwwww… how disappointing! But maybe next time. Sly still has a lot of movies in him yet.

2010 Rain Love Tour Saitama, First Night

My family vacation accidentally coincidences with Saitama Love concert. As I do not know whether I can go to the concert, I have not bought my ticket via Japanese Cloud. So I arrived at Saitama Arena at around 1 pm today to try my luck. Since I do not know Japanese, I only figured out where to buy the ticket for tonite’s show after half an hour of walking around the arena.

After waiting for another hour, I finally got my ticket. It is not a bad location, I got a 10th row seat at the stand area, which is much better than those Japanese fans who have bought their tickets via the ticketing sales office. They were sitting 5 – 10 rows above me at the stand area.

The arena was FULL HOUSE. The stand area is about 70% full.

When the concert started, me and the fans next to me moved up 1 row but 15 seats nearer to the stage, so we are now at a location equivalent to B area at the arena. The concert started at around 5:30 pm and ended at around 7:30pm.

First came MBLAQ, performing Oh yeah and Y. Then Rain performed Hip Song wearing a white suit (you can watch it from my fan cam). The songs arrangement for tonight was quite good as Rain has a rest every 2-3 songs. Sometimes, he talked, and sometimes he went backstage to change clothes.

His health conditions seemed fine as he did not cough, sneeze or sniff his nose. His mood is fine, gave the audience some cute smiles from time to time.

He only wore shades during hip song and we could see his face clearly for the whole performance.

As the arena is a bit hot, everyone was sweating and Rain was wet, dripping throughout the concert. He used the towels several times to wipe his sweat, but he never threw any of them downstage.

He has chosen a ‘big sis’ (mature fans) as his girl for tonight.

The encore song was With You and he rode on a cart to circle round the arena. It is a good show and I wish that tomorrow night will also be as successful as tonight. I am not good at writing fans account and hope that you do not find it bored.

[Cloud USA] This interesting Arirang entertainment news report shows that, though K-celeb soldiers are treated like regular soldiers and given no preferential treatment, they’re also not kept completely away from what is nearest and dearest to their hearts—entertaining.

Yes, training and serving is going to be physically and mentally rough, but what’s the real worry? Ji-Hoon can handle it. His magnificent body is in great shape, and he has one of the strongest minds we’ve ever seen. And, more than likely, he’ll be pestered to death to entertain troops and fans, and have fun doing it. Not to mention… he is going to make one handsome, hot-looking hunk in uniform. We’re not entirely sure we’ll be able to handle the pictures of him camo’d up or dressed down. At all. *fanning and swooning*

So chin up, Clouds. Let’s not send Rain any negative vibes about his upcoming military odyssey that will bring his spirits down. When it’s all over, he’s ours for good! 😀

New on the Block: Strong Heart.

* ADDED (webblog): Rain’s two epic episodes of Strong Heart, No. 27 and No. 28, that were supposed to be broadcast at the end of April 2010 but, due to the Cheonan naval tragedy, were delayed until May, to our VARIETY TV page. Just look right → and then go down ↓ our blog sidebar to PAGES.

“This is Hip Song, rock tonight—” *rrrrrip!* Wardrobe malfunction! Wardrobe malfunction! For the second time this year! And host HoDong took it worse than anyone, even Rain. ROFL!

This is one of the most hilarious shows ever. Jung JuRi is one of the funniest women alive. GaHee can really dance. All of the participants are wonderfully entertaining (poor ChaeYoung! And is she brave or what? Heh!). Rain’s sense of humor cracked us up so that we were in stitches. Host HoDong and G.O gave him the business, and he threw it right back at them full force. Not to mention, our Ji-Hoon is so handsome here that it hurts.

A few of these English-subbed videos have already been scrubbed from YouTube by SBS, so partake of the remaining ones while they’re still available!

Daniel Henney in Kyoto for Runaway shoots.

Dramabeans 7/16/2010 — Daniel Henney is currently filming the upcoming action drama Runaway in Japan, and recently uploaded a photo of himself taken at a train station in Kyoto. The photo was posted to his Facebook page, with a note that he hasn’t been able to check his page frequently due to his shooting shooting, though he promised to try to keep the updates coming.

The production will also film in Tokyo and Osaka, then plans to travel to Asia, spending nearly two months overseas for location shooting. In addition to Henney, the cast includes Rain, Lee Na-young, Lee Jung-jin, and Yoon Jin-seo.

Runaway comes from the writer-director pair who did the hit action-sageuk series Chuno, and will premiere on KBS in September. It will be Daniel Henney’s first drama in four years, since he did the KBS series Spring Waltz, which starred Han Hyo-joo.

Top stars have gathered for the ‘huge rookie’ G.NA’s debut.

On July 14th, G.NA’s debut album’s title track ‘I’ll back off so you can live (feat. Yong JunHyung)’ was released. As though to confirm the hot interest surrounding G.NA even before her debut, as soon as ‘I’ll back off so you can live (feat. Yong JunHyung)’ was released, it shot to first place on search engines.

G.NA had already gained a lot of interest for her duet song with ‘world star’ Rain, and she seems to be planning to solidify her break into the industry.

The title track ‘I’ll back off so you can live (feat. Yong JunHyung)’ was composed by Kim DoHoon and written by Wheesung, and it has been praised for having a great melody paired with her charming voice. The song was finished off with BEAST’s Yong JunHyung, who made a featuring in the track and has been accepted as having great rap-making skills.

G.NA’s debut album ‘Draw G’s First Breath’ is the most-anticipated female solo act, and as much, the line-up for the production was something else. Kim DoHoon, ShinSaDong Tiger, Jung JiChan, Kang JiWon, and other great staff participated in her album, and the tracks they have created have been receiving praise.

Her music video for ‘I’ll back off so you can live (feat. Yong JunHyung)’, in which she and ‘boyfriend-dol’ Yoon DooJoon appear like a real couple with romantic scenes, also has been gaining hot attention on the internet after its release. The reaction has been that the emotional acting displayed in the video of G.NA and Yoon DooJoon’s love and goodbye, along with her sad voice, made the atmosphere of the song come alive.

In the music video, G.NA’s boyish and sexy charms were displayed as well as her dancing skills. The anticipation for her first performance this week has been growing.
