Allkpop 7/14/2010 — Hong Kong’s national actor and movie director Eric Tsang will appear in the drama Fugitive.
The actor was cast as for the role of General Wi, a character who is business partners with Kai, played by Daniel Henney, and friends with Jiwoo who is played by Rain.
The story revolves around a detective named Jiwoo who liked to handle cases that are hard to solve. On the day that Las Vegas casino in Macau opened, General Wi discovers the corpse of Jinee’s parents and asks Jiwoo for help. Jiwoo then accepts the offer and gets closer to solving the case of Jinee’s parents’ murder. However, he soon receives a difficult plea from Mi Jin and becomes torn about his decisions….
HOT stuff, from various vintage moments in Rain’s career: DOHC, Calvin Klein, Cosmo, VONIN, various shows and concerts, and Nan ohhhh Nan… (whew!). — Stephe ^@@^
For those of you who haven’t seen it, enjoy this, the making of Rain’s debut music video for “Bad Guy” (Nappeun Namja) off of the n001 album, in Australia of 2002. The living of Ji-Hoon’s dream had only just begun.
… while ZEPPing in Osaka. LOL! *shaking my head* Why is he so cute here? It doesn’t make sense! 🙂

Rain : How old are you?
One fan : 17 years old.
Rain : 17?
Rain : I love you (forming a heart with both hands overhead)
0:28~0:33
Rain : Promise, promise me that you’ll visit Oppa (me, Rain) when you’re a little older. I love you.
0:37~0:45
Rain : You should not visit me when you’re 17 years old, but you can do when you’re 20 years old.
(Using gestures and forming a heart)
** In Korea, ‘Oppa’ is a word used when a sister usually calls a brother who is older than her. ( Rain is treating her as his own younger sister with an easy familiarity by calling himself by the title, Oppa)
This song has always been a favorite, but not often seen in the latter part of this decade. Rain went number 1 with it after debut in 2002… and the rest is legend. Enjoy. — Stephe ^@@^
From the 2010 Love Tour Official Rain blog (Ameblo Japan). The latest backstage dancer pics have been added to our Rain’s Crew: The Men Behind The Man page. 😉 — Stephe ^@@^
Just enjoy the Rain visuals and the sound of his voice until a translation is forthcoming. Definitely not a hard task, I’m sure you’ll agree. 🙂

Q: The Japanese version of your album ‘Back To The Basic’ has been launched in Japan. Congratulation!
Rain : Thank you.
0:24~0:36
Q : The image of its jacket looks pretty interesting. And I’ve heard that you’ve produced by yourself.
Rain : Yes, I’ve done it all by myself.
0:37~0:57
Q: What is the concept of your album?
Rain : Its concept, by definition, is ‘back to the basic’, and it is to be a little more simple. In some sense, it can be characterized by an epicene beauty.
1:12~1:28
Q : Doing everything by yourself may be considered to be a very hard work.
Rain : That can be difficult and easy, but I think it would be better to a singer to do like that.
1:29~1:48
Q; What is the hardest part for you when you produce your music by yourself?
Rain : I’ve been in charge of everything including music and lyrics and the selection of the songs, even though it can be very difficult to do it by myself.
1:49~2:15
Q: Rookie male group MBLAQ produced by you is very popular in Japan.
What do you think of them?
Rain : I’m in a position where I have to teach them, when I produce them.
It’s fun to work with them, and they are also doing a great job in a very intense mode. So, I’ve always been appreciate of that.
2:18~2:34
Q: What do you want to advise that audiences do before they come to see your concert?
Rain : They should probably just be pretty happy with what they’re enjoying my music.
2:35~2:50
Rain : Hello, how are you?
Thank you for supporting my Zepp Tour.
I hope many of you’ll pay attention even to my last concert in Saitama Super Arena.
Please be healthy and happy.
I love you.
From: DAUM/YOZM fan interview with 2PM / Which idols are your favorite singers?
Chansung: I personally respect Rain-hyung. When I think about my time as a trainee, I remember how even when Rain-hyung didn’t have schedules he would always come to the company and practice. When I think about that, I wonder… if we ever become as successful like Rain-hyung, could we could show the same kind of dedication?… and that’s how much I truly respect him.
Taecyeon: I think Rain-hyung is amazing for making a path that we can follow as juniors. All the members respect and admire Rain-hyung.
There are men who can sing, and then there are a few men who can really SING. Our Ji-Hoon is one of those few. And here is another—Bumkey, of 2w1nS (Twins). I found this “Lately” cover he did (back in 2007) on the 2w1nsBounce fan blog. Stunning. I had to share.
It occurred to me (finally) that I’m also reporting things that are new or refreshed over on our Fan Site, not just what’s “new on the blog” here. Therefore, New on the Blog will now be known as… New on the Block.
We’re revisiting this SixToFive sale poster from January 2010 because we simply found Rain so adorable on it. (And it’s in English.) Isn’t he all trendy? 🙂 — ^@@^
After dozens of matches, hundreds of thousands of votes, plenty of thrilling upsets and some truly committed fans, the MTV World Cup of Rock has come to a close, and we’re happy to congratulate South Korea as the grand champion. While the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup was an anti-climatic slog of a game between Spain and the Netherlands, the last showdown of MTV’s World Cup of Rock was exciting down to the final minute of voting. Powered by the support of international K-Pop superstar Rain, South Korea jumped out to an early lead, only to be overtaken by the raw power of Tokio Hotel and Germany. But as the hours ticked down, South Korea slowly fought their way back and managed to surge ahead of their competition.
It was a tremendous battle, and both groups of fans should be proud. In fact, kudos to the commenters on the final match post, as they all seem to be shaking hands and paying respect to one another. In many ways, it’s the virtual version of the teams exchanging jerseys at the end of a match.
In the third place game, Australia (perhaps one of the biggest surprises in the entire tournament) topped Mexico to take the bronze medal. It was yet another comeback victory that featured an early Mexican lead and a late Australian surge.
Thanks to everybody who voted, commented and got involved in the inaugural MTV World Cup of Rock, and congratulations again to South Korea (and specifically to fans of Rain). Your favorite superstar would be proud of you.
Oh my goodness, that was not easy at all. Talk about extreme mental and physical strength…! The Tokio Hotel fans were a powerhouse, a brick wall! It literally came down to the 11th hour. But we did it, with the help of Cloud sisters and fans from all over the world. And it feels really good.
Many great things came out of this inaugural World Cup of Rock: recognition for Rain and KPop music, Clouds meeting other Rain fans they hadn’t previously known, the sharing of Tokio Hotel and Rain information between fans, different KPop fandoms coming together in a common cause, a fun new way to enjoy the real FIFA World Cup, hits for the MTV site, the spirit of good old fashioned competition, etc. I hadn’t heard of Tokio Hotel before this, and the passion that Tokio Hotel fans shared for the band convinced me to give their music a try (awesome—I’m digging it!).
I didn’t think much of MTV USA before this summer, frankly. I’m still not its biggest fan. But I really appreciate the opportunities their online site has given Rain these past few months. And I have slowly (but surely) fallen in love with Kyle Anderson. 😉
Rain said in the MBC special documentary: Rain Is Coming (and I paraphrase): “Whether or not I succeed at something, if I did the very best that I could do, there are no regrets and I don’t look back.” I had already decided, well before the end of the World Cup of Rock, that this would be my take on things regardless of the outcome. We’ve all done our very best—Rain fans, Tokio Hotel fans, and MTV, and now we can all proudly go on to bigger and better, enriched by the experience.
[ *ETA 7/12: Sorry, everyone… these videos have now been made private by the owner, so we can no longer watch them. Some Rain fans aren’t as generous as others. Oh, well. Don’t despair. There will be plenty of other Rain goodies coming our way, right? ^@@^ ]
… on the Runaway set, as we understand it. Of course, this could also be a stuntman, but why would it be? Rain is stunt-trained and got that skill the hard way, via Ninja Assassin.
Well, regardless, this is so exciting. We can barely wait for the drama! (Pssst… we think it’s him.)
Congrats to powerhouse Germany for managing to save a little face and snag the third spot. Spain and the Netherlands play for all the FIFA marbles later on today (Sunday) in a highly anticipated match-up. As we understand it, a team that has never won the Cup before will leave the pitch today as champion. Very cool.

FANTASY: MTV World Cup of Rock 2010 UNOFFICIAL results
Germany vs. South Korea
In the championship game of our tournament, two powerhouses will go toe-to-toe for the respect and adoration of the world. On one side, the dominant Germany, fueled by the power and grace of Tokio Hotel. Across the field stands South Korea, a proud, fighting squad inspired by the multiple talents of Rain. Each team has a strong fan base ready to push it to the limit for the glory of their favorite squad, but which one will stand tall? Only you can decide! Voting ends at 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, July 11… Winner announced on Monday, July 12.
Australia vs. Mexico
Australia tore through group play and the bracket before running into the monster that is Germany, while Mexico put up a series of excellent fights before dropping their semi-final match to South Korea. Which team will end up walking away with the bronze medal? Only you can decide!
The Nikon Camera commercial spots funnyman Se-Yoon will be doing are real (he is following in Rain’s footsteps and endorsing Nikon). His deliberately annoying challenge to Rain is all in fun. Hilarious. 🙂
Ji-Hoon (Rain), how are you? This is Se-Yun hyung.
(Hyung : It’s a sign of veneration of the senior individual in Korean. Rain is younger than Yu Se-Yun, and Yu Se-Yun is calling himself ‘Hyung’ respectfully.)
I haven’t talked to you directly, but I believe that you’ve seen me through many media outlets. I feel it’s a little bit embarrassing that we both, world stars, don’t keep in touch with each other.
Not long ago I was able to [attend] a photo exhibition held by you, and it was a really neat exhibition. And yet… I felt there was something lacking.
So I’m thinking to give such an exhibition a try by the same concept. Watch [me] and learn.
(0:43~0:45) [accosts a fan] “Hey! Look on me as Rain!”
I hope you’ll know what went wrong [with your exhibition]. Do it the way I do it, and correct where you went wrong in your photography.
(0:53~0:57) [shouts indignantly to Rain, who isn’t there] “Do you think you can be Rain forever or a world star forever?”
I’ll show the right stuff. Watch me and learn a lot.
(1:03~1:08) [with deadpan face] “Your hat suits you. Are you married?” (The two middle aged women nearly died laughing)
Rain, Ji-Hoon, bye.
<The company’s marketing materials>
Look forward to the first work of Nikon 5000 and Yu Se-Yun
I had watched this most excellent fan made tribute to NINJA ASSASSIN and Raizo about three times before I caught myself. A lot of hard work by YouTuber tatrrx went into it, and it is that good. So… let me share it with you. Enjoy, everyone! 🙂

Yes, ZEPP is over now (and the end of the Summer Love tour, at Saitama, is right around the corner), and yes, this press conference flashed everywhere across the vast Rain Internet Blogosphere June 20th and 21st and thereabouts, before the shows started…
But gee, this fan cam is so close and Rain looks so good that we’re posting this partial for the visuals alone. That’s okay, isn’t it? 😉
Our Ji-Hoon does indeed know how to dress, and his gorgeous skin makes him the perfect spokesmodel when it comes to skincare… Enjoy a look at two of Rain’s projects—SixToFive Creations and Nature Republic, in this fan made video set to “Only You.”
South Korea has selected a distinguished number of guests to represent the country for this year’s G20 Summit, and one of them is Rain. The event will be held on November 11th and 12th and with Rain being one of the hosts, I’m sure it will be a big turnout!
There is a total of 26 handpicked Star Ambassadors that would represent the nation in terms of entertainment, sports and arts; and Rain is confirmed to have been selected to uphold the image of Korea in these aspects.
Wise choice in picking Rain, don’t you think? After all, it’s hard not to picture Rain when we think of Kpop.
Asia broadcast 7/10. The “OMG, Look At All Those Hard Guns! They’re Everywhere!” episode.
“My muscles keep falling down!” Oh, for pete’s sake, Rain. We know it’s cold (which constricts blood vessels like crazy) and that you want to be at your very best for us. But dude, you look hotter than bulgogi (Korean barbecue) over an open flame here, and you know it. The body is banging. Stop doing a million reps! Stop it now! LOL! Everyone, prepare to have your imaginations freak out on you some more.
I mean, I feel so pathetic. I was so into his reps and his dancers’ reps that 1) my eyes started burning from lack of blinking, and 2) when video #1 suddenly ended, I was so startled that I bit my tongue. (And off he sneaks to get oiled up again. He can continue with that, however.)
This episode was just plain fun. Hard guns, golden abs, and plenty of horsing around. 🙂
The Rain/JYP dance battle where JYP symbolically “passed the torch” to Rain (in our minds, at least) after he had formed J.Tune Enterprises and moved on. A “You got it now, buddy, see ya later at the Crossroads” sort of thing.
Before the dance battle, Rain and Crew did Rainism. And before Rainism came… the hard-to-find Trampoline dance, which was an amazing start to the whole performance. Better grab it now, before the YouTube watchdogs swipe it again.
Nicely done. — Stephe ^@@^

KPopLive 7/9/2010 — In support of Rain’s small screen comeback, idol group MBLAQ will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming KBS drama Runaway (Fugitive/Domangja s1/도망자).
A representative from the drama spoke about MBLAQ’s cameo, stating that the boys are set to arrive in Japan on July 14th, and will start filming some action scenes with Rain at Saitama JEFF Hall on the 15th. Also on this day, MBLAQ will perform at Rain’s Japan concert.
Meanwhile, the high-action drama features brilliant Korean stars such as Lee JungJin, Lee NaYoung, Daniel Henney, Japanese actress-singer Uehara Takako, Japanese actor Takenaka Naoto and many more.
Runaway (Fugitive/Domangja s1) has begun filming in Japan last Monday – July 5th and will continue to shoot in several Asian cities….
Well, well, well. Remember, Terri, way back in April when we were looking at that brand new mysterious Rain [ l^VZ] ZEPP tour poster and mulling over the news that Back To The Basic (notLegend of Rainism) would be going to Tokyo, and thinking in our writer brains: Saitama’s in Tokyo…surely some drama filming will commence around that [l-u-v-z/Loves] concert “bidnez”… some footage might even make it in the drama… haha, Rain, you are one sneaky character but we won’t voice our suspicions right now because it might spoil a surprise…?
K Bites 7/8/2010 — MBLAQ has been chosen as the impressive newcomer for the 1st half of year 2010.
A poll ‘Which is the best newcomer for the 1st half of year 2010′ was held on music portal site Bugs from 29th June to 5th July. And MBLAQ came in #1 with 46% of the votes (3,459 votes).
Known as ‘chic-dols’, MBLAQ is an idol group groomed by world star Rain who debuted last October. They released their 2nd single album in mid-May titled ‘Y’. ‘Y’ also went up to #33 on Bugs Weekly Top 100.
It has been a long tournament, but we have finally arrived at the finals for both the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the MTV World Cup of Rock. In the former, Spain will take on the Netherlands in a match-up of two excellent soccer countries who have never won the big prize. While there is debate over whether the two best teams actually made the finals, there is no question that the two most elite squads are squaring off in the MTV World Cup of Rock. You have from now until 11:59 p.m. this Sunday, July 11 to get your votes in, and we’ll officially announce the winner on Monday, July 12!

“In my youth I lived in the grasp of poverty
The world turned its back and I had to support myself [survive]
I never lost hope and strove towards my dream
There’s only one who helped me, and that was my genesis [that started it all]
The song I longed to sing, that song, I was able to sing it
Now on toward my dream
My way
That path that no one else has ever walked, until now… wait…
Although the things I do are trampled on, I still stand up
One, with endless effort, I walk my path
Two, with endless patience, I leap over the wall
Three, striving to never be egotistical
to not be shaken
The song I longed to sing, that song, I was able to sing it
Now on toward my dream…”
(All of the lyrics for Rain’s autobiographical song, “My Way,” are here on our Lyrics Page #4.) He’s been doing it his way for eight years, Clouds, and he fulfills more and more of his dream with every project he tackles and completes. We need to follow his lead and do this our way, with endless effort, endless patience, and endless modesty. Let’s make Ji-Hoon proud.
Let’s make him count in the US. It’s all up to us.
… and Team RAIN/South Korea is going to the Championship final. Holy mackerel! And it certainly was not a breeze, but hard fought and hard won from an unknown element after 3 days’ work. (Hackers? Voting bots? Disgruntled fans? Possible rigging? We may never know.)
But the results are irrefutable. Feast your eyes.
Match-up #1: POLL CLOSED! RAIN (S. Korea) 70.01% vs. Santana (Mexico) 29.99%
Match-up #2: POLL CLOSED! Tokio Hotel (Germany) 97.86% vs. AC/DC (Australia) 2.14%
A previous MTV Newsroom Blog post stated that the Championship Final would be launched sometime today (Thursday, July 9th). We are so ready. Yes—Germany and that unknown element are going to be really tough. This Final may be the most taxing trial that we have seen on our plates to date. But… we aren’t called Clouds for nothing. We can whip up a storm the likes of which no one has ever seen when we are supporting Ji-Hoon.
Am I right? Or am I just talking smack? They ain’t seen nothing yet.
Congratulations, Clouds! I am so proud to be one of you. Rest, and regroup. Thanks, Cloud sisters from all over the world, for supporting Ji-Hoon with us. United, we stand.
The end of the week is going to be rocking. In reality (FIFA), Germany and Uruguay will be battling for 3rd Place on the 10th, Spain and the Netherlands will be battling for the championship on the 11th, and in fantasy (MTV) we will probably be fighting for Team Rain/S. Korea’s championship victory against Team Germany that whole way. Everything is coming up soccer.
At least we don’t have to sleep with one eye open tonight, wondering about numbers shifting. LOL!
Behind every Cloud is a silver lining. His name is RAIN.
