PLEASE help: The Cloud wants your opinion on an upcoming membership drive.

•November 1, 2010 • 34 Comments

Word has come from The 7thCloud that this year’s membership recruitment (the 8thCloud), which has been postponed since May 2010, may finally be opened from mid-November to mid-December (this is tentative).  The 7th Cloud executive board has concerns and is asking for feedback.

Some of us have already gone over and begun giving just that on the subjects they’re asking about.  PLEASE add your voice to the group.  This is major, as we have never been asked our opinions before.  Don’t waste this opportunity!

Thanks much!

(* Please note: If you have problems viewing the post on the actual Cloud Fan Site, SCROLL all the way over to the right.  And then DOWN to see the comments already posted.  I know, I know… I don’t get that either. :/ )

[11-01] [Cloud Notice] Please provide opinions on the recruitment on Cloud 8th

Source: Rain’s The Cloud Fan Site (Korea)/Notice Board

English Translation: Cuckoo @rain-cloud

Hi , this is Cloud7th Board.

Fugitive Plan B got good comment after broadcasting, also Asia Song Festival was successfully ended. Thus, we would like to have your opinions about the recruitment of Fanclub Cloud 8th.  Committee is planning to begin recruitment Round 1 Cloud8th from mid-November to mid-December after this opened comment period.

Then, from mid-Dec to late December, new Cloud8th Board will be managed the membership. On Jan 1st, 2011, Round 2 recruitment will begin, duration is about 2~3 weeks.

After that, Cloud8th activity will begin.

(Above is only the estimated schedule, subject to be changed according to artist’s other event schedule etc.)

* If concert will be held on late December, Fanclub ticket will be given to Round 1 Cloud members only

* Or, Cloud7th members +Round 1 Cloud8th members. In fact, this issue is still under discussion.

Also, issues about membership fee and souvenirs, we really need everybody’s opinions.

Free membership has been requested by some Cloud members in before. Although, it is impossible for us to provide Free Membership, we are trying our best to make it happens though. Therefore, we tried to reduce cost of the goods in order to eliminate the Fanclub membership fee.  Actually, Free Membership is an ideal.  Even Cloud official website, we have to pay server maintenance fee, it is difficult for Fanclub to provide Free Membership.  Thus, we have the following proposal.

Membership Fees:

Korea domestic members will charge 10,000 won~15,000 won ($9.00 to $14.00 US)/ Overseas members will charge 30,000won~40,000won($27.00 to $36.00 US) (Since overseas shipping cost and remittance expense, overseas membership is higher than domestic one).

[*That’s quite a drop, considering at present the fees are Domestic $23.00 and Overseas $62.00… good deal! – ^@@^]

Membership Benefit:

FanMeeting may attend once (FanMeeting fee will be determined for number of participants).

Priority admission as usual regulations on public broadcasting & other events.

FanClub Card will be distributed.

If any other comments on one of above 2 options, please leave message below

Below is disadvantage and advantage per the comparison between an original Fanclub recruitment regulations and new one.

-Overview event duration during army service period.

Perhaps it is too early to discuss this issue, however, many people have been inquired it. Here is our illustration.

I believe we all know that artists probably will join army next year. Similar age as Mr, Lee Jun Ki and Mr. Kim Nan Ji are also still shooting movie or TV series in the case of recruitment, which everyone can understand that it is difficult to predict the enlistment date accurately.

Therefore, artist is most probability has to join army during Fanclub event duration.

In this case, we would like to illustrate that refund request of Fanclub membership fees is not an acceptable reason.

Hope everyone may leave message about what is the purpose of having Fanclub or any other expectation.

Although we know that many Cloud prefer quietly waiting for (do not shout) the answer, but we cannot exchange ideas if we do not provide feedback. So please be sure to pay attention to this notice, the new Fanclub recruiting method will be based on your recommendations.

Although not too much time from now to mid-November, we will fully listen to their comments.

Hopefully, at least 100 or more comments will be received.  We can have more confident to run Fanclub with your opinions, short or long comments are not fine. Also, please feel free to leave message below if you have any other opinions, so that we can discuss together.

Thank you.

Just how did they do that? Runaway/Fugitive behind the scenes.

Enjoy this Y-Star entertainment report of the Fugitive gang getting their film-on this past summer in Japan… which means that cool fight scene at Keiko’s Saitama concert is included.  We get some really funny stuff with Dong-Il (P.I. Nakamura), and with NaYoung escaping JinYi’s house.

And we get a nice glimpse of Rain’s bare foot, which is like… huge. 😀  *sigh* ♥

*naughty giggle*  *professionalism out the window again*

Revisiting: Rain at the Hong Kong Ninja Assassin premiere…

•November 1, 2010 • 3 Comments

… at the end of November 2009.  Awww… dig on that paper-boy cap! 🙂

Our man was constantly on the move in those days, and I mean constantly.  He had just come from the Ninja Assassin premiere in Hollywood, U.S.A, was also there in Hong Kong for a Legend of Rainism Tour stop at the very same time as the NA premiere, and had only a day for two before he had to take LoR on to Jakarta.

Good heavens!

RAINY DAY Season 2, episode 39.

•October 31, 2010 • 8 Comments

Asia broadcast 10/30.

We continue straight from last week, with Rain camming the fans and having some fun.  “Konichiwah… haha!”  He sweetly makes note of where some of them are from, and then starts to self-cam because, quite frankly, the JiHoon hair needs fixing and it has a reputation to uphold.  LOL

(This one fan is simply out of control and won’t stop jumping no matter how many times the camera comes around… which tickles the crap out of Rain and everybody else… LMAO  Did he ask why did she stop at one point, or did he ask her to come up, and bring her up on stage?  Haha!)

Awwww… and it’s “My Girl” time.  How wonderful.  Any waves of jealousy I might harbor are washed away by the utter CUTENESS of Rain and “his girl” of the night.  *giggle, smile, giggle* And she looks like she’s about to pass out.  Of course.  “I love you,” he says.  They make a heart together. 😀 Awww.

Darn it, my eyes are all weepy!  One thing about JiHoon… he really knows how to get ya right there, in the ♥.

So then… Scene change!  He helps “his girl” off stage, and then smoothly transitions into “Love Is.”  Listen to that voice.  (yeah, all you haters, lip-syncing my @ss, ain’t none here, a’ight?)

Okay, you all, tell the truth: would you be able to bear having Rain sitting right there singing in your face without dropping to the floor or embarrassing yourself?  Would you?  (I plead The Fifth, on the grounds that  I might incriminate myself.  ROFL)

*scream* In my bed!  In my BED!  OMG!  I mean the next song is “In My Bed.”  *scream*  *die* (I still can’t believe that pretend heifer did that to him, replaced his character in her bed with somebody else.  Dang, honey, you done lost your mind, he’s RAIN)

Well, fans, we’ve made it through another one.  Wow.  I can’t wait until next week.  No jive.  What a great season.

[Cloud USA] WHAT are they cooking in that soup pot?

•October 31, 2010 • 10 Comments

My, oh my.  It’s a mystery.  It’s an adventure, Rain fans…

Jump into your virtual “vehicles,” drive across town under cover of night and into the CloudUSA.org subdivision, take a right onto Cloudusa.Wordpress.com Avenue, and stop at the second house on the left—a cute Craftsman-style bungalow.

Sneak inside the gate of the white picket fence… tiptoe across the nicely cut lawn (try to ignore the smells of southern peach cobbler and biscuits baking, sshhhh… quiet)… and when you get to the side of the house, step over the flower bed, peer right into the big bay window—

And behold Terri and Stephe using huge ladles to stir something in a massive black cauldron hanging in the fireplace.

We imagine your first reaction might be,”What are they cooking in that soup pot?”  And then you might think, ” I hope that’s a soup pot and not something else.”  *think Stygian witches LOL*

Weeeelllll, dearies… something is definitely cooking in the Cloud USA kitchen.  And all we’re going to say for the moment is: 1) We’re impressed with a certain gentleman who contacted us from KBS America, and 2) If you haven’t been watching The Fugitive: Plan B carefully, go back and brush up on your trivia.  Really well.

Boo-yah. Hehheh. 🙂

“Fugitive” Yoon Son Ha injured in a car accident.

•October 31, 2010 • 4 Comments

Allkpop 10/30/2010 —

After it was revealed that it was unavoidable for actress Yoon Son Ha to miss surgery, many have been wondering whether she would be leaving KBS 2TV’s “Fugitive: Plan B.”

Yoon Son Ha was in a rear-ender car accident on her way home after completing her filming for the drama on the morning of October 30th. Although she received treatment at a hospital nearby, she must now receive surgery for her fractured leg.

A representative of the drama stated, “Her doctor has informed us that it is crucial for her to undergo surgery. The filming set to have taken place on the afternoon of the 30th was canceled.

The possibility of her leaving the drama has been raised due to her surgery, leaving the drama with many plot holes should she actually leave. Representatives have revealed that the producers are currently in heavy discussion over the situation.

Yoon Son Ha will be going in for surgery on the 31st, and will be needing over a week of recovery.

Being the writers that we are, Terri and I can already see Director Kwak and Company rewriting scripts and adjusting subplots.  Our suggestion?  Have “Mi-Jin” shot in the leg or break her leg, just write it in and get some location shots at the hospital.  Have her henchmen receive instructions over the phone without showing her.  SonHa can be healing nicely away from the shoot and “Fugitive” not miss a beat.

Take care, SonHa!  We absolutely love you in your role and we’re so glad you weren’t hurt worse.

10asia goes in depth about the MAMAs.

•October 31, 2010 • 2 Comments

If you’re a YouTube, Dailymotion, or other video-hosting site denizen and make watching Rain’s and other K-Poppers’ past videos a major part of your week…

…it’s a lot less confusing to realize that the MAMAs (Mnet Asian Music Awards), the MKMFs (Mnet Korean Music Festivals), and the MKMVFs (Mnet Korean Music Video Festivals) are all the same show—the name has just changed over the years.  10asia explains that and gives more details about this year’s 7 pm show, which will give out awards according to fan votes, music chart rankings, and single and album sales.

The last time Rain participated was when he returned to Korea in 2008—the MKMFs, where he did the “walking on water” 50-degree moving incline—after Ninja Assassin filming had completed.  In fall/winter 2009, he was way too busy with both Ninja Assassin‘s world premieres and the Legend of Rainism Tour at the same time.  It’s good to see him back in the music scene saddle for 2010, yes?

He has many 2010 MAMA nominations (» our previous post is HERE), which is awesome, and we’ve no idea if he’ll perform or not, or even be able to make it what with the changes in show time and place.  But I tell you what—his entire 2008 performance was one of the most amazing of his entire career, included the best “Rainism” ever, and is one we never tire of.

So enjoy it! 🙂

[*ETA #3, 10/29:  So.  This is the latest, fans.

Rain is nominated for 4 awards whereas MBLAQ is also for 4 awards, but YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR ALL 19 CATEGORIES FOR YOUR VOTE TO COUNT.
*One vote per day per ID*  *Only use Internet Explorer*  *Everyone regardless of country should be able to vote.  Please check the comments in this post thread for helpful hints by fans who have made it in*

(Yes, Rain and the Boys are duking it out in two categories! Gah!)

Rain

●Best Male Solo Artist
●Best Solo Dance Performance
●Artist of the Year
●Song of the Year, for “Love Song”
(The Artist of the year repetition is a printed error on the English side, but Korean side shows it as the Song of the Year)

MBLAQ
●Best Male Group
●Best Dance Performance by a Male Group
●Artist of the Year
●Song of the Year, for “Y”

Thanks for this tip, CloudyMJ.

Just a personal observation: It would really be nice if the CORRECT information was released by the Powers That Be from the get-go, so that everyone wasn’t scrambling around trying to find it.  Why am I not surprised that the English side was wrong?  Why are these things so carelessly done every time?  Good grief, get it together.  ^@@^]

[*ETA #2: We know for certain that fans across Asia are able to vote for the MAMAs.  What we’re not sure about right now is if World fans (those of us NOT in Asia) will be able to do so as well.

So far, some of us have managed to get registered and to vote without any problem, and some of us have received errors and failed.  Our advice is to give the MAMA website a try and see what happens for you.  As soon as we know something more concrete, we’ll let you know here.  Thanks, all…!  — ^@@^]

[Cloud USA, amended] Word has come down that Rain and baby Boys MBLAQ have both been nominated for four 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards a piece this year.  And the honor is well-deserved!  The nominations are as follows:

RAIN: The Male Singer Award, Best Song Performance/Solo for “Love Song”, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Love Song.”

MBLAQ: The Male Group Award, the Best Dance Performance/Male Group for “Y”, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Y.”

In addition to the coveted Daesang Awards for Singer, Song, and Album of the Year, the MAMA categories are Male Group, Female Group, Male Singer, Female Singer, Male Rookie, Female Rookie, Best Music Video Picture, Best Song Performance/Solo, Best Dance Performance/Male Group, Best Dance Performance/Female Group, Best Vocal Performance/Solo, Best Vocal Performance/Group, Best Band, Best Rap, Best Collaboration, Best Digital Single, and last but not least, the Shilla Duty Free Asian Wave Award.

» The MAMA website is now open for business HERE, and of course, music fans across the world can vote for the winners in all categories from today until November 21st.

Aja!

» You can see the entire nominee list, and read briefly about the Mnet/SBS/MBC controversy (there’s one just about every year, usually) on the allkpop blog site HERE.

» The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 28 in Macao at the Venetian Hotel’s famous 15,000-seat Cotai Arena.  Having it out of South Korea for the first time and during a weekend rather than a usual weekday is causing major headaches for many artists and the broadcasting companies, and you can read about that HERE.  (Some artists simply may not be able to make it.)  Hopefully, if the MAMAs do make it to the U.S. in five years’ time, as projected, it will do so without such snags.

[*ETA #1: It appears that Rain also has a third nomination… Artist of the Year.  (Thanks for that tip, Glenda.)  I am wondering, though, why there are two Artist of the Year categories and what that means.  If this is not a glitch, the difference in the two categories needs to be specified in order for this to make sense, dear Mnet.  Stay tuned. — ^@@^

AMENDMENT 10/29: We now know one of the buttons should say SONG of the Year, not Artist.  *shaking my head in amazement at the carelessness*]

Dramabeans 10/27/2010 —

Yoon JinSeo models for fragrance ad

Yoon Jin-seo has my favorite storyline in Runaway Plan B, and since she’s playing a cop on the move, she doesn’t get much chance to dress up in the drama — although how she runs around and does any sort of action in killer heels is beyond me — so I love seeing her looking so fresh and pretty for an ad campaign, for The First Fragrance by Lolita Lempicka.

Her Runaway storyline with Lee Jung-jin is basically an adorable bumbling romance that blossoms despite the pesky job of chasing Rain all over Asia that constantly runs interference, and never fails to make me smile. Yoon hasn’t played much comedy in her career (previous roles include Return of Iljimae, Secret Love, Oldboy), and it’s a refreshing change to see her playing a sassy woman who knows what she wants. And who can blame her for wanting Lee Jung-jin?

Reebok community selects Rain as the No. 2 star with the most energy.

•October 28, 2010 • 4 Comments

My favorite Korean comedian/gag man Kang HoDong, popular longtime variety show host, was given the No. 1 spot, and I have to say that if anyone would get that spot over JiHoon, it would be HoDong, yes.  Yes! 😀

(PSY being included on the list is a given, as well.  For sure!)

HoDong is a veritable Energizer Bunny, just like his dongsaeng (junior) Rain.  In fact, the only time I’ve ever seen him standing still and speechless was during his 2006 wedding, as he beheld the beauty of his bride (I almost didn’t recognize him with his mouth closed LOL).  And I’ve always been comforted by how good of a hyung he seems to have been to JiHoon over the years.  They’ve done so many shows together that there’s no use in even trying to count them all (Strong Heart — where Rain ripped his pants — and Golden Fishery, to name two).

Congrats, HoDong, and congratulations Rain!  Second place is nothing to sneeze at.  We’re pleased.

Korea.com 10/27/2010 —

Kang HoDong elected as No.1 star with the most energy

Seoul, Korea – National MC Kang Ho Dong has been elected as the celebrity with the most energy.

In a survey of 1,190 members of the community café of global sports brand Reebok’s Zigtech products taken from the 11th until the 25th, Kang Ho Dong was ranked no.1 with 116 votes as the ‘celebrity with the most energy’.

It is assumed that because of his background as a Korean wrestling athlete and his high energy hosting duties on many programs, including the wild, road variety program ‘1Night 2Days’, he was chosen as the top.

2nd place went to Rain (Jeong Ji Hoon). He is currently starring as a pleasant, honest, invigorating detective, showing off his usual playful yet strong masculine side.

TV Personality Noh Hong Chul was picked no.3 and singer Lee Hyo Ri was no.4, being the only female celebrity chosen in the top 10. Aside from them, the top 10 included Mighty Mouse, Psy, Jang Hyuk, 2PM, Kim Byung Man and 2AM.

Director Lee Na Young of Reebok’s marketing department remarked “Kang Ho Dong has a strong yet warm energy when he comes out on TV, allowing viewers to have the energy to laugh.”

To mark my comback in a long time, I post a picture you’ve been waiting to see for a long time..ㅋㅋ

This is our jungle expedition leader ‘Ji Hoon’ hyung (Rain) who is in charge of making us laugh.^^

While the drama was filmed on location in The Philippines, we began to work on a photograph like crazy immediately when we exchanged glances after he got into a car used as an item for the drama shoot.ㅋㅋ

I let you know about ‘Ji Hoon’ hyung’s daily life (?) I’ve saved for you..ㅋㅋ

* REFRESHED (in a major way): Our Favorite Pics page.

In addition to updating the Pic of the Week, Terri has given the page both a Runaway/Fugitive AND a long-haired Rain overhaul.  But do not fear if you were severely hung up on the previous landscape… a LOT of that is still there, waiting to entice you and provide you your hourly, daily, or weekly “fix.”

Yum-nummy.

Digest it all, in one sitting, if you can.  Or swallow it down in portions, if necessary.

But go.  Go NOW.  (Gosh, I think we’ll all be quoting Raizo until the end of time LOL)

Enjoy, Rain Clouds. 😀

RUNAWAY: PLAN B follows an international cast on a frantic chase around the world for a fortune in gold stolen 60 years ago during the Korean War. Rain stars as Ji Woo, Asia’s top private investigator, who is approached by a mysterious woman named Jin Yi (played by Lee Na Young). Her unknown motives are only made more complicated by the romance that grows between them. Uehara Takako of Japan’s most successful selling J-pop girl group Speed, plays Kieko, a singer who becomes romantically interested in Ji Woo. Long time Japanese actor Takenaka Naoto plays her father Hiroki, who’s outward appearance as a businessman hides that he is if in fact a powerful yakuza. American actor Daniel Henney (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) stars as Kai, whose past with Jin Yi may unravel it all.

♥♥♥

So far only the San Francisco Chronicle has picked up the release HERE, but you can bet it won’t be long before others join in, because, well, that’s what news sources do.  And believe it or not, Rain, MTV’s Biggest, Badass Star is STILL hot news over here.

As Rain would say, we are “so excited!”

The only thing that might confuse some U.S. fans is why people are using two titles for this drama.  Dramafever.com is calling it Runaway: Plan B, while KBS America, itself, calls it The Fugitive: Plan B.   Yes, I KNOW there are nuances of the word “Domangja” that make some people want to call it “Runaway,” but frankly, after watching 9 episodes of this drama, I can tell you that in English, the word “fugitive” is the better fit for what is happening with Rain’s character, Ji-Woo.

But hey, who really cares?  I’m certainly not that picky.  As long as Rain’s starring in it, I’m good.  Still, from a public relations/marketing perspective, it sure would be nice if somebody somewhere would make sure that EVERYBODY was using the same darned name, at least.  Sheesh!

Have a great day, Clouds.  And don’t forget to watch the 10th episode of The Fugitive: Plan B today!

The following came from DC Rain Gallery and was shared on The Cloud.  Apparently, KBS 2TV does indeed want our input on the Runaway/Fugitive home pages, and posted this in Chinese, Japanese, and English:

We welcome your feedback on The Fugitive: Plan B, so feel free to leave us a message on our homepage, Audience Participation Board.

Anything regarding Rain including the drama’s review, comments on the singer’s performance would be welcomed.

You may encounter some difficulties in signing up the Korean website; however, your feedback would give a great boost to him. He wants to hear your voices.

We always thank you for your tremendous support.

Fans have responded to the post by telling KBS we desperately want to do that and would do just that, IF WE COULD SUCCESSFULLY GET SIGNED UP AND LOGGED IN and be able to maneuver around.  I’ve emailed them several times in the recent past, before the drama even premiered, to tell them that their foreigner registration button was defective, with no response.

So.  Perhaps KBS Korea will finally do something to help in that regard, now?  We’ll see.  Stay tuned.

And let’s check some more official Domangja from KBS, shall we?  Oh, lord.  Did we get popped in the nose during that fight on stage or when DoSoo landed on top of JiWoo in the street? *gasp*

(you know, Director Kwak is a bit of a cutie…)

…that we can’t find Rain’s RAIZO abs in this picture.

Why?  Because his GORGEOUS GOLDEN ABS will do just fine!

I mean good grief.  LOOK at him.  Yummy, right?

Geez.  Only some dingbat would care one way or another, ESPECIALLY at the Asia Song Festival, when his BACKSIDE was looking like THIS:

And THIS

AND THIS…

All I can say is:  abs? What abs?  WTH.

People who keep complaining about Rain’s abs being “uncut” obviously have never tried to maintain an eight-pack themselves.  FYI, a Raizo physique would be almost impossible to maintain for long periods of time (especially with the kind of schedule Rain currently maintains) and is, frankly, UNHEALTHY.

And if there’s one thing we want our Ji-Hoon to be is healthy, right?.  After all, we want him to be around a long, long time, don’t we?

So whoever it was who started this hoopla, PLEASE quit your b**chin’ and GET A LIFE.

That’s all.  I’m done.  You can go back to whatever it was you were doing (like watching Rain videos) before I so rudely interrupted.

One.

Dayyum. Obviously, Cloud USA community member Aussie Ray is trying to KILL us.  I fell and hit my head at least five times during the viewing of this fan vid.

GAH, she even put the fur outfit in there. *follow the bouncing fox tail*

A most excellent job that will most assuredly end up on the It’s Hot In Here page.  Good lawd… what’s she going to do next?  *can’t wait… can’t wait* Give this woman a standing ovation! 😀

Enjoy this fan video made with footage from Rain’s G20/Asia Song Festival performance and his portrayal of JiWoo in The Fugitive: Plan B, all set to Rain’s collaborative song “Wanna Talk” with JUVIE, off of the Vol. 3 It’s Raining album.

Very cool…!  Nice job, Lane (my favorite part is the JiWoo-licking-lips-wink).

Hugs to Brazil. 🙂

[article & news clip] Runaway/Fugitive: “Tom and Jerry” have Helicopter Envy.

•October 27, 2010 • 3 Comments

Rain and JungJin nicknamed Tom and Jerry?  LOL!  Perfect.  Cat and mouse chases galore, yes indeedy.

And oh wow, a clear-cut case of helicopter envy.  Which, when you think about it, is a lot better than another kind of envy.

Just sayin’. 😛

(And hey, sorry for the video re-post, but I didn’t have the article translation or the Tom and Jerry angle before… and the article seems weird without the video now.  So… let’s just enjoy it again.  Haha.  Thanks.)

Article: Rain and ‘Lee Jung Jin’ can’t conceal their envy of Daniel Henney
Credit: Expo News, 10/27/2010
Brief Translation: rain bird @rain-eu.
Video courtesy of: DC / rainbox625 @YT

Rain and ‘Lee Jung Jin’ couldn’t conceal their envy of Daniel Henney through KBS 2TV’s lifestyle news ‘Useful Living Information’ aired on the 26th, which attracts attention.

Nick-named the “Tom and Jerry”, Rain and ‘Lee Jung Jin’ currently appearing in ‘The Fugitive Plan B’ have been engaged in a cat and mouse chase throughout the series. In particularly, there have been a lot of running scenes with all their force.

About this, the only thing we do, Rain says, is running around, as compared with Daniel Henney going on a helicopter ride.

Also, ‘Lee Jung Jin’ used his childlike charms as he made complaints, “There are lots of running scenes which are ours to make, while Daniel Henney always films the drama in luxury suites or the places that are air-conditioned.”

Meanwhile, the behind the scene stories of ‘The Fugitive Plan B’, and interviewing the stars on location were released through this broadcast.
