OMG, poor NaYoung!  How in the heck was she supposed to get the scene right with Rain and the cameraman laughing their butts off at her, take after take?  NG!  NG again!  No go!  Gah!

She should have started smacking some folks around, I tell you.  LOL!

LOL…!  Sooooo!  Gosh, how hilarious.

And the language barrier could have been part of the problem, actually.  Rain buys everyone drinks and sees to them, while Henney just drinks and leaves.  ROFL!

Poor Sung Dong-Il.

‘Sung Dong Il’ playing the character, ‘Nakamura Howang’ in ‘The Fugitive Plan B’, appeared in KBS 2TV’s ‘Win Win Talk Show’ aired last 26th, and said, “Rain makes me feel at ease more than Daniel Henney does. I think Rain as a caring star. Rain takes good care of other people first even though he is a celebrity. Rain and I don’t normally even bother to talk about the whole story of the drama.”

‘Sung Dong Il’ half-jokingly said, beating around the bush, “I don’t know if Daniel Henney doesn’t understand what I am talking about but he just goes home after drinking, whenever Rain buys us a drink.” (Perhaps because Daniel Henney’s Korean is not so good)

Just then, the music was audible from the back stage, and Rain and Daniel Henney showed up as guests. The two’s unpredicted appearance made ‘Sung Dong Il’s head swim.

MBLAQ and Rainbow’s Jaekyung pose for “Black’s Temptation.”

•October 27, 2010 • 10 Comments

Kpoplive.com 10/26/2010 —

MBLAQ and Rainbow‘s Kim Jaekyung posed for an exclusive pictorial for Calvin Klein Jeans Accessories, grabbing much attention. In this pictorial, the chic and charismatic side of the models were highlighted.

In this shot, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon shows his sexiness and surprises the staff. He also got to pose with one of his personal favorite lines of strip bags.

Thunder and Jaekyung bring out an edgy look with the chic, but subtle Osaka bag. The photo shoot creative director, Donald Syrup said that the Black’s Temptation concept was expressed perfectly.

The pictorial will be revealed in the November issue of Arena magazine. So what do you think about the style brought out by your idols?

Here is ETN News’ coverage of the G20/Asia Song Festival, October 23rd.

BEAST looked like they were kicking real butt.  All the artists looked like they did pretty well, in fact.  Rain comes in at about the 5:00 minute mark, and you know it because the reporter sort of loses her mind for a sec.  “Bi… Bi Bi Bi!  Oppa, saranghaeyo!!  Jung JiHoon!!!” ROFL

And this woman in the audience is like Holee crap, I cannot believe he just TEASED me with his abs, gah!  “Saranghae, Bi…!” LMAO

[clip] Rain and Runaway/Fugitive on KBS Vivid Informed.

•October 26, 2010 • 1 Comment

Enjoy this entertainment news look behind the scenes at Runaway/Fugitive, at how the production crew managed to shoot some of those amazing scenes with Rain and the cast in the midst of all the action.  There’s even a little preview of “Win Win” with Dong-Il, and it also sounds like the cast is speculating about the villainous, unknown Melchidec.

This report does a great job in showcasing the actors who came over from Chuno (Slave Hunters).  You can clearly see Director Kwak’s similar work and personal touches in both dramas, something we lovingly call dramatic “Chuno-isms,” you know, where the action suddenly slows down at its peak and comes to a stop, with whatever elements in the scene flying all around the character.  Not to mention the comedic breaks.

So cool.

[news clip] Rain on Ikemen News.

•October 26, 2010 • 3 Comments

Though it’s not in English, we still thoroughly enjoyed this extensive entertainment report from Ikemen News showing Rain’s eight years since his debut.

Seeing as the main theme of the report seems to be several idols (including Rain) living peacefully next to each other in a cartoon house, the caption “Rain: neighboring good-looking guy” does make sense in that context.

When we said extensive, we weren’t kidding.  This thing is chock-full, crammed full with so much.  For you newbies, the Rain projects I recognize are:

DRAMAS: The Fugitive: Plan B, Full House, A Love To Kill, SangDoo! Let’s Go To School

CFs: XNOTE’s Coming, Nature Republic, Nikon.  MUSIC VIDEOS/SHORT FILMS: It’s Raining, Bad Guy, Escaping The Sun, Oh Yeah (MBLAQ), Y (MBLAQ), Rainism, Love Story, Love Song, BMW Meets Truth, I Do, I’m Coming.

MAGAZINES: WKorea.  MOVIES: Ninja Assassin, I’m A Cyborg But That’s Okay, Speed Racer.

CONCERTS: Rain’s World Tour.  DOCUMENTARIES: Discovery Channel’s Hip Korea, MBC’s Rain Is Coming.

EXTRAS: 2010 MTV Movie Awards Badass win, Back To The Basic comeback and farewell stages, RAINY DAY Season 1 (making of Rainism MV), FanClub, 2006 Time 100 Red Carpet, Three Bears.

Have fun with this, all.  If a translation is ever forthcoming, we’ll add it in, but frankly, I don’t see where we really need one.

40,000 Fans Attend 7th Asia Song Festival in Seoul.

•October 25, 2010 • 2 Comments

The Manila Bulletin 10/25/2010 —

Some 40,000 fans from Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and other neighboring countries gathered Saturday night (October 23) to watch the performances of leading pop artists like Rain and BoA in the 7th Asia Song Festival in Seoul, South Korea.

The festival, held at the Jamsil Main Olympic Stadium, showcased the talents of some of Asia’s best singers. This year’s festival was also dubbed as a “G20 Concert” in line with Korea’s hosting of the G20 Summit in November.

Rain sang some of his hit songs including “Rainism”, “Love Song” and “Hip Song,” while BoA performed “Hurricane Venus” and “Copy & Paste.”

K-pop groups BEAST rendered “Shock” and “Soom” while 4Minute sang “I My Me Mine,” “Hot Issue” and “Huh.” The two groups also received the Asia Influential Artist Awards during the program.

2AM sang “I Can’t Let You Go” and “I Was Wrong” while KARA performed “Lupin” and “Mr.”

Other performers were Rainbow, Nine Muses, Lee Seung CHul, Teen Top, Ari Band, E.via, Kim Yeo Hee, Japanese girl group AKB48, Taiwanese singer Joe Cheng, Michael Wong from Malaysia, Bie the Star from Thailand and Jane Zhang from China.

The festival, hosted by Korean actress Eugene, also showcased the performers singing “Let’s Go,” a song composed for the G2O Summit.

This year’s festival was also held for the benefit of UNICEF.

[Cloud USA] Bi Yourself Open Thread for 10/25-10/31.

•October 25, 2010 • 42 Comments

» You can visit the previous Open Thread and a Runaway/Fugitive viewing primer HERE.   And of course, don’t forget that our Cloud USA Forum is a most excellent place for Rain love, fan communication, and self-expression.

By the way — have you left a message for JiHoon on The Cloud today?

Just a quick FYI:  We don’t begrudge anyone sharing the many links and uploads that are out there for Fugitive viewing.  Not at all!  No Rain fan should be unable to watch Rain’s work because of location or lack of funds, and we’re glad to see fans looking out for each other.  However—while it may seem that we have little knowledge of re-uploading or fully covering the show, nothing could be further from the truth (and we have extensive personal collections to prove that). 🙂

Cloud USA isn’t a fan site only—it’s also a promotional site.  We are promoting Rain.  And with that comes the responsibility of helping Runaway/Fugitive Plan B do as well as it possibly can ratings-wise and monetarily.  That is what benefits Rain’s career and keeps it going in the direction he needs—proof of his VALUE to the Powers That Be.  That is why our viewing primers only include legal outlets that gather proper numbers and revenue at this time (the only things that Powers That Be pay attention to).

One day, you’ll probably see episodes here.  But now isn’t the time (especially with the current drop in ratings), and we hope you all understand where we’re coming from.

Have a marvelous week, everyone.

2010 MAMAs: Finally some clarity?

•October 24, 2010 • 2 Comments

[Cloud USA] We haven’t said much up to this point about this year’s upcoming Mnet Asian Music Awards and whether Rain would be there or not because, quite frankly, we didn’t understand what the heck was going on.

First off, there was the 2010 promotional reel that showed past MKMF and MAMA footage (no problem with that, a normal practice, and we loved seeing Rain walk on water again from 2008) but said “2009” in big graphic letters with NO MENTION of 2010 at all.  Very confusing.  And then there was the date controversy.  (December… no, November…)  *sigh*

But now, we’ve run across this:

And it appears to be outlining what we saw on the 21BANGS.com fan site for girl group 2NE1 HERE… so it may be safe to say that Rain and MBLAQ will be appearing at the 2010 MAMAs in Macao at the end of November… or not.  The show is being held overseas for the first time in history, and the artist list is subject to change.  (Please access the link above for information on show time, place, and tickets.)

» The 2010 MAMAs Facebook page is HERE.  This is where the promotional reel is posted.

» The new 2010 MAMA teaser has been posted by allkpop HERE.

Let’s hope the confusion is over… ?

Korean Grand Prix nearly “rained out.” :)

•October 24, 2010 • 6 Comments

[Cloud USA] I ran across the long-awaited Korean Grand Prix live on my cable provider’s Speed Channel late last night and eagerly tuned in because, even though Rain and the other K-Pop artists’ appearances at the KGP Festival would have happened in the days before the Big Race, I’m still a Formula 1 babe at heart.

Well, after YEARS of planning, building the new Yeongam race course, and excitement over having this circuit as a stop in the 2010 Formula 1 season… the doggone race was almost ruined only four laps in because of bad weather.

There we were at a Red Flag, completely stopped because the track wouldn’t drain water, waiting with Mark Webber in second spot while it rained cats and dogs, until the sun began to set.  And when things did finally clear up, more disaster for point-leader Mark when he spun in water and totaled his car into a wall.  He walked away unhurt, but… BUMMER!

Maybe next time (next stop should be Brazil).

Why was I so fixated on Mark Webber?  Well, not only is he one of my favorite F1 drivers, he scored major points with me last November when he (and his stand-in Ninja LOL) and Rain rocked F1 Rocks Singapore concert tickets and a Ninja Assassin premiere promo.  Remember?  “Rain—I want those tickets!”  “Sorry, it’s mine.”  Haha!  Hilarious! 🙂

» Our previous post on the KGP is HERE.  If I find a current write-up about Rain’s part in any pre-race festival activities, I’ll be sure to post that here.

RAINY DAY Season 2, episode 38.

•October 23, 2010 • 3 Comments

Asia broadcast 10/23.  Continuation from last week, ZEPPing through Tokyo Hall.  And the congregation said AMEN! 😀

Oh, oh, oh!  Let’s get started on stage with “Sad Tango” commando style, red-lighted and super sexy.  And, true to the original music video, right before the second pass, the Men do a modified death roll and kip-up to their feet, as if defying gravity.  Oh, my stars, I was waiting for that! ♥

(there I go with the “hearts” again… *sigh*  *groan*)

Check out how JiHoon’s hair is indeed in its own starring role, slinging and flashing under the lights as he throws himself into movement.  “Let me show you… let me tell you, how much I miss you… *singing in Korean,Korean, Korean* guurrrlll—”  Keep watching, ladies, keep watching to the end… LOOK AT THAT HAIR!

(and Stephe is down)

Whoa—okay, I’m back now.  And it’s the World-famous Artist stepping it up with “Touch Ya.”  Check out that “gun.”  All of him, in fact.  Rain continues to be pop-elastic in everything he does here.  Can you just imagine seeing that in person?  He seems to be delighting in the audience quite a lot, and they respond in kind.  Very cool.  “All the ladies, can ya—”  Oops!  Did you catch a cramp?  LOL!

Ah, black-lit neon “Don’t Stop” is up next.  Always a favorite, and the dancers for this one get a wow.  Not only that… rewind it and watch as Rain comes back onto the stage after the song—was HE the final neon dancer in ORANGE?  By looking at the butt, and that smug look on his face, I’d say yeah.  Why, you sneaky little devil, you! 😀

And then it’s time to “date” with the audience.  Awww. 🙂

What an enjoyable episode.  Have fun, all.  Next week, looks like we’ll be Rain-camming and “My Girl”-ing.  *fist-pump*

Rain gets time off from Runaway/Fugitive to deliver a charity performance.

•October 23, 2010 • 3 Comments

[Cloud USA] Asian source the Daily Sports reported in their pages back on October 22nd that Rain attended a charity event for the disabled, and put on a performance at that event on the evening of the 20th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hannam-dong, Seoul.

Even with everything going on around him these days, he gave this non-paying event importance and made time for it.

“Love Song” and “Hip Song” were two of the numbers performed for the audience.

The event’s organizer is quoted as saying, “We were inwardly worried that Rain would cancel his scheduled performance because he’s been through a lot of heartache lately by malicious gossip about him, but he came to the event hall as promised and gave an exuberant performance.”

And Rain is quoted as saying on that day, “I’ve got the time off from shooting drama ‘The Fugitive Plan B’ to attend this event. Thank you for inviting me to this very significant event.”

(Thanks to rain bird, Rain Europe, and the Daily Sports/Nate News for this information.)

If we find the name of the charity event in our research, we’ll be sure to amend this post.  Carry on, JiHoon, in your strong, indomitable way.  Don’t let anything get you down!
