Oooooh, an ad released by the official Mentholatum China micro-blog about a new concept store… ? Interesting! (Image: as tagged)
The gist of their post is that a Mentholatum concept store in Guangzhou University City is running some serious specials in order to recruit students for membership during the month of July. They’re offering low prices for guys, surprise gifts, and good benefits. First come, first serve. I could swear they refer to Rain as the new Pitt (as in Brad), but that’s just a guess on my part… 🙂 ^@@^ (brief summary and cap: Stephe @CloudUSA)

As you all recall, this is a song that Rain recorded not for an album or a comeback, but simply for his fans to enjoy and have fun with, so it will always be pretty special to us.
We have the official MV released by J.Tune Camp, as well as the English/Hangeul/Romanization subs, and Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, German, Vietnamese, Romanian, and Arabic subtitled videos so far. If you know of any other languages that this song is subbed in out there, please do let us know at our letitrain @cloudusa (dot) org email box. Aigooooooooo, what an unexpected treat. I think I had some type of stroke when this happened. I can still feel the aftereffects.
This morning at around 12:27 am Eastern time (1:27 pm Korea time), during the “K대R, R대K” (KCM versus Rain, Rain versus KCM) segment of military radio show Speeding Instinct, our beloved DJs seemed to have a ballad battle on the studio live mic. Before we knew what the heck he was about, Rain stepped up and did a shortened version of Lee Juk’s “It’s Fortunate/I’m So Fortunate” and blew us the hell away. Stunned doesn’t even come close to describing what we were all feeling in Tweetland. I wish I remembered what KCM sang right after that. I know he sounded good too! Perhaps it will come out in the show translation and full show audio clip. *fingers crossed*

[review][Cloud USA] J.Y. Park’s Kristalbelli Restaurant is a must-see, must-eat.
•June 30, 2012 • 1 Comment— Cloud cover by: Stephe Thornton, Managing Editor ^@@^
CloudUSA community member Sarah Latimer, located in Pennsylvania, visited the Big Apple recently and located Park JinYoung‘s new restaurant Kristalbelli, which boasts a full range of authentic, robust Korean flavors while also highlighting the delicate aspects of Korean cooking.
The upscale Kristalbelli opened in March of this year and, from the sound of the articles in the media (this New York Times review is only one of many), it is an elegant testament to its owner’s taste. The special convex 99.9% crystal grills in each table, for cooking fresh food better, faster, and without toxins, were designed by JYP himself. Personally, when I read that Chef David Shim had also cooked at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, that sold me. And so, between Shim and the grills, I am of a mind that this restaurant should be on your must-eat list. Bulgogi Dupbap, here I come.
For Sarah (for now), it is a definite must-see. Do enjoy her current review.

[review][walk-through] JYP’s Kristalbelli Restaurant on June 16
By: Sarah @CloudUSA, 6/16/2012, Saturday
Images: Sarah @CloudUSA
After arriving in New York City, my friend and I decided to find Kristalbelli since it was only a few blocks away, so I could at least get a picture of the entrance.
We walked right by it a few times, expecting there to be a larger sign above the door. As you can see from the picture, the name is written in a very unassuming and elegant way on the sophisticated wooden door. The exterior of the building is very pretty, but also unassuming. While getting ready to take my picture and be on my way, a server came out and invited us to come in and check the place out. After snapping a quick picture, we went in to satisfy my curiosity.
You would never know such a beautiful interior waited on the other side of such an understated exterior. The first glimpse was truly breathtaking.
After telling the manager/host at the front about being a fan of JYP and Rain, he graciously gave me permission to take pictures while looking around. He told me that JYP had been in only last week and was to return at some point next month, although he was not at liberty to tell me when.
As for the interior, each table has a beautiful marble top with a grill in the center. The grill is a Buddha-like figure in gold with a lid covering the grilling surface as his belly. When the lid is removed, it reveals what I believe to be the meaning behind the restaurant’s name. Each grilling surface is a large convex crystal disc sitting on top of the heat source.
The surroundings are very elegant and beautiful, but your attention is automatically drawn to the tables themselves.
The extremely nice server led us upstairs to the bar and lounge, which continued the exquisite upscale theme with gold and silver seating as well as another dining area. They also have an area where you can try out the headphones that JYP designed himself. Unfortunately we were unable to dine there as this was between daily dining hours and we had other people to meet up with, so I cannot give any information on how the food tastes, but I have no doubt that the attention given to the surroundings and the choosing of exceptional staff would also be given to the dishes themselves.
The staff’s ability to make me feel so welcome as an out-of-place southern girl in an upscale restaurant, and show us around while not even open yet, amazed me and makes me want to return to try their food. The lunch items are very reasonably priced, especially for an upscale restaurant in NYC, and include simple traditional foods such as Bibimbap and Kimchi Jjigae. Dinner is a little out of my price range but more in the range of what is to be expected from that type of establishment in that area. (I am sorry my pictures do not do justice to the establishment!)
When I return with my husband to actually eat at Kristalbelli, I will hopefully take pictures more successfully and have another wonderful experience to share with all my fellow Clouds.
If you are in NYC, this place is a must-see and is very close to Penn Station, making it easy to get to from just about anywhere in the city. It is located on 8 West 36th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. It is on your left if you’re coming from 5th Avenue.
Thanks for letting me share my little adventure with all of you.

[MBLAQ check] MBLAQ is Proud to be a K-Pop Group.
•June 30, 2012 • 2 Comments— S. ^@@^
eNewsWorld via Yahoo! Philippines 6/29/2012 —Reporter: Oh, MiJung (omj0206@cj.net) / CJ E&M
[interview] MBLAQ is Proud to be a K-Pop Group
MBLAQ has spread its wings, and it soon aims to fly to the heart of Asia.
Starting with its concert in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 30, MBLAQ plans to tour through Bangkok on July 7, Seoul from July 21-22, Osaka on July 26, Tokyo from July 30-31 and Taipei on August 18 with its six-city Asia tour BLAQ%.
The group has continued to grow since it made its debut in 2009, and plans to step up to a bigger stage and meet with more fans across Asia.
When we met the members at their practice room in Gangnam, they were busy practicing for their first ever exclusive overseas tour.
Although they seemed busy, they looked more excited than they had looked for any time in their career.
How do you feel about your upcoming concert?
Seung Ho: “I’m so nervous because it’s our first exclusive overseas concert. It’s happening thanks to the love sent us by so many people.”
Should we be looking forward to the concert? What is there to see?
Seung Ho: “A lot of the songs’ moods will change. There will also be a lot to see in individual performances. A lot of performances no one has ever seen before will be put onstage. It’ll be a special present. We’re preparing magic shows, dance and even piano performances.”
Lee Joon: “We plan to rearrange our original content. There will be dance and song. We plan to interpret [our songs] in a new way.”
What does your agency’s representative singer, RAIN, say about the concert?
Seung Ho: “He always tells us that we should practice hard but forget all about it and just enjoy when we’re onstage. He also told us to pour all our efforts into practice, and that when we’re so exhausted we feel like we’re going to die after that we should start laughing.”
“He said that’ll help us touch our fans’ hearts more. That’s what he said, but it’s hard. If you’re exhausted, you’re just exhausted; you can’t laugh. That’s why [Rain is] so great.”
These days, idol groups go overseas more often than they go to the regional areas. It’s all thanks to the K-Pop boom.
Seung Ho: “That’s right. We didn’t get to hold any exclusive concerts in the regions, but we’re holding them overseas. We actually go to Tokyo, Japan more often than we go to any regional city in Korea.”
“We do get worried, though. I think since we expose too much [to our overseas fans], we won’t be mysterious anymore. Almost all K-Pop singers travel overseas. Since overseas fans have so many chances to see them, they feel less need to catch every concert.”
Has anything interesting happened overseas?
Seung Ho: “Last year, we went to Brazil in the summer to film … .

SONG OF THE WEEK: “내여자 Acoustic version (Nae Yeoja/My Girl)”, Track 2 on Disc 2 of Rain’s Vol. 5 Rainism Recollection (2009). Notice that this isn’t the one we’re so used to, from the original 2008 Rainism album. This is the acoustic version on the massive 2-disc release that came out four months later. And it is lovely. Ahhhh! (The continuous takes for his Pizza Hut commercials are just adorable. He’s so good at giving the camera what it needs.)

•June 26, 2012 • 13 CommentsWhen I’m rolling in my Hybrid Hyundai and listening to my very favorite songs, these are the sounds from my playlist—whether he were to do an occasional cover or match the vibe—that I think would have Rain lighting up our airwaves like a Christmas tree. (JiHoon, are you listening?)
What’s on your fantasy Rain playlist, dear fans? Why?

(Courtesy of TheFabulousBlues @YT) Just think of how much FUN this would be, not as a marketed song, but done live with a tambourine, Retro attire, some booty shakin’ and the audience clapping right along as he plays to them with that tongue hanging out. Heheh!

Rain does a School of Rock program in 2004 with popular actress Yoon EunHye (Coffee Prince, etc.), former member of girl group Baby V.O.X.
Wow! Rain sneaked in and gave these students a MAJOR coronary. Haha! Looks like the whole school cleared out. And double-WOW, a few of the students got pretty doggone frisky with Oppa during the talent segment. LMAO! I’m sure he appreciated that very much. No, really. I’m sure he did! 🙂 ^@@^

[Cloud USA] Concerning the Petition to the Defense Agency for Information Services.
•June 27, 2012 • 119 CommentsDear Clouds:
By now, many of you have probably seen the petition that was written by huhuhuhu on the official Cloud fan site in South Korea.
Everyone probably also knows that Cloud USA wasn’t very comfortable with the idea of firing off a complaint letter to the ROK Army, because we didn’t want to inadvertently make Rain’s situation there (or his workload) worse.
However, after a thorough investigation, we have decided that it is imperative that fans support Rain and all of the Public Relations soldiers by signing this petition. The petition letter will be sent to DEMA by the Cloud Overseas Fan Coordinator on Friday (KST), so if you wish to participate, please sign it right away with your name and country. DEADLINE: Thursday, 6/28 @11am Eastern Standard Time.
One thing we have not changed on is that it is every fan’s personal decision whether or not to put her/his name on the letter. (We mean that. And no one is required to defend themselves or explain unless they simply want to.) But we hope that you give it your support.
Thanks,
Stephe ^@@^ and Terri :-}
