Blasts from the past #163 and 164.

Well let me tell you! If you’ve seen one “It’s Raining” performance, you certainly have not seen them all. The difference with these two is that 1) Rain has ATTITUDE for DAYS, and 2) The camerawork is TOP NOTCH. Beeee-utiful. All up in the merchandise so we can see what we’re buying.

  1. See now, I had to rewatch 2:17-2:21 multiple times. See what you did??

  2. I will always love “It’s Raining”, of course, but I ESPECIALLY love watching any video of him performing it from this time frame. He is so EXTRA into it and super sassy… lol. I could watch this a thousand times.

Sadly, he does some of the choreography differently these days and I miss it. Not as many hip thrusts and the dance break is different. Sigh… oh well, thankfully I can always go back and watch this, and others like it, at any time. 🙂

  3. These videos were way cool. At the end of the first video, there’s parts 1 & 2 of the Making of Rain’s 3rd album on MTV. I watched those as well. I had never seen them and they are pretty awesome as well, especially part 2. I got to see a little of JYP working with American artists of color. Always a treat to see people from different countries working together.

Which makes me think that another reason why Bi stood out, even as a young artist, is JYP groomed him for world wide Appeal even back then…..not just for Asia. Bi starting working with American singers and dancers almost from day one. This is why it seems like such a Natural progression to transition his career on a much larger scale now. Those “making of” videos seemed to showcase the early intent to push toward a grander scale quite nicely. It was very interesting to see. Did JYP spend as much time grooming his other young artists in this way? (I ask cause I don’t know) He knew Bi was The One…………(sounds all prophetic doesn’t it?…….SMILES)

    • I totally agree with you there. There was definitely a “where this young dude is going” vibe during his JYP days as opposed to just “where he is right now.”
