Rain leads ‘sexiest male lips’ beats TOP and Nickhun
Singer Rain has the best looking lips.
Music site Monkey 3 is currently conducting a survey called ‘Whose lips calls the Kiss?’ in date to Kiss Day on the 14th of June.
Starting from the 9th of June to the 15th, 1,021 people have taken part. Rain has the vote of 52% of these people.
Other than that are Big Bang’s TOP, Choi Seung-hyeon (15%), 2PM Nickhun (13%), actor Won Bin (9%), JYJ Kim Jun-su (6%), and actor Jo In-Seong (5%) listed for the sexiest lips.
Meanwhile, Rain is currently filming the movie “Flight: Close to the Sun” with actress Sin Se-kyeong.

As some of you know, two years ago, mega-empire Pizza Hut signed Rain on as their spokesmodel and company ambassador, and we got some really cute and funny CFs out of that. I ran into this yesterday, however, and hadn’t seen it beforeโRain’s appearance at a Pizza Hut event put together especially for children, in July of ’09.

Congrats to Rain for doing so well in South Korean ads this past year. He works hard for his pay and certainly deserves every single penny, and never fails to take care of those who are dependent on him doing a good job.
In places such as China and Thailand, Rain has even more advertising endorsements than some of their native people… Yes, he has branched out even further into world CF star status, with more of that to come, surely. With him already endorsing prestigious world companies Cartier and MCM (it gets no more luxurious than that) and big wigs Mentholatum China’s Men Skincare line and the CJ Group empire, etc., it’s only a matter of time before Rain is in commercial films and advertisements across every continent.

Which Stars make the most money from CFs?
Which stars make the most money from endorsements?
Recently, the top 7 male and female CF (commercial film) stars were revealed based on how many different products they had endorsed from June 2010 to May 2011. However, based on profits during a one year contract period, it appears that Lee Young Ae tops the money list with around $1.1 million USD earned as a CF model. Popular idol group Big Bang followed her up on the list with approximately $1 million USD from advertising products such as cell phones and beer.
โWorld Starโ Rain and actress Go Hyun Jung are close behind the boys with $920,000 USD each. In places such as China and Thailand, Rain has even more advertising endorsements than some of their native people and despite being forty-years-old, Go Hyun Jung is still beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere for her luxury make-up and coffee CFs.
Idol groups 2PM and JYJ each have earned about $740,000 USD. 2PMโs agency said, โEven though the boys are currently resting from activities, theyโre still busy with advertising promotions and filming schedules. When an advertisement calls for both strong and manly charisma, everyone wants 2PM.โ
โSexy divaโ Lee Hyori and the recently discharged Jo In Sung have also earned around $740,000 USD. While Jo In-Sung was in the army, many top stars were busy appropriating his CF contracts. After gaining a lot of popularity through the drama โSecret Gardenโ, Hyun Bin had received about $640,000 USD as a model and over $3.7 million USD from advertising before he enlisted in the army. Lee Seung Gi made between $460,000 and $550,000 USD.
A person who works in the advertisement industry explained, โA CF starโs payment is decided based on the personโs image and popularity.โ Considering the top names mentioned in this article, this comes as no surprise. While some of them didnโt make the list for endorsing the most products in a year, they made this list for earning the most money.

K-pop spreads to Central America, Africa via Youtube
The growing popularity of Korean pop culture, or K-pop, has spread to Central America and Africa after reaching Europe thanks to Youtube.
The Korean Cultural Center of Latin America in Argentina said Sunday that it plans to hold the second regional K-Pop contest in Argentina in September. A combined 407 people on 171 teams from 14 countries have applied, about twice as many as in the first event, and hail from across Latin America except Cuba, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
While Mexico, Chile and Peru faced the “Korean Wave” relatively earlier than other countries, Korean pop culture is less known in Argentina, the center said. The September contest is thus expected to help promote the Korean Wave in Argentina, and K-pop’s popularity is rapidly spreading through social media sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
On YouTube, the video of a recent concert by top Korean band Girls’ Generation has been viewed in almost all countries around the world, including Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

It’s time for ADIEU! 2010 With Rain, his end-of-year New Year’s Eve blowout party concert where he and the Crew give 2010 the ol’ Heave-Ho. Laters, 2010… hellooooooo 2011. And what better way to do that than with die-hard fans?
Of course, as is proper for any world class artist, crew, and viewers-at-home, we all get loosened up before hitting the stage. Rotate… rotate… stretch… s-t-r-e-t-c-h… Must get all the kinks out in order to not pull a muscle, screw up a move, or outright break something during the actual performance, yeah? (Aww, he looks so cute, Mr. Task Master Ring Leader ^_~ … sort of takes me back to high school gym class, and Shorin Ryu karate class, where teacher would choose a classmate to lead warm-ups, remember?)
And so Rain warms up his hard-working thighs, SungTak warms up his broad shoulders, Gori warms up his hair… and we’re done! Everyone meets in the middle for The Pep Talk (where Rain usually reminds everyone to do their very best, to be extremely careful, not get hurt, have a good time and let’s go get ’em), one-two-three break!, and they are ON. Of course, there is a quick autograph, fan meet, and a final mirror check of The Adorable Cuteness on the way to the stage.
“It’s JYP, again. Are you ready, Rain?”
“I’m ready.” And indeed he is as the figurative ADIEU! curtain comes down and Rain launches into “I’m Coming.” Holy Toledo, Baby Boy not only looks fabulous, but truly happy. Bounce that hair! Bounce that hair! I’ll tell you who else looks faboโthe beautiful Women behind the Man. They are on point, and frame him like champs. *applause, applause* It doesn’t matter how many ADIEU fan cams or news clips we’ve seen (only a million)… watching Rain from another point of view is always like watching him new. I cannot explain why that is.
Then we’re through the Mission Impossible headbanger rock break and on into “Touch Ya”, one of the best ways to start any concert. The Men look wonderful during this song! They always do. My favorite parts are the very beginning, when Gori, Hongshi and Rain start off, and then going into the second verse, when the two cuties KyuSang and YongDeock frame Rain and simply throw down. You may recall that this was where Rain totally freaked the fans out by unexpectedly leaping atop a half-wall and giving folks some love. Just look at his smile, will you? โฅ โฅ
Loved this RAINY DAY episode. Cannot wait for next Saturday. Signing off and saying ADIEU for now…

Something for the rainy weekend
You may remember back from late January that I was one of the invited guests at MCM London store and *ahem* met Rain (Jung Ji Hoon), we watched him signed merchandise for fans who queued painstakingly for hours in the rain. Well, I present you with this official photo which Iโve been longing to publish on the Style Slicker blog, I need to clarify the fact that I am not Rainโs fan but was pleased meet a brand ambassador as I am a huge fan of MCM. Ooo check out Rainโs t-shirt!
I canโt recall the memory of the event as it seems like a long distance memory, I shall leave you with this short cute video clip for you fans out there to keep you entertained throughout the weekend. Ciao.

We are well used to Rain either covering or being featured inside the LOTTE Homme (for men) and seeing his ads inside the LOTTE Femme (for women), Lotte Duty Free’s magazines for Asian consumers, for the past year.

Rain’s birthday gift this year from his official Korean and world fan club will be an iPad2, which will have a video clip of compiled still photos and video greetings loaded onto it. And so, The Cloud is collecting 8th Cloud birthday greetings from all over the world. (The resulting video that will be uploaded into the Cloud-Filled Room on the site, for us all to see, will have Clouds’ faces blurred out for privacy, but the version that Rain gets on his new iPad will be intact so that he can see everyone.)

Okay, I’m just noticing something… I saw this picture without the owner’s tag, posted on The Cloud, before I saw it withย the tag. Does that mean that a Rain fan took this guy’s image and cropped his tag OFF of it? Tsk-tsk. Sometimes I wonder about “fans” and where their heads are at…

Saw world star Rain real live while we were traveling just the family in Jebu Island, Kyungki-do’s Howasung region, but I only had a distant view of him…hahaha

When we moved to the marina, a staff came up to me and asked to abstain from photography, so I asked him, “What is this regarding?”. He expressed, “Rain is now shooting a movie”. Sure enough, I did what he asked.
I flatter myself I’ve seen a lot of entertainers, but this is the first time I have seen a real global star like Rain.
In the picture, Rain is spinning along the roads on his motorcycle.
Coordinators were seen gathering around him as soon as the director shouted ‘Cut!’ !!!
As might have been expected, Rain took the lead at the atmosphere of the set~~
As I know, since it is his last movie before he enters the army, it has attracted the attention of the public.
The title of this move starring him with actress ‘Shin Se Kyung’, is ‘Flight : Close to the Sun’.
Though from a distance, I grabbed the camera and pushed the button before I left.. hahaha

French police form lines to allow vans with Korean pop stars on board to get through hordes of fans upon the performers’ arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, yesterday, to hold two concerts starting tonight. Over 1,500 European fans flocked to the airport to greet the stars. [YONHAP]
PARIS – The Korean Wave has stretched beyond Asia and reached the heart of Europe.
On Wednesday evening, members of three popular Korean pop groups landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris for a concert and were met by over 1,500 teenage fans from France, England, Italy and Sweden. The teens surged to get a look at 10 singers as they came through customs, and French police had to escort the performers safely to a van outside.
The performers were from the groups TVXQ, SHINee and f(x), and many fans wept upon seeing them.
“I can’t believe I saw the faces of SHINee members with my own two eyes”, said a teenage girl wiping tears away.
To maintain order, over 50 local police officers were deployed. Fans started gathering at the airport at 2 p.m., hours ahead of the stars’ arrival at 7:30 p.m. “Hundreds of fans flocking to the airport is a common scene upon the arrival of a celebrity”, said an airport policeman. “But I’ve never seen such a large number of fans turning up at Charles de Gaulle”.
Most of the fans were female, and they arrived at the airport carrying posters of the performers with messages written in Hangul, and even Korean flags.
Some fans camped out in a corner of the airport arrival hall and sang favorite songs by the groups, such as SHINee’s “Ring Ding Dong” and Girls’ Generation’s “Gee”, and mimicked their dance moves. Most of the fans at the airport were reported to be members of Korean Connection, which is a club for K-pop aficionados.
A 14-year-old fan said, “The thought of meeting the singers kept me up all night”. A 65-year-old fan said proudly, “I only watch Korean dramas and listen to Korean music at home”.
The idols themselves were surprised at the reception, according to SM Entertainment, the agency that represents them.
“We didn’t expect such a crowd”, said Kim Eun-ah, a PR representative of SM Entertainment. “Our artists were surprised and said they’ll make every effort to prepare for the concerts in return for the support from the European fans”.
The three Korean groups will perform at “SM Town Live in Paris” today and tomorrow at Le Zenith de Paris concert hall, which has a seating capacity of 6,000.
Tickets were reported to have sold out in 15 minutes. Girls’ Generation and Super Junior, from the same agency, are also scheduled to perform at the concert. It’s the first European concert for SM’s talent.
Originally, only one concert was scheduled for Paris, but hundreds of French fans rallied in front of the Louvre last month demanding an extra show. SM Entertainment agreed to a second concert.

Rain poses with Shin Se-gyeong on movie set
Asian superstar Rain has given fans an update on his recent life, posting a picture of himself with actress Shin Se-gyeong on the set of their upcoming movie.
In the photograph uploaded on Rainโs official Twitter account yesterday, the singer-actor is seen making a v-sign with his hands while donned in a suit, with Shin crouching between him and the director of Korean action movie “Take Off: Closer to the Sun” (translated title).
He wrote a comment below saying, “With the director ‘Take Off’ and the really nice and cute actress Se-gyeong. We are currently filming the movie.”
Rain has been working on his latest action pic “Take Off: Closer to the Sun” which is a remake of the 1964 Korean movie “Red Muffler.”
The movie tells the story of life, love and comradeship of fighter pilots amid the risky situation on the Korean Peninsula. Rain will play the role of a fighter pilot and Shin is taking on the role of a mechanic.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, has been considered one of biggest stars in Korea and throughout Asia since the start to his solo singing career in 2002. He has also expanded his career into acting, playing several small screen roles such as “Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School” and “Full House.”
He then made his Hollywood debut in 2008, through the Wachowski Brothers’ action pic “Speed Racer” and landed the lead role in martial arts film “Ninja Assassin” a year later.
Shin made her debut in 1998 and rose to stardom with the smash hit sitcom โHigh Kick 2โ which aired from 2009 to 2010. She completed shooting a noir drama film titled โBlue Saltโ also starring Song Gang-ho and Chun Jung-myung.

For those of you who haven’t been over there to see the June 2011 changes yet, we thought you might like a look at the Men’s Uno Hong Kong website updated with Rain.
FYI: The blurb on the page that introduces the magazine’s June issue feature story speaks about how Rain has transformed from a boy into a manโand quite well. The magazine recounts when Men’s Uno first interviewed Rain in South Korea for their cover in 2004, and found him to beโintentionally or unintentionallyโsomewhat childlike. They concede that he should have been exactly that, being only in his early 20s, and that now, after a ten-year career, he stands before them as an amazingly mature man of 30 (Korean age) who has continuously improved and reinvented himself in astonishing ways.
Also included in the interview is talk of Rain’s experiences around the middle and latter parts of his career, as well as his own thoughts about hard work, continued self-improvement, trying new images and new things, the military, the Dresden Music Festival, and even tweeting his leopard-print shirt picture from Germany.
It seems to us, from the tone of the piece, that Men’s Unoย has enjoyed watching Rain grow, and grow.
