Recently we had a question in the Cloud USA community about where to watch back-episodes of RAINY DAY Season 3. Which made us think, “Do people not know that we have a special page for those? Seriously?”
Well, we doooo, folks. There is a RAINY DAY 3 button at the very top of the blog that takes you there. Just an FYI.
Matter of fact, you’d be pretty surprised at what all was in our media blog sidebar. Our blog isn’t just a blog. It’s a whole Rain landscape.

Sit back and relax, dear Rain fans. We’re continuing our journey from last weekend, through the casual rehearsal for the RAIN The Best Show 2011 Korea tour concert.
(Yes, JiHoon, inspect the safety harness for that platform thoroughly. Your life depends on it!)
Virtual superhero intro, check. Live band, check. Lighting, check. So far, so good. And it doesn’t matter how many times I see the virtual intro and Rain’s demeanor in that thing, as if he is coming down from On High and he KNOWS we’re going to be under his spell the entire time, I never get tired of it. Watching his creativity play out day to day is so darned entertaining!
And so “Hip Song’ and “Touch Ya” go off without a hitch. And “You (make me crazy)” and “I Love You Again.” The Men Behind the Man are looking GOOD. The Women are GORGEOUS. Hmm. I never knew that the Union Jack could look so s-w-e-e-t on the side of a man’s thigh, but then it is JiHoon‘s thigh, right? Just an observation. 🙂
Lord, the choreography of “Don’t Stop”, as it flows out of Rain’s long body, has been a favorite of mine for years. Rarrr.
Ah! We get a treasured glimpse of the song most special to the Best Busan stop—popular vintage Kpop hit “Come Back To Busan Port” (or Return To Busan Port), made famous by 61-year-old Kpop legend Cho YongPil, considered by many the most influential figure in Korean Pop music. It really was a magnificent idea, and so thoughtful, to include something so personal to a host city in its concert. Nice job, Rain!
And then… yes! A look at some rehearsal time for “September”, the U.S. R&B 70s hit from the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire (not to be confused with “September 12”, that’s a whole other puppy). Don’t you just love the way he belts out “Septem-baaaaaaah!” Heheh.
Looks like, for all intents and purposes, this Best Korea casual run-through is over, which means we may be somewhere else next Saturday. Any ideas as to where that will be? See you then, Rain fans!
J.Tune Camp calls it the 2011 Gangnam Hanryu Festival. It is identified as the Gangnam K-Wave Festival in the clip. No big deal, though… Hanyru and K-Wave refer to the exact same thing anyway.
And the most important thing is that Rain will be there.

*Edited to Add 10/5/11: Well, ask and ye shall receive! Haha! BEASTie boys HyunSeung and YoSeob having fun with Rain’s “Busan Woman” recently at a show! How utterly cute. Buy them both really good meals, JiHoon—they’ve earned it. ♥
Big thanks to the fan cammers who shared these precious gems, and thanks to Cloud Unite for the tip.

This is a pretty serious and in depth article about how the Korean film industry has moved up in the world in the past ten years, and why. Which makes it all the more exciting that the likes of Rain, DongGun, DoYeon, and director Park ChanWook, to name a few, were mentioned in it.
Yes, they are all directly responsible for South Korea’s rise in the world arena.
We are very proud of Rain for his contribution. Proud of them all.
Besides Korea’s well known cell phone, semi-conductor and shipbuilding industries, Korean film has also become globally renowned. The industry went through rapid growth in various areas over the last decade and achieved significant developments in its quantity.
The creative stories and dynamic images featured in Korean films have gained the world’s attention. Several films were shown to wide acclaim in major film festivals across the globe catching the eyes of both film professionals and the world audience. Therefore, Korea is becoming the first country film professionals look to when searching for new talent.
Korean film financing largely depends on equity financing. Equity financing does not guarantee a payment on the principal, but it is similar to an interest paying method with profits made according to the size of the investment. The main investor who owns the copyright is in charge of raising such funds. Equity financing for Korean films can be generally divided into three categories – the main investor, sub-investor and the production company which raises funds on its own. The main investor, investment companies which own the distribution rights, uses the money raised by the production company and the money borrowed from the sub-investor for the production costs and then secures the copyright. It also manages the production, ensures the completion of the film, calculates the profit and costs and licenses the rights. The sub-investor supplies a portion of the costs used for production to the main investor and is entitled to receive a fixed percentage of the profits made from licensing sales in accordance with its equity share.
Investment Structure
Korean filmmakers have earned a global reputation for their hard work and innovation. From world renowned directors to skilled crews and experts in post production, as Korea has one of the most competitive workforces in the global film industry. It has therefore become the most soughtafter location in Asia when it comes to international productions.
Award-winning Writers, Directors, and Producers
Korean directors and producers have become highly recognized in the international film community. From director Kim Ki-duk’s Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter to Park Chan-wook’s Old Boy and Lee Chang-dong’s Poetry, Korean films have swept up numerous awards at Cannes and other prestigious film festivals.
Talented Actors and Actresses
For the last decade Korean actors and actresses have been at the center of Hallyu, or the Korean Wave, and have become loved by audiences from all over Asia. As the leading figures in the Asian entertainment industry, their acting talents have been highly recognized and have drawn tremendous attention from film professionals in the region. Recently their presence have become internationally apparent with Jeon Do-yeon receiving the best actress award at Cannes for her performance in Secret Sunshine and other colleague actors such as Lee Byung-hun, Rain and Jang Dong-gun taking main roles in Hollywood productions G.I. Joe, Ninja Assassin, and The Warrior’s Way….
I love Cloud USAer Patsiii‘s videos. Why? They literally made me jump up and down to the beat in my seat.
Of the many fan cams I’ve watched and thoroughly enjoyed during this tour (and there were some great ones!), hers capture the grand scope of a Rain Best Show. The panoramas and the closer shots somehow convey the magnificence and majesty of the event, right through the screen. You can FEEL how HUGE the event is, and that Rain, his Crew, and the fans are One, and I’ve no idea how she managed to do that. I didn’t even care when things got shaky when she had to jostle for position.
Didn’t care at all.
Congrats on a job well done, Patsiii. And thanks for your fan account! So glad you and DN had a good time. 😀

My Trip to Korea for Rain’s Seoul Concerts
By: Patsiii @the Cloud USA Forum, 9/28/11
Video credit: Patsiii
Regardless of how many confused looks and eye rolls I received when I announced to friends and family that I really wanted to go to see Rain’s last 2 concerts, I purchased my tickets the day they went on sale (7/22) and went forward with my trip plans. My knowledge of Korea amounted to what I had seen in the dramas, so I found a hotel where English was spoken that was close to Olympic Park.

I’ve got good luck.
I’ve demonstrated today that luck is no longer the preserve of ordinary people…kekekekekekeke.
I was just walking by and I noticed there were a lot of buses for filming a scene.
As my curiosity was aroused, I went there.
Rain was right there! kekekekeke..
The crowd was so overwhelmed by his looks, “He has chiseled features! He’s so handsome!”
A guy mumbled, “How could he be wearing the same jacket that I have on…Oh my God, I think I’ll never wear it.”…kekekekekekeke…
I didn’t know what it was, but he was grappling with a board in his hands for a while…kekekekeke..
I tried to zoom in on his face, but my cellphone camera couldn’t give me professional results..
I should have been a woman having a Smart phone…kekekeke..
“If you eat your Wheaties, take your vitamins, and work really hard… you can grow up to be an incredible mega-King-superstar-triple threat like me! Capiche?” 😀 Yeah, I made that up, but can’t you just see Rain imparting that valuable advice on the young set? Yep. Such a cute shot!
As we understand it, this is from where Rain was on set shooting a new CF today. (Go to Cloud Unite’s twitpics for more images.)
GREAT fan cam! Thanks so much for getting the stage and the Crew as well, so that we get a better feel of what the performance actually looked like to the audience. Thumbs up. (We love Rain, but we don’t have to be right up in his grille 24/7 the whole time… this is terrific!)

(Believe it or not, I actually like the Lotte DF stuff. The fantasy one, too. Go figure!)
Until next month, Clouds and fans… be safe, be smart, wear a yellow ribbon, and stay united in Rain. 🙂

Directions to Uijeongbu 306 Reserves Troop
The place is close to Seoul and is easy to get to.
1. By Bus
Typical route is No. 107 (blue bus)
You could take the bus in front of No. 4 Exit of Line 1 Jongno 5 Street Station. Get off at Uijeongbu 306 Reserves Troop Station. No transfer is required and this is the easiest and cheapest means to get there.
Time required: about 1 hour 20 minutes.
2. By Train
Take the No. 1 Line and get off at either Uijeongbu Station or Hoe Ryong Station. Then take a taxi (fare approximately 5000 won)
If you get off at Uijeongbu Station, there is free shuttle bus service at west side of the city square (time required: approximately 20 minutes)
Alternatively:
Take the No. 7 line, get off at Dobong san Station, then take the No. 107 bus and get off at Uijeongbu 306 Reserves Troop.
If you take a taxi there the fare is approximately 10,000 won.
3. By Taxi
It’s about 25km from Seoul proximity by taxi (maximum 4 people in a taxi). From Dongdaemun for example, the taxi fare is approximately 20,000 won (depending on traffic).
Time: from 10.30 am to 2 pm, Tuesday, 11 October
We expect many people to go there so it is advisable to allow ample traveling time for yourself.
For overseas fans, it is easy to get there by taxi. Just inform the driver 306 Reserves Troop (306보충대) which is commonly known.
There are many good restaurants in Uijeongbu. There is an alley famous for찌개 including a delicious 오뎅 restaurant.
Perhaps we could try to sooth our empty hearts with spicy food after seeing off Jihoon ssi….
Oh, I really enjoyed watching this—Rain’s Lotte Duty Free film that fans and shoppers can watch when they visit Lotte’s Star Avenue. It shows behind the scenes of Rain’s most recent Lotte photo shoots, and this is a most excellent fan cam of it.
Love it! 🙂

Adidas officially came on board the Rain train today by tweeting about their 3-in-1 Outdoors campaign with him, which focuses on clothing with a three in one functionality: insulation protection against water, wind, and cold. And it does all of that while maintaining a fashionable look.
Congrats, Rain! And a hearty welcome to you, Adidas, from Rain’s global nation. You chose one heck of a model. 🙂

0:18~0:25
Rain: Thank you for this opportunity to attend such a wonderful event before my entering the army.
0:27~031

Rain: Hello, everyone, I’m glad to meet you. This is Rain.

Asia broadcast September 24. Screen caps by 姫 (Hime).
Yes, this past RAIN The Best Show Seoul concert weekend threw us all for a loop, so much so that we had no time to even think about RAINY DAY, didn’t it? But, of course, we love our RAINY DAY episodes and so a little voice in the back of our heads didn’t let us completely forget it. We’re really glad to finally be watching it now. 🙂
And so… we start off with Rain down in a hole. Literally. A hole in a RAIN The Best Show 2011 Korea tour rehearsal stage, as he watches the JumboTron intro for “I’m Coming.” The intro passes inspection, the Crew comes in, and a casual “I’m Coming” run-through ensues. JiHoon is completely in the creative mode that we all love to watch. He certainly knows how to use those long, fine dancer’s arms of his, even while deep in thought, doesn’t he?
After “Don’t Stop”, the Man is lifted into the air during a “Love Story” fine-tuning. Alas, a poor mic stand pays the price as Hoon unintentionally gives it the ol’ heave-ho. Well, that’s different, isn’t it? Usually he’s so gentle with them, and attentive, and downright seductive. Usually he has every Cloud across creation wishing she were a mic stand… 😉
Wow, our favorite guitar player is tearing “Love Story” up! And check out Mr. I Am The Guitar Police, conducting a very important and impromptu inspection and looking quite sheepish. JiHoon, what are you doing? LOL!
Ah. An instrument switch, and then on to a lounge-like, acoustic “Love Song.” A very special version indeed. ♥
There sure are some serious ab-checks going on. First Rain, and then the Gori-fied one… anybody else gonna give it a go? Gotta make sure The Goods look good for the Clouds, yo.
“My Way”, check. “Rainism”, check. Okay, the Crew is trying to levitate you with spirit fingers, dear, but you’re not cooperating. Heheh.
SECOND MARKER 8:23! Are you kidding me, RAINY DAY? It was barely a second and if you blinked, you missed it, but what an edit! Did you time that on purpose? You almost put my eye out. Wowzer. @_@ Moving on (not that I want to!).
FOR ANYONE WHO HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE RAIN TAKE A QUICK SHOWER: There is a golden moment as Mr. Multi-Tasker not only runs through “Nan” but also uses it to freshen up after a hard day’s perspiring. And I couldn’t care less that his clothes are on. ^________^ *pause* *rewind*
“It’s Raining”, check. “Chajayo”, check. *scream* Chajayo! *scream* JiHoon, you sneaky devil. Thanks for pulling this song out of the archives, dude!
Hmm. Eh… Hongshi? You okay? LOL!
And with Hongshi’s funkier than a monkey dance, we are out! What a cute episode. Please join me next time, Rain fans. 😀
Remember last spring, when Rain and MBLAQ both landed covers on (and nice spreads inside of) Trendy Magazine? Well… it has come to our attention that both of those covers have been included in Yahoo! Taiwan’s Trendy cover poll, where they are asking fans to determine the best Trendy cover.
As we understand it, the poll began on September 22 and ends on October 23. Everything is in Chinese, so we’re not sure how many times you can vote (there is something about choosing three sets of something?) or any of the other particulars, but that shouldn’t stop us. Get in there and try it out, bookmark it and do your thing. Investigate, and if you find anything out, let your sisters know. Perhaps someone who knows Chinese will give us all a hand. 🙂
The paper airplanes were flying like confetti! Big thanks to cutie Carter, one of our favorite fan cammers in the Rainiverse, for shooting this heartwarming video! 😀 110925 Rain The best show in Seoul – “September” paper plane event. (credit: 카터 / Carter / lyes84302 @YT)
