And so it was on the evening of October 26 when Terri :-} met up with Cloud Adriana โฐ [The girl with the red star] in the fair city of Atlanta, Georgia for a bite of dinner and some extremely Rainy conversation.
It wasn’t the first time that Adriana, a flight attendant, had come through Atlanta.ย Indeed, several times this year she has touched down at Hartsfield International Airport, but we had never been able to meet up with her during her very brief stays in town.ย This time, though, when her e-mail came through saying she would be landing in Atlanta on the afternoon of the 26th for an overnighter and asking if it might be possible for us to have dinner together, I was thrilled to be able to tell her that I thought I could make that work.
After a late arrival (A:ย I’m still on the plane!!), my not getting off work quite as early as I thought I would (T:ย I’m just leaving work!ย Make it 5:00 instead?), and then some confusion about exactly which hotel she was really at (T: Are you SURE you’re out front, outside the lobby?ย A:ย Yes! I’m standing right here!ย What kind of car are you driving?ย T:ย I don’t see you!ย A:ย But I’m right here!), we finally managed to meet up.ย LOL.
A short drive down the street took us to a little Italian restaurant I knew of that had a relaxing atmosphere and we settled in for some chow and a chat.ย Like the rest of us Clouds, Adriana had some wonderful stories to tell about how she was introduced to Rain, how she fell in love with him, and how his art changed her lifeโfor the better.ย I was honored to hear it firsthand.ย Some of you may remember one of her personal essays we shared back in March here on the blog: ย https://cloudusa.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/from-rains-clouds-hes-your-friend-forever-dont-forget/.ย If you don’t, then please go back and read it.ย It is a delightful story.
Adri confessed during dinner that she is also a Beauty [B2uty] (a fan of Beast [B2St], for those of you who don’t know) and a genuine lover of K-Pop in general.ย I shared a bit about my own family and my day job, shared some insight on how Cloud USA got started and how it fits in the Rainiverse, and even gave her the scoop on a super special project I am currently working on for Cloud USA behind closed doors.ย (Don’t even bother to try to get it out of her.ย She has already been sworn to secrecy.ย You will all find out about it when it is done.ย So there.)
Sometime during our conversation, I pulled out my cell phone and called Stephe (who had some late-day appointments and couldn’t meet up with us), so that Adriana could talk to her for a bit.ย Stephe was disappointed that she could not be there and really hopes she can make our next Clouds’ night out.ย :-}
Four hours later we were still going strong when we suddenly realized that the restaurant had emptied out and they were about to close.ย After asking our sweet server to take a few quick photos of the two of us, we were out the door and the evening was overโall too soon.ย Our only consolation was that she promised she would be back again as soon as she could.
We are looking forward to it.

CJ Entertainment has unveiled a raft of sales on its two upcoming high-concept action pictures, Soar Into The Sun and The Tower, and K-pop documentary I Am: SM Town Live.
Soar Into The Sun, an aviation war film starring Jung Ji-hoon (aka Rain), has gone to Entertainment One for the UK and Canada, Wild Side for French-speaking territories, Splendid for Germany and Benelux, Encore Films for Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, Flash Forward for Taiwan, M Pictures for Thailand, Movies Now for India, Horizon International for Turkey and Jonon Source for Mongolia.
Set against the backdrop of tensions between North and South Korea, the film features aerial battle scenes with jetfighters and was produced with the assistance of the Korean Air Force which granted access to its air bases and jets. Directed by Kim Dong-won, the film also stars Cho Seong-ha (The Yellow Sea) and Shin Sae-kyung (Hindsight).
Meanwhile, disaster movieย The Towerย has been sold to Entertainment One for the UK, Splendid for Germany and Benelux, Zylo for French-speaking territories, Horizon International for Turkey, Rainbow Entertainment for Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, and Jonon Source for Mongolia.
Directed by Kim Ji-hoon (Sector 7), the film follows the chaos that ensues when two helicopters crash into a luxury apartment building during a Christmas party.
Soar Into The Sunย is being readied for Korean release this autumn, whileย The Towerย will open during the Christmas season.
CJ has also soldย I Am: SM Town Liveย to a raft of Asian territories including Singapore (Golden Village), Taiwan (Avex Taiwan), Indonesia (MT Entertainment), Thailand (M Pictures), Hong Kong (Intercontinental) and Malaysia (First). Due to the growing popularity of K-pop in the US and Europe, CJ is also expecting to close further deals on the documentary โ featuring the roster of leading Korean talent agency SM Entertainment โ during Cannes.

REMINDER: The deadline for paying for your RAIN The Best Show DVD Package was October 26, and RAINY has posted a final PayPal list of people whose payments have been received, on Rain’s official website (omitting the China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan group orders). They began shipping packages out on October 19. If you haven’t already, please check for your name and watch for your goods in the mail. R2B: Return to Base has touched down on tarmacs in South Korea, the U.S. and Canada, and is on its way around the world. It has premiered in Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The latest news is that Taiwan is set for November 23ย AND that it will also be showing at the London Korean Film Festival 2012 on November 5 and November 16, in the United Kingdom!ย Let’s see where else this bird is going to land!

When I took a vacation for the first time since my enlistment, I went home wearing my old-fashioned and ironed uniform. ย After that I’ve been wearing {an} up-to-the-minute uniform, and there is no need to iron it.

Back in June, our lovely Cloud, school teacher, and fashion maven in South Korea, April, a.k.a. the Pinkfashionninja, descended upon Myeongdong on a hunt for Rain and some K-Pop shopping.
What she and friend Heather found there in Seoul was a whole HEAP of Rain, not to mention more K-Pop merchandise than you could shake a stick at. For those of you who haven’t enjoyed this video yet, CLICK “play” and have tremendous fun on this oh-so-cool adventure at the K-Story K-Pop Cafe (and a second Pop store) on Rain’s home turf. 2012 Hope Festival Sharing Sneakers, designed to distribute indigent teenagers sneakers depicting images and messages of peace and sharing, will be held in Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on October 26 (Fri) and 27 (Sat).
During the event, there’ll be a photo exhibition showing teenager-related issues in the world and the event’s footprints, and 1,000 sneakers of Hope donated by celebrities such as singer [Rain], etc. selected by teenagers, will be displayed.
Seoul City, Daesan Cultural Foundation, and the Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchange have annually hosted the event since 2007, and the event has originated from UN’s official ten year plan for the world’s children for nonviolence.

{*Edited to Add: Okay, so I just translated some of the soldiers’ signs out of curiosity… as far as I can tell, most of the phones were flashing stuff like, “Rain, look here” and “I heart Rain”. But now, the stage jumper towards the end has me cracking up and kind of dumbfounded because I could swear his sign says “fantasy pelvis” or “fantastic ass.” I mean yeah, Rain has one of those, but does it really say that? ROFLMAO! ๐ ^@@^}

We don’t yet know if Rain’s summer Korean blockbuster film, R2B: Return to Base, will be coming to the United Kingdom for a limited run.
But we do know that R2B will be screened at this year’s London Korean Film Festival on November 5 at the London Odeon Cinema on Panton Street, and on November 16 at the Bournemouth Odean on Westover Road in Dorset.

The “Black Eagle” title is a really smart move, seeing as the ROK Air Force Black Eagles aerobatic team took several U.K. air shows by storm this past June, won awards there, and got in the news. When festival attendees see “Black Eagle”, they will connect the dots. The cool demonstration team from South Korea โย the team in Rain’s movie โย Rain. As I’ve already said, it’sย imperative that R2B: Return to Base be marketed properly for the particular area it arrives in, for the best chance at success. This was a good call.
The London Korean Film Festival 2012 starts on November 1 and will also travel to Glasgow and Bristol. CJ Entertainment‘s R2B, Masquerade, Deranged, I AM: SMTown, and many other terrific Korean movies will be on the marquee, so if you’re anywhere near the Union Jack, be there!

R2B: Return to Base has touched down on tarmacs in South Korea, the U.S. and Canada, and is on its way around the world. It has premiered in Vietnam and Thailand; now Hong Kongย and Singapore are set for October, and Malaysiaย is set for November. Japan is set for December. The latest news is that Taiwan is set for November 23. Let’s see where else this bird is going to land!

If this article is on the up and up, it certainly is welcome news. Bravo! I am more than ready to get my hands on a copy of R2B. A LEGAL one, preferably on DVD, thanks. (Yes, that is heavy sarcasm you are sensing.)

CJ Entertainment America to channel ancillary through Inception
Inception Media Group has signed a deal to act as the US home video and digital distributor of the CJ Entertainment America pipeline.
Upcoming releases through Inception Media Group will includeย R2B: Return To Base, starring Jung Ji-hoon aka โRainโ andย Masqueradeย starring Byung-hun Lee.
