Greetings, all! Hope everyone who celebrates the 4th of July had a grand ol’ time this past weekend.
As many of you read on The Cloud in South Korea last week, press conferences and promotions for upcoming TV drama Diamond Lover—premiering on 7/22 in China—will commence as soon as next week over there. As we understand it, Cloud support for Rain will be global fan club flower garlands displayed at the press conferences he is scheduled to attend on the 13th and 14th.
So exciting!
We’ve put in an order for two Cloud USA flower garlands to the overseas cloudmaster and Terri is drafting up the message card displays. If you would like to support Rain and help us with our cost, please send your donations to our Paypal account letitrain@cloudusa.org. Be sure to put your name and location in the notes so that we can send a list of participants’ names to Rain and share it on our media blog and social media (unless you’d rather be anonymous, just say the word).
If the amount of donations allows it, we’ll order another garland.
Showing a strong fan presence around the world for Rain will reflect well on him with the events organizer, the Chinese media, and the viewing audience, and we are so down with that!
NOTE: For fans out there who don’t have a Rain fan club in their country that is participating, you are 1) welcome to support Rain through us for this project, our doors are always open no matter where you are, or 2) email the overseas fan coordinator at heidi.shanghai@hotmail.com so that she (hopefully) can put together a multi-country flower garland.

OMG, y’all. I’m so excited!
The odds weren’t good, but we got lucky. A dear friend went to a local store where she lives in the People’s Republic of China and managed to snag us some For Love or Money DVDs!
There was a waiting list and no guarantee. We were like, “If we can get even one, we’ll be happy as pigs in slop. Just do what you can. Purdy pleeze with sugar on top?” It really sucked thinking about not one CloudUSAer or Cloud sister in this country having an actual, legally distributed FLoM DVD from China in their hand. Ugh, so irritating!
When she managed to get five, I pert near fell out.

I’m just guessing, but… Lee Seung Gi just made a comeback with a new album in June, and also just won a 2015 Korean Screen Actors Guild Popularity Award for his role in romantic comedy film Love Forecast, so perhaps that is why he, Rain, Ko Soyoung, and SamGeori Butchers co-owner Noh Hee Young are celebrating. Hi there, Clouds and Rain fans. 🙂
It’s my fault that these accounts are being posted so very late. Life happened—continued illness, a dead computer, a death in the family, Daddy Cloud’s health, etc. I also had to take all of May to prepare my urban fantasy manuscript for submission to one of the Big Three publishers in the US. It is what it is, folks.
I can’t thank Cloud USAer Maria enough (and Japanese Cloud Michiko) for giving such a rich and amazingly detailed account about Rain and of her time at these two events, for letting us know the things Rain has said from his own mouth. Maria, you are a gem and your family is awesome in their support of your support for Rain.
Wanna know if Rain reads the comments on his Instagram? Or what color underwear he was sporting that day? Or the special wishes he granted Clouds in the audience? How important it was for him to make eye contact with every fan?

I am so grateful and thankful for having made so many wonderful friendships because of Rain. Just a few personal notes before I start the fan account.
It was April of 2012 that I came to know of Rain, so, like Rain celebrating his 13th debut, I was also celebrating my 3rd of following his career. Actually for me, the exact date of the fan meeting (4/25/15) was also my wedding anniversary and instead of celebrating it with my husband, I spent the day with great friends and with Rain in Seoul, South Korea. I feel extremely lucky to have a very supportive family that understands this “fandom” of traveling to support Rain and his music and meeting with friends near or far. They look forward to hearing about my adventures and experiences during my travels.
It all started with me just inquiring with my friend Michiko in Japan about the details of the announcement of the fan meeting. By the time she’d explained all the details, I was already convinced that I wanted to experience this and she very kindly helped make another dream come true.
I have always wanted to return to Japan in the spring, so this was the perfect combination.
It was an amazing, week-long, non-stop sightseeing trip from the minute I arrived in Japan up until Friday 4/24, the day we flew to Seoul. I feel very comfortable traveling even if I don’t speak the language. I love the Japanese Cloud sisters I have come to know and be friends with, and the people of Japan have always been so very helpful and friendly if I needed help with directions.

Friday – 4/24/15. I met up with Michiko at Narita Airport in Tokyo on Friday 4/24 at exactly 10 am, as our flight to Seoul was leaving at 12:30 pm or so (only a 3-hour flight compared to the 14+ hours from New York). I’d last seen Michiko over 13 months before and although we stay connected regularly it was so good to finally see her in person again. The tour was very well organized as we had our own Rain tour check-in area.

Show Director productions head honcho Randy Noh is a long-time hyung and has directed many of Rain’s concert tours as well as other top singers’ concerts in South Korea. You can see some of Mr. Noh’s previous posts about Rain in our previous post HERE.

On June 25, many meaningful events have happened. Today is 1) Korean historical pain [The Korean War], 2) the 6th death anniversary of the King of Pop [Michael Jackson], 3) proud #1 of Korea #Worldstar #비 #Rain #JungJiHoon Rain’s birthday.
I recall the memory… While putting together the #Legend of Rainism Tour, Rain was so sad that his birthday coincided with the death of Michael Jackson at that time. In Michael’s memory, Rain gave a great performance mixing #Billie Jean into the intro part of “It’s Raining.”
Rain, eat lots of delicious foods today. Have a wonderful time [birthday].

*Note from Sonya: The Show Director called Rain the “proud No.1 of Korea.” I like it. I also like Michael Jackson, so I was so sad that he passed away then because I had really expected that Rain and his idol “MJ” would meet each other someday, as was Rain’s wish. I recall that Rain said, “There was an opportunity to meet him, but [unfortunately] I couldn’t make it because something had suddenly come up.” /endnote
That makes two of us, Sonya. I’ve always been saddened by the fact that MJ died on Rain’s birthday and that Rain never got to meet the man who inspired him so very much. I’m really glad that Mr. Noh posted these poignant words so that we all could read them.
I’ll always remember Rain’s “Billie Jean” dance break from LOR Saitama in August 2009, two months after we lost Michael. Loved it!

As I understand it, LOVO said this on Weixin.com two days ago: They will release Rain’s CF Making Film if the views of his new 30sec commercial spot on Youku reaches 58888 (looks like the count is heading towards 34,000 as of this posting). I’m sure the Chinese-speaking Clouds are watching it like crazy and making a dent, so let’s all give them some help. After all, if the “making of” film gets released, someone will re-upload it and we’ll get to see it too, ya dig?^^

Hollywood blockbuster San Andreas was definitely on my Must See Movies list, so I could hardly wait for the official posters.
When they finally hit, I did a double take and grinned.
Yes, Rain was an Air Force jet pilot in Korean blockbuster R2B: Return To Base, and Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. The Rock) is a helicopter pilot in his newest film. The two movies are nothing alike, with the exception that both lead characters are constantly flying into danger, I got that. Seoul was set afire by North Korea, L.A. was set afire by earthquake.
I’m just saying that when it comes to the official posters, great minds were thinking alike.
