» You can read KPopLive’s December 29th writeup of this matter HERE. We are still waiting for clarification from one of the large news outlets that we usually trust.
In the meantime… the way we see it, the main points of this thing are:
• JinYoung Park himself hasn’t been signed with his own company (JYPE) since 2006, which is when his artist contract with them expired. He has now begun working again, and so he needs management. Thus, he has signed with J.Tune, which in effect means he is Rain’s and MBLAQ’s fellow artist.
• There is no need to ask What’s going to happen to MBLAQ? as the obvious answer is…nothing. They’ll be doing their thing as usual: releasing albums, doing comeback stages, releasing videos, and working. J.Tune isn’t shutting down, folks. The parent company isn’t closing its doors. The two companies are simply merging. J.Tune will still be there, but just under a different name and under a different Board of Directors. Two powerhouses are coming together.
• Rain is still signed with J.Tune, but J.Tune’s name will be changing. He won’t be working for JYP. He will be working alongside him. In an alliance. A pretty powerful one, we might add.
Pretty cut-and-dry, as far as we’re concerned.
We’re not exactly jumping for joy over this, to be truthful. But we don’t look for anything bad to come of it, either (fingers crossed)… and that’s just our point of view. For now.

Rain cleared of embezzlement charges
Singer and actor Rain has been cleared of charges of embezzlement, according to the Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office on Thursday.
A fabric manufacturing company had filed a lawsuit against Rain and executives of his agency J.Tune Entertainment in April, saying that they had suffered financial losses due to J.Tune’s fashion affiliate J.Tune Creative.
The plaintiff claimed that it invested two billion won in the fashion firm but that Rain and other shareholders of J.Tune Creative embezzled their money by falsely registering the company’s stock assets worth 2.5 billion won and claiming Rain’s modeling fees worth two billion.
However, prosecutors ruled that it found the fabric company’s accusation on J.Tune Creative falsely registering the company’s stock assets as false and that Rain’s modeling fees of 2.2 billion during three years was not excessive.
Meanwhile, prosecutors indicted two officials at J.Tune for embezzling 900 million won of the firm’s money used to acquire a larger stake in the agency.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is considered one of the most successful Korean stars in the entertainment business.
He has lead a popular singing career throughout Asia and has expanded his acting career into Hollywood, appearing in action film “Speed Racer” and martial arts picture “Ninja Assassin” last year.
He had also been the largest shareholder of J.Tune from 2007 until July of this year when he sold off all of his shares in the company and instead recently asked his former trainer and producer Park Jin-young of talenthouse JYP Entertainment to take charge of the agency starting next year.

The usual It’s Raining “Stop!” was punctuated by a REALLY LOUD explosion here, which looks to have scared the CRAP out of Rain to where he completely lost his train of thought. I can see why that isn’t used anymore! Good heavens!

Will a high school full of top K-pop singers and produced by hallyu (Korean wave) star Bae Yong-joon give a boost to the movement?
KBS’ new drama “Dream High” stars Taecyeon and Wooyoung from 2PM, Suzy from Miss A, Eun-jung from T-ara and singer IU — all first-rate young singers popular on the local entertainment scene. Kim Soo-hyun, who played the young Ko Soo in the 2009 drama “Will It Snow for Christmas?” is the only recognizable actor among the six main characters.
Holym, a television production joint-invested by Bae’s agency Keyeast and Park Jin-young’s JYP Entertainment, and CJ Media co-produced the drama and its publication rights in Japan have already been sold.
The highly-anticipated drama portrays the life of high school students of Kirin Art School, a school cultivating future artists and entertainers….
….Park Jin-young, president of JYP Entertainment, directs the music and dance while acting the role of a part-time English teacher at the school.
He produced 10 original tracks, writing six new songs.
“I am trying to make the songs and dance in the drama trendy, portraying current pop culture,” he said.
The top producer is known for his Midas touch in producing g.o.d., Rain, Wonder Girls and 2PM, but in “Dream High,” he is a rookie actor who is nervous about his debut.
“Taecyeon and Jung Ji-hoon (Rain) are my acting teachers and it was hard to accept that I fell behind the people I taught at first,” Park said….

Singer and actor Rain says he will begin his military service next year. Rain was the guest of the “guerrilla date” corner with celebrities on KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment Weekly” Saturday.
Rain said he will enter the Army in the latter part of next year, saying, “The military service period will be a time of rest to me. I don’t feel pressured. Rather, I believe it will serve me well. It will be a time to reflect on myself. My singing and dancing skills will decrease I suppose. I’ll work harder to make it up when I finish the service.”
Rain is known to be an extremely hardworking musician and actor.
In this guerrilla date, Rain met with fans in Seoul’s Hongik University area and gave them concert tickets as a Christmas gift.

•December 30, 2010 • 4 CommentsTo be honest… I was only going to enjoy this delightful video as a fan girl, because “In My Bed” is one of those heart-wrenching songs that we don’t see Rain performing these days (it has been a while), thus my excitement! He was one exhausted puppy during the entire ZEPP/Love Tour (doing the concerts, filming Fugitive, giving interviews, doing photo shoots, nonstop) and though how tired he was was apparent sometimes in his gorgeous voice, that voice was still more than worth falling into, Amen.
“In My Bed” has some amazingly challenging notes. It’s a difficult song to sing, to put it bluntly, which is why only Rain can sing it. My own throat was hurting at the thought of what it was going to do to the inside of his after all this time, though I was thrilled. And then… I was enthralled because Rain blew right through it.
He blew it OUT. OMG. ♥ ♥
I had to post it. Is there anything this man can’t do? *applause, applause!*

Yeah, yeah, I know. Last month I totally went off on Lotte Duty Free and swore never to put their hot messes Star wallpaper up again if they were going to continue being so shoddy and careless concerning their celebs.

Koyote’s Baekga reveals that Rain cried for him in the hospital
Koyote’s rapper Baekga was unfortunately diagnosed with brain tumor around a year ago. Thankfully, his surgery was a success and it finally seems that he has recovered, as he made an appearance on SBS’s Strong Heart.
On this week’s episode, he revealed a heartwarming story about his close friend Rain.
He stated, “I’m close with Rain and while I was ill, he was having a concert in another country. I didn’t call him because I thought he would be worried. After hearing about the news, he visited my house. Rain is a strong and vicious friend, the last time I saw him cry was eight years ago when he was talking about his mother. When I told him that I was sick, he started crying with his mouth shut. At the time, he told me that he would always be with me at the hospital whenever he had no oversea concerts and that my surgery would go well. He really did stay at the hospital everyday, which became a big source of strength for me.
I never thought of getting cancer or a tumor. I considered it as something that would never happen to me, and I was scared. For two weeks, I cried by myself at home and I had no idea how to handle the situation. I went to my parents and tried to be strong about the matter but after seeing their faces, I was the one who ended up crying first.
Even at the moment, I don’t have much of a left brain. The tumor grew past the skull and the scalp so the bone was cut and replaced with things that are not mine. I was left with a huge scar so I couldn’t even look at the mirror. I thought to myself, ‘Why me?’ I thought I lived being kind to others but such an incident brought me down.
But the important thing is the fact that a person like me overcame it, which means everybody out there can do it as well.”
The studio was overwhelmed with emotion, including Baekga himself, who showed some tears.

We remember this heartbreaking time well. » Rain had to be on the Legend of Rainism stage in Japan and Taiwan while BbaekGa was being operated on back in Korea at the end of January.
Terri and I have been friends for sixteen years, and frankly, we don’t know how Rain managed to throw himself into that show the way he did. It had to be pure strength of will, and we admired him for it.
When a friendship will pass any test, hold on to it. Hold on tight.

Rain cried, trying to stop himself from bursting into tears by the news that Baegka had been stricken with a brain tumor
Baegka, one of pop group Coyote’s members, made a surprise appearance on SBS TV’s show program ‘Strong Heart’ aired on the afternoon of the 28th.
Baegka said, “There is one I want to thank the most. It’s Rain who is my best friend.”
Continuing, “Rain was on a concert tour abroad as news came that I had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Yet he called at my home. As you know, he is strong enough not to even raise his eyebrow at most things, but he cried his eyes out, covering his mouth with his hand to stop himself from bursting into tears in hope I would always keep a good heart. I had never seen him crying so hard since he cried a lot 8 years ago when he told me about his passed mother.
Then, Rain told me, ‘I have a sort of feeling that something good will happen to you. I’m sure the surgical operation will result in success.’ His words were great encouragement to me.”

Have I got a special update for you.
Our contact in Korea has just informed us that our Box has made it to J.Tune.
Since Rain’s days are really full right now, with preparing for his Adieu Concert, we don’t know when he will be able to take a break and see any of the gifts he got from any fans this Christmas. Still, we’re just happy that our box is there for him whenever he has time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some Holiday cheer from his U.S. and World Clouds.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this project. It was a lot of work, but lots of fun.
A special thank you to our contacts in China and Korea who made this happen for us. Please send a shout out to them for dealing with customs, handling the package, and coordinating the delivery for us. We could NOT have done this without them.

One little note of clarification: In English, when you say something is going to “bomb,” that means it is going to suck big time, that it’s going to be really BAD. I don’t think that’s what Rain meant. When you want to say something is going to be really great, then you say it’s going to “be the bomb.” That is why I added the words “be the” to the translation. Just a quick little English slang lesson for you there.

It’s just that, I’d like to tell you about my working hand in glove with JYP, a bunch of news relating to this issue has recently been released. I’m not to be affiliated with ‘JYP Entertainment’ (Rain’s former agent), but to be just strategically entering into an alliance with the company where the alliance between the two will generate a significant synergy effect, from just a partner.
Also, I’m just attached to ‘J.Tune Entertainment’ (Rain’s current agent), I don’t have any share in the company. Just a reminder, I can’t exercise my right in the company. So I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding.
The reason why I’ve come to work hand in glove with JYP after consulting with him on that matter, is that I think I can show my new different looks and in terms of participating with him in my first and end, it would be meaningful for us to be with each other during the period before my joining the army, as I met JYP 10 years ago and began working with him under the name, Bi (Rain)
I think I’ve devoted full time to pursuing my goal of becoming known as Bi in my 20s over the past decade.
I’d like to thank those of you who have loved me.
Soon, the year 2011 will dawn. I’m all aflutter in anticipation of another new world which will open at the beginning of my 30s. And, I’m looking forward to how I can do much better for you, as JYP and I have decided to work together in a long time.

Holy Be-Jeeeeebus. *speechless* *almost*
I about fell on my butt watching the first moments of this fan cam, where Rain joined JYP on stage at the JYP Nation Teamplay concert on Christmas Eve. Why?
Because one of the earliest and most precious pieces of footage I’ve ever seen of our Man was well before JiHoon was Rain, well before he debuted as a singer, waaaaay back in 2001 when he was a JYP backup dancer during this very song at the Korean pop awards. When he stood out as really special in a crowd of dancers during a JYP performance, but no one realized they were watching a future mega-icon.
I cannot imagine what emotions coursed through Rain on Christmas Eve as he took that stage with JYP and that song began to play again, after so many years. AND he was doing some of that original dance choreography. AND singing the song for JYP. Wow. Wow.
(Yes, I’m excited about the rest of the fan cam, with Rain and 2PM, too. LOL But OMG. I got chills from this.)

•December 30, 2010 • 8 CommentsFirst it was this past summer’s ZEPP tour in Japan. Media: “Rain’s last concert before he goes in the military!” (We didn’t buy that because RAIN didn’t say it) Everybody re-posts it.
Then it was the Intensity show in Manila in the fall. Media: “Rain’s last concert before he goes in the military! Hurry!” (We didn’t buy that because RAIN didn’t say it) Everybody re-posts it.
And then recently, his upcoming Goodbye 2010/Hello 2011 New Year’s Eve show on the 31st near midnight… (a HUGE hint as to what the event is really for, ya think) Media: “Rain’s LAST concert before going in the military! He’s leaving and saying goodbye! Adieu!” Everybody re-posts that. Fans are passing out all over the place because he’s supposedly saying goodbye for two years. (We didn’t buy that because RAIN didn’t say it… do you see a pattern here? Do you?)
*sigh* Seriously.
And now he’s just announced OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH that he’s planning a world tour before going into the military. Gee—none of those were his “last concert” like everyone but him claimed they were. Not only that, he had already alluded to planning another world concert tour before going into the military while in Japan back in JULY. While on stage. So why would anyone think any of these would be his last concert? Huh?
On top of that, no one knew when he would be leaving for the military to begin with. We had NO DATE. So how is the media going to know when his last concert is, anyway, much less report it?
How about everyone let RAIN tell us when his last concert is? Okay?
What’s so hard about that?
