Singer Rain featured in ‘Sands Style’ Singapore
Singer Rain, who came to Singapore for his THE BEST ASIA TOUR in May 2011, was featured in the Marina Bay Sands’ own magazine Sands’ Style for their fall-autumn issue. Titled ‘Rain Storms The House – South Korean pop star RAIN delights his fans – and takes in all Singapore has to offer’ gives a short insight of his short interview with the team about Singapore and his stay at the grand hotel that is now the tourist icon of Singapore.
“I’m really impressed with the grandiose new Marina Bay Sands development and the speed of progress that has been made. Singapore is a beautiful city, and I am looking forward to come back here in the future,” Rain commented.

Behind the scenes, Rain goes to the Sockcho beach, having a thrill
Singer Rain enjoyed his fleeting summer vacation.
Rain put a picture on his Twitter on the 21st, posting a comment, “While the movie was being filmed on location near Sockcho (a seaside region), I could not resist the temptation to the beach (in the region) and fell for the temptation for a while. Those remaining on the set wouldn’t know how much it was very thrilling..Puhahaha.”
In the picture, Rain is standing with the Sockcho beach as the backdrop, covering his head with a towel, wearing sunglasses, making a funny-cute expression, and holding up the V sign ..
Following, he put another picture on his Twitter, posting again, “Keke..I think I can go back to my high school days again^^ Wahoo..hallelujah~~~~”
In the picture, he is standing in a pose which is enough to outshine professional models, leaning against a wall a banner saying “Guest House” hanging over.
In particular, his gorgeous six-packs on his skin tanned brown by the sun only with a pair of swimming trunks on, attracts attention.
Netizens responded to the post, “There’s no way his body could have been unseen~” “I ought to have been there.” “Cute Rain !” ” Is he Baegka who stands before Rain? ” “No one didn’t recognize Rain? Rain Attends MBLAQ’s ‘MEN IN MBLAQ’ concert despite tight schedule
On August 20th, MBLAQ kicked off their first ever concert, ‘MEN IN MBLAQ’, to the cheers of 7,000 fans and their one and only mentor, Rain.
Despite being in the midst of preparations for his movie and his own nationwide tour, Rain made sure to take time away from his busy schedule to attend MBLAQ’s concert. When asked how he felt, he replied, “I’m nervous for them, but I feel great.”
Rain was reported to have sat in the audience and monitored the boys, making comments to staff like, “The piano sounds a bit quiet”, when Seungho was playing the piano; “He raised the atmosphere well”, when Mir was DJ-ing; and “Isn’t the dance a bit difficult?” when the members were teaching the audience the steps to their dance.
Unlike other idol concerts, MBLAQ cut down on the commenting and video displays by instead opting to perform as much of their album’s songs as possible. G.O. performed his ballad, “Even In My Dreams“, while Seungho showed off his amazing piano skills. Mir transformed into a DJ to amplify the atmosphere while Lee Joon performed a sexy dance with a female dancer.
The crowd cheered the boys on for the entire two hours. One Japanese fan named Yukari said, “I know that MBLAQ placed first on the Oricon chart with their Japanese debut single, ‘Your Luv’. They’re definitely a charming group. I love G.O.’s smooth voice and Thunder’s baby smile.”
At the end of the concert, Rain commented, “The boys pulled off the concert as much as they’ve been preparing.”
MBLAQ will be heading overseas for their Asian tour after their Seoul concert.

Talk about fine, FINE form here. It was easy to see just how special a dancer Rain was/is. To think, fans, entertainers, and folks across Korea still refer to his tango with Lee HyoRi at the 2nd Korea Movie Awards (aired on MBC in November 2003), to this day.

BbaekGa, BbaekGa, BbaekGa! At times you are as hilarious as your best buddy, dude! 😀 (And that’s not easy because Rain is such a ham and a half, geez LOL)
The truth of it is, though… you are MORE than just Rain’s friend to us. You always have been.
Seeing you come back this past week, with Koyote, is such a sweet, sweet victory in light of the very real dangers you faced the past two years. We knew that the military would only have you for so long, so that wasn’t bad, but the meningioma diagnosis was a whole other ballgame and it scared us. Really scared us. We, Rain, your family and friends and the world were faced with the possibility of losing you, as serious as it was. And when you survived the surgery, by the grace of God, it was then a question of your quality of life and we could only pray for the best.
When you began working again as a photographer, and so quickly, we applauded you.
When you took the ZEPP stage with Rain and the Crew in Japan and actually danced full out again, we cried for joy.
Now here you are, with your band mates, coming back as an artist with your handsome self, and our hearts are bursting. I kid you not.
Dearest BbaekGa, congratulations on taking the lemons that Life handed you and making the sweetest lemonade out of them. We look forward to seeing more of what you have to offer as time goes on. We’re so excited. Do well!

Anchor Beer picks Rain as brand ambassador
SINGAPORE – Anchor Beer has appointed Alchemy Partnership as the creative agency for its latest regional campaign, with Korean celebrity Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) as brand ambassador.
Rain, a music icon who has also ventured in to film with parts in the movies Speed Racer, and Ninja Assassin, was voted by Time Magazine readers as the most influential of 2011. The campaign will be run in Cambodia and China.
Venus Teoh, senior marketing manager of Asia Pacific Breweries Limited group commercial, said the company was excited with the campaign, and was impressed with Rain’s energy and enthusiasm shown in the commercial produced for Anchor Beer.
“The campaign featuring Rain will be launched during the 2011 summer season in China and Cambodia with the aim to deliver a new level of consumer engagement,” she added.
Ceres Chung, head of art at Alchemy, and Caroline Chua, senior writer at Alchemy, conceptualised the spot with the idea of a drop of Anchor Beer turning into a giant pinball, which then shoots across the super bright night-lights of a city, with Rain in quick pursuit.
Alvin Wong Twei, executive partner at Alchemy, meanwhile said, “We wanted a top team on this, so we assembled a squad with the likes of Sydney’s Emerald City Design to work its production magic together with director Chris Godfrey, who has worked on Hollywood films like Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge, The Thin Red Line, and Australia. Also roped into the production was L.A. based photographer, Zhang Jingna.”

Rain’s “Busan Woman” is number one on all the music charts
Singer Rain’s ‘Busan Woman’ was number one on all the major music charts such as Mnet, Soribada, Bucks and more right after its release on the 16th.
This song, both the words and the music of which were written by Rain, was going to be included in his next album, but he’s decided to release it in advance as a gift for his fans before his military service after changing certain parts of the song.
The song was widely accepted by a lot of fans saying “I’ve fallen madly in love with his sweet voice. The more I listen to the music, the fonder I become of it. etc” when it was released for the first time at his concert in Busan on the 13th, followed by the number one on all the charts immediately after the formal release.
Rain plans to change certain parts of the song, focusing on the name of each destination region. He’ll be touring to promote his nationwide concert in Daegu (8/27) and then in Jeju(9/3), Gwangju (9/17), Daejeon (9/18) and Seoul (9/24-25).

SB Ideal Type World Cup: Round 3
Things got a little crazy in the last round. It was a tight race between Changmin (DBSK) and TOP (Big Bang) and some fangirl nerves were frazzled, and eventually, Jay‘s fans got a fair bit of play. After much enthusiasm, the winner of the second round of Seoulbeats’ Ideal Type World Cup is…[drumrolls]…

Sitting pretty at number 2 is Jay Park, TOP at 3rd, Taec at 4th, Joon at 5th, and Heechul in 6th.
I must say, I’m very surprised at Heechul’s standing. I was under the impression that he had a relatively large fanbase internationally, despite being a member of such a large group, but maybe I was wrong. Guess I shouldn’t underestimate the way Cassies and VIPs mobilize.
This week, we bring you a few other faces. Who will it be this time?

A nice write-up! But it does need a correction, sorry.
Four days before the tour began, Rain released “Busan Woman,” a self-composed sweet mid-tempo ballad… Nope. He sang the song for the first time on the night the tour began, Saturday the 13th at the Busan BEXCO show. And then “Busan Woman” was officially released to the public on August 16, three days after the start of the tour.

Rain Kicks off his last tour with Busan women and… Jang GeunSuk?!
On August 13 and 14, Korea’s favorite ninja assassin Rain held the first concerts of his final concert tour before his military enlistment at the end of this year.
Titled The Best Show, Rain promised Clouds (his fans) that it would in fact, be his best show yet, as an extravagant going-away present to thank them for all the love.
Four days before the tour began, Rain released “Busan Woman,” a self-composed sweet mid-tempo ballad off his upcoming album. [ NOTE: “Busan Woman” was officially released to the public on August 16, three days after the start of the tour. — Stephe, Cloud USA ^@@^]
According to Sports Chosun, the digital single hit #1 on the real-time music charts including Dosirak, Soribada, and Bugs immediately upon its release.
Fans at the August 14 concert in Busan were given an extra treat, as fellow actor/singer/Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk was reported to have made an unplanned appearance onstage and danced with Rain for the encore performance (The two both starred in the SBS youth sitcom Orange back in 2002).
Rain plans to change the title and lyrics of “Busan Woman” to fit each city stop he makes on the rest of his tour, serenading Korea’s women with each performance.
J.Tune Entertainment has put up both the music video — a compilation of Rain’s past Asia concerts — and the live performance clip from the recent Busan concert.
The remaining concert schedule for The Best Show is as follows:

September 3 — Jeju
September 17 — Gwangju
September 18 — Daejeon
September 24, 25 — Seoul

Wow. We start off, Rain fans, where we left off—back in the thick of things on the stage at BEST Macao, and Rain is changing up the “Love Song” notes that we’re used to hearing into something truly sexy. Not bad for only :41 seconds in. It’s a bit early in the game for me to be swooning, so ease up a bit, JiHoon honey. Heh. (Oops, golden ab tease! LOL)
Okay, what kind of sly@ss look was that at minute marker 2:18? What the heck was he up to there, aided by an interpreter, I might add? Gawd, there’s no telling!
Towel time! But he only has to wipe down for a second because his MENtholatum Icy Charcoal Face Wash and Water Tank Lotion is keeping this mega-icon oh-so-fresh-and-so-clean, remember? *expecting a check in the mail for giving MENtholatum OcHyPo products a quick plug*
*not holding my breath*
Slowly the audience falls into “Nan”, and as usual I am mesmerized by the lovely back flap of the Man’s MCM trousers—that is, until he rips his wifebeater and the water starts flowing. I tell you, if one song has served Rain well for many years, it’s “Nan.” The mileage he’s gotten out of it is incredible, and I’m pretty sure he can still get more. If you ever get tired of watching a beautiful sight like momzzang Rain in the rain crying his heart out, well… you might as well be dead. That’s my buck-fifty. (That goes for the ceremonial donning of the Rainism jacket, too. “Watch this…” indeed! Just try to pry my eyes off of this, darling.)
A tip, dear RAINY DAY production crew: We know this is only a 12-minute show and that, when it comes to concerts especially, we’re only going to get partial songs, but for pete’s sake, you didn’t have to jam “Rainism”, “It’s Raining”, “Na”, “Bad Guy”, and “Instead of Saying Goodbye” into a barely 4-minute span. All of that quick jumping around in the footage and stopping and starting makes the editing too herky-jerky to enjoy. Just pick a couple of songs, spread those out better, and don’t worry about the rest. We already know what songs were in the show anyway.
Ahhhh, here comes the icing on the cake, a little bit of Jump-Jumping from a back-of-the-stage point of view! And right here is where I fall out laughing because if I thought Rain losing his ever-loving mind was hilarious from the front, it’s even more hilarious from the side. SungTak is about to bust a gut, and Gori just eggs Rain on as he hits the ground and goes to town. LMAO!
After a final smile and bow to the audience, Rain heads on off to his dressing room with his Thug self, and probably proceeded to happily pass out. I know that’s what I would have done after all that hard work! 🙂
And we are out for this week, folks, after a job well done in Macao by the Man and the Men and Women behind the Man.
I wonder where we’ll be next week? Hmm, any guesses?
