10/22. Rain’s scenes for his new Chinese TV drama Endless August, which he started filming the first week in July, are done, done, done! As I understand it, another couple of weeks or less is needed for the remainder of the filming.

A gentleman connected with the drama posted this cast and crew “farewell, Rain” image below ↓ and said something about Rain brother, achievement, another drama coming to an end, and time to refuel. What: The MBC Top 10 Singers Awards for 2003 (MBC_가요대제전/ MBC Gayo Daejejeon). Rain was presented with one of the awards and performed a special stage.

Where: Jangchung Arena, Jung District, Seoul

When: December 31, 2003

How many times it made me want to shout: 13

1)  Good lord. With this performance, I got excited just seeing it rain on the gold 비! ahahaha~

2)  The first time I saw this was a long time ago, when I was still sort of wet behind the ears when it came to Rain’s “body parts” (hahaha~), so when HE slid out of the bed seconds after the alarm went off, I was stunned that I’d been looking at HIS hand on that clock. I had never seen such beautiful hands on a man in all my life! That still holds true today. No man on this earth has hands like Rain’s. You will always know him by those gorgeous, tapered fingers. It is what it is, folks. (Is it me, or does that clock sound like Scottish bagpipes? LOL)

As I understand it, Ming Zhuang Cosmetics (名庄, “Chateau”, also known as MZ) was founded in Beijing in 2015 by a renowned (and beautiful) artist/entrepreneur and brings high-tech research and pure, plant-based extracts to the skincare market in China. And now, they have a model and brand ambassador whose amazing skin sells — Rain. 🙂 It’s a new company, but powerhouses like Hunan Satellite TV are heavily invested in it and Chairwoman Tian Yuan, so that’s saying something! **ETA 10/15/2016: Rain’s Vancouver filming has been canceled due to changes in the China production schedules.

The Endless August filming crew’s schedules have changed and they can’t go to Vancouver on the specified dates, which means Rain’s trip is canceled as well as of this update. (R.A.I.N. Company did warn us all about something like this…) There is no word yet on whether the Canada shoot will be rescheduled or not, but R.A.I.N. Company will keep us all up to speed, so please stay tuned. Thanks, all. *totally bummed out* 😦 ^@@^

Well, TEQ‘s chief exec Leanne Coddington is reporting that all of their efforts yielded much fruit. In other words, the number of South Korean tourists to their shores increased and is still increasing, thanks in large part to the Q-Pop campaign. And she’s considering doing a follow-up. Way to go, Rain!

Sunshine State counts on Rain to attract Korean tourists

Queensland may market itself as the “Sunshine State”, but it is counting on Rain to attract Korean visitors.

And, according to Tourism and Events Queensland’s annual report, which was tabled in State Parliament last week, the “Q-pop” campaign yielded extraordinary results.

“Results show almost 20,000 travel bookings were made through 16 trade partners since the campaign commenced, largely a direct result of the Q-pop campaign and the complementary in-market activity of Korean Airlines and Tourism Australia,” the report says.

The Q-pop campaign saw Korean pop star Rain visit Brisbane and record the film clip for his song, Marilyn Monroe, at city landmarks…

The 2000s introduced a number of idol groups, some of which today are seen as veterans who have fans all around the world. Girls’ Generation and T-ARA had fans fly in from across Asia. The stadium erupted when Girls’ Generation sang “Gee” and T-ara put on “So Crazy.” The word “hallyu,” or the worldwide spread of K-pop culture, became everyday vocabulary in the entertainment news section.

In a recorded video presentation, K-pop singer and Hollywood actor Rain referred to the 2000s as the blossoming era of multi-entertainment idol groups, which can sing, dance and act.

“That’s the time when we told ourselves that we represent Korea,” Rain reminisced.

Rain’s CJ One card campaign rolled out through November and December of 2010, and showcased many of his projects — K-drama The Fugitive: Plan B, his Vol. 5 Rainism album comeback, and others from throughout his successful career. After all, the premise was “Expand Your Life.” Gosh, he was so hot, we were all whistling Dixie, baby. My goodness!

I bring you this news with a great sadness, but with lots of hope. (For those of you who are already aware, it’s an update.)

On Wednesday morning, Terri’s mom collapsed at home with what at first appeared to be a stroke, and was airlifted to a hospital stroke center. It was there that doctors discovered it was not a stroke. An aneurysm had burst in Ms. Betty’s brain.

It’s been touch-and-go, but Ms. Betty did well during her emergency surgery and we’ve all waited the past few days for her to wake up.

She began waking yesterday, little by little, thank the heavens.

Things are still very touchy in the ICU, but Terri and Terri’s dad and family are with her, and she’s a fighter.

Ms. Betty is a kind, gracious lady who has always treated me like a second daughter. There are many people who need for her nourishing presence to continue in their lives.

How many times it made me want to shout: 5

1)  Hey, that’s no surprise at all — Rain being presented with a statuette. It is said that when It’s Raining hit, people stopped thinking of him as JYP’s dancer who sings and started thinking of him as an authentic star in his own right. 🙂

2)  Love the 3rd album intro to his performance! Tractor trailer doors swing open… paparazzi start snapping away on their cameras.

When Rain tweeted this image ↓ ↓ to us all on August 7, 2011… Clouds and fans alike were intrigued! We loved the look of it and wondered what possible new project he was giving us a hint about with this “1995 fashion.” ^@@^

It wasn’t until 2 months later in the second half of October, just after he’d enlisted in the military, that Adidas started YouTubing and tweeting up a storm and Rain’s “Rule The Winter, Own The Street, Bring The Heat” campaign rolled out and lasted into the spring of 2012. His dancers were also involved (YAY!) and top Korean stars 2NE1 and Yoo Seung Ho, plus some of Korea’s national athletes, professional dancers, and artists. Awesome! It took away a teeny bit of the initial sting of him leaving to be a soldier for 21 long months. ㅜ.ㅜ ^@@^
