My dear fans!

This is Jung Ji Hoon who plays the character, “Lieutenant Jung Tae Hoon” in movie R2B : Return To Base. R2B : Return To Base, a long-awaited movie, will finally arrive in theaters on August 15.

It seems like just yesterday that I was filming the movie while going through all kinds of hardships at an air base, at the Air Force Academy, etc. even on hot summer days for one year and four months, so I find it hard to believe that it is already coming out. I do have a few worries about how the film will be received [rated as in box office numbers and accolades], but I believe our efforts will be rewarded.

The film has been achieved with the blood, sweat, and tears of co-stars including me, director, crew staffs, etc. We’ve done our best to make the film better, so please just enjoy it. I’d like to chat with them about the film while promoting it, but I am sorry I can’t be with them in person because of my military service. ㅠㅠ But I think my co-stars will sub for me.

Please give R2B : Return To Base, which is due for release on August 15, your interest and support. I’m sorry that I’m not able to be with our director, my co-stars, etc.

Dear director, when the movie is released, I’ll buy a ticket and watch it.

Dear ‘Joon Sangy’ hyung (Yu JoonSang), you are popular these days! I think you’ve made some money, so please treat me to something special~

Dear ‘Sung Soo’ hyung (Kim SungSoo), I heard you said in an interview that I haven’t adjusted in the army. But I’m good at acclimating myself to circumstances, as I’m thinking of continuing to serve the army! 😉

Dear ‘Se Kyung’ (Shin SeKyung), you must be having a hard time promoting the film during my absence. I’m just so very, very sorry. I’ll buy you delicious food later.

Rain writes a fun hand-written letter to his ‘R2B’ co-stars

Jung Ji Hoon a.k.a Rain recently wrote a hand-written letter, joking about how he is thinking about remaining in the military.

On July 31st, a special event was held in Gangnam for the upcoming movie, ‘R2B: Return to Base‘. Singer Rain who plays a role in the movie could not attend the event, as he is currently serving in the Korean military.

Because he could not be there with his fellow co-stars, Rain sent them a hand-written letter instead. In it, he expressed his gratitude towards the fans who gathered that day, and made everyone laugh with his personal messages to his co-stars.

He wrote to Lee Hana, “My cute friend Hana. Are you still very serious? You should stop that.” He evoked laughs by adding, “Oh, by the way, I’m not interested in you.”

On the flip side, Rain had hilariously written to Lee Jong Suk, “I think I like you,” displaying his goofy side.

The artist also had a message for Kim Sung Soo. “I heard you said in an interview that I was no good at being in the military,” he began. “I’ve actually adapted so well, I’m wondering if I should just continue to do this.”

Meanwhile, action blockbuster ‘R2B’ follows the story of Taehoon (Rain), the youngest pilot of the special acrobatic air force team Black Eagle. He is transferred to the 21st Fighter Wing, then attacks enemy aircrafts that appear in the skies of Youido. The film also stars Yoon Joo Sang, Shin Sae Kyung, Kim Sung Soo, Lee Hana, Lee Jong Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, and more.

The movie premieres on August 15th.

SONG OF THE WEEK: “Only You”, Track 3 on Rain’s Vol. 5 album Rainism (2008). Enjoy this December 2008 Inkigayo performance of the song, when “Rainism” was still fresh and Rain was still Raizo-thin. They had to take a couple of lines out, probably due to time constraints, but nevertheless it is still a gorgeous song made oh so special by his charm.

Well, you’re doing GOOD, Clouds. REAL good.

This morning, I discovered the following update on The Cloud, for the R2B VIP premiere ticket donation project we announced and endorsed on the July 21:

The list at the bottom of the post on The Cloud, which is in Korean, is a list of the current beneficiaries of the project and a count of the number of tickets that are being reserved for each group of children. Below is a translation of that list in English.

Angel ‘s Haven: 30 tickets
Gwonbyeonhwasanim (disabled children): 87 tickets
Catholics Nationwide Study Room: 35 tickets
Children in Yongsan-gu (poverty stricken children): 328 children
Haesimwon: 20 tickets

Yes, thanks to your generosity, Clouds, 500 teenagers, who may not otherwise have had the chance, will not only be able to watch R2B: Return to Base, but will also be able to be a part of Rain’s official fan club’s VIP premiere event.

For that we thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.

Like Heidi said in her post on The Cloud, there are still many more teenagers who would love to see the movie, but can’t afford to. So, if you have some pocket change lying around, kindly throw it their way, would ya? One ticket costs $9.00. Nine measly bucks. Skipping that Starbucks coffee for a few days, or eating at home one night a week instead of eating out, is all it would take to buy one child a ticket. Really, is $9.00 too much of a sacrifice to make if it will put a big smile on a child’s face?

Again, Cloud USA thanks you for your overwhelming generosity. As always, we are warmed by your kindness, awed by your grace and humbled by your spirit.
