The Republic of Korea Air Force has no problem whatsoever with dabbling in the affairs of civilian entertainment, not when it’s a Golden Opportunity to make the military look good. Good for them! The gist of their tweet is about the R2B cast being introduced to the rigorous requirements of real pilots, and Rain succeeding in his 6G-9G challenge. And they share the gravity test video (that they participated in and that everyone saw earlier today) that is on Naver’s R2B clips page.

Rain is First to Pass Both 6G and 9G (G-Force) Training Tests
The production crew of the upcoming fighter jet movieR2B: Return to Base has revealed Rain’s astounding training video.
As previously reported, Rain passed the 6G and 9G G-Force tests while training with the Korean Air Force for the film.
As fellow co-star Kim Sung Soo explains, real jet pilot trainees must successfully pass 6G without fainting in training to become real pilots. In his first-ever attempt, Rain passed the 6G without issue.
However, it didn’t end there as Rain insisted that he wanted to give 9G a shot. He proceeded to do so right away and successfully passed 9G without fainting.
Only 1 percent of jet pilots have managed to successfully withstand 9G and additionally, according to Korea’s Air Force, Rain was the first person to have successfully undergone both 6G and 9G, one after the other, consecutively.
R2B: Return to Base will premiere on August 15 in Korea.

Soldiers, cast, and crew were simply incredulous when our superhero powered back up after 6-Gs and made it all the way to 9. (There were articles circulating earlier in the month about how some of the capillaries in his legs suffered aftereffects, which probably does happen to soldiers and pilots alike who push past their limits.) Thumbs up to his cast mates for making it as far as they did! No way could I have even come close to any of them.
My fingers were digging into the arms of my office chair the whole time I watched this clip. It’s unbelievable that we’re even getting to watch something this private and so special. Just… wow.

Why is this so awesome, you ask? Well, for several reasons.
Firstly, as I understand it, the Black Eagles have only re-formed and been flying again for a few years, and they flew so well that they came home with several prestigious awards. And secondly, by watching this, you get a terrific glimpse into the life of ROK Army PFC Jung JiHoon/Rain’s fictional R2B: Return to Base movie character “Lt. Jung TaeHoon”, who is a Black Eagle pilot (until his kuu-rrazy stunt gets him busted back to combat duty, that is). This is a smidgeon of what TaeHoon experiences daily in his exciting fictional life. Cool!
Thumbs up to the ROKAF for sharing their video. And thumbs up to the Black Eagles for a great first showing on the international airshow scene this year. I’m calling the military base I live next too right away and requesting that, for our next air show, the Black Eagles be invited from South Korea.
Seeing them and our Blue Angels or our Thunderbirds in the same show would be epic.

As you recall, last time, the guys did both of the Speeding shows and the Yeosu appearance that weekend and were being shuttled back and forth all that exhausting distance like madmen. Rain, KCM and Untouchable to Perform at Special K-Pop Concert at the Yeosu Expo
The current K-Pop army stars, Rain, KCM and Untouchable are coming on stage for a special performance.
Details of the Defense Media Agency’s second K-Pop special by Yeosu Expo and KTV were recently announced. The special concert will take place on July 28 from 8 p.m. (KST) for 80 minutes at the Yeosu Expo Special Stage.
The special concert is an encore concert of the first K-Pop concert held on June 16 and will have Rain, KCM, Untouchable and all of the Defense Media Agency’s stars coming on stage.
A Yeosu Expo staff member said, “To increase attention, both domestically and abroad, on the Yeosu Expo, we decided to hold a K-Pop festival. The Defense Media Agency opened with its special on the first night and the results were much better than what we had anticipated so we are naturally in anticipation of the results of the upcoming second performance with Rain, KCM and the other stars.”
The performance on this night will be recorded and will air on August 4 on KTB.

Dear World Clouds and global Rain fans, it’s so important to support JiHoon and the R2B: Return to Base premiere. If the ROK military itself wasn’t directly involved in backing and participating in the film, we would understand Rain not being scheduled to do even a small promo appearance by them. As it is, we see such a situation as plain silly. (They even used the Black Eagles, for pete’s sake. O__o) But he’s a good soldier, and is acting accordingly.
Clouds in Asia are already gearing up for the R2B pre-premiere day on August 14. R2B Return to Base will hold a VIP premiere in Seoul on 14 August. The official Cloud will organize a global viewing of the movie for world Rain fans on that day. Please refer to the following notice for details:
We hope supporters of Rain from all over the world could gather together on 14 August to cheer for Rain. We believe that’s what he hopes his world clouds will do. However we also understand that due to various circumstances, many overseas fans will not be able to join this premiere in person.
For those overseas fans who are not able to be in Seoul, perhaps you could still participate by donating movie tickets, so that we could invite some less fortunate youngsters or students to watch the movie on your behalf. This is a meaningful event to show Rain the love and support of his world wide fans.
Ticket donation could be individual, group, or fan club based. We will sort out the donors by countries, and will prepare a full list and will pass this to Rainy Entertainment to be delivered to Rain. Veteran Korean clouds will help contact youth organizations or schools.
Raincloudhk Hong Kong, BiwithRain Taiwan and RainVietnam FC Vietnam will help collect donations from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam fans. Donors in these countries can donate in local currencies. Well, the EXPO did say, after their first appearance, that there would be a repeat. So here you go.
As we understand it, this DEMA/Yeosu/K-TV collaboration will be on Saturday, July 8 at 8 PM. Let’s hope things go smoother (and safer) for the concert-goers AND a lot better stage-wise for Rain, KCM, and the others this time. (How about getting their mics and sound equipment working right, folks, so they can give their all? Okay?) ^@@^

Hi, I’m a 8th term Cloud executive member.
It is said a press and VIP preview of movie R2B: Return To Base will be held at Yongsan CGV theater in the late afternoon on August 14. An R2B Premiere Day event, one day before the release of the movie, is being attempted domestically for the first time, and the movie could be subtitled in 4 foreign languages in accordance with the Cloud side’s request on the day.
R2B Premiere Day will be held only once due to overseas licenses. And Rainy Entertainment will post a video showing Rain’s fans commenting about the movie or cheering for him on YouTube. The video and pictures showing fans cheering for him will be sent to him later, which will be great encouragement to him.
I am to inform you that the number of applicants (the pre-headcount) was approximately 404 last time. If possible, we’d like to get together and watch the movie at a rental theater on the Premiere Day (August 14th).
*We are taking applications for participation*
1) When: at 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 p, and 8:00 pm (tentative) on August 14th
2) How to apply for participation: the number of applications-the time you want. Example) 2:00 pm – 3 persons / 4:00 pm – 0 person / 6:00 m -1 person
4) Time limit for application: 7/18 (Wed.) through 7/22 (Sun) at midnight.
Cloud fan club membership members and nonmembers are asked to apply for participation by posting comments below and by email, each. In particular, when overseas fans apply for participation, they are asked to additionally post the languages they want below.
Example) 2:00 pm – 3 persons (English) / 4:00 pm -0 person (Chinese) / 6:00 pm -1 person (Japanese)
