Like we said back in May, when the Korean Media and the netizens were all running on stupid, maybe he isn’t in trouble with the military because HE HASN’T SIGNED ANYTHING YET and simply gave Cube a gentlemen’s agreement/handshake. *ahem* Anyone with half a brain could figure out that he wasn’t going to actually sign until AFTER he was out of the military. So. Now, you can all use those old headlines RAIN SIGNS CONTRACT WITH CUBE and you’ll be telling the truth this time.
Congrats to Rain and Cube DC. We’re looking forward to what the future holds! ^@@^

•September 15, 2013 • Leave a Comment— Written and compiled by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^
Our Cloud USA YouTube moderator Naoko (a,k.a. harudoful), who lives in Japan, came upon some cool Rain stuff while visiting a friend in Nagoya this weekend.
The name of this ramen restaurant is Chomoran Men, and Rain ate there during the Nagoya stop (July 1 & 2, 2010) of his Rain Loves Japan ZEPP summer tour and left his autograph. Apparently, he made a doggone good impression, seeing as the shop’s management still remember exactly where he sat and pointed it out to Naoko. 🙂
For anyone in the vicinity who’d like to try the food there, here is the shop location courtesy of Naoko.
Shop Name: Chomoran MenAddress: 3-15-10 Nishiki Naka-ku Nagoya city, Aichi prefecture

Naoko also sent us some pictures from closer to home. This restaurant, the Madan Tsuruhashi shop, is one that Rain visited while in Japan for his 2009 New Year’s fan meets in Osaka (1/14) and Tokyo (1/12). The shop’s management is still showcasing Rain’s autograph and items from that time period.

20 ways your life would suck without Kpop and Kdrama
Have you ever imagined what life would be like without Kdrama and Kpop? Obviously there was life before the two, but who even remembers?
Kdrama and Kpop really do fill voids in your life you never knew you had, they open your eyes to new things, and the old things you always grew up with have become reinvented with your favorite drama and Kpop references. Every day you mingle with people who don’t live in your “K World” and worst, they don’t even know it exists! What if you were still one of those people?! This list is exactly how your life would be if you had never discovered Kdrama or Kpop…

We’ve seen Rain in many textbooks up to this point, haven’t we? Here he is in yet another Korean children’s tome, Korean History Shown in Figures textbook (교과서에 나오는 한국사 인물). The book is 168 pages, with over 100 notable people from the Three Kingdoms Era (King Dae JoYoung, Queen Seondeok, etc.), the Goryeo Dynasty, the Chosun Dynasty (King Sejong the Great, etc.), the time of Japanese occupation, and modern day South Korea. Of course, Rain is one of the 34 figures listed under modern day South Korea. He shares a page with champion figure skater Kim YuNa and award-winning pianist Lee HeeAh, who found great success despite severe physical challenges. — S. ^@@^ (Images: Cloud USA)

TV Report 9/12/2013 —
Rain followed by his fans even while using an escalator
Singer Rain gathered a crowd wherever he went in China.
On the 12th, CFP, one of Chinese news media, released a new photograph that shows Rain visiting China’s Shanghai. In the picture, even a place where he personally tried taking a meal was filled with his fans.
The news report said, “Rain showed up at a restaurant specializing in dimsum dishes in Shanghai’s Xintiandi with his acquaintances and body guards that day. He was met by his loyal fans getting his destination beforehand everywhere he went. (at the entrance to a shopping mall, in elevators, at the entrance to the restaurant, etc.)
While he was eating in the restaurant, they were even waiting for him outside. After the meal, he signed an autograph for a woman waiting for him outside as if he was in a good mood. And then, he and the others left the site.”
After his discharge from the army, Rain returned to the stage through Bangkok’s Sonic Bang in Thailand on the 24th of last month and visited China’s Shanghai to promote a cosmetics brand for which he works as a model.

Rain’s 2012 aerial summer blockbuster, simply titled Return To Base in Japan, will have five showings at an upcoming festival in that country commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Korean Wave.
The K-Movie Festival will be held from October 12 through November 8, 2013 in two districts—Roppongi and Shinsaibashi. In addition to popular release Return To Base, the marquee also includes Fists of Legend, Dancing Queen, and nine other action and entertainment movies released by CJ E&M. The entire lineup looks pretty impressive.
Return To Base will be shown in Roppongi on October 14, 23, and 27, and November 2 and 6.

[info][Cloud USA] A Super Cell Cloudburst is on the horizon — in New Orleans.
•September 8, 2013 • 113 Comments{*PLEASE NOTE: Now, just so that newer folks don’t misunderstand, this is NOT a Rain fan meeting, with him. This is a Cloud USA community get-together for Clouds and fans, the same as the ones we’ve been having for the past few years. ^@@^}
Hear ye, hear ye!
WHAT: It’s time for another Cloud USA get-together, where we can all get our Rain-on and celebrate his return to the world stage. Only this time, the super cell won’t be hovering over Atlanta like the others have, but over “Nawlinz.” The Big Easy. New Orleans, Louisiana.
WHERE: Cloud USAer Gee is graciously opening her home to Clouds and other Rain fans for the event. She lives only about a mile away from every major hotel in the city, so she won’t be hard to find. She is planning an amazing menu of New Orleans dishes, and there is even going to be soju. 🙂 For anyone who might be worried about hotel AND travel expenses, Gee’s house is large, and she has four extra beds (a set of twin beds and two queen-sized beds), if you need to save on some money. She’d love the company!
WHEN: Saturday night, September 28, 2013 at 7 PM until. (You heard right. UNTIL!)
NOTES: Gee has given us permission to post her cell number for those who plan to attend. That number is: (504) 415-1258.
For Gee’s home address, please drop us a line at letitrain@cloudusa.org, and we’ll email her address to you ASAP.
As we understand it, there is a big football game in town that same weekend between the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins. So, don’t wait too long to make concrete plans as to where you’re going to stay. A good idea is to check for lodgings in Metairie, as that is only five minutes from downtown New Orleans and five minutes from Gee’s home. There are quite a few options on Causeway Blvd. (the Hampton Inn Metairie, the Sheraton Metairie, the New Orleans Marriot Metairie, the Holiday Inn Metairie, etc.) We know of one Cloud who has already made reservations at the Sheraton.
Gee is planning goodie bags and door prizes in addition to great food, and we’re bringing some Rain goodies with us from Atlanta to give away and some classic Rain entertainment to enjoy. So, you can bet a great time will be had by all. 🙂
We’d like to get an accurate headcount for meal and door prize budgeting purposes. So, if you’d like to come, please R.S.V.P. to this invitation at letitrain@cloudusa.org.
That’s it for now! Hope to see you there!

K-Shot Postscript: Rain 비 – Speed Racer
•September 8, 2013 • 2 CommentsPure awesomeness. Ahahaha. 🙂 — Stephe ^@@^
Ok, I really liked Speed Racer. And, no not just because Rain was in it although it was really cool that he was. But even more importantly, he landed on the Wachowski’s radar and THAT resulted in Ninja Assassin. I concur that Rain would make an incredibly good action film star with a healthy side of brood and insolence mixed in. I rather enjoy him in broody, insolent roles where you ultimately end up liking him because somewhere buried beneath those layers of insolence is a decent guy who upon discovering his own decency, lets us in on it. Rain’s Taejo Togokahn is one of those guys.

2-3 September Shanghai Mentholatum Event Fan Account
By: huhuhuhu @The Cloud

2 September
When our prince came out to the arrival hall we all shouted loudly to welcome him. I am sure he has put thought into his fashion. Red is the colour of China, and he dressed with a touch of red and a pair of red shoes to Shanghai to see his fans. Not only is he cool and handsome, he is also very thoughtful. This is our man!
He smiled and waved to us and was escorted to an exit gate to get to the car. Many fans followed him but suddenly we were all stopped. The second exit door could not open so our prince was trapped between the first and second exit door. The securities had to make way for him to come out and get out from another exit gate. Because of this “accident” many fans were able to see our prince for a bit longer, so we secretly thanked the broken door.^^
Photo: our prince being trapped:
We all shouted with happiness after we saw him leave, but some passengers and airport staff were even more excited than us. They exclaimed proudly “I saw Rain very closely. He is tall and cool”^^
Photos taken by other passengers inside the airport:
3 September
My friends had breakfast in the hotel and after having been there for more than two hours, they saw our prince. He had a late breakfast. We all lined up promptly at the hotel to get to the event hall and waited patiently for the event to start. Many media people had set up their camera and they were right in front of us. I remembered the discharge day and I hoped this time they would not block our sight.
Finally the MC introduced our prince, and he came out in white shirt, white jacket and dark trousers. Needless to say, he was so so so handsome. The MC asked him to say something to us, and when he said in Chinese “I missed you all” I felt very touched. The way he said it, his voice just gave a warm current all over my body.
The MC said his Chinese was very good, and asked him to say something more to us, in Korean or Chinese. Quite unexpectedly, he said “fighting” in Chinese. This was so funny I couldn’t help laughing, and I saw that our prince also laughed after he said this^^. At the 2011 The Best Show concert in Beijing, our prince also said “fighting fighting fighting ”in Chinese and then he laughed^^ The scene came back vividly to my mind. Our prince had not changed, he is still our lovely, cute prince!
We watched the CF making film and the new CF at the event. Our prince was awesome. Afterwards there was a short Q&A and a photo time. When the event was about to end, all the fans standing at the back rushed up to the front in order to have a good look at our prince. The securities tried to stop us but at the end they gave up^^. I think our prince was also happy to see us closer to him^^ He smiled and waved goodbye to us as he left the hall.
Some fans waited for him and followed him to his favourite xiao long bao (dumpling) restaurant., while many of us were waiting at the airport. We lined up in two opposite lines to make a passage for him. I saw two male fans and they told me their unfortunate story.
They were not able to apply for a ticket to attend the event. So they went to the hotel early without lunch and hope they could find a way to get in. As they went close to one of the doors to the event hall, the security staff told them only female fans were allowed to go in. They tried all kinds of means to talk to the security people to allow them to get inside. One male fan even almost had a fight with the security staff. Unfortunately they still could not get in at the end, and they could only get a glimpse of our prince whenever someone got in and out of the door. I felt so sorry for them. In fact the event hall was very big, and we didn’t even fill up one third of the fans area, because the organizer limited the number of fans.
Photo: our passage and the 2 male fans^^:
We waited and waited and finally we saw our prince coming through the gate towards us. He walked very fast because his departure time is imminent. But still he waved to us before he entered the departure hall. Our prince has this magnetic power, as soon as he appeared the passage way disappeared as fans tried to rush forward to follow him. He waved to us inside, and when he was about at the immigration, he waved to us again.
Photo: waving 3 times to us^^
There were a lot of photos from passengers who travelled at about the same time as our prince. They were all impressed and complimented our prince and eager to upload their photos. Lucky travellers!
Photos: inside the airport by other passengers:
And I missed him already even before he disappeared inside the security check. Even though this was a short visit, I am glad to know you managed to have your favourite dim sum and hope you enjoyed your trip!

Rain, “I haven’t made any firm plans at this point. Chinese directors’ proposals are in the melting pot.”
Singer Rain has proven that he remains just as popular as ever even in China.
According to ‘Tungstar’, one of the Chinese media, Rain working as a model of a Chinese prestigious cosmetics brand, visited Shanghai for a commercial promotion event last 3rd.
As this was his first appearance in front of his Chinese fans after his discharge from the army, he received a more enthusiastic response than ever.
Rain with a white jacket and black pants at the scene of the event, captivated his Chinese fans with his stylish looks. And, he said hi to them in Chinese, “Hello, everyone. This is Rain. Long time no see. I’ve missed you so much.”, which made them much more excited.
Meanwhile, Rain talked about his future plans through press interviews, “I don’t have a definite plan yet, but I’d like to release my new album or to play in a drama or a movie as soon as possible. Chinese directors and I have been talking about movies I’ll star in. I also want to meet Chinese movie fans soon.” This could mean that there is a potential for him to have a career in China.

At the press conference in Shanghai this past weekend. Includes a view of Rain’s newest Mentholatum CF (upcoming) from the audience. (Video source credit: QQ.com, China / courtesy of scorpiolabi1 @YT.)
LINK: The Making of Rain’s upcoming Mentholatum commercial spots, on Sina, filmed at the press con from the audience. Remember how with the first call from Mentholatum, he made sure he had a killer body? Suffice it to say, we all now know one of the reasons he hurried up and got that man-V front and center before getting out of the Army—they were calling again. Geez, I thought he looked incredible in his first making-of, in 2011. This one? Just be sitting down, please. Goodness mercy me. Insane.
Notice, he and the hostesses are sticking with the B&W color scheme and wearing very close to what they did the first time, give or take. Very cute, how they’re all matchy-matchy. 🙂 ^@@^
