This first Korean clip from 2004, subtitled in Japanese for JP Super TV, is pretty cool to watch. It shows the l-o-n-g hours that Rain, Song Hyekyo, and the Full House crew (production and post-production) went through in order to make the K-drama, which paid off when it captured a record amount of viewers across Asia.
It made me so happy to see the “Full House” house again, but only for a few moments because then I remembered it no longer exists and I’ll never be able to visit the place. *sigh*
Oh, well. C’est la vie. ^@@^

This second Korean clip, also from 2004, shows funny outtakes and unpublished scenes from the K-drama. And, as usual, Rain is ridiculously adorable and full of fun. I enjoyed the whole thing, but when Rain kept laughing and ruining take after take when Hyekyo hit him with a banana and beat him up, and he hugged that poor column for comfort, I about busted a gut. ROFL! 😀

Jung Ji Hoon’s new drama ‘My Lovely Girl’ getting hot reactions from Japan & China
Jung Ji Hoon (RAIN)’s new drama, ‘My Lovely Girl,’ is getting explosive reactions from China and Japan even though it has not even started yet.
On July 29th, a representative of the production company of channel SBS’ new drama, ‘My Lovely Girl,’ told that a great number of buyers from China and Japan started calling in to inquire about purchase contract directly after the news about Jung Ji Hoon’s casting confirmation was released.
They also told that many buyers are asking various other questions, such as questions regarding who else is casting in the drama, and when can they purchase the drama’s copyright.
At the moment, China is one of the countries where the power of Korean Wave is the biggest, and many buyers in the region started largely expanding budgets for Korean drama import from last year.
In case of SBS drama ‘The Inheritors,’ the price per episode was set below KRW 20,000,000, but the price per episode for SBS drama ‘It’s Ok, It’s Love’ is costs approximately KRW 12,300,0000(USD $120,000) now. The average price per episode of Korean dramas grew by almost 7 times compared to last year, and Korean dramas’ popularity is still making a boundless growth.
RAIN is going to make his first comeback to TV screen in four years through ‘My Lovely Girl,’ and it is expected that the drama’s popularity will grow even bigger once it actually starts. Many fans of Korean Wave are also showing huge curiosity about whether any other K-Pop stars will cast in the drama, because the background of the drama is an entertainment company.
The press conference for ‘My Lovely Girl’ will take place in early September, and many people are predicting that the price per episode for ‘My Lovely Girl’ is going to exceed that of ‘It’s Ok, It’s Love.’
Meanwhile, ‘My Lovely Girl’ will premiere on September 17th as the sequel of ‘It’s Ok, It’s Love.’
The assistant general manager of Chinese gaming portal YZZ.cn posted images from movie director Gao Xixi’s Difficult Love presentation at this promotional event. Very cool! Rain’s Chinese film will be premiering in Asia in November of this year, and looks like it’s going to be a real tearjerker. Get your hankies ready! ㅜ.ㅜ 🙂 (Images credit: 风贼 / fengzei @Weibo)

(Rain’s birthday “cake” contains messages from Clouds in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Faroe Islands, Malaysia, France, Hungary, Ukraine, Brazil, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, and Spain. Thanks to every one of you! ♥)
Way back in late April, Stephe asked me for input in regards to Jung JiHoon’s birthday this year, and fortunately I had seen an idea on Facebook or Pinterest perhaps, and I sent it to her. That was when the Birthday Wishes Cake for Rain project was born! I’ve been the Activities Director for Cloud USA for a while now, but we really haven’t had the opportunity to do something together, so I quickly volunteered to head the project.
I had no idea how challenging it would be but, in the same breath, I’m very happy that I volunteered. This has been a lot of fun. It has given me the opportunity to be creative and also to meet a lot of new Cloud sisters. *waves to everyone*
When Stephe first posted the project, I was worried that people wouldn’t participate and the “cake” might end up being a “cupcake.” 😀 But so many of you came forward and I started seeing your contributions and requests pop into my email. I like to think my volunteering to make messages for those not so creative helped to give Clouds who usually wouldn’t have participated an opportunity to be a part of our project. And BOY, there was a lot of those, 57 to be exact. (Phew!) It was so much fun to let my creativity flow when formatting messages on backgrounds that I hope everyone will be proud of.
That being said, those that had the time and/or ability to create their own messages did an amazing job. It was so thrilling to see them come in and see how everyone showed their love and appreciation to Jung JiHoon. I did have to edit some of the contributions to fit the required size, so if you see your message and it’s changed, please forgive me and I hope the edits I made have done them justice.
(Front…)
(Back.)
(Packed!)
I’ve included photos of the “baking” process in this post, the gathering of materials, the cutting, and the rolling of 139 messages in total. And WOW, thank you all for that, as it enabled us to have a two- tier cake.
Getting the messages on the cake turned out to be the most challenging part, but I figured it out. (I apologize if some pictures are a little blurry. My cell phone doesn’t have the greatest camera.)
I hope everyone is pleased with the way it turned out. Thank you again to Stephe and Terri for letting me mange the project, and a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated. Let’s hope it brought a smile to Jung JiHoon.
We have been notified that his cake did arrive at its destination.

Rain Will Star In A New K-Drama: You Should Be Excited
Singer and actor Rain (Jung Ji-Hoon) will be coming back to the small screen with SBS drama My Lovely Girl (내겐 너무 사랑스러운 그녀). This will be his comeback to the screen in about 4 years.
The drama is about a man being hurt by love which is healed by another love. Rain will be playing the role of Hyun-Wook, an entertainment agency president and producer who is loses his love in an accident and falls for his previous girlfriend’s younger sister. His character looks quite indifferent but inside he has a sensitive soul.
The full cast will be set early August and it will be aired after the end of It’s Okay, It’s Love. The romantic fantasy drama is scheduled to be aired September 17th which is set to be a 16 episode drama.
Popular idol group Got7 got down live on M!Countdown with a medley of Rain’s hit songs on 7/24, namely “Escaping the Sun”, “It’s Raining”, “Rainism”, and “LA Song.” I really enjoyed how they put their own little spin on some of the moves, heheh.
Thanks to Willenette @ the Rain Official Music Thread on SOOMPI for the tip! 🙂 ^@@^

As we understand it, BamBam of Got7 took to his Instagram the same day to thank his seonbae-nim (Senior) Rain for helping them prepare. Very sweet. We like. 🙂
Sexy movie, musical, and K-drama actor Shin SungWoo wears many hats (music producer and composer, director, singer, sculptor). He’s also a biker and avid motorcycle enthusiast, and it looks like that is something he and his junior Rain have in common. Thank you for sharing your picture, SungWoo씨.^^ (Image credit: shin_sungwoo @Instagram, posted 7/24/2014)
* My observation: I believe SungWoo씨’s picture is from August 2011, from the day Rain tweeted from Sokcho about getting caught out in the street, 2 months before going into the military. Rain’s wardrobe is completely the same, right down to the accessories. ^@@^

After Rain accepted the lead role of “CEO Hyun Wook”, the working title of upcoming SBS K-drama “Song For You” was changed to “My Loveable Girl” or “My Lovely Girl”, depending on who’s translating it, or “She’s Too Adorable (Lovely) For Me” (“내겐 너무 사랑스러운 그녀”, pronounced naegen neomu salang-seul-eoun geunyeo, taken directly from the new K-drama’s info page on Daum). *NOTE: There is no official English title given by the Powers That Be behind this production, only the Korean title. The English ones you see being bandied about by the English-speaking Media are for translation’s sake for English speakers.

Rain to Make Drama Comeback through ‘My Lovable Girl’
Rain will finally be returning to the drama world.
An affiliate of SBS’s new drama My Lovable Girl (translated) announced on July 25, that Rain has confirmed to act in the drama, returning to the small screen about four years since he starred in The Fugitive Plan B in 2010.
My Lovable Girl is a romantic fantasy drama set in the K-pop world, depicting the story of young people who overcome their painful memories through music and love.
Rain will be taking the role of lead character ‘Hyun Wook,’ the CEO of an agency and the main producer who seems to have no interest in the world. He will be encountering ‘Se Na,’ the younger sister of his ex-lover who died in an accident, and will fall in love with her.
Rain, who accepted the casting offer as soon as he saw the scripts for My Lovable Girl, said, “I was drawn to the sincere story of young people curing their painful memories of love, with the K-pop industry as the background. I decided to act in the drama because I wanted to depict ‘Hyun Wook’ in a charming way, who carefully takes a step towards his destined love.”
My Lovable Girl, which was previously called ‘Song For You,’ has officially changed its title after Rain accepted the casting offer.
It has also been reported that most of the cast of My Lovable Girl will be selected through the production company’s audition, gathering interest from numerous agencies, as starring in the drama is a great chance for many idols to make a small screen debut and earn star status.
My Lovable Girl will be finalizing its cast members by the beginning of next month and begin filming soon after. It is set to air on September 17, following It’s Okay, It’s Love.
Rain to Finally Return to the Small Screen with New Drama “My Lovable Girl”
Superstar Rain will finally be returning to the small screen with a new drama called “My Lovable Girl” on SBS. This is his first drama project in four years, after “The Fugitive: Plan B” in 2010.
In his new drama, Rain will play the role of a music producer with a painful past who heals his wounds with a new relationship. He decided to take on the role as he thought it reflected his life as an entertainer very well. The drama’s original working title was “A Song For You,” but the title has been confirmed as “My Lovable Girl.”
“My Lovable Girl” will finalize its casting by the beginning of August and start shooting right away. It will start airing on September 17.

“It was planed since long ago, please stop misinterpreting.”
It is true that singer and actor Rain has recently been baptized into the Roman Catholic Church, but he revealed that it has nothing to do with marriage and his girlfriend Kim Tae Hee.
A representative from Rain’s company, Cube Entertainment, revealed to Star News that, “It is true that he was baptized,” and “but it had been planned long time ago.”
The representative also said, “We would like if the false rumors and misinterpretations could stop about this being involved in marriage with Kim Tae Hee.”
The Media was informed that Rain was baptized on July 20 in the company of Kim Tae Hee and her family. The baptism was performed secretly, and it has nothing to do with marriage talks.

Rain Rain Rain Oh my Lord Rain. How I love this man so much. If I could meet him I would faint and like explode. He is funny, sexy, he can sing, dance, and act. He will be in the Upcoming movie “The Prince” next to Bruce Willis, John Cusack and Jason Patric. He was also in Ninja Assassins looking more than beautiful. His English is damn good in my opinion. Let’s face it most Koreans on the dramas and some movies suck terribly at English. Ugh but not my baby. I can not wait. It comes out August 22nd, 2014. I will be seeing it in the movies too. I love Bruce Willis movies and add in one of my Husbands. OMO!
See more Mobile, more Rain, more action in new trailer for ‘The Prince’
The new full-length trailer for the Alabama-filmed action movie “The Prince” has surfaced online.
Clocking in at a full minute longer than the teaser released last month, the new ad has time to give a few more glimpses into what the movie’s actually about. Plus, there’s room to show a few more of those action sequences shot in Mobile….
One thing that I find interesting about this SBS K-drama is its working title. Specifically, that the working title in Hangul is not made of Korean words, rather it is English words adapted to—or spelled in—Korean, something that’s done quite a lot over there.
For instance, a Korean word for “song” is 노래(no-lae), as in “Love Song (The Song To Make You Stay)” (널 붙잡을 노래, neol butjab-eul nolae) on Rain’s 2010 mini-album Back To The Basic. “Song for you” in Korean words is 당신을위한 노래 (dangsin-eul-wihan nolae). However, as you can see, the drama is being billed as “송포유” (song-po-yu).
ㅅ (s) ㅗ (o) ㅇ(ng) spells the English word song / ㅍ (p) ㅗ (o) takes the place of “for” because there is no “f” sound in Korean, they use a “p” sound for English instead. There also is no straight “r” sound, technically / 유 takes the place of “you” as this is the Korean vowel that is pronounced “yu.”
As a result, if you put 송포유 in a translator, it comes out nonsensical because 포유 is a Korean word for mammal. But Korean-speakers understand on sight that these characters represent English words adapted to the Korean language. Personally, I like this working title. It’s short, sweet, and to the point.
“Song For You” 2014 is categorized as a romantic comedy (16 episodes, Wednesdays and Thursdays), so, if Rain decides to do it, I think it would be a nice fit. According to HanCinema, the synopsis is: “A romance drama about a woman who dreams of standing on stage with her music and a man who’s full of secrets.” ^@@^

Learning Korean: Now you know how “Jung JiHoon Tree” is spelled in Hangul (정지훈 나무, jung ji hoon na-mu).
And while we’re on the subject: Don’t get too angry at people who translate JiHoon’s last name as JEONG, because they have a good reason for doing that. That is the proper spelling in official Korean Romanization: ㅈ (J) ㅓ(eo) ㅇ(ng). In fact, his first name in Romanization is JiHun: 지 (Ji) ㅎ (h) ㅜ (u) ㄴ (n). However, and this is the important part: The official Romanization system of South Korea was criticized when it came into being because its simplicity made Korean to English translations (and vice versa) come out incorrectly. (The combination “eo” is pronounced several different ways in English, chameleon, archaeology, creole, but only one way in Korean—like our “aw.” The letter “u” is pronounced several ways in English, cute, hut, mouse, see what I mean? But it’s pronounced only one way in Korean—like our “oo” in moon. As I understand it, Rain and company adopted the alternate English spelling Jung Ji Hoon so that there would be no question as to how we should pronounce the vowels and we could say his name correctly without a problem. That’s done a lot in South Korea these days, as you’ve probably noticed.
So, don’t be mean to folks about it. Just gently correct them with Rain’s preferred spelling (Jung JiHoon) so they’ll correct themselves and know in the future.
You know what drives me batty? The word Hangul. Because in Korean, it’s spelled 한 (han) 글 (geul), with an “eu” instead of just plain “u.” The correct sound is “eu” as well, not “u.” *sigh* See what I mean? But hey, I’m sure Koreans find the crazy rules we have in the English language just as mind-blowing. 🙂 ^@@^
We here at Collider have a new, full-length The Prince trailer to debut for director Brian A. Miller’s upcoming action-thriller. The film stars Jason Patric as a retired assassin who….
If you don’t know the legends that are G.O.D. (지오디, pronounced gee-oh-dee, Groove Over Dose), they are trailblazers who paved the K-Pop road for their juniors who are idols today, the way Rain did. Not to mention, they and Rain are thick as thieves (really close). It’s great seeing them together again with their little bro Rain. 🙂

On Facebook tonight, I saw that Scorpiola (a dedicated and loyal Cloud who is, by the way, one of the best news scouts Rain has ever had) had posted information on a charitable auction where Marina Bay Sands was auctioning off an item that had once belonged to Rain. Well, I did some digging, and this is what I discovered.
You remember the Marina Bay Sands Resort, right? You know. The one where Rain rang/sang in 2014 looking like a sexy beast? See?
Oh. Sorry. Got a little distracted for a moment.
ANYWAY…The Marina Bay Sands is well known for being a popular hotspot for international celebrities. Last year, however, the resort made an even greater impact on their community by hosting their first annual Sands for Singapore Festival, a charitable festival that “raised over $3.6 million dollars over one single weekend for thousands of beneficiaries” in Singapore.
One of the events included in this year’s program is a celebrity auction. For this auction, Rain generously donated one of his MCM backpacks. (To see Rain’s auction page, click on the image below.)
Whaaaat? You mean I could actually own something that Rain owned? Really? And the proceeds of the sale would actually go to a worthy cause? Really??? Even better, the bag’s a pretty-in-pink one too—simply perfect for one of Rain’s Clouds, don’t you think?
Of course, the intent here is to make a lot of money for many charitable causes, and these backpacks don’t come cheap in the first place. So, the bidding for the bag started at $650.00. (Ouch.) Other stars that have donated items include: Jackie Chan, David and Victoria Beckham, Wang Lee Hom, Sergio Aguero, and the entire cast and director of Spiderman II.
This year’s festival will take place August 1 through August 3, at Marina Bay Sands. You can check out the online guide HERE for all of the details. It looks like they’ve got lots of fun in store for their guests, as well as plenty of ways to contribute to your own favorite charitable causes. Like bidding on a Rain-pre-owned MCM backpack from their celebrity auction, for example. 😛
Wishing you many Rainy days,
Terri :-}

FOREWORD: At first, all I intended to do in this post was celebrate this joyful day for what it is—the day Jung JiHoon returned to his career and civilian life—and not dredge up bad memories. But then I got to thinking about everything Rain went through as a soldier for two years, and all of the newer fans who have no idea because they didn’t find him until after military, and I felt it necessary to say more for them and for Rain.
So, I am. ^@@^
July 10, 2013 was a day Clouds and Rain fans the world over had been waiting for—and on their knees praying for—with bated breath.
It was the day Rain walked away from the ROK, officially finished with his mandatory military duties.
(Clip source credit: SSTV / English subs: It’s Rainism World / courtesy of RAIN WORLD SUBS)
In addition to his daily basic soldier duties, he was worked like a government mule, performing nearly every day and weekend (from March through December 2012) and even ended up in the hospital. (In fact, the only thing that made them ease up on his brutal schedule was his indiscretion with girlfriend Kim TaeHee. Thank God for small miracles.)
All in all, Rain served well and faithfully, and made us proud during his 640-someodd days as a soldier (barring the 3-day violation that got him into trouble). He always did his best. He and his fellow soldiers boosted the morale of their troop mates wherever they were sent and as best they could, without fail. It was nice to see that the troops truly appreciated their efforts, whether netizens believe it or not, and that the Korean public was more forgiving than the press would have us believe.
(Rain’s Morale Train performance on 10/19/2012. Source credit: DEMA / courtesy of ratoka)
My feelings of utter relief as he walked out of that military gate can’t be described. It was hard to watch, though, because he was still at the mercy of the Media and—for a good five minutes—more vulnerable to them than ever. Because of SBS’s inflammatory celeb-soldier exposé and attempts to smear his name, his fellow soldiers couldn’t escort him out or present him with a celebratory cake like they did everyone else. His honorable discharge was ruined for no good reason other than his name.
An extremely foolish Hamban TV reporter, who has interviewed Rain several times throughout his career, angered his fellow reporters by running up on Rain to give him a flippin’ Choco Pie and beg for an interview. Really, dude? (Source credit: Kyunghyang TV)
(Fan cam credit: kuangkuang520bibi)
The press stupidly reported that “he jumped in his car and left without so much as a by-your-leave.” That wasn’t even close to the truth. He stopped and got out of his car twice in an attempt to greet the fans that had been waiting in the damp weather since the night before. The paparazzi thwarted him, however, by completely blocking his way to fans each time, and he had to give up before someone ended up getting hurt.
At least he was free and safely out of that hell hole, and his Clouds from all over the world were there to stand up for him and let him know it was okay.
July 10, 2013. After all was said and done, it was a joyful day and we collectively exhaled.
