*English Instructions on joining Rain’s The Cloud (Fan Site)*
FYI: Terri’s instructional post on joining Rain’s The Cloud (Fan Site) in South Korea has been moved over into the blog sidebar under PAGES: Cloud Projects, and has its own special page so that you don’t have to scour the place trying to find it. So please look right → and then down ↓ if you need it. Or for the time being, go HERE.

**The Cloud is still having server problems over in S.Korea. Rain’s super fan club Benamoo said on their site on the 29th: “The “rain-cloud.co.kr “ server ( the official website of Rain fan club) hasn’t been functioning correctly, so the server needs to be upgraded.” We’re not sure when the 7th Cloud executive board will have the problem fixed, but hopefully it’s soon. Please stay tuned, and use the site as it allows.
Just watching Oh JiHo presenting the Best Solo Dance nominees, with his dimples OH SO FINE, during the live broadcast of the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards early Sunday morning comforted me greatly, as I totally expected Rain to be royally shafted.
(For those of you who don’t recognize him, JiHo played the tragically murdered Kevin, JiWoo’s hot best friend and P.I. comrade, on The Fugitive: Plan B. He also played the hot-to-death General Song TaeHa, one of the main characters in Chuno [Slave Hunters]. Ohhhhhhh… JiHo!)
So when he called out “비…!” (Bi) as the Best Solo Dance Performance winner for “Love Song”, I just about fell out of my chair.
Rain’s CJ One CF spots during the commercial breaks… Oh JiHo presenting in a sharp suit… a well-deserved win for Rain (he promised to revolutionize K-pop dance with “Love Song”, and did it indeed)… AND on top of all that, an acceptance message from JiHoon to boot?
Hot-diggity, dog-diggity, boom, what you do to me. (That’s code for I was ecstatic.) 😀

Hi, everyone. This is Rain.
I’d like to thank you all for this wonderful Best Solo Dance Performance award.
I’m afraid I can’t go to [couldn’t come to ^@@^] the awards ceremony due to the drama shooting. But I’ll be sure to take part in the next awards ceremony, with my great performance.
Hope you’ll give a sincere compliment to many of my seniors and juniors performing at this ceremony.
Please be healthy and happy, everyone.
Thank you.
(The Wonder Girls hanging from the rafters was a pretty cool sight, I will say.)
By the look of his clothes, Rain and one of his trusty MCM backpacks are leaving Guangzhou, China via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on November 28 after the Asian Games, in these images.

THE HINDU 11/27/2010 — Anand Venkateswaran, Correspondent:
The brilliant Opening Ceremony meant expectations for the Closing Ceremony were high. And Guangzhou did not disappoint. Apart from the creativity and coordination, traditional elements like handing over the flag to Incheon, the next host, and the extinguishing of the flame left a warm afterglow at the Closing Ceremony of the 16th Asian Games…
19:13: The giant LEDs say ‘Welcome to Incheon’.
19:09: ‘Rain’ is one of Korea’s leading entertainers. He’s also starred in a couple of major Hollywood motion pictures – ‘Speed Racer’ and the more recent and much more bloody ‘Ninja Assassin’.
19:06: Sounds like a hit number; the Korean athletes can’t stop dancing. Oh, it’s a medley now.
19:05: Fan dancers, Taekwando. Korean pop star Rain is dressed in leather. He brings some mean moves to the floor.
19:03: Incheon is on stage, a glimpse of what to expect four years hence. Blend of the traditional and the ultra-modern. A song and dance sequence – the song sung in hard rock style, a metal-head dummer rupping away with drumsticks on fire. I didn’t mean the ‘on fire’ part figuritively.
18:59: A stiff breeze ripples through the Korean flag, picture perfect. I wonder if Guangzhou arranged for the wind as well. Incheon has been handed over the privilege and the responsibility of hosting the next edition of the Games. The Incheon mayor waves the scroll of the first Asian Games, New Delhi.
18:56: In with the new – the mayor of Incheon, Korea, comes forward to recieve the Asian Games flag. Incheon will host the 17th Asian Games. The national anthem of the Republic of Korea….
Although an extension for Runaway Plan B has been nixed, the finale will be pushed back a week thanks to a recent pre-emption; last week’s scheduled episode of Episode 18 was postponed because of the Asia Games. That means 18 and 19 air this week, and the finale broadcasts on Wednesday, December 8.
Since most premieres usually fall on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays (depending on the show), KBS is choosing to hold back its new drama President until the following week. They’ll fill the post-finale slot (Thursday, December 9) with a special broadcast of Runaway instead, which will give us the usual look at behind-the-scenes clips, NGs, and other unaired footage. (A couple media outlets report that the producers are still negotiating, while a few others announce it as a matter of fact.)
In any case, I expect there’ll be lots of Rain goofiness in the special — at least, there’d better be! Preferably with Lee Jung-jin. Mmm, Lee Jung-jin.
Meanwhile, injured actressYoon Sohn-ha has announced that she will be returning to the show following what seemed like a pretty bad car accident. Her evil-bitch-with-a-stone-cold-heart character, Mi-jin, was written out of the drama in order to let Yoon heal; [MINOR SPOILER?] she’s improved enough to appear in the drama’s last two episodes, and will appear in a wheelchair. I suppose that fits in with the storyline, since her character was shot in a previous episode.
The delay is probably welcome news for the crew of President since, as you may know, the drama was angling to avoid directly conflicting with Daemul, as the two are both Wednesday-Thursday dramas about Korean presidents. They’ll still overlap, but for one week less than originally planned.
The drama stars Choi Su-jong and his wife Ha Hee-ra as president and first lady; despite both actors’ long careers, this is actually the first time they’ll be acting together in 17 years of marriage. I wonder if that rapport will give them extra chemistry, as high-profile spouses playing high-profile spouses. (Not that they need it, with all the acting talent.)
… this past Friday night. We’ve already posted quite a few, but JiHoon is such a funny guy that we couldn’t resist adding these too. LOL!
Enjoy.

I wish Lotte tremendous success in everything you do.
As you know, I’ve been shooting a drama recently.
It’s very important to say the lines in a convincing way without mumbling in the drama.
To achieve this, I’ve put an awful lot of work into improving my pronunciation.
This drama has done a world of good for my development, and is quite interesting.
It’s only a few episodes before the drama is over, but please enjoy the drama until the end of it.
I’m going to have to sing my next song.
My pants are nearly falling off today of all days. (adjusting his pants)

Good evening everybody.
Your voice is too small.
Good evening!
0:09~0:13
Are you fine?
I think I haven’t seen you in years.
0:16~0:35
I’ve been shooting drama ‘The Fugitive Plan B’ so far.
I really want to thank you for loving the drama a lot, and I think it will take me a couple more days to finish this up.
I think I have to roll my hoop after that.
0:38~0:44
Finally, this year marks the 30th anniversary of Lotte Duty Free Shop.
My heart congratulations !
0:47~1:14
I always find that there’re many people here I’ve never met whenever I take part in this concert every year.
Through this concert, there seems to have been so many people to meet.
Are you going to come to this concert in the years ahead ?
(Yeah!)
Aren’t you going to come here?
Raise your hands, those audiences who think they can come.
Thank you.
1:19~1:28
(You are so sexy!)
Do you think I am sexy?
I know it already.
As you know, I’m nothing if I’m not sexy.
1:41~1:52
Pardon me?
(You are so handsome!)
Is there any towel here I can use?
Please give me a towel.
I sweat a lot.
1:54~1:57
The design on this towel looks so childish.
Just a moment!
2:16~2:23
I’m sorry.
I think there is no choice but to do a lot of pretending as a child as I get older.
2:27~
Now, let me sing my next song, Harudo (Not A Single Day)
The producers of KBS 2TV’s “Fugitive Plan B” dropped plans to extend the drama despite the requests from KBS.
A representative of “Fugitive” stated through a phone call with Newsen on November 27th, “KBS proposed that we should extend the show with about 4 more episodes.”
The representative continued, “However, we could not do so because some of the cast and staff members were not able to fit it into their schedules. We were also asked to extend the show by 2 episodes if 4 was impossible, but we had to give that up too.”
Currently, “Fugitive” has 3 episodes left. November 25th’s episode was postponed due to the broadcast of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, causing a bit of disorganization for the drama. Rumors of an extra episode followed, but it turned out to be false.
[*ETA #3: WELL, GOOD GRAVY, FOLKS! Ask, and ye shall receive! Best Solo Dance Performance goes to… RAIN! Who isn’t there! But he did accept the award either by satellite or by prerecorded video. And he looked awfully handsome doing it. Wow. Well, bless my britches. Ha! Congratulations, baby boy!
Performances made of awesome: Gummy, Taeyang, DJ DOC, T.O.P., Far East Movement, and G-Dragon. Oh-em-geee! Although there is a pattern going on… some Kpop guys keep pulling out guns and pretending to shoot their boys in the head… WTH? Wonder Girls were good too, when you take into account that they were running all over and singing live.]
≈
[*ETA #2: Well… Mnet just gave Best Male Solo Artist to Taeyang, who came out of the audience to graciously accept the award. Good going, ‘Yang! My, he looks good. He’s so happy. But you know I’ve got to say it, right? During the nominee announcement right before the winner was revealed, Rain’s clip got the biggest roar from the crowd. (Se7en got the second biggest pop.) I really don’t want to believe the rumors about your no show/no award shenanigans, Mnet… so I suggest someone win tonight who is NOT there. You feel me? *scowl*]
≈
[*ETA #1: I hear Jim bellowing like a lovesick moose and clapping, down the hallway, because Perfume, one of his favorite girl groups, just hit the stage. LOL! I don’t blame him. Cute girls…! 🙂 ]
° ° °
I just popped over there… the feed is smooth, and the show looks impressive. The fans in attendance are screaming their heads off, and of course they would be… 2PM is doing their thing on stage. N-i-c-e!
*GASP* Well, merciful heavens! As I sit here, Rain’s latest CF for CJ One was just aired during the station break. *giggling with glee* Now that was cool.
Okay, so I just might hang around for a while. Couldn’t hurt!
[*ETA #4: Well, it’s around 8:30 am, show is over, and I’m out of here. CJ One was a sponsor of the show, so just about every station break I got to see one of Rain’s CJ One commercials. *still in heaven* I’m really happy about Rain’s win, because I expected him to be completely shafted for not being there… but I wish I felt better about the MAMAs in general. There’s just so much that doesn’t feel right about the way they do things… Hmm. Peace out for now.]
[28-Nov-10][Star News]Rain’s solo performance at the closing of the Guangzhou Asian Games, enjoys high viewer rating.
Singer Rain hit the stage for the closing ceremony of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games on the 27th, which drew the attention of many viewers.
The closing ceremony of the Guangzhou Asian Games carried live on KBS TV (5.9%) and MBC TV (8.5%) took off with a 14.4 % viewing rate by Nielsen Media Research on the 28th. Its rating was 2.4 % above the average (12.0%) of SBS TV’s drama ‘Smile, Mom’ on at the same time.
Rain who sang his hit songs, Rainism, Hip Song, and Friends, during his splendid solo performance, drew big rounds of applause from many viewers.
[28-Nov-10][Nate] Rain, “My solo performance at the closing of the Asian Games was definitely meaningful.”
Singer Rain’s solo performance ended the finale in a flourish at the closing ceremony of the Guangzhou Asian Games.
Rain had his solo performance at the closing ceremony of the 16th Asian Games held in China’s Guangzhou, on November 27th. This is his second participation in an international event after the Beijing Olympic.
As the Korean representative, Rain showed his hit songs, Rainism, Hip Song, and Friends, and his own splendid performance commanded attention.
Rain gave his thoughts after his performance, “I felt burdened by the major task I took on as the Korean representative, but what I had my solo performance was definitely meaningful. I send out a hand of applause for the efforts and passion of all athletes, including those who won medals.”
Meanwhile, Rain is to strive to prepare for his year-end solo concert, ‘Adieu 2010 with RAIN’, to be held in Seoul’s Jamshil Gymnasium upcoming December 31st.
[28-Nov-10][Nate] Rain dazzles 4.5 billion Asians at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
4.5 billion Asian people watched Rain’s stage with breathless interest.
Rain showed his splendid solo performance at a specially prepared stage on the island of Haishinsha(海心沙) during the closing ceremony of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, on the 27th.
By the end of the closing ceremony, Rain was on the stage, singing 3 songs such as Rainism, Hip Song, and Friends.
His powerful performance and black-colored clothes produced a deep impression on participating athletes from 45 Asian countries and more than 30,000 audiences. In particular, he brought Asian people together, singing Friends.
Rain appeared on the stage for the closing of this Guangzhou Asian Games following the stage for the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. With this, he has hit the stage for two international sports events.
Meanwhile, Rain plans to go on shooting KBS 2TV drama ‘Fugitive Plan B’ the next day after completing his stage for the closing ceremony of the Guangzhou Asian Games.
We thought it absolutely wonderful how the red and blue yin/yang symbol in the South Korean flag was inserted into Rain’s huge “Hip Song” speaker graphics—what a nice touch! And how South Korea’s “Dae… han-min-guk!” national cheer started off what looked to be the introduction of Incheon being the next site of the Asian Games in 2014.
If only all countries across the world would concentrate on giving such small tokens of goodwill — which mean a LOT — rather than feeling so insignificant that they’d much rather resort to posturing and outright B.S. (yeah, I’m talking to you and you know who YOU are… *evil eye*).
Enjoy this full cut of Rain’s performance, fans.

[Cloud USA] What a great idea for a new show, MTV. Talk about buzz.
Sooooo… 😀 (Y’all know what I’m about to say, right?)
If incredible 28-year-old powerhouse Rain is the pop culture power player that YOU are most thankful for, regardless of where you live, then get on this and let MTV USA know exactly that. Create more buzz for Rain in the States! Don’t wait for everyone else to do it. Only by putting our “money” where our mouths are, and in NUMBERS, will his talent garner the attention it deserves.
» MTV’s 10 On Top Message Boards are HERE. (Click on “10 On Top: Celebrity Talk”.) Someone has mentioned Big Bang’s Taeyang on it! Wow. And Terri has started a thread on JiHoon, to get the ball rolling there.
More than ever, young celebrities are pop culture power players, doing more moving and shaking in a single week than previous stars did in a lifetime. Each week MTV will present MTV’s ’10 on Top’, a half-hour countdown of the Top 10 most texted and talked about young celebs at the moment. Their ranking will be influenced by the audience – based on the chatter they elicit, and the headlines they create each week, as well as the amount of buzz about their upcoming projects and events (appearances, premieres, tours, etc.).
Host Lenay Dunn will guide viewers through the countdown, introducing hot, new talent, and delivering up exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. It’s an entertaining summary of a week in the lives of young superstar entertainers–what deals they landed, whose hearts they broke, whose star is shining brightest right now, and whose will rise next.
10 on Top will be the weekly destination for our saavy, pop-loving, Tweet-happy audience.
Asia broadcast, 11/27. Let’s continue running and running!
So, we pick up from last week, where JiWoo and JinYi have fled the police/Yakuza standoff at Kieko’s daddy’s compound, and they split up in the back streets of Japan, with Detective DoSoo hot after JiWoo, and the Yakuza henchmen on JinYi’s heels. Good grief — Rain, NaYoung, and JungJin had to go up and run back down the killer steps up that hill several times. No wonder JungJin was clutching at his right leg. Sheesh—
(*GASP* Okay, pause the video for a moment. Just… pause it. And marvel at the size of Rain’s foot close up as he shows us how hard all the running has been on it. It’s really… huge, that foot. And you can see at a glance how well he takes care of those handsome five-toed tootsies of his. Woahhh… You know what they say, cold hands… warm heart, large feet… lar — *shaking my head, slapping myself back into reality* Ughn. Sorry. Back to the episode.)
Ahhh, so now it’s time for the lemme dive over this here car like the stuntman I am caper, where he put the Fear of God into Director Kwak by pretending to have hurt himself. “Oh — he really scared me!” JiHoon the Jokester. LOL! Kwak should have clocked him one upside his head for that.
It’s cool, briefly going through the stunts from that day, and watching Rain and JungJin running off weight. Director Kwak took them to their limits (and still is, as filming for the ending episodes is still going on at the time of this post — well, actually, Rain should be settling back in at home in S.Korea after the 16th Asiad in China, but you know what I mean) and these two Korean powerhouses met his expectations every time. What a team.
LOL! Poor tired baby, spread-eagled on the pavement.
We knew that where the filming went, fans gathered en masse. Well, now you can truly see that in this footage. They were everywhere. (My, but JiHoon’s pants were fitting well that day… oh who am I kidding, his pants fit well every day.)
Okay, here’s the setup for JiWoo to leap from a van onto a flatbed truck for one of his and DoSoo’s knockdown, drag out fights. Nice leap, Rain. Though not surprising, what with your 87Eleven stunt training and all of those times you’ve come leaping up out of a concert stage trap door, airborne. 😉 I see Mr. Double hovering there beside the van too… so I’m thinking that the actual leap from the car to the flatbed was too dangerous for Director Kwak’s comfort.
And so the first fight of the century ensues on the flatbed, with a slip up or two, in all that oppressive summer heat. Poor Rain AND JungJin. They both get a heart for this. ♥ ♥ Ahhhh! Relief! We’re back inside an air-conditioned building for some filming. But oh crap — there’s Yakuza daddy, and JiWoo had better get to running. (Okay, the production guy on the left, in the green shirt, isn’t helping one bit when it comes to Rain keeping a straight face. Gee, thanks, dude! LOL)
And after the second fight of the century in the warehouse (ouch!), running in Beijing, and pausing to take production stills, we’re out of there for this episode. Great work, JiHoon! Enjoy him, fans.

With his usual flair for fashion, Rain looked as spectacular as he sounded during his performance at the closing ceremony of the XVI Asiad, in Guangzhou, China.

… for the 2010 Lotte 9th Family Concert. Cool poster, and pretty massive. How many people did it take to successfully put that up, we wonder? (Quite a few.)
Just another example of tooling around Seoul on a sunny afternoon… and happening upon JiHoon larger than life.
As it is right at 8:37 am on Saturday morning in China at the time of this posting, Rain has roughly twelve hours to go before he has to hit the stage in Guangzhou after eight in the evening.
Break a leg, JiHoon. Have a good time with the crowd and finish up strong! Good luck!
GUANGZHOU, China — Korean pop sensation Rain will sing and dance at the closing ceremony of the Asian Games as part of a promotion for the 2014 Incheon Asiad, organisers said.
The pop star also known as Jung Ji-Hoon will sing three songs at Saturday’s closing ceremony which will be televised throughout Asia, Lee Dong-Me, an official with the Incheon organising committee of the Asian Games said.
Rain has sold millions of records throughout Asia after bursting on to the pop scene early this decade. He has also performed at Madison Square Garden in New York and at Las Vegas.
GUANGZHOU: Rain, the Korean pop music sensation, will perform three songs at the closing ceremony of the Asian Games on Saturday.
The superstar will perform as part of an exhibition for Incheon, South Korea, which will host the 17th Asian Games in four years, 2014 Asian Games Cultural Event director general Kim Dae Hwa said.
As Asiad’s next host city, Incheon was given 10 minutes at the closing ceremony to show case Korea and the city to Asia, he said.
The Korean performance would open with traditional Arirang folk songs, Taekwondo demonstrations and percussion music, he said. Finally, Korean children and celebrities would sing while holding lanterns to welcome Asia’s athletes to Incheon, Kim said. — JP
Singer Rain has been confirmed to perform a solo act for the ‘2010 Asian Games‘ closing ceremony.
On November 27th, Rain will be perform three of his hit songs at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Guangzhou for the ending stage performance.
What has been gaining the most interest is the fact that Rain will have the stage all to himself, showing the tremendous influence he holds as one of the top representative singers for Asia.
Rain also once stood on stage for the ending ceremony of the ‘2008 Beijing Olympics’ as a Korean representative.
“Rain will be flying to China the morning before the closing ceremony, and will return to Korea the following day,” revealed his representative.
Which three songs do you think he’ll perform for the ‘Asian Games’?

As soon as J.Tune Camp’s new address is released, we will bring that to you here. Thank you.]

Lovely Clouds,
J.Tune Camp has announced today (11/25) that their office is moving. They have asked everyone NOT to send any gifts or letters to them until they publish their new address.
That’s right. Not only were we all traveling, fixing Turkey Day dinners with all the trimmings, gathering the folks, and preparing our Christmas trees to go up across the U.S. of A… we were eagerly awaiting NINJA ASSASSIN’s November 19th premiere at legendary Grauman’s Theater in Hollywood, and darting into our local theaters in droves like ninja blurs when the movie hit our cities on November 25th.
What an exciting time that was!
So now, it’s a year later, another Thanksgiving holiday is upon us, and “Raizo” is celebrating the first anniversary of his first breath of life.
Thank you, Rain, for doing your very best and giving us a hero to cheer for in 2009.
Happy Thanksgiving to our Cloud USA community and to Rain fans across the world! Hold your loved ones close. Peace and goodwill to you all this Holiday Season.
Well, it seems that here lately, every time one of the following happens…
1) Someone’s comment isn’t moderated fast enough
2) Someone’s comment gets accidentally caught up in our WordPress spam filter and delayed
3) Someone’s comment doesn’t say what they thought it did, for whatever reason
4) Someone misplaces their comment and doesn’t remember where they posted it
…it is immediately assumed that we had the comment deleted, changed, or moved.
So I’m thinking it’s time Terri and I addressed the issue. Briefly.
If Cloud USA ever deletes or changes your comment, you won’t have to ask about it, because we will leave a nice LARGE message inside your comment box telling you that we did it. We will tell you that we moderated you, and we will tell you why. If you get The Smackdown, you will know it.
As far as moving goes… there is no reason we would ever move a comment. This isn’t the Cloud USA Forum — where you put your comment here is where it will stay.
If you don’t see a message from us to you, that means we didn’t have anything to do with whatever it is you think might have happened. In the ten months that the media blog has been live, we’ve NEVER had to delete or change what anyone has said. So far.
And we appreciate that. Keep up the good work, peeps.

Next issue: The fan site is growing by leaps and bounds, not just visually, but behind the scenes. I mean really growing. We gave birth to a baby, and it’s already in high school. 🙂 And Terri and I and the staff are having to do some major adjustments time wise when it comes to Cloud USA business obligations, end-of-year projects, and the time lines, plans, projects and events for 2011 (in addition to keeping up with family obligations and all of Rain’s news.)
We will certainly continue answering questions and hobnobbing with you peeps as much as possible — connecting with you all is very important to us — but please know that we simply cannot see all of the questions, much less answer all of them. If you ask a question and don’t get an answer, don’t take it personally. There is also a priority factor involved — if we’re researching an important article to make you aware of a critical current issue of Rain’s, there isn’t enough time to step away from that to answer a casual question or to repeat information that’s already in the post you’re talking about.
One thing we absolutely love is how you all help each other when anyone needs it, like the amazing community you are. Please continue to do that. If you have info that someone else needs, jump right in. We appreciate you having our back like that more than you will ever know.
Our time has become terribly limited… please help us to use it wisely. We will continue doing our very best for you all. Please support us!
Behind every Cloud is a silver lining. His name is RAIN.
Cloud USA (EST. January 21, 2010) is a promotional/fan site where all English-speaking Rain Clouds of every age and ethnicity around the globe can share in their love of JI-HOON JUNG, the talented Korean artist known the world over as RAIN [비] (Bi). We want to provide a comprehensive introduction of Rain to those who may not know much about him, as well as help increase his presence in North America.
We also would like to further the popularity of Korean art and culture in the United States.
ENGLISH SPEAKERS FROM ALL COUNTRIES ARE WELCOME HERE. We hope you will visit and participate often!

One year ago this week… We were giving thanks for our families, our food, and our Raizo.
