One of the best things about this “Be The Man” campaign for the SK-800 “Rain” phone is that the sponsor provided the most gorgeous Rain wallpaper ev-varrrr for several months. Holy smokes, I could barely stand it! They spoiled us rotten and the website was pretty sweet, too. SK Telesys had their stuff together from when we found out that Rain had been hired until this campaign (and the next one, for the SK-900 which will have its own post) ran its course. And the phones sold out in record time. 🙂 ^@@^

Rain arrived in Shanghai via Gimpo Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport this past Thursday, and will be filming episodes for Endless August on location in China from now through October. The first cast script reading is soon, and the drama’s press conference will be on or around July 6.
Don’t panic, though — this does not mean his The Squall World Tour has ended. He filmed Come Back, Mister during a Squalling break, right? Right. You can expect that train to start back up again after these drama days are done. 🙂

Some years ago, a fortune teller said that Rain’s face was his fortune (which is why he’s left it alone). And, you could say, Rain took that ball and ran with it, very successfully. He’s the Man of 1000 Faces on the concert stage too, just like in his acting projects on the big and small screens.

Thank you to all those who participated in The Squall Beijing Birthday Event. Birthday wishes from clouds all over the world were collected and collated into a video. The plan was to show this, as a surprise, to Rain at the Squall Beijing concert on 18 June, after his debut history video.
I asked for contribution to this event, as we are also preparing a huge birthday cake on the day. With the funds I have collected, I also arranged the following items for Rain and his staff.
1 bottle Dom Perignon Champagne
4 packs Garrett popcorn
3 tins Japanese cakes and cookies
3 packs egg rolls with edible rose

The hush-hush surprise birthday event went off without a hitch in Beijing. Rain (his birthday is the 25th) was completely taken off guard, and from the looks of things, he was simply delighted. Bless his heart. ❤

Ahh. What a treat, y’all. Sweet teenager Ji Hoon, before he was 비, before he was Rain, when he was a member of fresh-faced boy band FanClub (팬클럽/paen-keul-leob).
Please enjoy this 1998 performance of the song “꿈을 찾아서” (In Search of a Dream) from the group’s album 1집 FANCLUB (FANCLUB VOL. 1). With the camera work, it’s difficult to point Rain out to you before he finally comes into view at minute marker 0:59 behind Kim Hosang, and at 1:25, to our far right at 2:22, and finally gets his solo-on at 2:51. After that, he spends the rest of the song to our far left. In the inset video at 3:45, he should be second from the end on our right side, in the plaid.

1) He had made a successful, award-winning comeback with “Rainism” after being away from the music scene for sooo long, in order to film Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin. That by itself was a doggone thrill! He was so happy, too, holding his award, on his own and without JYP for the first time since debut. Aw. ❤
2) That all-black ensemble he was wearing, only broken up by his tie and hanky, really looked great against his skin. And that A Love To Kill haircut… mmm, yes!

And Yes! Clouds… I got a high five! Yes, I get to touch his hand! He was doing his high five’s to everyone and when he went to my area I was shock and Tom have to shake me because Rain is waiting for my high five, He stop in front of me and I can’t move! Yes! I was paralyzed for a moment and he gave me the look . In his looks as if he was saying: “You don’t want my high five?” And there goes my shaking hand… I told Tom to put my hand in a plastic bag to cover and protect my high five hands. Tom was just laughing hard.

Rain’s agency, Rain Company, reported on May 28 that Rain’s “La Song” hit the number one spot on China’s QQ Music Chart.
This sudden surge of popularity resulted from the singer’s guest appearance on Chinese version of “Running Man,” entitled “Hurry Up, Brother,” on May 21. Through his appearance, Rain was the most searched subject on Chinese portal sites and was successful at topping QQ Music Chart.
“La Song” features a catchy vintage drum beat and metro brass line with a creative arrangement that shows off Rain’s vocal and rapping talents.
Rain has completed the Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo legs of his world tour and is set to perform in Macao on June 4 and Beijing on June 18.
