Heheheh, I’m just kidding around here. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s probably just a little language barrier error. The LAST thing I would be thinking about when I finally had my family around me is sending a tweet on my business admin’s Twitter. (And Rain’s English is better.) Besides, we all already know that Rain was really grateful to every fan at the gate and that he’s going to do his best in this second decade of his career without him having to say a thing.^^

[article] Rain goes to see his mother’s grave after his release.

eNewsWorld 7/10/2013 โ€”

Rain Goes to See His Motherโ€ฒs Grave After His Release

Right after his release, Rain went to see not his lover or his other family members, but his mother. The singer was released from the Defense Media Agency on July 10, concluding his military services.

48198717

He briefly greeted the 100 press members and 700 fans who had been waiting for him, then left the scene just two minutes later. It seems he only made a brief appearance in order to lie low amidst the recent controversies surrounding his former unit and PR agents.

He said, “I was ordered a discharge on July 10, 2013. Thank you for coming. Iโ€ฒll do my best to work hard.” He then left in a car his agency had provided for him. A rep from Rainโ€ฒs agency told enews, “Right after his release, he plans to visit his motherโ€ฒs grave at the Byeokje Memorial Park in Gyeonggi-do Goyang-si. For the next few days he will spend time with his family.”

Rain also went to see his mother a day before his enlistment in 2011.

The Ministry of National Defense has revealed it will conclude its audit on the PR unit within the week, and impose strict punishments.

{*Edited to Add: Everyone, I have watched this clip again several times because it kept bothering me, and now I am of a mind that I have misspoken. I did not realize that the white shirted guy at the beginning, who was supposed to be near Rain, was NOT the white shirted guy who came up to Rain after he finished speaking. The man in the pinkish/purple shirt was only trying to protect Rain from the second guy as best he could. Another confusing thing about it is that Rain seemed to be trying to be polite to the second guy, as if the dude being in his space was okay. Another confusing thing is how the video was shot in such close quarters. You couldn’t tell that the scuffle only involved the four of them.

I apologize to the man in the pinkish shirt for being too quick to judge. I was wrong. Must look at things more carefully! ๐Ÿ™‚ โ€” Stephe ^@@^}

New on the Block: Rain’s Discography on CloudUSA.org

•July 9, 2013 • 15 Comments

Rain's Discography~Cloud Cover by Terri :-}, Managing Editor

Lovely Clouds,

Remember that super special secret project that I’ve been hinting at for the past two years? ย Well, guess what? ย It’s finally here.

As you know, Cloud USA is constantly seeking ways to improve its contribution to Rain’s world. ย It’s not always easy to come up with unique ideas, or even ideas that we think might really matter all that much to the vast Cloud community, which frankly, has been around a LOT longer than Cloud USA.

vol1However, as Rain was about to go into the military, Stephe and I found ourselves doing some major brainstorming to try and come up some way to 1) make the time Rain was gone go even faster for us and 2) make it easier for future English-speaking Rain fans to learn more about him and to understand his work.ย  (And since #2 really is one of our direct missions, we are determined to complete it.)

After a rather lengthy discussion, we finally decided that one of the best things we could personally do for him was create someplace out in cyberspace where Rain’s English-speaking fans could always count on finding good, solid English translations of his songs. So, after some major planning and schedule overhauling, that’s exactly what we did.

In honor of Rain’s release from the ROK Army, Cloud USA is proud to present our “Rain’s Discography,” an extremely special space on Cloud USA’s website that has been two years in the making. In Rain’s Discography on Cloud USA, you will currently find:

  • Lyrics to all six of Rain’s main Korean albums (from n001 to Back to the Basic)
  • Romanized Korean (and Japanese) of all of the songs on all six albums
  • English translations of all of the songs on all six albums
  • The best images we could find from the albums themselves (or from the same time periods)
  • YouTube videos of some of the best performances and/or fan-mades out there of all of the songs on all six albums.

To access the discography, simply locate the “Rain’s Discography” attachment-007vbutton on the website’s navigational menu at the top of the homepage at CloudUSA.org. ย Once you are on the main discography page, then all you have to do to find a song and its accompanying pages is scroll down, pick the album you want to investigate, and click on the song name.ย  Voilร !ย  That’s all there is to it.

Stephe and I sincerely hope you will enjoy the discography.ย  It was truly a labor of love for me.ย  Rest assured that I will be adding more albums and songs to the discography as time and my schedule allow.ย ย  Certainly, this is a work in progress, and as Rain will continue to make new albums, I don’t ever see my work finishing.ย  But for me, trying to catch up and then keeping up is half the fun!ย  :-}

Wishing you many Rainy Days,

Terri :-}

P.S.ย  We already have some really fun surprises prepared for you on this front.ย  So, please do keep a sharp eye out for updates.ย  :-}

From Stephe’s desk: The wheels in those neti-brains may be turning, but…

MjAxMy05NzE4NjVhYjgyMzE0YjJj

Apparently, according to this article on Nate, the 59-year-old tenant who originally got into trouble with Rain for refusing to pay her rent some years ago has now been fined by the courts for spreading false claims that Rain raped her and tried to rob her.

She spread the lies on banners back in January after losing her counter suit (this chick really doesn’t want to pay her rent, huh?).

According to NetizenBuzz, the gist of the article is this:

The woman has been running a gallery in Rain’s building since 2009. Rain filed a lawsuit against her in 2010 because she stopped paying rent. She filed a counter suit claiming that Rain had not repaired the building, damaging several of her paintings. In January of 2013, after losing the lawsuit, the woman started putting up banners claiming that Rain raped, threatened, and tried to rob her. The court fined her $3,000 USD for spreading false claims.

This is Aju News‘ point of view, as translated by ํ™”๋‹ˆ:

The 7th Detective Department in the Seoul Central District Public Prosecutors’ Office said on the 7th that A (aged 59) who staged a one-man demonstration claiming that she had been raped by singer Rain (Jung Ji-Hoon, 31), was summarily indicted by the prosecution for intentionally spreading false information being fined 3,000,000 won. A is charged with putting up a banner saying ‘I was raped, threatened, assaulted, and robbed by soldier ‘Jung Ji-Hoon’, and was attacked by a mob including him, which has cost me my health, and that’s why I’ve ended up homeless on the streets’ in front of Jung’s building located in Gangnam-gu’s Cheongdam-dong, Seoul and of the Seoul Central District Public Prosecutors’ Office last January.

According to the prosecutor’s investigations, A who had been a tenant running a gallery in Jung’s building, circulated false information out of ill will because she had been evicted for not paying the rent.

So. Here we have a guy (Rain) who was not only stiffed by someone who figured he should let them run their business on his property for FREE, we have a guy who has been libeled with rape and assault (pretty nasty crap!) NOT because he did it, but because he didn’t let a freeloader stay on his property for FREE.

You would think people would be outraged about a woman who would blatantly lie about something like that, because of how quickly it could ruin a man’s life and how hard that makes it for real victims. Right? Or that they would take her to task for breaking the law by not paying her rent, at least.

hamster

But no. Hold up. Wait a minute. Because it is RAIN, the only thing that some of their little minds manage to hammer out is how the release of the story must be a media ploy by Rain’s management to garner sympathy for him because his discharge is imminent.

*looking around, waiting for the punchline* O__o LMAO

Let me school y’all on something. People who like/adore Rain are going to like/adore him, regardless, and people who hate Rain are going to hate him, regardless. It just is what it is. Trying to garner sympathy would be a colossal waste of his time. He gets plenty of sympathy anyway when people read inane and illogical claptrap from netizens, like them wondering whether or not to feel sorry for a guy who didn’t rape anyone but was publicly accused of it. LOL! Wow.

The wheels in your neti-brains may be turning, but your hamsters are dead.

[article] The Ministry of Defense isn’t punishing Rain because he wasn’t even THERE.

•July 8, 2013 • 19 Comments

โ€” Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^

LMAO

Now, check this out.

We’ve been suspicious from the word go if Rain was ever even at the table with the soldiers being investigated. Why?

Because the reporters never seemed to even try to show him in there eating, drinking any alcohol, on a cell phone, or coming OUT of the restaurant, or gallivanting around town with the other soldiers. All they did was suddenly cut to footage (the ONLY footage of him) standing outside and then walking away after fetching KCM. The Biggest Fish in the Pond when it comes to your prejudice for celebrity soldiers, and you don’t get him breaking the rules? (If that were us, even if it involved breaking our necks with the effort, we would have gotten HIM if nobody else!)

So now look at what Colonel Wi is saying about that night. “Rain came back later after the consolation performance, and couldnโ€™t have a meal with other soldiers. Therefore, after he had meal with the executives, he came back to his lodgings and went to sleep.โ€ About the suspicion toward drinking alcohol, it was explained that โ€œeven if Rain had drunken alcohol, it was caused by the order given by the executive. The commanders could have offered him to drink in terms of encouragement.โ€ Well, ain’t that interesting.

And you wonder why, when we know that reporters are desperate and on a witch hunt, we question EVERYTHING THEY SAY. Er, did you all conveniently forget to mention that Rain wasn’t with the group you were following all over town? Did you? Was he even on the bus you kept showing? *tsk tsk*

The MoD isn’t punishing him because the Brass was sitting there watching him the whole time during their own meal. They’ve already told the Media he has nothing to do with the investigation. Now you see whyโ€”because he wasn’t with the group of soldiers being investigated, except for two seconds, maybe.

The bottom-feeders in the Korean Media and the scuzzy netizen sites aren’t spreading Innolife’s article because it’s always tradition to just let Rain take the fall. I mean, what would people do if they couldn’t bash Rain? Oh, the horror of it!

*LMAO at those dumber-than-dumbass netizens who couldn’t figure out REAL news if it fell on their heads* ROFL ^@@^

Rain will be discharged from military as planned on 10thโ€ฆ Ministry of National Defense would give him no punishment

Among the controversy around the reality of the military services done by entertainment soldiers, the singer Rain (Jung Ji-Hoon) will be discharged from the military as previously arranged on coming 10th.

Colonel Wi Yong-Sup from Ministry of National Defense talked about the situation of the progression of the specialized investigation about the reality of entertainment soldiersโ€™ military services which became the controversy through the recent report given by SBS โ€˜Site 21โ€™, in the Cabinet meeting held in the briefing room of the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul, Yongsan-gu, on 5th. According to Ministry of National Defense, the soldier Jung Ji-Hoon has nothing related to the controversy surrounding the entertainment soldiersโ€™ military services, and he will be discharged on 10th as previously arranged without punishment.

Rain had been in the center of controversy when SBS โ€˜Site 21โ€™, which was broadcast on 25th of last month, reported the scene of him having meal and drinking alcohol outside after the performance of consolation for soldiers. About this, Ministry of National Defense said โ€œRain came back later after the consolation performance, and couldnโ€™t have a meal with other soldiers. Therefore, after he had meal with the executives, he came back to his lodgings and went to sleep.โ€ About the suspicion toward drinking alcohol, it was explained that โ€œeven if Rain had drunken alcohol, it was caused by the order given by the executive. The commanders could have offered him to drink in terms of encouragement.โ€

The result of other entertainment soldiersโ€™ specialized investigation will be notified on next week. According to the Ministry of National Defense, the investigation of other entertainment soldiers, excluding Rain, and the commanders in charge of those will be proceeded as scheduled, and the investigation will be finished in next week, followed by strict action.

Spotlight: Cloudy With A Chance of Rain

With the recent news of Rain to be discharged from the army on July 10th, we thought that right now โ€” being the calm before the storm โ€” would be a good time to give the low-down on the K-pop megastar, as an introduction for those who may have come into K-pop only after he had vacated the scene, or as a refresher for those who have been patiently awaiting his return.

Rain (real name: Jung Ji-hoon; he also goes by stage nameย ๋น„ (Bi) โ€” the Korean word for โ€œrainโ€) is an R&B/pop artist who first started out in JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2000, impressing JYP with his persistence and his talent, despite having initially been rejected several times due to his looks.

He debuted in 2002 with his first album, Bad Guy, [Stephe’s Note: Rain’s debut album was entitled n001, not Bad Guy. That was the song.] promoting the title track โ€œBad Guyโ€ off the album, as well as โ€œHandshake.โ€ In 2008, he also performed a tango-version of โ€œBad Guyโ€ with actress Kim Sun-ah….

You know what we say to this.

Do whatever the heck you want to, Rain. Smile away. The Media hasn’t ruined any other celebrity soldier’s discharge day as far back as we can remember because they’ve been saving all of their rancor up for yours in particular, which is pretty scuzzy. Don’t let them dampen your pride in what you have accomplished. Six hundred-plus days for someone who didn’t choose the military as a career is nothing to sneeze at.

You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. Whatever you do, somebody in South Korea will declare it WRONG. So don’t even worry about it. Just step out of there with your head high, and be yourself. That’s it. And then go on about your business. Anyone who doesn’t like it can sit on it and spin. ^@@^

Osen 7/5/2013 โ€” [English translation by ํ™”๋‹ˆ]

Rain faced with the dilemma of whether or not to laugh on his discharge day.

The interest is focused on how singer Rain supposed to leave the army on the 10th as scheduled, will appear in front of the public.

Usually, the discharge celebration of an ordinary star proceeds in a friendly atmosphere from beginning to end in front of massive numbers of reporters and fans while he states his feelings about having left the army after being seen off by his successors, but Rain is on a sticky wicket due to a recent controversial incident. In other words, he is put in a delicate situation where he can’t do a thing.

If he greets the crowd with a laugh holding his head up in a situation where there’s a controversy about entertainment soldiers’ appearing to be slacking off, it may be thought a little odd, or if he apologizes with a humble bow shouldering the responsibility for the poor management of the entertainment solider system, it may also cause bitterness to him. If he holds it in private, he may be reported to have left the army without telling anybody.

On the 10th, he’ll be seen in public for the first time since he was beset by a controversy over his excessive dating actress Kim Tae-Hee earlier this year. Therefore, interest is on how he will make his expression.

Meanwhile, the inspection of the status of the management of entertainment soldier system will proceed by next week. It has been decided that Rain will be discharged from the army on the 10th as scheduled because it is considered that he didn’t make a big trouble after a military concert in Chuncheon city on the 21st of last month.

Our hearts go out to the poor, pitiful netizens wallowing in their own disappointment. But they’ve just got to face facts. The military can’t punish Rain if he kept his nose clean.

If he had screwed up at this late stage, they would have pretty much handed him his ass. Publicly.

Even after a bunch of blustering and posturing worthy of Kim JungUn, the news’ videos only showed footage of Rain walking down a doggone street, out of context. You would think they would have at least gotten him sitting at a table, taking a drink, on a phone, running around town with the other guys, or even coming OUT of the restaurant, something. The bias surrounding this matter is really obvious when it’s SOMEONE ELSE’S SCANDAL but all anyone wants to write about is RAIN and the 3 rides he got from his girlfriend out of 640-some-odd days served in the Infantry and DEMA. SEVEN months ago.

We would think they’d be relieved that he hadn’t stepped out of line! LOL!

Wanting someone punished just for the hell of it, not because they’re charged with something, makes netizens look like dumbkoffs with penis envy and no life. (Song HyeKyo would certainly agree.) We laugh at them. People who aren’t Rain fans laugh at them. They’ve so much as said so.

Now, let’s see what happens to Se7en, Sangchu, and the rest. Seeing as they all obviously had someone’s permission to go to dinner and wear what they did, and obviously regular soldiers across the board go to massage parlors and brothels all the time, we wouldn’t hazard a guess. The Army’s higher ups are on the hook but good this time, and they should be, rather than the soldiers. ^@@^

Rain To Be Discharged From The Army As Planned

Despite current investigations on PR agents, Rain will be discharged from the army as planned.

On July 4, the Ministry of National Defense stated that Rain will be discharged on July 10 as originally scheduled.

โ€œThe special investigation on the operation system of Defense Media Agency will continue into next week as there are still many things to confirm,โ€ stated the Ministry of National Defense.

โ€œWeโ€™ve come to the conclusion that Sergeant Jung (Rain) was not in the wrong for his actions on the day of the incident. He will be relieved of his duties on July 10.โ€

The Ministry of National Defense started a hardcore crackdown on PR agents after SBSโ€™ In Depth 21 revealed PR agents freely roaming around in casual wear and drinking alcohol after performing at an army concert. Se7en and Mighty Mouthโ€™s Sangchoo were also caught entering massage parlors.

Rain, who was present at the concert event, was seen heading back to the motel after eating dinner with his colleagues.

Yonhap News 7/4/2013 โ€” [English translation by ํ™”๋‹ˆ]

Rain to leave the army on the 10th as scheduled. The inspection of entertainment soldiers is extended.

The Defense Ministry judges Rain that he had no problem of his whereabouts on that day when entertainment soldiers were embroiled in controversy.

On the 4th, the Defense Ministry decided to prolong the special inspection of the operation status of entertainment soldiers by another week.

Defense Department Spokesman ‘Wui Yong-Seop’ (army colonel) said at a regular briefing today, “There is more yet to be confirmed, and therefore we have decided to extend the inspection because we’ll have to make sure that the soldiers and working-level officials of the Defense Media Agency have done their jobs right.

Continuing, “We’ve been investigating the allegations that the persons in charge have been entertained regarding the business affairs of military broadcasting ‘Consolatory Train’ run by the Defense Media Agency.” and “When the results of the inspection are in, the relevant soldiers will strictly be disciplined in accordance with law.”

Since the testimony of the relevant soldiers who held a drinking party and who visited a massage parlor and that of witnesses are not consistent, the special inspection team is known to have done lot of legwork in an effort to find an eyewitness regarding the soldiers’ whereabouts last 21st when the incident occurred.

In particular, it is known that Rain went back to the lodge after he arrived at the place and checked in, went to his room, unpacked, had dinner when a local concert featuring those soldiers including him ended after 9:00pm at that time.

An official from the Defense Ministry said, “We judge Rain that he had no problem of his whereabouts on that day. He’ll leave the army on the 10th as scheduled.”

It has been known that serious problems have surfaced as a result of the inspection of the status of the management and operation of the service support troop.

The Defense Ministry say that when they find there is a severe problem with the service support troop, the entertainment soldier system could be abolished.

My previous post HERE is NOT about anything being shared from Cloud USA. It also has nothing to do with any CloudUSAer.

You all can share, link, or reblog any of our posts or properly share anything that you like off of our media blog, Facebook, and Twitter. That is why we keep things so open here. Makes us really happy for you to pass things on from Cloud USA, so that other fans can find Rain and connect with him and fans like themselves.

No Rain fan should ever be out there all alone with no one to talk to.

That post concerns the official Korean Cloud site only.

We try to be careful with what we post, so you donโ€™t have to worry about what youโ€™re sharing here. Just have at!

Thanks, all. ^@@^

[add’l remarks][movie review] R2B Return to Base: A message of hope?

•July 3, 2013 • 3 Comments

โ€”ย Written by:ย Stephe Thornton @Cloud USA.org

ยป My previous post and movie review Breaking it down: R2B Return to Base at the AMC Colonial 18 inย Atlantaย is HERE.

It’s been a almost year since R2B: Return to Base (or Soar Into The Sun, or Return To Base, or Aigle Noir, or R2B: Powrรณt do bazy, orย Black Eagle, etc. depending on where you live) first premiered on its home turf in South Korea, last August 2012, and zipped around the world from there. It’s also been a while since I watched it, and with it being a nice lazy Tuesday night, I was in the mood for a good action flick and the movie beckoned.

As I got into the final missions and the moments where South Korean and U.S.A. brass were verbally sparring, it suddenly dawned on me that of all the messages that came out of this film, the one thing that I’ve seen no one out there mention is that it carries a message of hope. Hope for the future.

South Korea and North Korea came together and cooperated with each other against a common foe. North Korea gave the South complete permission to come right across the Demilitarized Zone, get their lost man, and dump an open can of whoop ass on the Northern rebels, which included destroying all the planes and Northern technology that the rebels had amassed. South Korea was like, Sure thing, we’ll be right on over to kill ’em and blow yourโ€”ahem, their stuff up for you. No problem!ย Do you know how unlikely that is to happen? With the way Kim JongUn postured, spewed a lot of useless hot air, and showed his ass the first five months of this year, you should.

In the real world, in my opinion, the South and the North would have been trying neutralize the threat to themselves, but separately. Cooperation? Bah. As far as I’m concerned, the North would have wanted to reclaim the rebel base for their own use, not to mention the South’s lost man, though it wasn’t the South’s fault that their man was there. They would have denied the South any satisfaction over the wrong done to them because that’s just how they roll on the Haterade Train. They sure as heck would have waited to see if the rebels could make a dent in the U.S. with that warhead before moving in on them at all (a move that the U.S. would have nipped in the bud with a quickness). Talk about a hot mess on the Korean peninsula.

But in the film, both sides communicated off screen, probably yelled back and forth quite a bit, but agreed to let the South take care of business while the North cooled its jets.

The South also stood up for itself to the U.S. brass when it came to being the one to not only get satisfaction for their country, but save the U.S.A. from the Northern warhead. What’s the real message there? Yeah, you’re the Big Dog in The Yard, but we can save the world too. Stand back.

In my initial review, I was of a mind that just as Director Shin SangOk kept the Northern enemy nebulous for the most part in Red Muffler (or Red Scarf, 1964), Director Kim DongWon seemed to follow the same tact withย R2B, as if trying not to exacerbate the dangerous armistice between both halves of the peninsula while entertaining South Koreans with their first aerial combat film. But what if it went deeper than that for Director Kim? What if him making rebels the bad guys rather than the Northern regime outright, and the cooperation between North, South, and U.S., was his way of trying to get people to see how things should be, and toย think? And have hope, and strive for that?

R2B was made to mark the 60th anniversary of the END of the Korean War, after all.

Just some food for thought. Thanks for letting me share it with you.

From Stephe’s desk: Mum’s the word.

mums-the-word1

Okay, Cloud sisters and Rain fans. I’m not your mama, but apparently this still needs to be said.

By now, the main information about Rain’s discharge (date, time, location, etc.) is already known by everyone who needs to know. Please do NOT post further fan club information and specific details for fans on the Korean CLOUD up on the Internet for the Media to hunt down and use for their own agenda. Pass fresh information on by word of mouth, email, private messages, or the like instead, which is pretty simple to do these days, until this next week and a half are over.

Posting such things only give certain news organizations and anti-fans what they are looking for. When it is so obvious that they are trying to start another Rain witch huntโ€”even with no footage of Rain but him walking down the street during someone else’s scandal, I might add, LOLโ€”why would you do that?

It’s not that we have anything to hide. It’s just that people out there can be unbelievably nefarious.

Let’s use some common sense, and be more careful.

My advice: Mum’s the word. ^@@^
