Rain’s first visit to the Inkigayo stage with It’s Raining was a ‘Hello, it’s nice to meet you, I’m Rain and here is my new single.’
His second was, ‘Hey, I’m back with my new single, it’s good and I’m cute, too.’
The third was, ‘Yo, I’m Rain, I’m a badass and oh yeah, here’s my new single.’ With the fourth and final visit with It’s Raining in 2004, he is by the book. He comes full circle with this performance, and with the choreography tight, and vocals spot on, he basically says, ‘This is my song and this is how I do it.’
However, I caught Ji Hoon coming out to play for just a second. Just a mere second at around the 2:06 mark when he flashes a quick peace sign and that infectious smile. It was quick – very quick – but I managed to catch a shot of it. It’s not a very clear shot because the man is fast. And….the man is so cute. ♥
So very cute!!
Even more endearing is the fact that sometimes he himself cannot contain and put a cap on the cute. He does have lots of cute. I am happy and grateful he shows us that side (and often) even in aggressively intense performances such as It’s Raining.
I think Rain has a few signature songs that will always be the ones that define him over and over. Much like we associate Jailhouse Rock with Elvis Presley and Thriller (and entire host of others) with Michael Jackson, It’s Raining will always be one that defines Rain, and defines him well.
I would hope that he if read that statement, he would agree and give us that shy smile of approval. I also hope that he would take comfort in knowing that his star is shining as bright and luminescent as both Elvis’ and Michael’s. In fact, it is burning brighter than ever and reigniting over and over.
Michele @CloudUSA.wordpress.com/CloudUSA.org
P.S. Many reporters and people in the industry have said that this was the album that made them all realize Rain wasn’t just another singer marketed by JYP, but a force to be reckoned with and genuine talent that was here to stay. It’s Raining has also been named one of the top ten K-Pop songs of all time, over and over again.

Mixed martial arts champion Choo SungHoon (a.k.a Yoshihiro Akiyama professionally, he is of Korean and Japanese blood) posted on his Ultimate Fighting Championship blog in Japan the picture BELOW ↓ of himself and Rain on the day they filmed for Superman Is Back.
The gist of his post, which he blogged in Japanese, was about how he and his “lil’ brother” hadn’t seen each other for a long time (he called Rain his 동생 [dongsaeng] in Korean and also in Japanese, 弟分[otōtobun, friend treated as a younger brother] ♥) and hopefully it wouldn’t be another three years before they met again, and that Rain’s new song (“Saranghae”) is out, and possibly something about wanting to do a dance when Rain posted from his iPhone, haha.
Thanks for sharing, SungHoon/Yoshihiro. 🙂

Rain & Cloud Forest plaque in Mongolia. 2000 trees were donated by Chinese and global Clouds and planted by local farmers in one of the worst areas of erosion in 2011.
Please see the notice below posted by Oluperigelin @The Cloud, head of the Turkish Clouds.
As you recall, our Turkish sisters donated a music class and library to students in their country for Rain’s 11th career anniversary and donated to a local orphanage in honor of his birthday and Army discharge last year.
Currently, our Turkish sisters have enough for 745 trees, which means they are slowly but surely moving toward the 2000 trees that are needed for the new forest they hope to plant in Rain’s name, with their government’s help. One tree costs ₺ 5. (5 Turkish Lira), which is currently $2.25 to $2.50 USD, depending on what the currency exchange rate is for the day. (That’s right—only two bucks and a quarter!)
They were greatly inspired by the 2011 project by the Chinese Clouds, when our Chinese sisters donated a 2000-tree forest to a village in Mongolia in the name of Ambassador Rain‘s campaign to stop the effects of desertification and deadly soil erosion in that area.
Terri and I will be sending a donation on behalf of the Cloud USA community shortly, but those who are able to, please feel free to donate individually if you so desire.
Please contact Oluperigelin on their Facebook or on their Twitter for more information. Thanks, all! 🙂

Hello!^^ I’m the head of Turkish Clouds Fanclub. I’m not so sure that everyone know or not. We opened “Rain Music Class” last year as a present for 11th debut anniversary. Now, we started another charity project. But this time, it is more different and more bigger than before. And without global clouds help, we can’t do it alone.
We are donating trees and open our RAIN MEMORIAL FOREST in Balıkesir,Turkey!
This will be our gift for Rain. And it will be in the memory of his passed mother who died a long time ago. We want to do something meaningful and helpful. This came to our mind.
In Turkey, we have an organization called TEMA (The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats). You can check whole the information from their website: http://www.tema.org.tr/
They arrange all the charity and donation projects with the government. If someone wants to donate tree or donate memorial forest, they contact with that organization and give donations.
We did so. We contact them through e-mail. They will start new planting forest in autumn. It will be in Balıkesir (city of Turkey). The planting area name: “Balıkesir Kepsut Projesi.”
I contacted with the TEMA through e-mail about on-going projects. And she told me about this one. According to what the representative said, it is around 350,000 tree area. She said that a minimum of 2000 trees is necessary to give the name and table in the forest. But if we donate under 2000 trees, they will just give the certificate. The total cost for 2000 trees will be ₺ 10.000 TL (Turkish Lira), which is around $5,000. USD.
This project will continue until we have enough for the 2000 trees. You can donate through Paypal or bank account transfer. We will write every country’s name in the sign that we will put in our forest.
And we say: Rain for world!
…because world needs more Rain.
Donation method: If you want to participate you can send your donations via Paypal or bank account. I can give you account numbers by PM (private message).

VERY glad to see it there!
When I heard “사랑해” (Saranghae, “I Love You”), it immediately took me back to the day and Boys II Men, “I’ll Make Love to You” in particular. CloudUSAer BiAlamode found that it took her back to Celine Dion’s “I Love You”, and Cloud USA commenter Suhe thinks that it’s definitely for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday next week. ♥
One thing for sure, “사랑해” is a great song for relaxing by the fire with your favorite warm beverage and chilling out, or for snuggling with that special someone.
Thank you, Rain, for this wonderfully soothing song. Your comeback was very well done, and we Clouds are so proud of you.^^
What throwback songs does it remind you of, fans?

Bitter reality behind hilarious dance
[EXCERPT]
Asked to point out a K-pop singer who excels in terms of dancing, [Lee JuSun] mentioned Rain, or Jung Ji-hoon, without hesitation. “Rain is proven to be a talented singer and dancer in many ways,” he said.
The choreographer is a firm believer of the maxim, “Practice makes perfect.”
“No matter how talented you are at dance, you cannot beat those who practice hard,” he noted. “I think this can be applied to everything in life.”

Wow, it has been a while, hasn’t it? The last time we saw Rain suddenly show up on the streets of Seoul for a surprise “guerrilla” date on KBS YunYeGaJunGye was back in late December 2010, during a lunar eclipse and before his appearance at the JYP Nation Teamplay concert on Christmas Eve and Rain’s own ADIEU!2010 With Rain concerts on New Year’s Eve. Three years ago, my goodness.
Reporter Il HwanShim posted two images of himself and Rain yesterday—one from the time of the 2010 interview, and one from the new interview on 2/6/2014. Cool.^^

I’m not 100% sure of what Rain’s tweet or sign says (it’s too complex for me as a student), but I can get the gist of it. The word inside the “cloud” there is the name of his new song released on sound source sites today, 사랑해 (saranghae, “I Love You”). He also says he’s now in Japan (for his official fan meeting in Yokohama), and something about hoping we enjoy the new song and love him a lot, and something about the song being made with difficulty, or trouble, or suffering. If a translation becomes available, I’ll post it here. 🙂 ^@@^

Oh indeed…that red vest brought some fierce swag with it to the Inkigayo stage for Rain’s 3rd third installment of It’s Raining.
I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates his look during these performances – the patchwork vest (no shirt), the gloves, the long hair, the hat, the leathered-up pants, the huge belt buckle, and the medallion necklace that moves as fluidly as he does through the choreography. Sizzling.
Even amid some of the more animated and vocal fanchants here, the one thing Ji Hoon did not give to the fans in this performance was his signature smile. The cute was not at all what this performance was about. This performance was a full on assault. As he allows the music to take over his senses and his body, he relays that back at us with fierce intensity. What I have learned in watching Rain perform is that intensity pours out of him with such force, there is no way to avoid it, stop it, or cap it.
When my heart beats as if it’s gonna burst,
Little by little I’m… (ssss, ahhh, ssss, ahhh)
I can feel the blood in my body getting hotter. (ssss, ahhh, ssss, ahhh)
When I close my eyes as the music rises,
In my ear there’s… (Rain. Go, Rain. It’s Raining. It’s Raining.)
When an unbearable thrill explodes in my body,
In my ear there’s… (Rain. Go, Rain. It’s Raining. It’s Raining.)
This is what it must feel like when you are living your passion. At any moment, it is ready to explode through and from you. To experience such must be a heady combination of both agony and ecstasy. Much like love, right? Is the ‘ssss, ahhh, ssss, ahhh’ the burning fuse to the inner grenade that clearly detonates during this song?
I really appreciate Rain’s early decision to live so honest and raw right before our eyes. And I love this provocative song that unleashes the sexy badass in him every time, every time.

Rain and his Fabulous Crew sporting BOY LONDON Ltd. wear. As I understand it, this brand was started a long time ago for a lark in London, back in the 70s, but caught on like wildfire with teens and huge Pop stars in the 80s like Boy George and the Pet Shop Boys, and blew up into the popular brand it still is today. BOY LONDON Korea hit the scene a while after that, and by the looks of things, a lot of K-celebs (and world celebs) are digging it. ^@@^

Clouds,
Here are the event details for the March 15th CLOUDBURST get-together in Atlanta (Duluth) Georgia:
We have made dinner reservations for the group at the Myung Ga Won restaurant at: 1960 Day Drive, Ste 100, Duluth, GA 30096, for 7:00 PM, on Saturday, March 15, 2014.
They have lots of space there and they are open 24 hours. The restaurant is known for its Korean BBQ.
We have also set up a group reservation for Cloud USA at the Holiday Inn Express in Duluth. The hotel is located at: 3670 Shackleford Rd, Duluth GA, 30096.
To make reservations, call 1-888-465-4329 and give them the organization name (Cloud USA) and our group code (EG2). Your room(s) must be reserved and PAID for in ADVANCE by February 22.
Rates: 1 king bed = $79.90 per night. 2 double beds = $84.15 per night. This is a small price break, which is good, but it also ensures that they will hold these rooms for the group until February 23rd.
However, we’ve only held 12 rooms (6 with 2 double beds and 6 with king-sized beds) initially, because we didn’t really know how many of you would actually want to stay together in the same hotel.
Please do let me (Terri) or Alicia (@lee24_ans on Twitter) know if you make a reservation at the hotel, so that we can keep track of how many rooms are left and can add more if necessary.
Many thanks to Alicia in Savannah for helping me set up these group reservations. ♥

Can you think of anyone in K-popdom or otherwise who navigates with such ease between cute, badass and sexy like Rain? Yeah, me neither. When he returned to the Inkigayo stage with It’s Raining for a second week on November 7, 2004, he tore into the opening with a vengeance. His moves are always crisp and tight, but here he was simply razor-sharp.
What week #2 had a little more of than week #1 was the cute factor. There was lots of cute going on here. And it was clearly vying for position over badass. Then there was sexy. Throw in some more cute. Three cups more badass. Another dash of sexy. Level it off with cute. Mix it all together and that is your recipe for Rain! He really has perfected that recipe, hasn’t he?
It’s Raining has some truly vigorous choreography and the Inkigayo stage received 4 visits of it in late 2004 alone. Ah-mazing!
I think 2004 could easily rate as an iconic year for the young star and It’s Raining, one of his true iconic songs. It never gets old and is without question a fan favorite.

Please enjoy these quotes about Rain that were recently made by 신천지 (Shin CheonJi), the Mnet producer/director responsible for filming Rain’s reality TV show “Rain Effect”, which aired from 12/19/2013 through 1/23/2014 on Mnet Korea and Mnet Japan.
Shin admits that she was not a fan of Rain’s at the beginning of the show, but did indeed become a fan by the end of it. I have to say we’re not surprised by that in the least because PD Shin isn’t the first person that has happened to, not by a long shot. Pardon the pun, but Rain has that effect on folks and always has, even on people who don’t like him. They experience the real Jung JiHoon instead of the lies that the Korean Media has been shoving down their throats for God knows how many years, and WHAMMO. They’re like, “Oh… okay… wow.”
Welcome to the Rainiverse, PD Shin. 🙂

“The only thing that we could do was to follow him around and just throw that on TV unedited. That in itself was a challenge, because Rain is really boring in person. Not his personality, of course. It’s his work – he’s just working constantly. He doesn’t drink much or play games. He just practices, broadcasts, and then goes home. It was so repetitive that we really needed to work on our editing to make it semi-interesting.”
“Rain’s popularity may be higher internationally. Many people were smothering us to the point of shadowing him with a camera difficult. Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA… there wasn’t a single location where people didn’t recognize him to be a star.”
“There was one segment by one of his friends that didn’t make it onto the show where his friend called him a ’12-year old kid stuck in a man’s body’. That’s the Rain that I hope people see and love. He’s not a diva, and he certainly doesn’t want to be treated as one.”
“Rain, Rain’s manager, and I were going to Korea while our filming crew decided to stay in the US for additional filming. We were stranded at Atlanta for about 10 hours on the connecting flight to LAX. I know that he was tired because he didn’t get a chance to sleep at all while filming, so I expected him to enter the VIP lounge and take a nap. It was a place that I didn’t have the privilege to enter, so I decided to stick it out outside. Rain didn’t enter the VIP lounge at all but stayed with me for the entire 10 hours. There were no cameras filming him. He did it because he genuinely cared about me, even though I’m really a nobody to him. That’s when I really became his fan.”

After concluding his promotional activities for his sixth album, singer and actor Rain headed to Hollywood for the filming of the new film “The Prince.”
On January 28, Rain posted a photo he took with 50 Cent on his Twitter with the caption, “After Bijinah, this time with 50 Cent hyung. GOGO.”
In the photo, Rain and 50 Cent are in a friendly pose looking very sharp dressed in suits.
On January 26, Rain held a collaboration stage with singer Tae Jin Ah on SBS’ “Inkigayo” and performed “La Song” together. Immediately after, Rain left for Hollywood to film “The Prince,” which is due for release at the end of this year.
“The Prince” is an action film about a retired Las Vegas gang leader forced to face against his enemies again after his daughter gets kidnapped. It will be directed by Brian Miller and will star Bruce Willis, John Cusack, and 50 Cent.

Hello, I’m home. ( ´ ▽ ` )
I missed Rain’s high-five, but some miracles happened to me this time!
He came down to the audience and walked around the seats at the end of the fan meeting, and I could see him from about 2 meters away! And surprisingly, my friend and I could watch the details of Rain’s high-fives with the lucky fans from first row!! Furthermore, I was surprised that he took a commemorative photo for all people who were watching the high-fives!!! o(^▽^)o I’m really looking forward to uploading it and it’ll be my treasure.
1000 CDs were sold and I heard that winners who got to do a high five with him were about 300 people. But… if my counting is not wrong, winners of high-touch were 308, including 4 children. I was planning to take a picture from the front row, but taking pictures was prohibited. I’m very sorry about not having a picture to share.
Several days ago, I knew by Tammy’s message that she also was going to the fan meeting. We both expected each other to meet at the venue, but we happened to stay in a same hotel. And we saw each other in the lobby after check-in.
This event was a full of small miracles for me. Rain’s face was small and fair and had a relaxed look from the beginning to the end of the event.
