Rain & Cloud Forest plaque in Mongolia. 2000 trees were donated by Chinese and global Clouds and planted by local farmers in one of the worst areas of erosion in 2011.
Please see the notice below posted by Oluperigelin @The Cloud, head of the Turkish Clouds.
As you recall, our Turkish sisters donated a music class and library to students in their country for Rain’s 11th career anniversary and donated to a local orphanage in honor of his birthday and Army discharge last year.
Currently, our Turkish sisters have enough for 745 trees, which means they are slowly but surely moving toward the 2000 trees that are needed for the new forest they hope to plant in Rain’s name, with their government’s help. One tree costs ₺ 5. (5 Turkish Lira), which is currently $2.25 to $2.50 USD, depending on what the currency exchange rate is for the day. (That’s right—only two bucks and a quarter!)
They were greatly inspired by the 2011 project by the Chinese Clouds, when our Chinese sisters donated a 2000-tree forest to a village in Mongolia in the name of Ambassador Rain‘s campaign to stop the effects of desertification and deadly soil erosion in that area.
Terri and I will be sending a donation on behalf of the Cloud USA community shortly, but those who are able to, please feel free to donate individually if you so desire.
Please contact Oluperigelin on their Facebook or on their Twitter for more information. Thanks, all! 🙂

Hello!^^ I’m the head of Turkish Clouds Fanclub. I’m not so sure that everyone know or not. We opened “Rain Music Class” last year as a present for 11th debut anniversary. Now, we started another charity project. But this time, it is more different and more bigger than before. And without global clouds help, we can’t do it alone.
We are donating trees and open our RAIN MEMORIAL FOREST in Balıkesir,Turkey!
This will be our gift for Rain. And it will be in the memory of his passed mother who died a long time ago. We want to do something meaningful and helpful. This came to our mind.
In Turkey, we have an organization called TEMA (The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats). You can check whole the information from their website: http://www.tema.org.tr/
They arrange all the charity and donation projects with the government. If someone wants to donate tree or donate memorial forest, they contact with that organization and give donations.
We did so. We contact them through e-mail. They will start new planting forest in autumn. It will be in Balıkesir (city of Turkey). The planting area name: “Balıkesir Kepsut Projesi.”
I contacted with the TEMA through e-mail about on-going projects. And she told me about this one. According to what the representative said, it is around 350,000 tree area. She said that a minimum of 2000 trees is necessary to give the name and table in the forest. But if we donate under 2000 trees, they will just give the certificate. The total cost for 2000 trees will be ₺ 10.000 TL (Turkish Lira), which is around $5,000. USD.
This project will continue until we have enough for the 2000 trees. You can donate through Paypal or bank account transfer. We will write every country’s name in the sign that we will put in our forest.
And we say: Rain for world!
…because world needs more Rain.
Donation method: If you want to participate you can send your donations via Paypal or bank account. I can give you account numbers by PM (private message).

Hello, I’m home. ( ´ ▽ ` )
I missed Rain’s high-five, but some miracles happened to me this time!
He came down to the audience and walked around the seats at the end of the fan meeting, and I could see him from about 2 meters away! And surprisingly, my friend and I could watch the details of Rain’s high-fives with the lucky fans from first row!! Furthermore, I was surprised that he took a commemorative photo for all people who were watching the high-fives!!! o(^▽^)o I’m really looking forward to uploading it and it’ll be my treasure.
1000 CDs were sold and I heard that winners who got to do a high five with him were about 300 people. But… if my counting is not wrong, winners of high-touch were 308, including 4 children. I was planning to take a picture from the front row, but taking pictures was prohibited. I’m very sorry about not having a picture to share.
Several days ago, I knew by Tammy’s message that she also was going to the fan meeting. We both expected each other to meet at the venue, but we happened to stay in a same hotel. And we saw each other in the lobby after check-in.
This event was a full of small miracles for me. Rain’s face was small and fair and had a relaxed look from the beginning to the end of the event.
