In my talks with this guy (Rain) whenever time allows from the shoot abroad, for a long time I’ve discovered he is a genuine person who has a really bright personality. As a matter of fact, I’m a little astonished at how well he is doing. In some ways, I can probably describe him as a person who has enjoyed many things and experienced much since his early age.
When people get what they want, they feel still more blue and act rashly, but he has great dedication to his work under God and is caring although he is also exhausted and feels like a rag.
I can’t help but to take my hat off to this guy who is a lot younger than I am, for the way he does.
I think if there is a true professional, he is the one, when I see him working on in silence even in his recent much-troubled, scandalous status.
As for me who have often watched entertainers being dragged into many scandals regardless of their wills, I think he [can surely make it] through this trial. I’ve decided to watch this guy who is a man of great charm and has a passion for his career.
Seeing this guy who has an aura of greatness [even] after such a long time, I’m sure he [will] do a great job, relying on his own judgment and dispassionate view of the situation, even in this tumultuous field.

Word on the street: Rain’s military enlistment postponed?
•September 2, 2010 • 17 CommentsAsian source Yonhap News reported in its pages today that the Military Manpower Administration has announced that, due to his schooling and upcoming film [after his drama?], etc., Rain won’t have to report for active duty until early next year.
An MMA official made a statement that yes, Rain had submitted a request for an extension to his September 29th reporting date, and seeing as there was no real reason not to grant it with all the factors involved, that his request is being accepted and his service postponed.
[We paused for a moment upon reading this. This official’s actual statement was translated to say, “Since there is no reason why we should disapprove the proposal for the postponement, I think it’s been permitted.” However, seeing as in our experience, Korean-to-English conversion doesn’t always match exactly when it comes to past/present verb tense, we feel that he could just be speaking in a casual tone, the same way we use Sure, I think so in the States even when we know something has already come to pass.]
And in related news, the Defense Ministry’s PR department has plans itself for a large-scale movie, which Rain and other enlisted K-celebs will all take part in. The PR department’s manager is quoted as saying, “We plan to schedule the movie production at that point [when] Rain enters the army, but our movie is still in its conceptual stage and the details of the scenario have not yet [been] completed.”
(Thanks to rain bird and Rain Europe for this information.)
Well, fans, what do you think of that? Hopefully now some of you will relax a little and not be filled with so much depressing Doom & Gloom. We’re hoping to see something more official from J.Tune, but at the moment this Word on the Street feels awfully good.
Now do you see why I was posting those things about K-celebs serving their country and still staying in touch with their entertainment roots? The military would have to be crazy not to be chomping at the bit about having Rain’s talent at their disposal. Here’s your proof that they’re practically salivating over it already, as we speak. He won’t be completely deprived of what he loves to do best while he’s enlisted, folks. And he’s going to come back a lean, mean, fighting machine bursting with even more ideas and plans for all of us, his fans. Thirty isn’t old, nowhere near. Our best years with Rain are yet to come.
Let’s thoroughly enjoy the extra time we’ve been given with Ji-Hoon. And let’s concentrate on being a positive, supportive fan base for him, rather than dwelling on negatives that can’t be helped, when his time approaches in 2011.
