The first thing Rain said during his last concert in Seoul was, “I can’t seem to color my hair.”
Rain scheduled to enter the army upcoming October 11th, expressed his feelings during his last concert at the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul’s Olympic Park at 5:00pm on the 24th.
The prelude to his last concert before his military service was no other than World Star, and never cracked and was dynamite as if he called up his last reserves of strength..
Rain appeared on stage, livening up the mood through his opening song ‘Hip Song’, the powerfulness of which is very impressive, and sang three consecutive songs. After singing, his face was filled with playfulness, as usual.
He drew big rounds of applause from large audiences when he said, “I’ve currently toured in several cities, but you are the lowest when you scream.” And, he showed great tact in dealing with them, trying to throw them the towel he wiped the sweat off his face with.
When a ballad music played in the background, he attached a meaning of his own to his last concert, saying, “Thank you all for coming to my concert.. This show is different from the old ones.”
He said something very significant, “I was going to show you my dyed hair, but I can’t seem to color my hair.” which stimulated the tear glands of female fans. Then he changed the entire atmosphere soon, saying “Do you know why? Because my hair is so precious.”
But soon he marked the start of the real show with a smiling face, “This show will go by songs. Are you ready?.. I want you to have a wonderful time with me.”
At his concert, there were lots of top stars such as actor ‘Lee Bum Soo’, ‘Jung Seok Won’ and singer MBLAQ, A Pink and more, including ‘Lee Mi Kyung’ who is Vice President of CJ E&M.
Before this, Rain brought a news he would enter the army via his homepage. In the message, he said, “I’m not sure which unit I would be in as an active-duty soldier, but the date for when I should enter the army, has been confirmed.”
“Without quite realizing it, itโs almost ten years since I debuted..I’ve been loved by you and seem to have packed a lot into my life..I think I was able to be happy with honors thick upon one in all my sweat and blood.” And he made resolutions, “I’ll return with a more mature attitude.”
Meanwhile, the next day’s show will bring him to the end of his schedule. After that, he’ll be on the active list, being called into 306 replacement depot in Eujungbu, Kyungki-do region, on October 11th.

Rain, “I’ll pay my respects to my late mother before entering the army.”
Rain scheduled to enter the army on October 11th, was interviewed with Sports Donga on the afternoon of the 23rd.
– How do you feel before entering the army?
Rain : Korean under obligation to protect the country, young men must go to army.
I’ll serve in the army with complete loyalty.
– What will you do with yourself until you enter the army?
Rain : Actually, I have a heap of work to do..It might take a while even to arrange the work of my past years..
For now, I should get the job involving the ‘Flight : Close to The Sun’ shooting done..I still have some post synchronizations to be done even if filming has been completed…There will be a lot of advance publicity for the new film, but I don’t have much time.
I’m also working on my next album as a small gift for my fans.
– There was even a rumour you were going to join the air force.
Rain : There is no reason why I’m trying to be on the active list in the army..
I just want to serve in the army ordinarily.
– What do you want to do privately?
Rain : I’ll visit my late mother’s grave and pay my respects to her.
– What are your plans after leaving the army?
Rain : I am being offered a lot of roles from Hollywood..Many works in Hollywood I put off will be talked about after serving in the army.

I’ve seen many performances of “Nan”, so many that there is no way I could ever count them, all outstanding, some that have stood out from others. In my humble opinion, this is one “Nan” performance that will go down in the history books as pretty darned unique.
Not only did the person tossing the towel fall short (with Rain missing it as a result, something I’ve never seen before), I couldn’t have cared less about that because Rain made up for it… in so many delicious ways.
Heavens. The Man was trying his best to short-circuit my computer monitor and my brain.
In less than three hours from this post, Korea time, Rain’s final Best Korea tour stop in Seoul will begin, so let’s quickly take a look back at some of our favorite imagery from Best Gwangju. Enjoy. ๐

The time that we all knew was coming a year and a half ago is now upon us. Rain has released his enlistment date as October 11th on his official site. He says that he just got confirmation himself this morning.
It’s all rightโyou all can cry if you need to. I won’t scold you. My own stomach feels like a burning lump right now. But it’s going to be okay. He’s going to fine, he won’t disappear, we’ll still have fun, and we’ll be planning his Coming Home Shindig before you know it, so start chilling the champagne!
I was just telling Terri tonight that I wished he would go ahead and tell the date as soon as he knew it and put everyone out of their misery, so that we could all move forward with him. And he up and does it. Thank you, JiHoon dear! We really appreciate it. โฅ *sigh*

With this being the last RAIN The Best Show 2011 Korea Tour stop, and possibly Rain’s last hoorah before his military service, we didn’t want to let the moment go by without a show of support for him from our side of the ocean.
So, we’ve arranged for a congratulatory concert banner from our Cloud USA community to hang inside Rain’s Seoul concert venue with others from sister fan sites and The Cloud.
To all U.S. Clouds and Cloud USA friends: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be on the lookout for the banner and grab some nice pictures of it for us. Pretty please? You shouldn’t have to look hard, because the thing is MASSIVE. All of them are. We’re not kidding. ๐
Rejoice, CUSA community! Though only a few of us could be in Korea with Rain this weekend, the rest of us will be nicely represented there. Not only thatโall the banners together will again let the Media know that Rain’s world star title is truth, and put a big ol’ grin on his face.

In anticipation of the “Seoul Woman” version coming up this weekend, let’s take a fresh, quick look at the most recent rendition of Rain’s “Busan Woman”, from Best Daejeon. You can tell by the way he encourages the fans to put in their city that the song is dear to him.
Every now and then, I’ll catch something he says, and I do believe he asked fans at minute markers 0:11 and 0:30 (a quite a few more times, actually LOL) “์ด๋์?” Eodiyo? “Where am I?”
And of course they answered, “Daejeon!” every time he’d question them. ๐
At 2:21, you guessed right if you thought he was asking the fans to “์์ผ์ธ์, ์์ผ์ธ์.” Anjeuseyo, anjeuseyo. “Sit down, sit down.”

Well, fans, the RAIN The Best Show 2011 Korea Tour is down to the wire, with its final stop at Seoul Olympic Park Stadium this Saturday and Sunday. You know JiHoon well by now, so there’s no telling exactly what might happen. Heheh. I advice everyone who’s going, including the U.S. Clouds who will be making the long trek there, to hold on to your hats because it’s going to be a hot time in the old town both nights! (Don’t say you weren’t warned.^^)
Because the Seoul concerts are coming up so fast, the time we have to raise money for The World Cloud and Good Neighbor Charity Project is very short, so please don’t delay. Please follow Rain’s lead and give what you can to this very worthy cause.
FYI: There may be news coming from Rain this Saturday concerning his final big project before his military service, so stay tuned. See you all later in the week! ๐

Please enjoy this vintage article published by the Dong-A Ilbo in anticipation of Rain’s appearance in KBS drama A Love To Kill (I Jukilnomui Sarang), with actress Shin Mina, back in late 2005. Rain was getting ready to unleash Kang BokGu’s beast on TV screens across Korea in a role unlike any he’d ever played before. He had already made quite a name for himself, but this character would truly show his acting range and catapult him to the next level.

From Singer to Combat Sports Fighter, an Actor Is Born
He is a man who has nothing but his own flesh and bone. He is a man to whom women swear to give their lives. He is a combat sports fighter who has never won a single match. He is Gang Bok-gu, the protagonist of the new drama โThis Cursed Loveโ (Korean title: โIjugilnomui Sarangโ), which will debut on KBS2 at 9:55 p.m. on October 31.
But there is another man behind the role: A man who auditioned a dozen times to become a singer, but was turned down each time because of his looks; A man whose dream was to get an award for best new artist and dedicate it to his mother. That man is Rain, the singer.
He is also Jung Ji-hoon, the actor who plays the ill-fated Gang Bok-gu in โThis Cursed Love.โ
The new drama is written by Lee Gyeong-hi, who wrote one of last seasonโs biggest hits, โIโm Sorry, I Love You,โ and is directed by rising star Kim Gyu-tae. Jung Ji-hoon and Shin Min-ah star as the main love interests.
Man Gang Bok-gu Has Been Hurt by Loveโ
An innocent woman loves a man then leaves him. Because of her, the man becomes a human vegetable, and the manโs brother swears revenge. But the brother ends up falling in love with the woman. Itโs not an unfamiliar story for audiences of television dramas.
But the protagonist Gang Bok-gu is an unfamiliar character. The strongly-worded title seems to refer not to love but to the character. His pastime is extorting money from students. He is a combat sports fighter, a line of work thatโs becoming quite popular lately, but he is an arrogant man who loses all his matches on purpose because he doesnโt like being singled out as a winner.
In the first episode, a woman stands on the railing of a bridge and cries that she will come down if he tells her that he loves her just once. Gang doesnโt think twice before saying, โGo ahead and jump.โ
Protagonists are usually portrayed as having a good heart even when their actions appear otherwise, but Gang steers clear of this trite convention. When he falls in love with his brotherโs ex-girlfriend, Cha Eun-seok, he becomes someone he canโt accept. Thatโs why Jung Ji-hoon describes his character as โa man who learns his lesson after turning his nose up at love.โ He says he is โglad to be able to play such a vile person.โ
Man Jung Ji-hoon Has Become Crazy about Actingโ
There was a time when he would wait around the house all day and suddenly ask himself, โWhat on earth am I doing?โ But nowadays, heโs so busy that he doesnโt have a moment to rest. He is Rain, the singer, and Jung Ji-hoon, the actor. After returning from his Beijing tour on October 22, he is devoting himself to the show. When the showโs over, he will hit the road again on another tour.
In preparation for his fighting scenes, he did 2,000 reps a day with a jump rope for two months. He sculpted his physique with chicken in the morning and mackerel in the evening. He got injured during filming countless times. But he still confesses that he finds it more difficult to do the emotional scenes than action sequences. โSinging and dancing can be mastered through practice, but you canโt learn emotions,โ he notes, and explains that he tries to feel the character with his heart rather than understanding them with his head.
Jung Ji-hoon made his acting debut with โLetโs Go to School, Sangduโ on KBS2 and began to enter the spotlight in KBS2โs โFull House.โ In this, his third drama, audiences are hoping that he will shed the reputation of being a โsinger-actor.โ
The showโs writer, Lee Gyeong-hi, praises him as a โgem of an actor.โ His female lead, Shin Min-ah, also commented that he โimmerses himself to the point where you forget that heโs a singer.โ
When asked what kind of character he wants to play the most in future, he replies, โGang Bok-gu.โ Thatโs how deep into his character he has fallen. โAudiences will invest just one hour of their lives and experience a love that rarely comes even once in a lifetime,โ he says confidently.

{*Edited to Add: We’ve found out since this post that Rain actually has two dogs, and it was the other dog who was probably romancing his wallet, not poor innocent Janggoonie. LOL! ^@@^}
That’s the way I see it, anyway. Lordy, what all could Janggoonie have done to that wallet with it smelling like dog-house? Heavens! ๐ At least the stuff in it is still intact. Thank your lucky stars, JiHoon!
And congratulations, Boys! Once you go BLAQ, you never go back. (You really should put that on some T-shirts.) ๐
