Rain will be making his way to Hollywood again.
January 15’s broadcast of OBS’s Entertainment News showed an interview with Rain who said, “It’s been about two weeks since I released a new album, but I have to head to the States to meet with production company for a new movie.
Rain said, “It’s not set yet, but I will be heading over sometime during next week. I will have more to tell when I come back, but I’ll have to skip a week of performances in music programs.”
“There are two movies that I′ve been talking with and I will be meeting with the producers to have interviews as well. I think I will have news when I come back,” he added.
Rain recently filmed Hollywood’s The Prince alongside Bruce Willis, John Cusack, and more. He also played the lead role in Ninja Assassin in 2009.
Meanwhile, Rain released his sixth album Rain Effect on January 6.

Singer Rain is looking at scripts for TV dramas.
Recently, Rain told Donga.com, “I’ve been performing as both a singer and actor, traveling between Korea and Hollywood, but I, on the other hand, am looking at scripts for TV dramas in Korea.”
Rain has devoted himself to shooting a film and to doing artistic work, keeping him away from acting in a drama after his KBS TV drama ‘Fugitive:Plan B’ in 2010.
Rain added, “I’d like to play a role in a drama which has a human story, like the drama, ‘Sangdoo, Let’s Go To School’ starring actress ‘Gong Hyo-jin’ and me in the past.”
Meanwhile, Rain returned to the music scene with his 6th regular album ‘Rain Effect’ last 2nd after a three-year and nine-month absence. His title songs of the album ‘Rain Effect’, which are composed and written by himself, were number one on the Mnet Mcountdown and the KBS ‘Music Bank’ charts, on the 9th and 10th, respectively.

The night Rain released his “30 Sexy” teaser on Twitter, we were so mesmerized by it that we just kept hitting PLAY right along with all of you, haha. Finally, I said out loud, “Whoever puts that teaser on to a 3-minute loop first [so that we don’t have to hit PLAY so much] gets something out of our 2013 ZEPP stash, heh.” Terri looked at me and said, “That’s great! I’m tweeting that.” And she did.
Believe it or not, before we could blink, @TinaShon had looped that trailer and tweeted it to us, to our utter delight. LOL!^^ Great job and congrats, TinaShon! Your black Story of Rain ZEPP Tour slogan towel is on its way. 🙂

Remember back in December 2013, when Rain covered and was featured in K& Magazine in Japan? Well, three copies have arrived on this side of the ocean. (Thanks so much, our Naoko.^^ ありがとうございました！Thumbs up! )
The cover is so glossy and a lot prettier in person than we realized, so Terri immediately scurried off with one faster than you could say “fan meet.” Of course, there was no way I could resist all of that handsomeness on both covers (Rain on the front, his young eagle brother Lee Joon on the back) and inside the magazine (Rain and Joon both have spreads that make you go wahhhh…), so I’m guilty of hijacking one as well. Which leaves one gorgeous K& December 2013 issue for raffling off at a future Cloudburst. Yay! 🙂

When I first started searching the net for anything I could find on Rain, one of my fave things to come across were the dance practice videos.
From Hip Song (where he wears a Chicago White Sox cap – represent!) to Fresh Woman (where he completely wipes out and falls during the practice), to the infamous no shirt sizzle-fest Only You, these inside looks at how he gets to the finished product are always a treat and so entertaining because although replete with technical professionalism, there is always a light, easy vibe to the practice, and LA Song is no different. ^.^
Seriously, how kick-ass is his crew???? I watched this numerous times just so I can focus on each one of them individually because I don’t want to miss a thing. Pure. Awesomeness.

Rain recently took the time to express gratitude to fans for his latest “Music Bank” win for “La Song” and “M! Countdown” win for “30 Sexy.”
“Thank you everyone for the “Music Bank” trophy after my “M Countdown” win. I will try harder than ever. Please be sure to watch the latest ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook ‘broadcast,” he tweeted along with a photo of himself holding the trophy up.
It was a noteworthy accomplishment for Rain, who took home both wins from “M! Countdown” and “Music Bank” within one week of making a comeback with his sixth album in four years. He is currently promoting his double title tracks “30 Sexy” and “La Song.”

This half-hour comeback special was nothing short of amazing. I can’t imagine what it was like for the Clouds in the audience!
Rain’s matured voice and control he had over it can only be described as phenomenal, sick, and insane. The LG Electronics staging was incredible, to boot.
Add a Fabulous Crew, special moments like a slide show of his deceased mother’s pictures during “Dear Mama Don’t Cry”, a reprisal of the Hip Song Grind, and Rain’s unbridled enthusiasm for being back, and the only way I can sum it all up is #considermymindblown.

After coming back with his sixth album titled “Rain Effect” on January 2, Rain will be throwing his comeback performance through his Mnet reality show with the same title.
The coming episodes of “Rain Effect” will show the process of Rain’s practices and other preparations for this highly anticipated stage. Since this is his first comeback in a long time, Rain has put forth extra work as his own producer for the album. Instead of hiring famous songwriters, he and his partner JR GROOV has written and composed the entire album.
The comeback special was filmed on January 8 and it shows Rain practicing hard for his performance. In order to make a good performance, Rain has worked on many things himself such as the choreography and even the stage props.
Rain will also be expressing his gratitude for his fans who have waited for a long time. He will be inviting 600 fans to this special comeback show. Not only will he be performing his double title tracks “30 SEXY” and “LA SONG,” Rain will also perform some of his other tracks from the album.
Cube Entertainment reps commented, “Since it is a long-awaited comeback, Rain put a lot of significance in meeting and spending time with his fans as well as performing his new songs for the first time.”
During an interiew last month, Rain commented, “In the beginning, I was made into a star rather than an artist. But now, I want to make music that sounds good even when you hear it all day. Because I’m not an idol anymore.”
Meanwhile, Rain’s comeback show will be aired on Mnet’s “Rain Effect” on January 9 at 7:30 PM KST.
