I am posting it here because it also involves all of the registered Cloud Fan Site users who aren’t paid members (Gray clouds). For one thing, the 17th was THURSDAY, but Thursday midnight would have been Friday, technically. And for another thing, the first relocation (to a new server) probably happened over 24 hours ago, with the second relocation possibly still to come. The site has given me some weird messages today, so I figured I should say something in case other people were seeing wonky stuff too.

Thank you to those who supported this event.  The final donation amount was 7,938,000 Won {around $7,006. USD ^@@^} from 112 donors spanning the world: Canada, China, France, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam.

 [Rain] : KCM is out of the show today because of his personal schedule, so I’m so happy to be alone. With an effort I’m managing to stop myself laughing. I wonder if he is listening to the show now, but his mother must be listening to it. I love mother! I can do it myself.

 [Rain] : Listener ‘corporal ‘Gil Min Jae’ serving as a teaching assistant attached to the 1st Recruit Training Center in the 27th Army Division’, “I’ve learned the importance of patience and persistence while serving as a teaching assistant in the army. I’ll do my best until the due date for my discharge.”

I had also served as a teaching assistant for three months from January to March. While I was serving as a teaching assistant, the sweat was pouring down my back even though it was almost as cold as midwinter. Also, I was not getting enough sleep all the time. It is so hard to serve as a teaching assistant in the army. Way to go, corporal ‘Gil Min Jae’. Fighting!

South Korean mega-entertainer RAIN (a.k.a. PFC JiHoon Jung of the R.O.K. Army) has something else to be excited about this month, as if the release of his long awaited summer blockbuster film, R2B: Return to Base, isn’t enough.

R2B: Return to Base has now burst upon the mobile game scene courtesy of CJ E&M’s Netmarble, a developer, publisher, and sponsor of free online games in South Korea and Japan. (They also have a global website).

As you may recall, Rain has had a gaming character for several years in “Sudden Attack”, touted as the biggest and most popular online game developed by Netmarble in Korea. As we understand it, Rain was the first celebrity to be embedded into the game, in 2008, and his character has raked in well over $210 million USD in sales since that day.

Rain’s R2B: Return to Base spotted on the western horizon

For those of you who have been living under a rock, you may have missed the fact that Jung Ji-Hoon’s (a.k.a. Rain’s) new action blockbuster film, R2B: Return to Base, was released in South Korea on August 15. Then again, maybe not, because according to Nate News, the film came in for a landing at 4th place at the box office on its opening day. That’s not too shabby for a movie whose leading man wasn’t even allowed to promote it because of his mandatory military service in the R.O.K. Army, eh?

Even better news for Rain’s global fans, though, was the announcement from CJ Entertainment America that the film would enjoy a limited release at select theaters in North America. The film, which will be subtitled in English (and Chinese) will open on Friday, August 24, at the following theaters in U.S.A. and Canada:

Rain’s latest movie R2B: Return to Base sold in 30 countries

Will be aired in various countries in Asia and Europe.

Seoul – The movie entitled, R2B: Return to Base featuring Rain’s final performance in a movie role prior to serving his mandatory Military Service (MS) has managed to attract many international film distributors. Its rights to release has already been sold despite the fact that the movie has not been officially released in South Korea (at the time of sale).

The film has managed to sell its international airing rights to a total of 30 countries around the world so far.

As reported by Kstar 10 on Tuesday (14/8/2012), the film’s distributor, CJ Entertainment stated that RAIN’s last acting performance (before MS) R2B : Return To Base, was shot before he entered his two year leave to serve his mandatory Military Service. They indicated that the movie has been sold to 30 countries in both the Asian and European Regions.

CJ Entertainment also clarified that due to RAIN’s immense popularity in certain Asian countries, such as Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, they were able to secure agreements with these countries well in advance.

Meanwhile, European release buyers are also planning to release the movie in England, France, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. They have also expressed how impressed they were by the action scenes in R2B: Return To Base which they likened to many popular Hollywood movies.

As a display of the high expectation of Asian countries toward the movie, a special screening in Seoul (the Global Preview in CGV Youngsan) was organized by CJ Entertainment on Tuesday (14/8/2012). At this preview, CJ Entertainment invited approximately two thousand fans from around the Asian region, to watch the movie a day before the premiere with subtitles in English, Japanese and Chinese.

The movie, R2B: Return To Base, also stars Yoo Jun Sang and Shin Se Kyung. It tells the story of love and life of combat pilots in dangerous situations in South Korea.

This long awaited movie starring RAIN will be released on August 15th in South Korea.

Lord knows, the Press/Media needs someone to give them a hand, sheesh. In a lot of articles, they simply refer to JiHoon as “K-Pop singer Rain”. Not that there’s anything really wrong with that, but good grief! This man has been ACTING for TEN YEARS. If I sound a little disjointed during this post, dear Clouds and fans, it’s because I’m doing round-off back-handsprings in my Sunday best down a church aisle somewhere. I am having an Out of Body experience. I am floored.

Next Friday, JiHoon’s movie will be one hour from me and Terri, at the AMC Colonial 18 in the Atlanta suburb of Lawrenceville! Terri did get confirmation earlier today from Kjel, the AMC general manager, that R2B would indeed be opening there on August 24, but I’m only now getting the chance to do a post. Hey, it is what it is. And you all know what this means, don’t you? CLOUDBURST! Bwahahaha.

R2B: Return to Base is 1 hour and 53 minutes long and, according to AMC, not rated in the U.S.A. (NR, MPAA). It is rated 15+ in Korea, according to CJ Entertainment America. Show times are: 10:30 am, 1:20 pm, 4:10 pm, 7:00 pm, and 9:50 pm.

Incidentally, dear fans: My father, who is a 21-year Air Force vet and can tell what plane is flying by just by listening to it, came into my office and was watching the long 7-minute R2B clip with me, when he suddenly said: “The bad guys are flying MiG-29 Fulcrums!” And I was like, “For real? German-made?” To which he replied, “Nope. Russian.” So, later on, I looked up those Fulcrums, and doggone if he isn’t right.

Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrums were made to challenge the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagles manufactured by the U.S. (Rain and the good guys are flying F-15s, as do the real ROK Air Force). If those aren’t MiG-29s the bad guys are in, then they’re damn CLOSE.

High altitude action film ‘R2B : Return To Base’ came 4th at the box office during the Independence Day holiday, drawing audiences totaling 207,044 people.
