[fan account] I expected a ballad… and dropped the camera when the beat from “Rainism” began to play. :)

But FIRST:
Please note this. There are Europeans joining Rain fans in this video, yelling “RAIN!!” after Classic met Pop at the Semperoper in Dresden. Some are standing there waiting. Some are still in their seats, waiting. I have truly seen it all now. And I LOVE it.

Where did I get this Awesome K-Pop Moment of the Day? From an absolutely amazing fan account by Linh over on her blogspot. We wanted to share her account of Rain and Vogler’s concert with you all, but this isn’t all of her story, not by a long shot! Linh actually starts her account earlier in the day, and includes some of Rain out shopping as well as PLENTY of pictures before, during, and after the concert. Some of her party even met Rain after the show.
It’s great reading, great watching, and as comprehensive as all get-out. Linh doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to making you feel you are there with her. So go on over and enjoy the whole thing, folks.
We thank her for taking the time to give Rain fans this treat.

Bi Rain in Germany, 5/19/2011
Images and videos provided by: Linh @hanni-linh blogspot
After finding our seats we prepared ourselves for the concert.
My expectations? I expected Jan Vogler to play on his cello for the whole time & Bi Rain to accompany him with singing & dancing. I expected to hear ballads.
We’ll see if I was right 🙂
When the concert started, the lights went off & the screen above the stage went on. Jan Vogler introduced the concert. He described his experience of his travel to Korea, his impression of Bi Rain and their idea for a collaboration.

After that, the screen went off and Jan Vogler entered the stage. He played several songs on his cello for approximately 15min 🙂
Then the lights went off again & the screen went on once again. This time, Rain was introduced through several video clips & pictures from his concerts. The whole audience was literally screaming xD
The screen went off and suddenly the beat from ‘Rainism’ began to play. I was totally shocked! xD I really didn’t expect to see Bi Rain performing dance songs today. That’s why I missed the first seconds of the song. I dropped the camera because the sudden loud music startled me. You have to imagine, the first 15min you only got to listen to the relaxing sound of Vogler’s cello. You leaned back & enjoyed the performance. After the introduction of Bi Rain, I expected a ballad. I was still in the relaxed mode, holding up the camera expectantly, and suddenly ‘BOOM’ loud music and Bi Rain started to perform ‘Rainism’! xDD Well, I’m not complaining though. Quite the contrary, I was really euphoric, seeing Bi Rain performing one of my favourite songs 😀
I was quietly singing along…well, not too loud because I was still trying to record the performance even though I was mainly focused on watching the performance itself instead of recording it properly 🙂
A better Version by DraftWorks@youtube.com (with Intro):
Bi Rain is much more handsome in real life than on pictures & in movies 🙂 His English is really cute…just as much as his gestures xD And his eye smile….*melts away*
*Cough* Well, enough fangirling 🙂 Soo, he performed ‘Rainism’ & ‘It’s Raining’. During the whole time, nearly thw whole audience was loudly singing along. You could also hear some fan chants! If you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the audience screaming his name (Jung Ji Hoon) during the performances 🙂
After that, he left the stage & the screen went on again. This time, there were several video clips about Bi Rain & Vogler’s first meeting.
A better video by DraftWorks@youtube.com:
When the screen went off, Bi Rain & Vogler entered the stage. They talked about their first meeting, the collaboration & Bi Rain’s upcoming projects.
After that, Bi Rain left the stage and Jan Vogler started playing again. The melody sounded somehow familiar and when the music from the speakers started playing, I realized that it was the song ‘Escaping the sun’. Bi Rain entered the stage once again and performed his song. After performing, he left the stage once again & Jan Vogler closed the performance with his cello.
While the audience cheered, Rain entered the stage and he & Jan Vogler bowed. After that, they got ready for the next performance. Rain went to the left side of the stage. He was leaning on the piano while the lights went off & focused on Jan Vogler on the right side of the stage. He played the intro to one of my favourite songs from Bi Rain: Love Song. When Jan Vogler ended the intro, the music suddenly started playing & Rain started singing. I wasn’t the only one screaming xD
You know, I’m quite sure that everyone expected him to show his abs during the performance like he always did. Well, he didn’t do it this time, considering the other part of the audience who only came to listen to Jan Vogler. I don’t think they wanted to see an Asian artist, whom they didn’t really know, suddenly start flashing his abs 🙂
After this performance, Rain & Vogler went to the middle of the stage and they started talking once again. Bi Rain told us that he was tired because he was suffering from jet lag.
ATTENTION!
Fangirling moment coming up! xD
His eye rubbing was soooooooo cute *__________* I wanted to hug him, poor Rain couldn’t sleep >.<
*Cough* Yeah.
He also thanked the audience & I was able to hear his famous sentence “I’m so excited.” xDD Then Vogler announced his next performance with a female pianist.
After the cello-piano performance, Bi Rain entered the stage and announced his last perfromance with ‘Hip Song’.
I was a bit sad to hear that this would be his last performance for today but I understood that he was really tired & exhausted
Fangirling Moment!
His pelvis thrusting & butt popping was amazing xDD
After this powerful performance with ‘Hip Song’, he left the stage & re-entered it with Vogler. They both got a bouquet. Then Vogler suddenly threw his bouquet into the audience. Rain followed him by giving his bouquet to a lucky girl.
I’M TOTALLY ENVIOUS!! >.<
Yeah, uhm, he then thanked the audience once again & he thanked Jan Vogler for inviting him. The audience didn’t want to let him go, so they screamed “One more song!” and Rain decided to sing one last time. They both left the stage and the lights went off.
Jan Volger entered the stage with his cello and played the intro to ‘Love Song’. When the music started playing, Bi Rain entered the stage and performed the song. The audience was loudly singing/screaming along. He then told the audience to sing the chorus. I really wanted to sing but I was recording and my Korean skills aren’t that good 🙂
After the performance, Rain & Vogler bowed and they both said goodbye to the audience. Well, you may think that the audience would quietly leave but no, they didn’t. Everyone was screaming for Bi Rain, in the hope for another appearance of our beloved Korean artist. Unfortunately, he didn’t appeared again.
We left the Semperoper and gathered in front of the building. There, you could donate money and get some of Bi Rain’s Albums.
Well, that’s my treasure right now 🙂

We stayed on the place in front of the Semperoper, waiting for Tua’s dad to arrive to pick us up. After a while, we saw some girls passing us. One was silently crying and another girl said that she would never wash her hands again. I was like “What the f*** are they talking about?” and then some other girls told us that they met Rain at the rear exit. Some got autographs & some got handshakes.
Wow, I mentally kicked myself for not thinking of the rear exit xD To add salt to the wound, Nam & Son suddenly appeared and told us that they also met Rain. Son was waving his autographed album in front of us. Well, great.
Even though I had to face some disappointments (I’m still mentally kicking myself -.-), it was a wonderful day. You can say that it was an event worth waiting for. This concert was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me, but I still hope, that something like that could happen more than once 🙂
So, that was one of my highlights in 2011. Only time will tell which one will be the next.
