11/22. Rain still reigns in yesterday’s local paper where Elsie lives. A more proper subtitle would be: “may no longer be AS popular in Korea”, because he is still popular to a degree in Korea. About a year ago, this Naver blog (the owner?) posted about this South Korean Bed & Breakfast in Chuncheon, supposedly one of the most beautiful in the country, that Rain once visited. The B & B has commemorated Rain’s visit on one of their walls, which came about a year before that on 6/12/2014, the day that he performed at the Amway event at the Yeosu Expo’s Big O venue. ^@@^

11/22. As I understand it, just because you’ve done your mandatory military duty and gotten out doesn’t mean you’re necessarily done for good, according to the ROK. You’re still considered in the Reserves, at least for a while. And so… a young man who had reported for his mandatory reserves training on base saw Rain there and figured it was probably time for his as well. I guess it is a good idea to keep the ol’ fighting reflexes fresh in these volatile times. As long as Rain gets his butt right on back home, I’m good. ^@@^ (Image credit: rose_carrera @ Instagram)

11/12. A Rain fan blogged about Rain having visited pet lover-haven Urban Dog Cafe and left an autograph. I wonder which dog he took — Janggoonie, or Sarangy? Or both? I so agree with you. He is ageless both in talent and looks. He has the rare ability to make is fans feel ageless. I am so addicted to my curious boy. I am a fan now and forever.

You know I was telling a fellow Cloud on FB just yesterday that this was probably just reserve duty. She was getting upset thinking he had to go back……I was like naw….he doesn’t. I told her my hubby is former military and he had to do mandatory reserve duty after his active duty as well. It’s just routine, don’t panic. You’re right Stephe, reserves keeps the inactive soldier “fight ready” so to speak. No one ever knows when or if diplomacy in one’s country will fall off the rails and war happens. All who are able to go “handle it” must be ready when/if they get the call to actively go serve again. That’s what it is.
As far as the article about him not being as popular in Korea, I say “suck rocks”….he’s ever popular with his base and always will be. The entertainment industry in e’rbody’s country is always youth based. However, as a celeb matures so does his/her audience. An older celeb will just cultivate a new audience that’s all. A new audience who can appreciate their maturity and growth in the industry. Hey, I’m a woman who’s all about the “grown and sexy” and Bi is All Kinds of “grown and sexy”…..he’s like fine wine. These young bloods can only hope to have a small taste of that kind of “hormone inducing sexy” when they get older. Honey, Jihoon Jung can Still make women swoon….and quite handily too.

Great and exhaustive – as always 🙂 Well done job, for sure, thank you for this! But that sounds awful, “no longer popular in Korea”. After all, he’s still able to sell out a concert hall there… Hm, isn’t it a kind of strategy to focus more on the Chinese market, for many good reasons?

I think Rain is smart to focus on the Chinese market…no doubt. Yet and still, as a Western fan it’s frustrating to no end sometimes. I see so many opportunities on American TV for Asian actors. I’m seeing so many new Asian faces on the latest popular TV shows…..”Quantico” being one of those shows. I sit and watch and I’m like….”damn, Rain would be so good in this!” SMILES……..
Oh well, just thinking out loud……..don’t mind me. SMILES.
