I’ve always admitted that, even though Rain hypnotizes the heck out of me when singing in his native Korean tongue, when he sings in Japanese, every endorphin in my nervous system melts down like a nuclear reactor. Don’t know why. Can’t figure it out. ❤ It is what it is! Under those circumstances, it’s waaaay past time for me to share with y’all the 15 songs Rain sings in Japanese and English — that I know of — in the order I like them.

In my #4 spot: “Slowly”, the “B” side of his first Japanese single release “Sad Tango” (2006).
As far as I know, this song is not on any album or repackaged album. It’s not even on his Japanese album Eternal Rain, nope. The only place you will find it (and the instrumental version of it) is on that “Sad Tango” single release CD in Japan.
Many fans will say that this is THE sexiest song of all the sexy songs Rain has made, and I tend to agree because of one simple fact — the lyrics leave no room for thoughts of double entendre. The words are not strategically chosen so that maybe, oh, he could be slow-dancing in the club with his woman, yeah that’s it. NOPE. It is clear as crystal that he and his woman are right in the middle of doing it and he is in control of how fast or slow they go and barely holding off. Point. Blank. Period. And…
…it is Grade A awesome. (The Korean censors would have jumped into the Han River, screaming.)

Close your eyes after you hit “play” and just listen to Rain’s voice only. I dare you. I double-dog dare you. Eyes. Closed. If you want the full effect, use headphones (I always have to snatch them off for a few seconds after “My body’s so hot…”) *evil chuckle* 😉
My brother walked in on me once when I was listening to “Slowly” and doing the “eyes closed, headphones on, head bowed, hands clasped” thing, and said that I looked like I was praying.
I replied that yes, I was. For mercy. Ahahaha~
This right here is a fast version of the song. I’ve no idea where it came from. I didn’t even know it existed. Maybe it’s just a fun remix by a DJ somewhere. Interesting…

Oh, I just really love you Stephe, your writing is great and this is the best web on Rain 🙂 I was about to get to this series about Japanese songs in early summer, but somehow forgot about it. Now I’ve downloaded Slowly to my mobile some weeks ago and after listening to it every day finally got curious about the lyrics…Wow!!! In fact, I was wondering why Rain seems to be much more open with the Japanese fans 🙂 Anyway, thanks so much for this great series!

Beez don’t be embarrass I don’t believe there is a fan who have not had a fantasy of OPPA having an interesting wardrobe malfunction of some kind. I am keeping that one too. His dresser must have be out on that day and no one check to make sure he was dress to dance.( like a jock strap). We are all adult here who love an incredible gorgeous and talented young man. Okay, *ahem* I’m embarrassed that my first post here is this but, I can’t believe none of the commenters on this posting mentioned Rain in the last video in those pink pants (with the vest, although the vest is not the…um…shall I say. ..er…attention getter here. *my cheeks are red and the tips of my ears are burning but I surely took a screen shot of *that* for my…uh…personal…use- COLLECTION!…I meant collection.

My heart breaks when I see how must he works so hard at getting their approval. That country in still in the Imperial era where no matter how far you rise in wealth or fame it is the family/social status that counts. He may be famous the world over but he is still the kid from a poor and no family/ social status. I wonder if that is why he and Kim Tae Hee are holding out on marriage. The Korean culture is sometime difficult to understand. It is a contradiction in terms

Nap over! Thanks for getting back to me. I was hoping to hear about how you are enjoying Please come back Mister? I am in seven heaven with this drama. He and Yeon seo are so good together. The whole ensemble is great but those two make the show. I am sad that it is not getting the love from the Korean viewing audience. Internationally it seem to be doing quite well.
I will love to find a chat room devoted to him. Do you know if this is one? In the mean I am so loving your lists.

We’re kind of used to him not getting the love in his own country, and it’s puzzling and heartbreaking, to say the least. All he ever does is try to please his countrymen, and he’s literally brought the world to their door, and yet a lot of them act like he’s worse than a criminal. ??? Now, I will say that if he shows up on the street for something, everything shuts down and they flock to see him or walk with him or whatever, and I mean in DROVES. But when it comes to his TV and movie projects? He gets more love in China and Japan and everywhere else. It’s just odd, and it really hurts him. 😦
As far as chat rooms go… there are several forums up and running, but I’m not sure about chat rooms. We do have a chat room on our forum, but the problem is our old forum was very active and then we had to move it because our web host shut down, and our new forum and chat room are up (http://s13.zetaboards.com/CLOUD_USA/index/) but fans haven’t come over to participate so far. We have places where everyone can not just comment and chat but also put up their own posts, just like before. I don’t know what the problem is… our mods are over there most of the time, ready and willing to engage, so…
*shrug* There may be other rooms out there, but I haven’t run into any.

OMG!!! Mercy! I had heard the song in Japanese and went knee less. Even with out the translation I knew it was a soft jam type of song. But… you had to go and include the translation and if a male had be near by, he would have been in serious trouble. I know he can invoke rapture in the heart of his female fans(I believe few males may have experience it). He can just walk into a room, he exudes sexuality. Even when he is at his funniest, that sexuality is just below surface. I can see why all the younger idols try so hard to capture that. You either have or you don’t and my OPPA has both talent and sexuality in spades. I am ok now. Sorry for the rant. Coming off a RAIN induced high take a out of you. I think I will take a nap now(HAHA)
