  1. I am really looking forward to Rain’s new drama!! The drama sounds very interesting!! I would love for Rain to end up with the girl in the end. However, I would be ok if he did not as long as the drama is super good!!

  2. I like the fact that this is being promoted as a romantic “drama,” rather than a romantic comedy. After all, we know that Rain is superb at angst, right. So, any role that allows him to be somewhat troubled should work in his favor.

I’m also curious at the talk that is going on about the drama already. There are some that are concerned about the age spread between Rain and Krystal (12 years–she’s 20 and he’s 32), and whether they will be able to have any believable chemistry on screen together. I guess that depends on the script and in which direction the romance will go.

Will the screenwriter take this as an opportunity to push the envelope and allow a man to fall in love with the younger sister of his deceased lover and actually be with her–or not? I doubt it. My experience with Korean dramas and all of the talk going on about a “fated love” leads me to believe that in the end Rain will be the loser in the relationship department here.

We all know that the likelihood of a man being able to be with the younger sister of someone he has dated in the past is slim to none–in ANY culture. Still, drawn out sexual tension and the angst of such situations is one of the main reasons I enjoy Korean dramas more than American dramas sometimes. American dramas just put everything out there, which doesn’t always make for the best story or viewer experience–unless you are a voyeur, maybe. So, to me, it doesn’t matter whether Rain gets the girl or not. As long as the story works in general and gives Rain the chance to do his good work, I’ll be fine with that.

But please, PLEASE, let’s all cross our fingers that the screenwriter will avoid the repetitive conventions that do plague Korean dramas like amnesia or–well you all know what they are. LOL. Hopefully, the script will be good enough to let Rain’s amazing talent shine through. That will be enough for me.

I’m also looking forward to seeing Krystal in something more than a supporting role. She has been working pretty consistently in acting since 2010, but this is her first leading lady role. I was impressed with her acting in Heirs, especially with the work she did with her co-star Kang Min Hyuk. They had great chemistry onscreen, and they even won Dramafever’s “Best Couple” award this year (2014). I bet that her successes with her role in “Heirs” had a lot to do with her getting the lead in “My Loveable Girl.” I wish her well and I hope she does even better work in this drama. ♥

I’m also excited for her that her first major lead is with Rain. What an experience that should be for her, eh? (In more ways than one, perhaps. After all, what torture it must be to have to interact with Rain every day at work, right? :-P)

Of course, “I would be remiss if I did not reiterate my position.” Another reason I’m thrilled that Krystal will be working with Rain in this drama is because she speaks fluent English. She was born in San Francisco and was not recruited into SM Entertainment until 2006. So, she’s still quite the “American.” So, I’m crossing my fingers that this means she will converse with Rain in English–a LOT.

And yes, I do have an ulterior motive. LOL.
