[review] “His performance was smooth and served as a superb platform to launch him into whatever his next role may be…”

I feel I would be remiss if I didn’t let y’all know how widely I’m grinning right now. 😀

(Unfortunately, there are a heck of a lot of errors at the beginning of this write-up, concerning Paul’s daughter Beth (actress Gia Mantegna) and her friend Angela (Jessica Lowndes). *sigh*)

‘The Prince’: “Rain” Co-stars in Run of the Mill Testosterone Flick With Tinge of Likability [Film Review]

South Korean heartthrob 'Rain' Co-stars in 'The Prince'

South Korean heartthrob ‘Rain’ Co-stars in ‘The Prince’

[EXCERPTS]

The Prince stars Jason Patric,  alongside film and entertainment industry heavyweights Bruce Willis, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, John Cusack, and South Korean singer ‘Rain’ (Jung Ji-Hoon) in this run of the mill, how-did-they-get-all-of-those-big-names, testosterone flick that indeed holds the viewer’s attention quite long enough for a smidgen of likability…

What finally ensues are a bloody shoot-outs, not unlike the host of other testosterone flicks you’ve seen in the past.   Paul enlists the help of a former loyal comrade named Sam (Johh Cusack) who intends to aid in Paul’s escape from New Orleans.  In the process Paul has to do battle with The Pharmacy, Mark the enforcer (who is the first antagonist to give Paul a combative run for his money), and finally Omar…

Jung JiHoon (better known as the singer RAIN who starred in 2009′s  Ninja Assassin) won’t be winning any performance awards just yet, but there’s promise for him as he makes his mark outside of the martial arts genre and into action Americana.  His performance was muted and smooth and served as a superb platform to launch him into whatever his next role may be….

  1. Watch the movie.. The Prince…. Like the character you perform..it’s different from the characters which we have watched on your other drama’s . You have given some tough look to the character comparing the lovely innocent personalities you carried in other dramas..believe … Today I watched R2B, Ninja Assasin and the prince…too. I am a person who watched full house three times, love to kill two times, sang doo let’s go to school two times…you are amazing to make the viewer live on the drama or in film.love your acting a lot..loads of wishes. Looking forward to see you in more dramatic films and dramas…love from our small country .. Sri Lanka. Wish u all the best and success..

  2. This was a pretty cool review. I agree too. Rain has a lot of promise, he just needs the right role in the right movie. You already know who I feel he should team up with….SMILES!

On your previous post, Rain talks about being successful as opposed to worrying about timing. I know exactly what he means when he says that. However, I do think you can’t always count “timing” out either. I just hope both…..success and timing….will go hand in hand for his career on this side of the ocean.

    Awesome post!
