[fan account][images][fan cams] Maria’s POV at the 2014 Rain Effect Show in Beijing. (3/28)

HUGE thanks to CloudUSAer Maria for not only making the journey to give Rain support with Cloud sisters in Beijing, but for her fan account and her hard work in getting lovely fan cams. Not bad at all from a seat in the 10th row!
One thing cannot be denied in viewing this footage—Rain was happier than a clam prancing around up there. The stage (and his fans) is so in his blood. 🙂 ^@@^

I loved Beijing very much, even though there was also the so called “fog” present most of the time. I have now crossed off one more place from my ‘Bucket List.” I’m so grateful and thankful that I was able to take this trip. I know somewhere down the road I will revisit, as there is so much more to see. Loved the people and how friendly and curious they were of Westerners. Loved the food, the tea, the history and sites I visited on my tour.
Day before concert: I checked in to a hotel in the Olympic Greens area, which was literally across the street from the National Indoor Stadium, and walked thru the area most of the afternoon. I got to see such great and amazing architectural masterpieces, like the Bird’s Nest.
Day of the concert: Earlier in the day, I learned that Rain was going to be staying at the same hotel I was staying at, and I have to admit that the thought of possibly seeing him there was very exciting. Alas, the wish was there, but it didn’t happen. I was not at the right place at the right time.
CloudUSAer Tammy and I had gone out to have lunch at a nearby restaurant because I was told, “You cannot leave Beijing without trying the Peking Duck.” Upon our return, we met with other Clouds coming from Japan and China at the stadium and then went back to the hotel, so I did not see Rain when he left the hotel to go to the stadium. We did get to see in the hotel lobby all the Fabulous Men and Women of the dance crew. I just decided that I was going to walk right in front of them and at least say hello!
My first and rare upclose opportunity! Why miss it? And so I did just that. I stopped right in front of Park Kyeong Yeol (@gori7911) and he had the biggest smile (wonder if he was thinking as I was approaching, alert alert… crazy one coming directly towards us… LOL!) I said my friendly hello and gave them all thumbs up and I left. No harm done. [Editor’s note: Nicely done, Maria! Thumbs up! Keke 🙂 ^@@^]
While walking in to the stadium, Japanese Cloud Michiko and I did get interviewed by a China TV station or news crew… I wish we knew who they were (or maybe I don’t, as I’d rather be behind a camera than in front of one). We were asked several questions in Chinese and did not understand a word, of course, until a concert-goer came to the rescue and translated for them and for us. I can’t recollect exactly what I said, but I do remember mentioning that Rain has a lot of love and support from Cloud USA and we are waiting for him to come perform concerts in the US.
It was almost time for the concert to begin and anticipation was rising. At the venue, there was a sea of neon blue sticks and creative lighted signs (see my fan cam) and Clouds chanting his name, Jung Ji Hoon! Jung Ji Hoon! There are many beautiful pictures and videos being posted from the Beijing concert and you are able to see and hear that he sounded awesome and looked so so handsome. I did not capture on video all the songs. At a certain point, I really just wanted to watch him perform… it must have been the Rain Effect. 🙂 [Editor’s note: Perfectly understandable! We’re glad you did that and enjoyed yourself. You’d traveled way to far to keep your face stuck in a camera with Rain right there! ^@@^]
He sang for approximately 2 hours, and it seemed like time went by so quickly.
Touch Ya, Dear Mama Don’t Cry, and My Girl.
Marilyn Monroe.
LA Song, a bit of interpreted conversation, With U, and Fresh Woman.
You (Make Me Crazy), Escaping the Sun, and I’m Coming.
After the concert, we rushed back to the hotel as Michiko and Toshiko and I had to catch a flight to Malaysia during the night. Regardless of the Twin Towers Alive concert cancellation, it was too late for us to make any changes to our plans.
We spent just about 24 hours in Kuala Lampur at a beautiful hotel, and we met Clouds from Thailand in front of what was supposed to be the TT Alive concert stage. It was great seeing the beautiful and dedicated Thailand Clouds that I had met in Japan again, and I loved meeting new Thai Clouds. The more I travel to Rain concerts, the more I learn about how dedicated and loyal Clouds really are from all around the world.
This was another very memorable concert trip experience. I’m already thinking about the next concert/tour, wherever that will be. One thing is for sure—one concert in one trip is not enough, and like Rain recently said in an interview, which I liked hearing very much, he will perform in small venues so he can be closer with his fans. I really love the sound of that. I DO, I DO…
I want to let the beautiful and sweet Cloud friends I have made from near and far, because of Rain, know that I truly enjoy spending precious time we have together when we see each other at Cloudbursts and concerts. Thank you all for my beautiful gifts. Until we meet again….
(That goes for you too, Rain. One of these times, I am going to say hello to you in person!)

BTW, my “bucket list” is so dang deep at this point I could “drown” in that huge pail of water. Glad somebody is getting to cross off their entries.
