[FYI][Cloud USA] An Atlanta Super Cell Cloudburst is on the horizon.

cloudusamodern_skyDearest Clouds…

We hope you’ve all had a good week. TGIF! (Thank God It’s Friday!)

Y’all know how my and Terri’s week has been—hint: Ice Jam 2014. It took until late yesterday to free my car from the ice in my driveway (unfortunately my tree-lined street on a hill was still a sheet)! And the day the storm hit (Tuesday noon), Terri spent more than 9 hours in that mess, trying to get home from work in her car. Horrors.

Thank goodness we’re thawing out and that’s behind us so that we can focus on something much sunnier, like the next Cloudburst get-together. 🙂

Terri and I have checked our schedules, and after batting the subject about on Facebook with lovely peeps in our Cloud USA community, we’ve narrowed down a date to gather, have a meal and loads of fun, and dish about Rain. The first Cloudburst of this year will be the March 15 weekend (specifically Saturday evening, March 15, 2014 at 7 PM) right here in HOTlanta, the ATL. We’re on the hunt for a good venue as we speak. That information and more particulars will be posted as soon as we can get that together. We wanted to immediately get the date up so that folks would have time to plan.

Wow… I’m only now noticing something hilarious about that date. It happens to be the very same weekend we had last year’s first Cloudburst! Whodathunk? LOL!

Hope to see you all there.

Do stay tuned for more info.

  1. Terri,

Is it too late to be added to the list? My income tax just came in and I’m all set to make my flight arrangements. Do we call the hotel ourselves to reserve a room? I plan on being there if nothing pressing comes up. Thanks

    • Hi, Talitha. 🙂 This is Stephe. It’s not too late, certainly not! Yes, do call the hotel and don’t forget to give them our Cloud USA special code in the post when you reserve your room. Really hoping to see you there!

We have set up a group reservation for Cloud USA at the Holiday Inn Express in Duluth. The hotel is located at: 3670 Shackleford Rd, in Duluth GA, 30096.

Rates: 1 king bed = $79.90 per night. 2 dbl beds = $84.15 per night. This is a 15% discount. To make reservations tell them you are part of Cloud USA’s group & use our code: EG2

To make your reservation, call this #: 18884654329. Your rooms must be reserved and paid for in ADVANCE by February 22.

Please let me know when you’ve made your reservations, so I can keep track of how many rooms are left in the group being held and can call and add more if we need to.

Many thanks to Alicia in Savannah for helping me set up these group reservations. ♥

  7. I would LOVE to come and am looking into it. Sadly because I’m way the hell up here in the great white north it costs a tad more to fly down there. Any idea of hotel costs yet?

    • Dot, is it STILL snowing up there? I’ve had enough snow for a lifetime this year and that was only a few inches for a few days. I can’t imagine dealing with snow all winter. *shiver*

      • YES It is still snowing off and on, but we had some rain too and then it froze the melting snow on the roads to ice ruts, driving on my street is like riding a bucking bronko. LOL

Still seriously considering coming down for some warm weather, cheapest travel cost I can find is about $550 then all the other expenses, still leaning your way though. Will let you know soon.

  15. Clouds, I need a headcount so that I can make reservations at a restaurant. I also want to see if I can find a hotel close to the restaurant that we can stay at together. But I need a headcount to do both of those things.

Please leave a comment here to let me know to add you to my master list.
