Rain Effect enjoying its reign as Hanteo’s Realtime No. 1 album. (1/4/2014)

When Terri got up to get ready for work early yesterday morning, before leaving for her job she noticed that Rain’s newly released album Vol. 6 Rain Effect was No. 1 on the Hanteo Charts in South Korea. I just checked Hanteo again, and Rain Effect is still enjoying its reign. Thumbs up!
I’ve been playing my iTunes album download forwards and backwards since yesterday because every song is catchy, underlined by hot, diverse beats that make you move, and full of emotion that you can feel. In my opinion, on all of Rain’s past albums, his beautiful voice has been on a level playing field with the music accompanying it. However, on Rain Effect, Rain’s phenomenally maturing voice gives the music NO quarter when it comes to who is boss and who’s the star. The music recedes slightly into the background as Rain transitions from note to note in a way you need to hear to believe. (Great job choosing a goooood producer, Rain!)
His voice is showcased better than it has ever been, and he controls it like a magician. Which is why he is known for more than his Magic Feet. 🙂
*skips merrily away chanting 30sexy, 30, 30!*

Zoe,
Well, it was on iTunes last night, but when I checked the link (before I gave it to you), it has vanished, and the message that pops up says that the item isn’t available in the U.S. store.
Unbelievable.
I don’t know what happened, but I’m trying to find out. Of course the time difference is a pain and everybody in Rain’s camp is busy planning for his television appearances. So, I don’t know when I will get a response from someone.
I will post the response here and on Twitter.
All I can say is I’m glad I bought the album immediately. Sigh.

Oh and I agree about the getting a good producer thing. Remember when Janet Jackson got with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. It wasn’t until she got with them that they “pulled” whatever it was that needed to come out…..out. It was music magic. I have all her albums from the time I was teen and saw her musical growth too. A good producer can definitely make the difference. They can make a mediocre singer a good singer and a good singer a great singer. Capitalizing on the singers strengths coupling that with crazy, sick beats or smooth groove melodies can make for an amazing combination.

See, THIS Cloud newbies is why we vote our @sses off. It pays off with the numbers. I agree Stephe, I just can’t stop listening to the album. His voice has SO matured like fine wine.
Honestly, as a Cloud, I’m glad I’ve been along for the ride for a few years. I’ve actually been able to see him mature musically. You have a different appreciation for where he is now. Love it!!
