[Update][info] From Stephe’s desk: Having a Cloud effect on Rain Effect.

{*Edited to Add 12/21 B: A little birdie just told me that she watched the entire episode on Mnet.interest.me with no problem when it was first posted there… in other words, it was changed into this teaser thing after so many views. I suppose, in a way, that that’s good news, as it might mean there were so many views that Mnet took notice. Which means big points for Rain. I’m hoping that’s the case, anyway. Hm… Thanks for your info, Patrice. ^@@^}

{*Edited to Add 12/21: It has just come to my attention that the second link in my list below (on Mnet.interest.me) is indeed the 50-minute episode but stops after 1 minute. It certainly does, and when I screenshot the Korean message that blinked by way too fast for anyone to read it (much less translate), there are two buttons: one to register, and the other to add a viewing rights purchase “to your cart.” Now, I can’t very well expect those of us who don’t know Korean to somehow register on a site with no English option, so you’re out of luck, Mnet. You’ve lost us on that one, for sure. No go. *shaking my head*

For me, I’m sticking with the fourth link in the hopes that viewership is counted while the show is live-streaming, for now. (And our precious Plan Bs, and concentrating effort toward Mnet America.) I have edited this post accordingly.

It’s puzzling why no one who spread the news first about this link on social media mentioned this very important fact. (Thanks for the tip, Sandy Tang!) ^@@^}

ORIGINAL POST

I was reading posts over on Rain’s Little Cloud, the wonderful team of ladies who bring us Rain news and Cloud news translated in multiple languages (English, Spanish, Indonesian, Romanian, Turkish, French, etc.), and team member Bi Arashi’s post about the “Rain Effect” premiere hit on something we should all be doing constantly.

Why? Because no matter what, the purpose uppermost in all of our minds should be rewarding Rain for his hard work. Always.

She’s absolutely right.

The way that Clouds and Rain fans can best show the world and the Powers That Be that “Rain is back!” is to put our voices and numbers where it counts for him the most—through his sponsors, who are watching his numbers. This is especially important when that sponsor makes an effort to give us that chance, something that not all sponsors bother to do. So, no matter where else you watch Rain’s new reality TV show, make absolutely sure that you view it at one of the official Mnet sites, where your viewership will count “on paper” and make a buzz for Rain.

» Rain Effect 1st Episode broadcast, Mnet @YouTube. This cannot be viewed in the USA, but may be viewable in other countries.

» Rain Effect 1st Episode, Mnet.interest.me TV. Viewable in the USA and possibly other countries. Mnet Korea. All 50 minutes were watchable for a short period. Now, after 1 minute, viewer must either register OR pay for viewing. NOT RECOMMENDED (unless you can read and respond in Korean, of course).

» Rain Effect episodes live-streamed, jp.mnet.com. Mnet Japan. Must be logged in as a member.

» Mnet Korea channel live-streamed on-air programming. The “Rain Effect” showings this week are listed HERE.  Viewable in the USA and possibly other countries. Not sure if viewership is counted here, but there’s no reason it shouldn’t be.

There is still no sign of “Rain Effect” on Mnet America’s website, but to be fair, there wasn’t supposed to be until at least next week sometime, or after that. It won’t hurt a thing to go over there now, sign up, become an active part of the place and let them know that you want to see Rain. (His artist pages are HERE. Use them! Watch his vids, read his articles, make a buzz! Don’t wait for someone else to do it.)

We are grateful beyond words to the fans who have provided other ways to watch the show because, let’s face it, Clouds and Rain fans outside of Asia have had a hard row to hoe in past years when it came to seeing Rain projects, and still do today, so it’s always great to have backup and a “Plan B.” 🙂 (And, for some fans, these uploads are the only option.) Just bear in mind that if you want more new Rain projects on television, on the radio, and on the Internet going forward, the way to ensure that is through his sponsors NOW.

Put your time where your mouth is, for Rain! If anyone should “pay” the man for his efforts and want him to succeed, it’s his fans.

    • That makes things even clearer, Patrice. *wagging my finger at sneaky, sneaky Mnet* I appreciate you letting me know that!

      And that certainly was not a stab in Bi Arashi’s direction. A lot of other folks tweeted that link too, like it was going out of style, and now I understand better why. I really appreciate that post Bi Arashi did, because she spoke the plain truth. We’ve gotta give Rain love where it really counts, when we can.

  2. I understand her point but…..

    They should really release these with subs simultaneously. They lose views and momentum for lack of subs.Rain has a huge international following and its a bit of a spoiler/pointless yo watch in Korean if you don’t know the language well… I’m sad the one version with Eng fan subs is now taken down on YouTube…should have watched it last night when i found it 😦

  5. Well, I just got through “paying” JiHoon through my bank for my ZEPP tour goods. All I can say is those bank transfer fees……only for you JiHoon, cause another “ninja” would be S-O-L.

    So funny, the bank teller lady was so fascinated (being nosy actually) with this transfer of funds to Korea and the purchase I was making. She actually asked me if I knew Korean. I said “oh a few words here and there. I’m actually purchasing goods from an artist I like over there.” She asked me who it was and I said his name is Rain. She said “I’m gonna look him up right now.” So two seconds after she says that, she goes “Oh, he’s Hot!” and I said “Are you looking at him really?” and She said “yeah” and then she let me come round and look at the computer screen to confirm it. After that she asked me “well, how did you find out about him?” Then I proceeded with my Ninja Assassin story. She continued asking questions, she asked “So you understand his music?” Then I told her, “he’s actually considered a Korean R&B artist.” We went on and on like this the whole time she’s doing this transaction.

    I was actually in awe of this conversation I was having at the bank no less, while I’m trying to conduct business. However, I do get her fascination. I’m sure it’s not everyday a black woman comes in wanting to wire money to Korea for fan goods no less. LOL!

    On my way out the door, we both say our goodbyes and have a happy holiday pleasantries. Then she says, “When I watch that Ninja movie, I’m gonna think of you….Rain’s number 1 fan.” I told her I really do like him, but there’s some fans, that’s way more out there than me. I’m a tame one, but keep checking him out. *SMILES*

    We talked about watching foreign dramas and she shared a childhood memory too. The moment was cool and Sci-fi all rolled up into one. JiHoon see what you do! *SMILES*…………………………
