[brief synopsis][caps][Rain Effect] From Stephe’s desk: Episode 1 from an English-speaker’s POV.

Rain arrives at his house, says hello to little General (Janggoonie) and his other dog, a giant poodle. After shooing Jangoonie out (probably to do his “business”), Rain tells the poodle to sit for a treat (앉아! / an-ja!) and when that doesn’t work, sits on the dog and shows how it’s done. And gives it a treat. LOL! ^@@^

He changes clothes behind a door (the only way to avoid the cameras in the house) and has lunch with his personal assistant. After that, it’s on to the airport to leave for Japan (time to ZEPP!), and on the way he stops and gets his hair “did.”

When he arrives at the new Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk hotel in Japan, the first thing he does is LEAP on to the bed a la JiWoo in The Fugitive: Plan B, LOL! Then he takes a gander at all the cameras. When it’s time to have a “serious” meeting with his Fabulous Crew, whatever it is he’s saying gets NO response from them whatsoever (particularly Gori), and Rain leaves the room in a snit after throwing down his water bottle. When the crew follows him, we see the real deal — everyone falls out in laughter as it was only a birthday prank being played on Gori (Big K). Food and drink all around! Good acting, JiHoon! ^@@^

{*Edited to Add: Because of this article at enewsWorld, now we know that Rain was “complaining” to the team about their dancing and how they didn’t work well together as a team anymore in order to prank Gori. Poor birthday guy! Aw!^^)

On a tour of popular tourist mall Canal City, Rain indulges in the things most near and dear to his heart—food, and shoes. He eats and shops like a mad man (and he has a bit of a cold). ^@@^

On the plane to ZEPP Osaka, he reads an article about himself on one of his peep’s cell phones.

There is a lot of on stage and backstage ZEPP interspersed in the show! One scene has Rain on the floor in his dressing room, recovering from that night’s ZEPP. ^@@^

The Fabulous Ones and their glorious leader jet over to Hong Kong for the 2013 MAMA. On the plane, it’s time for going over choreography, and sleeping. Except for Rain, of course—while others are resting, he’s got his ear buds in, still going over things. That’s our world star workaholic! ^@@^

When he arrives for his 2013 MAMA rehearsal, he looks road-weary but nothing stops him from taking care of business, and you still see a spark of excitement in him.

The night of the 2013 MAMA… When Rain is out of hair and makeup and is fully dressed except for his pink blazer, he pays a visit to good friend Lee Hyori backstage!

Aaaaaand… that’s where we leave off until Episode 2 next week. Total broadcast time, 54 minutes (and not one interruption for a commercial ad. Now we see why they played them all at the very beginning. Great job, Mnet!) I feel blessed to have been able to watch this episode live. If Mnet America comes through with English subs, that will be gravy on the potatoes!

  3. I knew trying to watch it from work was out of the question and really didn’t want to miss it, at last minute I rearranged my work schedule so I could watch it. Stephe the live stream links you shared worked great. I loved it and like you all I was happy to see the men and women who work with Rain daily and the close bond he seems to have with all of them and how involved he gets with all of his projects. I do hope there will be english subs too eventually. The Zepp Osaka concert clips brought back lots of great memories. I am looking forward to seeing the next epi.

    • Yeah! As the ZEPP crowds were being scanned during the concert, I was looking for y’all, haha! It was cool knowing as I watched that you were there.

  6. Oh, one more thing. I don’t know what song that was he pulled up on his phone when they were in the bus on the way to the airport (I believe). I just thought to myself “he is SO “hood” for someone who’s so traditionally Korean.” LOL.

Now you see why I call him…”Korean brotha” a lot of the time. *SMILES*

  7. Thank you so much for sharing… Unfortunately for me I have to wait until I get home to watch as work computer won’t let me watch T_T. I looking forward to watching!!

  8. I only caught about 30 minutes of it when I got to work. I really like seeing him in his element. He seems to be a cool boss. I’m sure he’s tough, but at least everybody seems to like working for him.

His skin is lovely. All these HD tvs and Iphone cameras will make you do something about your skin anyway if you’re famous. People constantly “clickity-clacking” cameras in your face. Being pretty is a job for him too at times no doubt……and BiAlamode IS NOT complaining! No siree!

    Looking forward to next week!

  11. I don’t know if I was just so excited to see him or what, but I really liked it. I was impressed and can’t wait for the next ep. To me it didn’t feel like an hour but then they are known to cram a lot into an hour, just sit for a kdrama and you know what I mean. Anyways, I look forward to the next ep and give this one an A+. Great hotel, great camera and the assistant seems to have his own personality.
