If I were to summarize the concert in one word, it would be fabulous. Did you think I was going to say something else?
Let me begin by saying how warm and friendly I have found all Japanese people to be. If you ask a question, all have a bit of knowledge of English and have always been very helpful with directions for my questions such as, “I am lost.” Some have even taken the time to walk with me and ask me questions.
Standing in line before concert:
From what I could see, the majority were ladies. I did see some men, and some very young girls accompanied by their mother, of course.
I did not know what to expect about how to line up because of the numbered tickets. There were signs which had 1-100 and then 101 to 200 and so forth, and you were supposed to stand behind the signs. My ticket number for this concert was extremely close to the stage as it was amongst this first group. I fully understood that pushing and shoving to get ahead was pretty normal as we entered the concert hall, I totally got it. I ended up going from the 2nd row to about the 5th row by choice, and loved where I was standing (almost center left).
I met more really friendly Clouds (who spoke a bit of English ) as we waited for the concert to start.
The Concert:
As Rain appeared on stage for the first few minutes, I was at a loss for words. I can’t describe all those feelings that evolve from watching him perform live on stage, the songs and dances we love so much that we have heard or watched countless times. Here Rain and all the Fab Ones were standing live right in front of me. It brought me to tears.
I am sorry to say but I do not recall how many songs he sang. But I do remember he sang many of all our favorites, the same set as previous concerts. One time I made the hand heart sign, and he saw it as he did a heart sign over his head back. That made it even more special.
Rain was his usual self, very playful, happy, and sweet with his audience. During his breaks, audience got to see behind-the-scenes videos. I didn’t understand a word of what he talked about, but I didn’t ask for translations from the fan next to me as I thought it might be a bother. He drank from a water bottle and then threw it in the audience. I think there must have been a few fans trying to hold on to it, lol! And he threw 3 to 4 towels into the audience. He also mentioned that he had caught a cold.
The concert lasted for over 2 hours, and I am already looking forward to the next one. No one took or attempted to take any pictures or videos that I saw.
I just wanted to share my first full live Rain concert experience.
It’s very late here and need to go to sleep. Goodnight!

Maria, Thanks for the fan account of your 1st Rain concert. I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to be that close to him for over 2 hours. Wasn’t it the fastest 2 hours? Isn’t that man just so mesmerizing ??? Have a great time at the remaining concerts and I hope you have time to write about them too.
