New on the Block: Rain’s Discography on CloudUSA.org

Rain's Discography~Cloud Cover by Terri :-}, Managing Editor

Lovely Clouds,

Remember that super special secret project that I’ve been hinting at for the past two years?  Well, guess what?  It’s finally here.

As you know, Cloud USA is constantly seeking ways to improve its contribution to Rain’s world.  It’s not always easy to come up with unique ideas, or even ideas that we think might really matter all that much to the vast Cloud community, which frankly, has been around a LOT longer than Cloud USA.

vol1However, as Rain was about to go into the military, Stephe and I found ourselves doing some major brainstorming to try and come up some way to 1) make the time Rain was gone go even faster for us and 2) make it easier for future English-speaking Rain fans to learn more about him and to understand his work.  (And since #2 really is one of our direct missions, we are determined to complete it.)

After a rather lengthy discussion, we finally decided that one of the best things we could personally do for him was create someplace out in cyberspace where Rain’s English-speaking fans could always count on finding good, solid English translations of his songs. So, after some major planning and schedule overhauling, that’s exactly what we did.

In honor of Rain’s release from the ROK Army, Cloud USA is proud to present our “Rain’s Discography,” an extremely special space on Cloud USA’s website that has been two years in the making. In Rain’s Discography on Cloud USA, you will currently find:

  • Lyrics to all six of Rain’s main Korean albums (from n001 to Back to the Basic)
  • Romanized Korean (and Japanese) of all of the songs on all six albums
  • English translations of all of the songs on all six albums
  • The best images we could find from the albums themselves (or from the same time periods)
  • YouTube videos of some of the best performances and/or fan-mades out there of all of the songs on all six albums.

To access the discography, simply locate the “Rain’s Discography” attachment-007vbutton on the website’s navigational menu at the top of the homepage at CloudUSA.org.  Once you are on the main discography page, then all you have to do to find a song and its accompanying pages is scroll down, pick the album you want to investigate, and click on the song name.  Voilà!  That’s all there is to it.

Stephe and I sincerely hope you will enjoy the discography.  It was truly a labor of love for me.  Rest assured that I will be adding more albums and songs to the discography as time and my schedule allow.   Certainly, this is a work in progress, and as Rain will continue to make new albums, I don’t ever see my work finishing.  But for me, trying to catch up and then keeping up is half the fun!  :-}

Wishing you many Rainy Days,

Terri :-}

P.S.  We already have some really fun surprises prepared for you on this front.  So, please do keep a sharp eye out for updates.  :-}

    • Aw. Thank you for your kind words. ♥ Glad you’re enjoying it.

      It’s not done yet. Probably never will be, but who cares! As long as Rain makes music, I’ll keep going. How about that? 😛

  7. Wow, Terri. That was a lot of work. Thanks so much for doing it. There were so many times when I didn’t know the lyrics and couldn’t find them anywhere. This site will get used a lot by me. CloudUSA comes through
    again.

    • Thank you, kindly, Patsii.

      It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. I learned so much about Rain’s songs that I hadn’t really known before, and heard things I had never heard because I was listening to every single sound so closely. I even heard a phrase this morning on the way to work at the end of a song that I need to go back and add to it. LOL.

      There is a LOT more to come, I assure you. We’ve got some fun, fun surprises. Also, if you all will notice, there is a translation of Rain’s and AI’s Oh, yeah on the discography that you will not find anywhere else in the world. This is the very first time that song was translated, thanks to Naoko (harudoful) and her friends in Japan (who are very shy and didn’t want to be named). ♥

      More to come on that front as well. (I’m so excited!)
