[articles] Rain cleared: Even the news videos showed that he didn’t do anything. Poor netizens! LOL

Our hearts go out to the poor, pitiful netizens wallowing in their own disappointment. But they’ve just got to face facts. The military can’t punish Rain if he kept his nose clean.

If he had screwed up at this late stage, they would have pretty much handed him his ass. Publicly.

Even after a bunch of blustering and posturing worthy of Kim JungUn, the news’ videos only showed footage of Rain walking down a doggone street, out of context. You would think they would have at least gotten him sitting at a table, taking a drink, on a phone, running around town with the other guys, or even coming OUT of the restaurant, something. The bias surrounding this matter is really obvious when it’s SOMEONE ELSE’S SCANDAL but all anyone wants to write about is RAIN and the 3 rides he got from his girlfriend out of 640-some-odd days served in the Infantry and DEMA. SEVEN months ago.

We would think they’d be relieved that he hadn’t stepped out of line! LOL!

Wanting someone punished just for the hell of it, not because they’re charged with something, makes netizens look like dumbkoffs with penis envy and no life. (Song HyeKyo would certainly agree.) We laugh at them. People who aren’t Rain fans laugh at them. They’ve so much as said so.

Now, let’s see what happens to Se7en, Sangchu, and the rest. Seeing as they all obviously had someone’s permission to go to dinner and wear what they did, and obviously regular soldiers across the board go to massage parlors and brothels all the time, we wouldn’t hazard a guess. The Army’s higher ups are on the hook but good this time, and they should be, rather than the soldiers. ^@@^

Rain To Be Discharged From The Army As Planned

Despite current investigations on PR agents, Rain will be discharged from the army as planned.

On July 4, the Ministry of National Defense stated that Rain will be discharged on July 10 as originally scheduled.

“The special investigation on the operation system of Defense Media Agency will continue into next week as there are still many things to confirm,” stated the Ministry of National Defense.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that Sergeant Jung (Rain) was not in the wrong for his actions on the day of the incident. He will be relieved of his duties on July 10.”

The Ministry of National Defense started a hardcore crackdown on PR agents after SBS’ In Depth 21 revealed PR agents freely roaming around in casual wear and drinking alcohol after performing at an army concert. Se7en and Mighty Mouth’s Sangchoo were also caught entering massage parlors.

Rain, who was present at the concert event, was seen heading back to the motel after eating dinner with his colleagues.

Rain to leave the army on the 10th as scheduled. The inspection of entertainment soldiers is extended.

The Defense Ministry judges Rain that he had no problem of his whereabouts on that day when entertainment soldiers were embroiled in controversy.

On the 4th, the Defense Ministry decided to prolong the special inspection of the operation status of entertainment soldiers by another week.

Defense Department Spokesman ‘Wui Yong-Seop’ (army colonel) said at a regular briefing today, “There is more yet to be confirmed, and therefore we have decided to extend the inspection because we’ll have to make sure that the soldiers and working-level officials of the Defense Media Agency have done their jobs right.

Continuing, “We’ve been investigating the allegations that the persons in charge have been entertained regarding the business affairs of military broadcasting ‘Consolatory Train’ run by the Defense Media Agency.” and “When the results of the inspection are in, the relevant soldiers will strictly be disciplined in accordance with law.”

Since the testimony of the relevant soldiers who held a drinking party and who visited a massage parlor and that of witnesses are not consistent, the special inspection team is known to have done lot of legwork in an effort to find an eyewitness regarding the soldiers’ whereabouts last 21st when the incident occurred.

In particular, it is known that Rain went back to the lodge after he arrived at the place and checked in, went to his room, unpacked, had dinner when a local concert featuring those soldiers including him ended after 9:00pm at that time.

An official from the Defense Ministry said, “We judge Rain that he had no problem of his whereabouts on that day. He’ll leave the army on the 10th as scheduled.”

It has been known that serious problems have surfaced as a result of the inspection of the status of the management and operation of the service support troop.

The Defense Ministry say that when they find there is a severe problem with the service support troop, the entertainment soldier system could be abolished.

  1. Jihoon oppa did not do anything really wrong . Any person in the army that has not seen there loved ones do want to eat and spend some time with there love ones and friends. So if the army is only getting on Jihoon for that that is stupid. What person in the army has spent some more time with the ones they love ,family and friends.

  4. South Korea need to establish a platoon for performers who which to fulfill their national support as the US and establish liveable regulations to entertain and fulfill their life callings without crucifying them at petty s**t and not f**k up their lives in supporting their nation. Rain should smile so wide until the camera will pick up a picture of his tonsils!! The military is nitpicking and the media is off the chain–meaning they are out of control. Get them in check now or close them f**king down Period. AJA AJA FIGHTING!!

  5. I think the military should redo the whole entertainment unit. I understand that soldiers must have some entertainment time so they can relax from duties but when artists’ reputations get damage when they’re doing their military time then it must stop. This is artists’ bread & butter, it’s their way of living we’re talking about, the military should take that into consideration. I mean you as a military entity takes away two years of an artist’s career, that’s a lot when it comes to entertainment! and then put that artist in an entertainment unit that already has a stigma of “free for all” in the country’s view then don’t take care of them and as a result you damage that artist’s career maybe forever? That is wrong! I know these artists should behave well but they’re human beings too, if you don’t draw a definite line then they will do whatever they think is right and that is dangerous cuz in essence, artists aren’t military people, they probably don’t know the military system well and so that’s why they make mistakes that can cost them their careers because Koreans already have a bad image of their unit. No matter how hard artists work, people think they’re better off than the mayority of soldiers so I think the military should eliminate the entertainment unit and think of another way to entertain soldiers. Let artists be regular soldiers because if their careers are going to go down the drain during those two years in the military service then they’re better off keeping themselves out of any entertainment activities. The risks are too high to take! 🙂

    • I agree 100% Mari. I even questioned if entertainers with established careers should even be required to serve at all. However, I do realize that Korean males (celebs and average joes) will want to serve, because they feel a certain duty to their country. However, you said it and I agree just let the Celebrity stay in or serve in NONE entertainment units. If they want to boost soldier morale, why not let “average joe” soldiers put on amateur shows for fun. If something more “professional” is required then get civilian entertainers outside of the military to come and perform (i.e., like the USO shows that we have in the U.S.). This will keep the military population entertained and give the celebrity soldiers a chance to truly be soldiers….OUT OF the spotlight and away from the media and netizens’ prying, malicious….evil eyes.

    • Totally agree with you Mari. And especially since they don’t support them and tell the media that the military is the one who gives them permision to do all that stuff. Instead they keep quiet and let the celebrities take the fall.

  6. The amount of mean spirited people never fails to amaze me. What has gone wrong in peoples lives to make them so miserable as to want to see someones whole careers ruined? I really just don’t get how netizens feel like its okay to be judge and jury or even like some evil god….and condemn certain performers like…well, like its their ‘job’?! I just….really have no words.

  7. Thank God and common sense that Rain was mature and acted lawfully on June 21st evening. Massage parlors and alcohol while they should have had suspicions of “Big Brothers” watchful eyes.
About the “eyes” and others getting plastic surgery to “look like” the idol of their jealous hearts–they’re still not able to be “Rainism”!!!

  8. My opinion is baby jjh did his job beyond expectations despite the scandal from earlier this year. He is a man just like any other and no one is perfect. He served what he had to for it with dignity and self discipline. He is always self disciplined when it comes to his job even if he makes a mistakes he accepts it and does better. Every soldier is a man of their own. And are old enough to make the right choices . If the higher ups knew better to let them go than it is the fault of them as far as who is in charge of them all.even those higher then jjh . He did well keeping out of trouble .. and as for the higher ups even for something like this it could be worse .. the whole situation . At any rate no one is perfect . The higher ups have to make positive of how serious things are and not go overboard on discipline. Wrong justice is the worse. If someone knows better not to do something than common sense not to do it.. follow your instincts they do not steer you wrong. The intuition is your inner self speaking as your heart and mind as one. It is the human instincts of adaptation ecta. Follow it and everything will be okay in the end. But don’t forget to balance it with the knowledge that you know. Intuition goes in hand with the knowledge we learn.

  9. It may be good to stop the pr soldiers and have them serve like the rest .. sure it would be nice to hold a concert one or twice every other month or month . Should have professional counselor for them to speak to on base for the soldiers who are home sick and what not. But to take away what they enjoy doing for others all together would feel even more like imprisonment to them.. even of things on the outside seem good .. they may as well be screaming on the inside ten times worse. Can take the soldier away from the stage but cannot take the stage out of the soldier .. the spot light will remain on them all. As for it is who they are. People have to make choices of their own. We cannot be forced to change. Compromise yes is always good .
