Well, of course.

He was cleared of it after the FIRST investigation, mind you. What in the world did the complainant think would come of a second investigation by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office? Rain’s J.Tune Creative modeling fees were not excessive in connection with his job. The man worked NONSTOP like a government mule.

Dude, please. When you invest in a business, that is just the gamble you take. Even Rain has lost crazy money in business, mostly due to the unscrupulous people who have come his way. Welcome to the real world. Move on with your life. ^@@^

Rain Acquitted of Malpractice Charges

Rain has been freed of all malpractice charges, coming loose from a case that involved billions of won.

On June 23, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors′ Office announced that “Rain, who was sued for bringing harm to a company after demanding billions of won for modeling fees as its main shareholder, was cleared of all charges following a reinvestigation.”

In April 2010, a businessman that traded in clothing sued Rain, saying that the singer, the biggest shareholder in a company the accuser invested in, received about 2.2 billion won as three years′ worth of modeling fees, bringing great harm to the company by receiving the excessive payment.

The reinvestigation took place for about two years, but the Prosecutors′ Office stated that no suspicions against Rain could be confirmed, and so Rain was not indicted.

Rain will be released from his military duties in July.

Prosecution cleared Rain of suspicion of embezzlement and malpractice

Prosecution cleared Rain (real name: Jeong Ji-Hoon) of suspicion on embezzlement of his company money after reinvestigation on it. Seoul central district prosecution announced that Jeong Ji-Hoon and people related to the company, who were charged of embezzlement and malpractice on a clothes company, were cleared of suspicion.

Prosecution said that they couldn’t find any evidence on the charge to prove the assertion of plaintiff. Jeong Ji-Hoon and other people related to the company were accused of paying gifts like clock for acquaintances with company money, getting money for model cost from company and etc.

Seoul central district prosecution once said, “Model cost is a very subjective matter, and there’s no will toward malpractice.” But because of appeal, they made a reinvestigation.

  1. Phew, I’m glad the thing is solved… 😀 Thank you very much for sharing!
But now, that incident with Se7en, Sangchu, KCM going to… was it a parlour house? Winter is coming in that sense, to be honest.

  2. Isn’t payment a part of the contract you make? If he had asked for excessive fees, they shouldn’t have had a contract in the first place. It’s not like he was in breach of contract or he did not have a contract at all. I’m surprised people can sue someone without thinking through… -_-

    • Yes, it is, JoyJ. People will sue you for anything if they think they can get away with it–even regular people, but especially a celebrity. One of the most important people a celebrity needs to hire to his staff, the very first thing, is an attorney.

      Sad, but true.

      • We (hubby and me) learned the hard way. If you ever…..and I mean EVER plan to sign a document in your lifetime that pertains to money, seek legal advice FIRST…..no question, hands down. Even with an attorney things can get “dicey” but do it anyway. When it comes to money, some people (Not All) can get/be greedy and cheap all at the same time. Greedy when out for themselves and cheap when it comes to giving others their due.

As Terri said before, people are crazy and stupid things happen to non-celebs too. So I agree.

BTW, we were quick learners. We have tried really hard not to get burned again, that’s for sure.

  5. Apparently, that’s not happening “Only in America”! They have to “pay if you want Rain to play.” Right ON!

  6. Clocks? LOL. They gave small gifts to “acquaintances” and this was considered embezzling? Huh? I’m a little confused.

Gifts purchased with company money under a certain dollar value are completely acceptable in any business. Even the one I work for. As is taking money out for expenses like those one would have for a photo shoot–regardless of who the “model” is. This is basic financial knowledge. What in the world? People are crazy.

  7. Seriously!!!! Next ask Rain how much he is going to charge for modeling before using him. He works to hard to do things for free. If u want to use his image be prepare to pay him for his service. This remind me the story about the company that Rain basically had to sue so he could get paid after working in the drama the fugitive. People wants hire and then dont want to pay him. Crazyyyy!

    • lluvia,

Actually, no one wants to pay anyone for anything anymore. It’s like everyone everywhere wants everything free. Crazy is right.

      • I agree, but what’s really crazy is that Normally it’s people with big money who are the ones who get “stuff” for free. Average joe’s like us have to pay out of our rear ends to get a fraction of what they get.

Most things involving money these days is unfair. Society has come to rely on “user/mooch mentality” which seems to permeate everything. I see it and have to deal with it at times even on my job. I hope whenever ANYONE does a job whoever they are, they get fairly compensated and leave the experience with his/her reputation and sanity in tact. Truly.

      • Glad Bi was cleared of all embezzlement and malpractice charges. He has scruples and I am not surprised he was cleared, as he should have been. Now he can move forward in his future business dealings without that cloud hanging over his head.
