For those of you wanting to obtain tickets to the Arirang World Peace Festival being held in Washington, D.C. at the Warner Theatre on May 7 and/or May 8, we have very good news for you.

We have been given a tip on a new e-mail address and it seems to be working, because replies are being received.  The e-mail address you should contact for information about how to obtain tickets to the festival is:

limjiart@yahoo.com

Please include in your email the following information:

  • Your name (in English) and a brief introduction (it would probably be good to include how/why you became interested in the event.  Organizers like to know that stuff.)
  • The number of participants  who will be attending the event. (I.e., the number of tickets you are going to need).

I have two additional recommendations for you:

  1. The festival is two days long, and the “talk on the street” is that Rain will be MCing for the festival on the 2nd day, on May 8.  However, that information has not been offically confirmed.  So, please make sure to mention in your ticket request to Jiart that you are interested in the performance that includes Rain’s appearance.  Otherwise, you may be sorely disappointed.
  2. Please be considerate of other Rain fans and festival participants and only request the exact number of tickets you really need, so that everyone who would like to attend the event will have a better chance of doing so.  We would hate for any of them to go to waste.

Many thanks to Bi Arashi and NovemberRain from Rain’s Little Cloud for the tip.  And please let us know if you do get a positive response to your inquiry and actually get tickets, so that we can pass on that good news too!

ALSO, if you are lucky enough to get tickets and get to see Rain, Stephe and I would really appreciate it if you would take lots of video and pics and send them to us, because we just can’t make it this time around.

  1. Hi
i just got an email back from the jiart, saying that my tickets are ready to pick up at the box office.
i’m scared that it could be a scam.
    did anyone get this email?

    • Vm,

Did you send in a request for tickets? Yes, people did finally begin to get replies for their e-mail requests last night.

  2. Hi. I was just wondering if you guys were filling out the registration form and submitted it to info@jiart.com. I did last week on 5/2 and actually lost hope that I was going to receive a ticket but I got a confirmation email about an hour ago. I think you need to fill out the registration form in it’s entirety, scan it, and then email it. I was sent the registration form by a friend who is in service (can’t say anything more).

    • Andrea,

People have been receiving confirmation of their tickets without the registration form, I do believe. We were told exactly what to say in our e-mails, however.

Thank you for the information, though. We appreciate it.

  3. Okay, we’ve finally heard that at least ONE Cloud has a ticket. But she’s part of the “in” crowd. As in she “knows people.” So, that’s how she got her ticket.

But thank goodness there will be at least one Cloud in the audience. Let’s hope they do let her take at least some pics and vids. Or maybe there will be some publicity photos taken. We will see…

So frustrating that Rain comes over here and so few people will get to see him. Sigh.

  4. My only consolation is that I’m pretty sure Rain knows that we understand none of this is his fault. It’s just as much out of his hands as it is ours…

Just hold on, Hoonie. Nine weeks, dude!

    • Oh yeah he knows, we know. It may take Korean netizens some time to “grasp” the concept that he’s a soldier and not a celeb right now, but we’ve always known that. These last few weeks of his service will fly by. It’ll feel like he’s on banana peel roller skates. Can – not – wait!

  5. Well, y’all, that’s kind of what we said from the get-go. Not to hold your breath, what with Presidents involved, U.S. bombings, North Korea nutting up, and Rain being a soldier.

Crap. It sure would be nice for someone to pull a rabbit out of their hat and help get some Rain fans up in there, but I won’t be the least bit surprised if they don’t. This hot mess was lame from the start. I mean, WHO arranges any kind of decent show in this manner.

    • Good Morning! when this was first announced I had settled with the idea that there was no chance I would be able to go to this event and then the information about emailing for a ticket was posted (high) with no reply (low) and then a new email address came out (high) and then still no reply (low) but I am in agreement with everyone statements that this is indeed a private/political/military event mostly by invite and unless you have some type of direct ties there is just no way. I do hope the whole 1,900 seats at Warner Theatre are completely sold out and am extremely happy for anyone that will be there and that they are allowed to take pictures and videos (as this too may not be possible). My inquiring mind is wondering what will Sgt Jung do while he is in DC for 7 days, he may have speaking/appearance engagements maybe. I do hope he is able to be off duty at times. As this event is sort of connected around the time of the meeting of President Park and Obama , she is probably already in the US as her schedule is 2 days in NY before going to DC on the 7th and then after DC she will go to Los Angeles for another 2 days (yes, I do follow other news too, lol!). I hope that in my lifetime the US is also able to elect a woman President.. I will be checking out the White House website, twitter, facebook, tumblr for any related postings.
I will patiently wait for a future Rain event.
      Have a great Sunday everyone!

      • @tonicny,

Rain in D.C. for 7 days will be doing exactly what the army wants him to do and that’s it. He won’t “venture off the farm” too far. He’s not gonna do anything that will come close to even looking like it’s inappropriate or “extra.” Remember he just got out of that frying pan not too long ago in Korea. He might and that’s a STRONG might be able to do a little sight seeing if his superiors give them permission for some down time to do that. If so, that’s when you D.C. Clouds better make your move. That’s if you can even find out where he’s likely to be.

Honestly, I don’t have the patience for that kind of “eye-spy” detective work. LOL!! Unless, he breezes across my path or I buy a concert ticket, I’ll probably never see him in person. (*to thine own self be true* I say). *SMILES* But hey, good luck to those who will try. Hope you get lots of good pics. *SMILES*…………………..

  7. The 2013 Korea trip caught my eye a few days ago and I thought I would ask. I do not have any immediate plans for a SK trip for same reasons as others. Would I like to go there? yes . I will patiently wait for a full concert some day and if its in Vegas that is a great place to be, been there once and had a blast.
I saw tweets that Rain will be in Washington DC for a week. Surely there will be reports and pictures of sightings.

  8. Good luck to you all trying to go to this event. Hope it works out.

Honestly (from the outside looking in), what’s happening is what always happens. Rain’s name/celebrity is used initially to garner interest in an event, which creates more interest than they have prepared for. That is what I believe is taking place. The powers that be probably don’t want this to turn into a Rain concert crowd. They are probably trying to keep a certain balance with regard to audience patronage to keep the focus on the event itself and not Rain specifically. This event is about more than Rain (although not to us). *SMILES*………………………………………….

    • True that. I think they’re trying to keep the emphasis on world peace, the alliance, and the presidential summit, a historical event, rather than billing “Rain The Best Show 2.” They would like some applause and participation throughout the festival and for other people, not just when he shows up. I can kinda understand that.

      • Well, I can’t go to Korea. I can’t afford to. Period. Not this year anyway. And like Stephe said, if I’m going to go to a Rain event this year, it would be much more feasible (or probable) for me to go to someplace like Las Vegas, which costs a heck of a lot less to get to. (So to speak.)

Not to mention a trip to Vegas will take a lot less time away from work…which is difficult for me to get away from.

    • I agree with you. This could easily turn into a Rain event with the amount of interest I’ve seen on sites with people trying to get tickets. I respect what the organizers of the event are trying to do to keep the focus on the event theme but what did they think would happen putting Rain’s name as top billing? News articles titled “Rain and Mighty Mouth going to D.C.” LOL. Sometimes I wonder when they do stuff like this do they ever talk to Rain and ask him for his insight into what to expect from his fans? Rain could have easily told them there would be an influx of fan requests for tickets and how to manage that well. Rain knows his fans LOL.

    • Well, all I can say is they are doing a really crappy job publicizing this so called “cultural event focused on world peace.”

The supposed venue has no information about it on their website at all yet and we’re 3 days out until the event takes place. There has been no mention of the event in any news outlets that I can find yet, and the organizers don’t appear to be replying to sincere requests about the event. And Googling the event brings up absolutely nothing but us (fans) and all of the information we already know.

So, I’m a bit unsure as to what this event is really for. Canoodling with President Obama for a select, elite few, perhaps?

      • Terri says: “……So, I’m a bit unsure as to what this event is really for. Canoodling with President Obama for a select, elite few, perhaps? ”

That’s exactly what it’s for. Come on now. This is the D.C. political “climate”…the capitol of the “I’ll scratch your back, if you’ll scratch mine” movers and shakers. World peace is just kinda thrown in there as a happenstance.

Honestly, I go back to what I said in the beginning. They probably never wanted this event to be public in the first place but once Rain’s name got out there they may have relented somewhat to appease the internet chatter. If they are not putting any real effort into publicity for the event, they are doing it purposely cause they don’t want it public. They just want to keep any complaints about it not being open to the public to a minimum. Their purpose is to make it minimally “open” to the public while actively discouraging as many people as possible from wanting to attend the event.

It’s kinda hard to attend an event without knowing the particulars. You certainly can’t plan in advance if you don’t know specific times, where to stay (nearby hotels), where to park if you’re driving down, where/when to get tickets to actually grant you access to the event. It seems very calculated to me, although I could be wrong.

        • I have come to the conclusion that the organizers of the event absolutely do not want Rain’s fans there and do not want Rain’s fans to have any type of contact or make their presence known on any level to him. Because if a local church group can get tickets and we can’t….that tells me a LOT.

          • No I didn’t contact Daniel. I’m not going to pull the church into the middle of this crazy situation. Besides if I have to go through all of this just to get a ticket….forget about it. I’ll wait until Rain comes to the states on his OWN terms. They have Rain there for an entire week and it’s not to sight see Washington. He is truly in D.C. as Sgt. Jung Ji Hoon of South Korea. I’ll wait until he comes back to the States as Rain.

  9. I think it’s just May 8th at Warner Theatre. When I talk to the special events person there the only date we talk about is May 8…..maybe because that’s the only date I ask about but May 7 never has come up. And the one thing she keeps telling me is that she has not received any information on how tickets will be distributed. She has tried to get that information because for Warner Theatre they need to know how to admit guests. When she sent me back an email reply verifying that the new email we have is also her contact email and suggested we follow the instructions she ended her email to me with the words “good luck” ROFL. I still have not gotten a reply back from the new email address about reserving a ticket.

Right now the plane tickets are super expensive about $450 and up for round trip. (Which I knew would happen getting close to the departure date) So unless a great last minute deal happens over the next few days I will not be going. 😦 But I’m hoping all the stars will align somehow LOL. But first I need confirmation on how I would get my ticket. This is baffling.

    • This all could have been handled a LOT BETTER, a lot earlier on. I don’t know what the heck folks are thinking.

      • I absolutely agree. I used to think that invited guests already had their tickets and it was just us public folks who JiArt are trying to get reservations for at the last minute. But the contact at Warner Theatre said her contact in S. Korea was asking about Warner Theatre printing tickets! At this late date! I thought those of us trying to get reservations would get tickets at Will Call but the contact at Warner Theater said there were 1,900 seats in the theatre and Will Call would not work. That’s when I realized NOBODY has tickets to this event….not just us emailing JiArt at this late date. I don’t know what JiArt is doing.

    • I thought from the start that this would be a hard event to get tickets to. I see that on the DC Cloudburst Forum here there is a Cloud who has a ticket apparently which is awesome news and it is due to her knowing someone in it. Still have hope but for me too the distance is too far to just go there for a glimpse but I am hoping other Clouds will go and make some noise for Rain and are lucky enough to get a glimpse. The Sales Director at Warner has been extremely kind on the phone and she has been getting a few calls.
Has there been any other decision made around sending flowers to Rain backstage or is this even harder than getting a ticket.
Yes, “Good luck” to all indeed.
Maybe this is a good time to ask Stephe and Terri about the Korea 2013 trip being planned?

        • Ohhh I’m so happy that idea might happen. I would feel a lot better if we could do something for Rain….even if we can’t get tickets to the event. It would be sad for him to be in the States for a week and to be totally shut off from his fan base here. That’s just weird.

          • Well, I don’t know if it really will, Alisa. It seems like no one can get any information on the event yet. And it’s only a few days away. Very frustrating.

I’ve written an e-mail to Jiart asking them some specific questions about the event and asking them if a flower delivery might be possible. We will see if they respond.

      • It’s not that I can’t go (depending on time and circumstance). It’s that he mentioned during Speeding that he intends to try to have a concert in Vegas, and if he’s coming here to put on a show, I am less inclined to trek all the way to Korea. I’d rather spend that money on Las Vegas. 7 hours flying versus 14 hours flying = more cash left in my pocket… yeah.

  10. I just submitted a new request to the new email address requesting 1 ticket to both days as I am also a fan of history and this would be very memorable for more than the obvious reason. I had been planning on getting to Washington DC on the 7th regardless (only if I have tickets). Keeping fingers crossed that a reply will be received. Looking forward to meeting other Clouds for the first time. TGIF!
