I’ve been thinking about an idea for the last few weeks. Seems like there is a need to disseminate information about events concerning Rain to people who are fans of Rain but not Clouds. The k-pop fan who likes Rain type of group. They are not joining the Cloud site and seems like @29rain on Twitter seems to be the “go to” place to figure out the what and where of his activities. Maybe an external event calendar might be useful? Something people who are not registered on the Cloud site can access. I started thinking about this when every time a k-pop forum posted that Rain was coming to the U.S. everybody had the same question about how to get tickets and there was no place for them to get that info unless they did an @29rain Twitter search. Rain has Clouds and fans and I’ve learned those are two different groups of people with different needs.

Funny you should talk about an “external” calendar. Cloud USA has an “external” calendar that we update every month on cloudusa.org. We’ve had that calendar ever since we started our fansite in 2010. It is called the “Rain on the Horizon” page. You can find it here: http://cloudusa.org/rain_on_the_horizon.html
It still says April because I’m working our our May update now. (Well, not literally NOW as I’m typing this comment, but you get my drift.)
Anyway, our “Rain on the Horizon” page is about as close as you are probably ever going to get to an up-to-date “event” calendar. The problem is, though, even we can’t update our event calendar if no one gives us any events to post. Even Rain’s fan club in Korea, The Cloud, is usually left in the dark until the last minute whenever Rain events occur. Usually we all end up finding out about them at the last minute, and then we have to scramble to react. Maybe that will change in the future, but I’m not holding my breath or anything.
Now. Back to updating the Rain on the Horizon page…
BTW, our server is moving and so even I am having intermittent trouble accessing our website now. Hopefully, all that will be done in a few days. I sure do hope so, because it’s irritating the heck out of me.

Another thought…I don’t think going to @29rain on Twitter for information about upcoming events is wise. If he was even tweeting. Which he isn’t. Rain hasn’t even tweeted since he enlisted, and even if when he is tweeting, he isn’t always timely about letting his Clouds know about events. So that’s probably not a good idea.
But obviously, I do agree that an “external” event calendar is needed–because we have one. But the one who really needs to publish an “external” calendar for all to see is Rainy Entertainment or whoever Rain’s next management company is.
But like I said. I’m not going to hold my breath, because I have been disappointed in the past on that one. I will just wait and see what happens…

(Sorry, folks. I may be sounding frustrated, but it’s not you all I’m irritated with. I’m just so irritated at how hard I have worked to design a website that these days keeps going down.)

Everyone, I’m still fighting with updating our website. I can’t seem to edit it very well and still haven’t gotten the May updates up yet. So irritating. And I can’t contact Support again until Monday morning.
I’m curious. Can everyone see the website all right? I’m getting reports that most people can access it just fine, which confuses the heck outta me. If everyone else can see it, then why can’t I? And why can’t I edit it? Are there any IT genius Clouds out there who might be able to get on the forum chat and talk to me about it?

No one knows or is saying yet. It’s just reported that he was found unresponsive in his home on yesterday. So sad. He was only 34 years old.

This is really sad!! I love “Jump” specially after Rain included it on his tour. He was so young and they were going to do a 20 anniversary tour! Drugs take away another creative young mind. 😦

Oh man that thing looks real to me!! I’ve always known that we’re not alone in the universe! Even if this one is a hoax, which I don’t think it is cuz it’s well preserved and looks real, I feel that we’re not alone. The other day a girl in Puerto Rico, she lives in the mountains and took a picture of the moon with her cellular phone. An innocent picture and bam! She captured an alien spaceship on the picture! Just like that! Puerto Rico is suposed to be one of the corners of the Bermuda triangle and for years we’ve seeing this kind of stuff. Thank God I never came across one but I believe they’re here on earth. 😀

We’ve also been keeping his history/activities/mentions month by month since February 2010 when we went live, on our Rain On The Horizon History Page. (http://www.cloudusa.org/rain_oth_history.html) You’ll have to pack a lunch to go through it all, especially May 2010 during his Back To The Basic comeback, when he literally tried to kill himself and us with activities, haha.

Thanks, I will. I really need to get a lot of fiction writing done that I’ve been ignoring for other things *ahem 😛 * …that IS my way of making a living, after all. And I could really use the rest. The ocean does wonders for rejuvenation and creativity. Just the sound of it makes your mind and body feel different, yeah?
I admit, I am a bit tired. And Father has been doing better these last few months. So I’d better scoot while the scootin’s good… 🙂
