Yeah, that was when he went to Hawaii in 2009 to defend himself in court. (I don’t know who the lady is.) Geri and the Hawaiian Clouds gave him such a welcome of a lifetime that it got on the news over there. I’m SO glad they were there to raise him up during what was undoubtedly one of the worse times of his life. Bless them!
The authorities stopped the 2007 Hawaii concert because the company providing the staging put up equipment that wasn’t up to code. And THAT BAND WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED stopped the concert by suing Rain over the use of his name, so he couldn’t perform in the States. And yet the asshat Andrew Kim sued RAIN for canceling the concert on purpose, to defraud him. WTH. (Later, Rain was exonerated and cleared of the charges in another court.)
I seldom post anything about it on the blog because I understand how deeply memories of that whole time still cut into him. It wasn’t just Hawaii that was ruined, but the WHOLE North American leg of his 2007 tour, his official entrance into the U.S. (including Atlanta). It hurt him so badly that he used his ADIEU!2010 New Years Eve shows to finally find some closure and “finish” the tour (hence the 2011 Rain’s World starter jackets).
